Aurelia

Since Auri had her own stuff to deal with, she simply handed the wounded bird over to the best medical birds she knew, so that they could get him better as soon as possible. In the meantime, Auri organised the flock and you could almost call it 'clan' of birds of which she was their ruler, only due to the fact that her parents were the leaders. But since they died early onto her birth, her Aunt took over and rose Auri until she was fit to lead the group of birds in a safe and prepared manner.

With a quick shake of her head, she raced back into reality, and glanced around, taking in her surroundings. No different than ever. Emerald green trees, towering above, brown muck of dead leaves sprawled on the floor, and little bug crawling around, hoping to not meet their doom with a bird. Auri was sitting on a branch, and decided it was time to head back towards her bird 'clan' as per say. She spread her pure white wings with bright gold accents and took to the skies, soaring just below the canopy, just so she knew where she was.

After a short trip, Auri grew close to the site. But, she noticed another bird sitting high on a tree, and with another look-over the bird, she realized it was Diego. In a split second decision, she diverted her course and began to fly towards him, planning to land on the branch that he stood on, or maybe one above or below. Just nearby would be fine. She just wanted to know he was okay.

(Sorry for the disappearance, hopefully will be more active)

Diego watched the activity below him quietly, but he could see Auri coming. He gave a light smile to her as he saw her as he sighed once more, waiting for the moment to get flying. It's been a worrying idea to fly again. He worried about crashing and falling to the ground messing his wing up more. Not something he seemed fond of. He got ready, feeling the wind against him as it blew softly against him. Another storm coming, he kind of grew fond of them. It was always really nice after they came through, but then they go right back to normal.

Landing next to the bird of similar appearance, Auri gave a warm smile, yet her smiles were often hollow. But of course no one knew that. She had to be happy for them. "Worried about flying again after what... five weeks?" she questioned. She felt the air beginning to intensify with the power of a storm, which after all her life living here, was like a coffee a day to a human.

Auri had experienced broken limbs many times. Especially broken wings, but being the gifted flyer she was, flying again after weeks without it, was like stealing candy from a baby. It almost made her question how Diego could be so scared - if he was, that is - of flying again. Auri had suffered much longer and worse breaks than him, yet she got back on track easily.

Diego shrugged as he looked over at Auri landing next to time. He didn't know what to say so it didn't seem like his human history was obvious. He didn't fly very fast, he was sure that he couldn't get up to the fast speed, or even be that quiet. He wasn't one to really care since he didn't have predators trying to attack him at every angle. Well... Now that he started thinking about it, There isn't that many predators in North America.... There we go, he could lie about that.

"It's just, all the wildlife out there. I'm not used to this life, You know this." He spoke to her and shrugged lightly. He then looked back at the developing storm and sighed softly "That's the 16th storm since I've been here. You know.... that's basically a years worth where I used to live."

"Not used to this life? You're a bird for goodness sake! Wired for the life of the wild." Auri exclaimed, yet settled as she finished her sentence, and starred towards the brewing storm, taunting them for it's arrival. "Sixteenth, wow. I thought we'd have had more by now. But you get like, sixteen a year? That's so ... weird." she said, expressing her thoughts in a tone clearly showing it was exactly what she was thinking.

"Well, this is the Amazon for you, I suppose." Auri replied, highlighted by a warm smile. "Anything you'd like to do whilst you're here?" she added in, after all, it's not like this poor bird had gotten to really see the Amazon like she did, through the canopies, weaving between branches, seeing it from all angles and all perspectives. Each look on it makes it seem like a whole new world, which is something Auri loved to explore about her home, despite her duties.

Once again, Diego shrugged thinking about his response... And then began to think about her question. What did he want to do in the Amazon... He may as well find out since he is basically stuck here for quite the time... He looked over at the storm as it was getting closer and he looked back to Auri and said "I want to at least try to fly before this storm hits..." He spoke up a bit and looked down at the ground all the way below them.

"You want to fly?" Auri asked, repeating part of his answer. "Well then fly!" She exclaimed, bouncing off of the branch doing a quick flip before hovering in the air in front of Diego. Then it struck her that Diego hadn't flown in a while, let alone in the Amazon with a breaching storm. "Or... maybe glide to begin with." she added with a small giggle.

Auri then turned and flew off, but before she got too far, she glanced back at Diego, waiting - clearly impatiently - for him to start flying... or gliding. Whichever suited him.

Diego raised his eyebrow at her when she seemed to get so excited. It kind of confused him upon why she became so excited at the idea of him flying... Sure it's been a few weeks since he got here, and maybe he has gotten to know Auri in that amount of time. But when she started to fly on, he looked towards the Storm, and then sighed and hopped off the branch and spread his wings and could feel the air against them as he began gliding towards Auri. He moved his wings slightly to gain speed, and although there was a light pain still, he could manage with it, and he caught up to Auri and flew past her.

Auri gave Diego a smile as he sailed past her, and in that moment, she turned to follow him, shortly catching up and slowing down to his pace. The one thing that intrigued Auri about Diego was that he still, after quite a few weeks of knowing each other was very reluctant on talking to her. "Hey, you know you can talk more to me, right?" she said, with her head turned slightly towards him, yet her peripherals still had vision on their path ahead.

Diego continued to focus mainly on his flying, though he did hear Auri talk to him. and it made him look over at her before looking forward once again. He simply replied back to her, "Well I mean, I wouldn't want to intrude on you being busy and all." He continue on quietly after that, but light pains would cause him to close his eyes for a moment and then open them again and continue. He hoped that this wouldn't last too long.
