Fantasy .

Diego watched as the bird covered him, he looked at the edges of her wings. They were the same as his... There was no way that she wasn't a White and Gold Macaw... And if the environment serves him right, he is in the Amazon... thus... she's a South American White and Gold Macaw. He watched the human come up to him and got a bit worried as he did. He didn't see anything to be afraid of, other than the fact that the door was open.

Aurelia

As the human came closer, Auri squawked loudly, trying to scare him off. It clearly wasn't working. But she still had to defend this guy - of whom she hardly knows, not even his name. Just if they could fly away, it would've made things so much easier... maybe Auri could carry this bird far enough away? No... She wouldn't be able to live with herself if something went wrong during that process.

The human came up and looked at the cage. It was unlocked... and he saw two birds in there now. "Hey boss! Looks like we caught a second one without any effort!" The man spoke out as he looked back at the birds and smirked. "You two are going to make us rich as hell~" He spoke quite the voice as he went to close the door.

Aurelia

Quickly, Aurelia zipped out of the cage, flew up and started pecking at the human's head, making sure to be continuously moving so that she wasn't hit by his wildly waving hands. In between the pecks, Auri added a squawk, to try and annoying the human even more, hopefully driving him away from herself and the fellow bird. Every now and again, Auri aggressively scratched the human with her claws. It was quite funny that Auri was going crazy wild to protect someone she hadn't really met yet.

Diego watched as the female went after the human. The human tried to swat at her multiple times before running back away from the truck bleeding from his head and arms lightly as he moved away, running towards the boss's tent.

Diego continued to watch her, kind of worried... he didn't want her to die or something, and he would truly be the last one... he just didn't know.

Aurelia

Aurelia performed the call her Aunt had told her to if she was ever in danger, so that her aunt could some find her. It was immensely loud, and seemed to echo over and through the dense foliage. She flew back down to where the male bird was still standing at. "You will be safe, I promise..." She trailed off, and faltered, remembering the last time she made a promise to someone... Auri shook her head, and looked up, scanning for her Aunt

Aunt Cecilia

It wasn't the fact that her niece had snuck out again that worried her, it was the fact that she actually used the distress signal Cece had insisted her to use if ever in danger. She immediately dropped everything, and flew off following the sound, and each time it was repeated, she got closer and closer to it.

Soon enough, Cece had reached Auri, and she gave her a quick squeeze before focusing on the injured male. "Who is this? I thought you were in danger Auri!" She squawked in an annoyed tone, yet she was still relieved Auri thought of using the call.

Diego cringed at the loudness of the call. But as a White cockatoo came up and landed near them and asked Auri.. which was her name... he thought that was a lovely name. He looked back seeing humans coming towards him and used his good wing to point. "That's the danger!" He responded in a quick tone as three humans came up to the truck very quickly.

Aurelia

"Get him on my back!" Auri said sternly, clearly implying she wasn't taking other options. Her aunt - Cece - carefully moved the male bird onto her back. Auri's back already hurt from the extra weight, and this was already proving to be harder than she thought, but she had to try. She slowly flapped her wings in large beats to keep herself and her passenger afloat. She then began flying off, but she faltered many times along the way, but somehow managed to keep flying despite the circumstances.

Aunt Ceceila

Surprised at her niece's idea of carrying the bird, she froze, but quickly snapped into action and carefully manovered the male onto Auri's back, who did seem to partially collapse under the extra weight. She took off after her niece, and followed her all the way back to their home, which was a considerably long trip compared to the usual flight.

The humans watched as the birds flew away, one throwing their hat on the ground in despair "Dammit!" the one yelled as he watched.

Diego tried his best to stay on the bird, and kept a light hold on Auri as they flew home. He watched the clearing disappear, and then be covered by a luscious forest environment. He felt like he was at the zoo still... but the Zoo didn't have two White and Gold Macaws... only him... well.. now not even him. He sighed quietly as he thought about everyone there and what may happen to them.

Aurelia

It had taken a while to fly back, and it wasn't exactly the smoothest ride, but it was better than none. Once she had landed, she was immensely tired - so much so her panting could be heard. But it was worth it, she got the male to safety. She felt her Aunt take him off her back, and then her legs buckled underneath her, forcing Auri to rest right where she was, as she continued to pant.

Aunt Cece

Cece had finished following, and they had finally landed. She carefully removed the bird that had hitched a ride from her niece's back. Then she flew off to get some food supplies that they had, in order to revive Auri, and feed this other male bird.

Diego was still very tired. Being out of the sun helped him relax as he got comfortable on the floor of where they were and slowly closed his eyes. He hasn't slept in over 24 hours at this point. And he finally fell right to sleep where he was without a second though. Well other than Auri

Aurelia

Auri glanced over at the bird she just saved and noticed he had already drifted to sleep. She managed to have a light chuckle about it, until seeing her aunt come back with some food, on which she nawed down on. "We'll... Have.. To... Move... Him... Right?" Auri finally finished, because inbetween each word she chewed the food a bit more. Once Auri finished gnawing down the food, she felt pretty decent already, and believed she could fly the short distance home, as her Aunt had asked, and she gave a slight nod.

Once they got back, Auri sat down and waited for the male to stir awake.

Aunt Cece

Cece got back with some food supplies, and let Auri chow down on them. "Of course we have to move him!" She said defiantly. With that, she carefully moved the male onto her back this time, ready to take the short trip to what she and her niece called home. "You alright to fly?" Cece asked her niece, and as soon as she nodded, Cece took off, hoping not to wake the bird. Soon, they arrived at a tree with a small hollowed area, and entered the hollowed trunk, removing the male bird from Cece's back. The cockatoo then went off in search of some more food.

