Danny saw Seoung, he didn't talk to him. Well, yet that is. He looked around and he sighed as he pulled his phone out of his swim trunk pockets. He looked down at his phone and he swiped through Snapchat, and Instagram, all that good stuff. He was starting to get a little bored so he went to get a soda. He looked bored as hell as he did so, he picked a Sprite and he looked at Seoung. He decided to talk to him since he was near him now.
"Hey, I'm Danny." He said nicely. "And you are?" He said as he raised an eyebrow and he popped open the soda, and took a sip of it.

"I'm Seoung" he said with a nice little smile, glad somebody was talking to him.

"Glad you aren't one of my many haters" he said with a small and cute self depreciating little chuckle.

"Some people recognize me off of tv and they all of a sudden start being nasty" he said with a happy little smile at him.

"Nice name." He said as he nodded and he took another sip of his refreshing Sprite. He looked around at all the other people at the party, they had found other people to talk to, but two people he didn't notice that were here was Cael and Hana. What must they be doing? He had thought that Cael wanted to come to see his "beloved" Xiao Yu, his crush ever since he got here. It made him laugh, how lovesick Cael was.
"How could I be one of your haters? I haven't seen you on TV at all. Are you in a K-Drama or somethin'? I love those.." He said, he continued to ramble on, until he noticed that Seoung was just about to say something. "Oh, sorry." He said, blushing slightly and rubbing behind his neck.

"Oh hoho dear friend" he said with a sweet little flattered laugh.

"My my was that a compliment?" Seoung asked with a slight teasing smile on his face.

Seoung had a slight blush on his face at the thought of it for some reason.

"No I'm not from some k-drama but I'm delighted to hear you think I'm attractive enough to be in them" he said with a sweet little smile on his face, his face barely able to contain his happiness at the thought of being mistaken for a k-drama actor.

Seoung knew that's probably not what he meant but he liked to pretend for a moment that that's what he meant. Guys that play as actors in K-drama's tend to be very attractive males. It DELIGHTED him to no end to imagine being compared to one of them. Next someone was going ask him if he was a kpop idol lol.

Pool ; Seoung xpstitch xpstitch & Danny cherub. cherub. ; "Nothing much to see but maybe a lot to experience."

The pool party had just started and Esmeralda had to admit that there was a lot to see. She wasn't disappointed in the least, in fact, quite the opposite but she was one who preferred to experience interactions firsthand. She recognised a few people in the pool area.

Hana, Tetsu, Ai (unfortunately), Xiao-

Wait.

The brunette squinted slightly as she noted the appearance of her blue bikin- clad roommate. As always, she looked cute. It was funny to a certain degree considering how Xiao Gong was in one of the more intense sports. Sometimes Esmeralda wondered what others assumed of her at first glance and to her luck, someone else she knew, namely an ink-covered male individial was where she needed him to be exactly.

"What do we have here?" She asked herself as she witnessed the exchange between the two. It felt odd in a good way. She didn't know how to explain it but she knew once she witnessed Gabe pratically trying not to melt into a puddle.

An almost sinister glint in her eyes flashed before she reached for her phone. Opening her 'Camera' app, she zoomed in before snapping a photo. She was pretty sure they didn't notice her considering how they were practically in a world of their own. Esmeralda then placed her phone on the nearest table she saw before looking around.

She was sure to question the both of them later.

Just then, she noted a male that looked rather familiar. It was the male from earlier- the one who wanted to take a swim in his sports attire whilst he was sweating. Not to mention, another male who looked rather entranced (she couldn't place a word for it) by the other male.

She decided to interact with them, hoping she wasn't intruding much. Just as she entered the conversation, Esmeralda heard about the raven-haired male saying how he was glad he looked attractive.

The female was an honest individual and she didn't mind saying anything that could be considered embarrassing to the normal person.

"Well, both of you look attractive. Or maybe that's just me." She said nonchalantly.

Pool ; Ai . D O V E . D O V E ; "Will there be games?"

The male made his way to the drink area. There was an assortment of drinks, from sweet to sour. Tetsu just secretly wished that there was alcohol there. It has been quite some time since he had had a drink or two, especially his favourite- Soju. Funny enough, it was introduced to him for the first time when he went to an outside eatery with one of his friends.

Tetsu didn't admit it but he especially liked the peach-flavoured one. Despite the Japanese in him frowned slightly, he enjoyed sweeter alcohol compared to hard liquor. Nobody knows except Ai probably. He remembered going to a bar once with her and he could feel her judging eyes on him the whole time but she didn't say anything.

"Here." He handed the female a glass with a blue fluid in it. It was some soda and juice mix he saw, figuring she would appreciate the 'aesthetic' as she called it before giving a Steve Harvey quotes of sorts.

There wasn't much the both of them could do, considering she couldn't swim at all but he figured that could try interacting with other people. "Wanna talk to some people? We can split up if you want." He asked, knowing she would probably try to deny her not really liking the idea.

