At Whetmore University, nothing ever goes wrong. The campus is lush and green, the students friendly and the staff helpful. Intelligent young students are working hard to make the first steps in their chosen careers.
With over 200 recognized majors and minors, Whetmore has a curriculum for everyone. Our general education classes also offer students the choice to take classes unrelated to their given major.
With a graduation rate of 89%, Whetmore is doing everything in its power to ensure the success of its students. Most graduates even receive job offers within six months of graduating.
But in stories like these, something is bound to go wrong…
It begins with a cold case from ten years prior and a string of disappearances in the town of Orange, California where Whetmore found its home leading up to the present day.
You’re a student at Whetmore college. Young and hopeful, maybe a little tired. Hungry for something other than cheap ramen noodles and microwaveable Mac n cheese, surely. Thirsty for sleep, a drink, something to dull the creeping sense of dread that followed them everywhere.
With credit obligations to fulfill, you’ve decided to take Creative Writing, taught by middle aged Professor Stephen Marcott, three time published author and notoriously strict with grades.
The first few days of class go by without a hitch, as is to be expected. As homework for other classes rolled in and the temptations of college night life beckoned, it became harder to stay on top of your work.
So you decide to join a study group, full of other members of your class. Some you like, some you don’t. Some you’ve never spoken to before in your life.
With the main curriculum being a study of the professor’s novels, things seemed pretty straight forward.
Until one day, things start adding up. The deeply twisted plot of Professor Marcott’s novels with startling connections to real life, a few bits of missing evidence that some rookie cop had failed to notice. Pictures, found in Stephen’s office.
What’s really going on in Orange, and what does your creative writing teacher have to do with it?
I suppose you’ll have to find out before it’s too late. Until then…
The roleplay will be set at Whetmore University in the first three weeks of the school year. Students of all grades are able to take this Creative Writing class, so the characters will be between the ages of 18 and 23. The plot will follow the study group as they begin uncovering shocking details surrounding the town’s string of disappearances.

who am I?
Hi, I’m Kyra, and I will be one of your GM’s. I’ve been writing for practically my entire life and role playing for almost ten years. I’m currently running one other rp, which I’m proud to say is going so well!
I really value a collaborative plot and world building experience within my role plays, so a lot of things are not set in stone! I’d love to hear your input, and take into account what my writers want to do/see or hear.
I’m super excited for this to get off the ground, so if you’ve made it this far and are interested in joining, I’d appreciate it if you could comment below.
some basics
This is an advanced literacy roleplay which means posts will usually contain 3 or more paragraphs! We will also be touching on some mature/darker themes, so if that’s not really something that you’re into, we’re not for you!
We do not have specific roles to fill, but myself along with the other GM’s retain the right to deny any character we feel isn’t fit for the plot. This is an application based roleplay, so not everyone will be accepted.
No need to worry, though, if you have any questions we are always here to answer them to the best of our ability!
links?
As I’m sure you’ve noticed, this interest check is lacking in the links to the CS and OOC pages! Once enough people have shown interest we will DM you with the link to our discord, which will contain all the other information you need to join us! This means that having Discord is required, as all of our OOC talk, planning and major announcements will occur there. The link to our CS and IC pages will also be there. We look forward to hearing from you!

rule one!
Absolutely no hate, discrimination or drama will be tolerated! Please come to me or a Gm if you have any problems, as this is supposed to be a safe place for everyone.
rule two!
While there is no character limit, please be sure to never take on more than you can handle. Characters are to be between the ages of 18 and 23, and use realistic face claims. All characters must be accepted by myself or another GM before they can be written for in character.
rule three!
This is an advanced literacy, active roleplay. This means that posts will typically have 3+ paragraphs. We’d also like for each character to be posted for once weekly at the minimum, but if you ever can’t post for an extended period of time just let one of us know and we’ll happily give you more time. Communication is important!