Diego stayed asleep for a while, it wasn't until he rolled over while laying on the ground that he snapped awake because he rolled onto his broken wing and pain shot right into him and he jumped up snapping awake and looked around frantically breathing rapidly for a moment before calming down lightly and looking over at Auri and tilted his head.

Aurelia

"You just rolled onto your sore wing, right?" Auri asked calmly. Only now had she realised there were much better methods she could've used to transport this male bird, but it didn't really matter now. "You're safe here, no need to fret like you just did." she added with smirk. Auri stood up and took a peek outside, looking for her Aunt Cece, but the seemingly regal cockatoo was no where to be seen. Maybe she was chatting the bird pack about her current absence - and trying to explain that nothing was wrong with her flying away and not telling anyone... Auri shook her head and walked back in. "Are... you alright? Like, despite the wing."

Diego watched, and listened to Auri.. but he didn't say anything in response, he at least nodded to her question so as to make it seem like he was not ignoring her. He was just out of his element. He is a North American White and Gold Macaw. More used to cold than heat, and this heat certainly was stressing him out He looked around calmly trying to get a sense of everything to at least lighten his nerve.

Aurelia

"You can talk to me, you know that, right?" Auri said as she strode over. "It's probably a lot different here from where you come from, due to your reaction to this place... where are you from?" she added. Surely this bird had to be from very different climates and environments, due to how he was still stressed. She carefully sat next to the male bird, giving him a warm smile, and then inspecting his wing with a piercing eye, and luckily enough the wing most likely only had a small break, and would heal if given the time and correct treatment.

Diego still just watched her and as she sat next to him and inspected his wing that was broken he spoke lightly to her with where he was from "North America." Was his answer and he looked over to the entrance then back at her. Still kind of iffy.. She's a wild bird while he isn't. It's just.... Scary to think about. Even though he was technically born wild he was raised captivity. She was born and raised in the wild. They're so much different already.

Aurelia

Auri shook her head ever so slightly and stood. Surely, by now - after saving his life - she would be trusted. But she was too wild to be trusted. With that, she heard the familiar call of Cece - her aunt - and gave a smile as she walked to the entrance.

Aunt Cece

With a loud caw, Cece dived down, landing on the branch in front of the hollowing in the tree. "I tried to reason with them, but they're really disliking their leader disappearing without a trace half the time." Cece whispered to Auri, not sure if she had told the male bird about her... Position as of yet. She shot a glance over to the injured bird, then in a flash looked back at Auri. "So what are we going to do with him now?" She questioned - knowing her niece would have some sort of answer; whether it was a good one or not, that was a different story.

Diego silently watched still. He thought about saying his name at least so they know what to call him. He also knew he'd have to repeat the story to both of them whenever the time came. So he finally talked, "Diego. North America." Those were the three words he spoke, and only those three. He watched both birds kind of carefully, studying them... especially the other white and gold Macaw that was looking at him.

Auri's vision spun to where the bird was standing. "Diego, huh? Great name." She smirked, and looked back at Cece. "I suggest he stays here until the wing is healed... Here, it'll be quieter, and easier for him. Especially since he's so scared already." Auri finished sincerely.

Aunt Cece

Cece nodded. "And you want to help him get better, and want me to take over your job for a while, huh?" Once she saw Auri make a slow nod, she turned towards the brisk air and took off with no second thoughts.

Diego remained silent after he spoke, and watched the two talk, and then watched the cockatoo take off out of here without a second thought. He didn't know what else to say after that. He simply remained silent and looked around quietly. On average, his week would heal within 3 to 6 weeks based on the break he received. It still hurts him though whenever he made slight movements.

Aurelia

Auri walked over to the bird again. "So, how long do your injuries usually take to heal?" she queried, in a thoughtful tone. Hopefully, it would be easy enough for it to heal, and this bird wouldn't be too much of an annoyance to her later on. Balancing the freedom she wanted and the duties she had was already enough...

"Y-you don't have any medical type of birds?" He questioned softly as he looked at his injured wing and looked back up at her and sighed. "It's a light break... 3 weeks..? 6 weeks..?" Was all he could really finish off. He really just wanted to get home, and he didn't want to explain that, because home was with the zoo, and zoo means people, and Auri hates people..

Aurelia

"Of course we do, silly, after all us wild birds have to sustain ourselves." she said, waving off the question. "Yeah, that's decent. Then I'll take you home." Auri replied. She lifted up one of her wings, and groomed underneath it slightly with her beak, smoothing out her ruffled feathers. She offered a slight smile in Diego's direction. "But for now, you need to rest."

Diego nodded softly to Auri as she said she should get some rest, and that's what he did.

Within the next 5 weeks, Diego's wing did eventually heal up correctly. With his wing still being sore, he could actually use it for small periods of a time, at least gliding wise, but he still hasn't flown in a while. He was actually at the top of the tree right now, he was just doing his own thing for the last hour or two by climbing the tree, and as he sat on the top he observed all the birds below, and all of the trees in the distance, as well as an approaching storm cloud. He grew used to the heat, and the storms that hit the area almost on the daily..

He looked at his wing and stretched it out carefully, and smiled softly after he did because his wing didn't feel that bad at all. Though he was slightly afraid of messing up his wing again if he tried to fly.