Seoung heard the interruption but was more pleasantly surprised than anything. Oh! She thought he was attractive too? How wonderful to hear!

Seoung went from his already smiling face to an even more brilliant smile at the girl's arrival.

"Oh!" He said in a pleasantly surprised voice at her arrival.

"Why thankyou!" He said cheerfully, his ego having been not only healed from his previous and recent downturn, but also just bolstered to the sky in general.

Seoung rubbed the back of his head at the sweet compliment.

"My name is Seoung" he said sweetly in a friendly way.

"I presume you already know Danny here?" He asked looking over at Danny's likely similarly surprised face.

Huh.... He's kind of cute now that I think of it...., he thought as he gazed over at the boy.

FIONA TIEN

Years of placing faith in those who inevitably corrupted it, who were willing to rip out the heart of one to whom they vowed to remain loyal, had taught Fiona one lesson and one lesson only: it is always merely a matter of time before trust is shattered, decimated by the personal interests that seldom fail to thwart whatever imaginary "bond" one may believe has formed between themselves and someone else. If trust were a rock, time and distance were the incessant tide, eroding away at it steadily yet gradually, and betrayal was the most caustic of acids, disintegrating every last particle within seconds until all that was left was a hollow skeleton. What word was it that many so often used to describe their significant other -- a rock? If only they knew that no rock can last forever.

But in spite of everything she thought she had learned from her past, Fiona inexplicably found herself making exceptions to this fundamental rule of social attachment when she was in the presence of the overly eager, compassionate, and unusually affectionate girl who now gushed with excitement as she led her to the dormitory elevator, clearly unable to contain her enthusiasm. Something within the way this stranger laughed, her cheeky, amused reply to Fiona's headstrong assertion of her independence, the uninhibited gleam of delight that arose in her face upon the discovery that they were roommates -- all of it seemed to distract Fiona from the fact that this girl was exactly that: a stranger.

Either way, if her roommate would deny her a name for so long, Fiona deemed it necessary to invent one herself: Sunny Bean. It was official. Not only did this nickname perfectly embody the glorious sunlight and the much appreciated dryness that had accompanied the girl's arrival, but it also served as a parallel to the peculiar title she had given Fiona -- "honey bean." Fiona simply could not erase it from her mind. No one had ever referred to her as "honey bean" before.

The stream of questions that poured from Sunny Bean's mouth flooded Fiona with nearly as much ferocity as did the sprinkler which had only recently freed her from the shackles of hopelessness and resignation with which it had chained her to the earth. "What are the chances? You're a first-year, right? This must all be really new to you." On this occasion, however, she did not feel chained; she realized that she, to some extent, even appreciated the company. That was certainly far beyond anything she might have expected.

Brief nods sufficed for most of the interrogation until the girl began to request more specific information. "What club are you in?"

Fiona could have said anything in response. She could have circumvented any form of questioning. She could have retorted, "Bold of you to assume I have any interest in answering at your pleasure," or "Just because we're roommates now doesn't mean we're automatically besties," or "There's something stuck between your teeth." Yet her response was plain and straightforward, and it granted Sunny Bean the bare minimum of what she evidently desired: a sign of mutual receptivity. "Swimming and dance." And when Fiona detected a sudden glow in her roommate's eyes at the mention of dance, she knew that this small gesture had been worth it.

"Ah, what programme?"

"I figure skate." The words left her throat like wisps of smoke rising from a flame concealed deep within, a flame kindled by a kind of spirit and devotion so strong and so intense that no measure of sprinkler water would dare to quench it.

Fiona followed Sunny Bean to a closed door, an inscription of the number 203 engraved into the wood in gold script. With an exaggerated, almost theatrical motion, as though she were a gaudy auctioneer unveiling her most valuable antique, Fiona's roommate revealed a comfortable dormitory room with elegantly tiled and carpeted flooring. After glancing at her cellphone, she reminded Fiona of the party advertised on the flyer that was now discarded in the recycling bin of the very building in which the event would take place. "Actually, I guess you could say I've already heard about it." At first Fiona was tentative, but the thought of being left behind, unnoticed, overlooked by everyone on her first day at the academy convinced her to heed Sunny Bean's advice. Regardless of her decision, she would need to shower --

"I'll let you unpack a little while I take a quick shower first!" Before Fiona could so much as open her mouth in protest, Sunny Bean had vanished through the bathroom door. As though she were in a stupor, Fiona gawked at the closed entrance, then at the mud plastered all over her body and the sodden dress that clung like leeches to her thighs, then at the door once again. How dare this girl, with the few barely distinguishable smears of dirt on her clothes, so selfishly claim as her own the only facility that could bring Fiona solace? What a fool she was for speculating even for a second that this was someone she could trust.

