aka, seven
The summer had begun, and Roxy could not have been more excited. After everything that had happened over the past two years, this was certainly something she'd been looking forward to. She still had another year of high-school to go but she didn't mind dealing with the studying and the exams if it meant not also simultaneously dealing with a monster from another dimension. They'd finally closed the gate โ€” or rather, El had โ€” and so Roxy was sure there was nothing else that could bother them anymore. And it had been months since that happened anyway, and there were no signs of anything changing.

Well, not as far as the Upside Down was concerned, anyway. Other things were definitely changing. Roxy was beginning to feel things she had never experienced before and she wasn't totally sure how to deal with it all. In any case, she acted like her normal self, and today was no different. Jonathan was dropping her and Will off at the mall before he headed off home after his day at work, and while Roxy knew she should probably get an internship too, that was a little hard to do when she had no clue what she wanted to do when she was older. So, for the time being, she resorted to just hanging out at the mall.

More specifically, at Scoops Ahoy.

Roxy headed up with Will to the ice cream parlour and Mike, Max and Lucas were already there waiting for him. Roxy knew the routine. She had seen it enough times. Steve would let them through the back door so she could sneak into an R-Rated movie. Honestly, she mentally applauded them for their tactics. It was a smart move.

"Come back here after the movie, okay?" She called out to Will as he followed the others into the back. He turned back and gave her a thumbs up before disappearing behind the doors. Roxy didn't want to leave without accompanying Will home, unless he was staying over at one of the other boys' place, which meant that for the next two hours, till the movie got over, she was just going to be hanging out at Scoops Ahoy.

"Hey," she called out to Steve in greeting while she eyed the various flavours of ice cream. "Got anything new today?" She asked with a grin. She'd been there so many times, she was pretty sure she had tried almost everything they had available.

If there was one thing about Steve Harrington that never changed, it was the fact that he had no idea what he was going to do with his life. He hadn't been the best at school, focusing more on sports and girls rather than his studies. Nancy had tried to help him, but it just never worked. His grades weren't enough to get into a good college, and even if he did he had no idea what he was going to study. He figured that he would just work with his dad the rest of his life - it was a good job with good benefits, he didn't think it would be all that bad. He thought that he was going to be working there once he finished school, but his dad insisted that he get a summer job to gain the experience. With the new mall that opened, there were a ton of jobs that were hiring. He had just applied to a few without thinking about it, and didn't think the one he would get the job at was Scoops Ahoy.

It didn't take him long to decide that he didn't like the job. The outfits, the stupid little hats that he choose not to wear half the time. The only good thing about working here was sneaking the kids into the theater to see R-rated movies, which he was doing again today. He opened the back, waiting for Will to follow behind his group of friends before closing the door. Whenever he was around the kids, he always wished Dustin was there too. He was away at some nerdy camp, but he was looking forward for his return.

With the door now shut, he walked over to the counter, a smile on his lips. It was always exciting to see Roxy. She was a good friend, though recently, Steve was starting to have feelings for her that ran deeper than that of friendship. He hadn't admitted it yet, frankly he didn't know if he wanted to. He didn't have the best luck when it came to woman recently, and he didn't know if she even felt the same way. Telling her his feelings wasn't worth the risk of ruining the friendship that they did have.

"Ah, well, we have a new banana flavor. Want to try it?" He asked, glancing up at her with a raised eyebrow. Before she could really answer, though, he was already grabbing a small spoon to get a sample for her.