Yielding at last to the reign of the grime, she scoured her suitcase in search of the bathing suit she was confident she had remembered to bring, but it was not long before she deduced that it must be in the other suitcase she had abandoned somewhere on campus. Like hell am I going back outside right now. Not in this weather and definitely not looking like this. It was decided, then; she would not attend the party, despite her insatiable urge to make herself known in this new, unfamiliar world. Besides, how long did she have before it started? A glimpse at her watch -- a chic, or rather à la mode, seventeenth birthday gift from her French step-aunt -- informed her that it was 2:14 . . . in the morning? What? The quiet pull of sleep, however, allowed her little time to ponder over this discrepancy before it tugged her, stumbling and leaving a trail of water and muck in her wake, to the neatly made bed that she could only assume belonged to her.

[div class=line]

The click of the latch against the metal plate of the doorway aroused Fiona from her temporary slumber, followed by the voice and footsteps of a girl at once distant and familiar. Her eyes struggled to resist the overpowering allure of drowsiness as she attempted, to no avail, to hoist herself to her feet.

"Oops, did I wake you? The bathroom's free now, you can go take a shower if you'd like."

Every word unlucky enough to fall after the word "shower" dissolved into utter nothingness. Fiona bolted into the bathroom hungrily and breathlessly, launching herself with thoughtless abandon into the shower stall the second she managed to unbind herself from her so burdensome clothing.

The hot water purged her not only of the filth on her skin but also of the nagging thoughts that pestered her brain. It was typical of her to plunge into a state of deep introspection when she bathed, but for once, she relished the unusual calm in her mind, the transient reprieve from the everyday struggle between right and wrong, between trust and doubt. Instead, the water harbored a new battleground: one between consciousness and sleep. So often did her eyelids drift to a close, her head droop, her legs falter, within the twenty minutes that she spent showering that she nearly surrendered to it.

After staggering drowsily from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body, Fiona retrieved a set of pajamas from the luggage that her roommate had rescued for her -- her roommate who still, contrary to Fiona's expectations, had not left the dormitory and was now occupied by her phone. "What are you doing here? That pool party, or whatever it is that you said you were going to, is starting in less than ten minutes."

"Waiting for you, of course! Aren't we going together?" Eyeing the pajamas in Fiona's arms, Sunny Bean added, "Unless . . . you decided not to go? I promise you it'll be fun!"

"Go without me. I . . ." It was already humiliating enough that Fiona had forgotten one suitcase in the middle of campus on her first day, and she was not particularly willing to admit that she had lost another. "I didn't bring a bathing suit."

The disappointment in her roommate's countenance was unmistakable, but it was not long before it brightened once again, as though she had been struck with an idea. "Wait, I might have something to fix your swimsuit problem!" Sunny Bean sprang from her bed and raced to her closet, which she flung open with a surge of enthusiasm that perplexed Fiona to no end. Did this girl ever run out of energy? Apparently not, she concluded, watching as her roommate rapidly leafed through article after article of clothing before finally settling upon something that, under different circumstances, Fiona would easily mistake for a typical dress. "Can you believe this is a swimsuit?! Well, it is. I was sent it to try it out but it wasn't to my liking, so I ended up not modelling in it. They let me keep it though, which is real nice of them. We're around the same size, I'm sure you'll fit."

If not for the gleeful twinkle in Sunny Bean's eye, Fiona might have declined the offer, just as she had declined the outstretched hand she could still recall from earlier today. But the swimsuit (dress?) that her roommate presented to her was familiar in some respect -- the tightness at the waist, the flexible, almost elastic skirt, the black and white swans; it bore some vague resemblance to the figure skating dress she had worn years ago, when she, like dozens of others before her, had skated to The Swan Lake. "You know what?" she said, letting her pajamas fall back into her suitcase as she stepped forward to accept Sunny Bean's proposal. "I think you might be right."

[div class=line][/div]
As audacious as it was for the girl to imply that she needed help, to badger her with questions, to shower before she had the chance, Fiona began to sense something altogether pleasantly thrilling and grievously threatening: the development of a bond. Had she learned nothing from her experiences? Was she not aware of the danger that such an attachment could pose? And yet she felt so unfathomably safe as she walked alongside her new companion, so comfortable in the way the final rays of sunlight caressed her freshly washed skin, the way the placid evening breeze ruffled the skirt of her swimsuit, the way their footsteps synchronized as they progressed along the pathway toward the swimming pool and climbed the steps that led to its entrance. Perhaps, then, trust was not something to be feared, but rather something to be enjoyed.

This she remembered as she waltzed through the doorway for the second time today, a subtle smile dangling on the corner of her lips -- for in this instance, she had not come alone.

Xiao Gong

The tall tattooed Male seemed to jump out of the pool as Xiao Gong used his embarssing nickname to call him over. The 5’4 girl ran into his arms more than happy to accept the large bear hug off him as she even felt her body rise off the floor for a few seconds. She hugged Gabe back just as tightly burying her small face into his chest as her small arms tried to reach around the large man. As she hugged him she made a conscious effort to avoid putting pressure on his spine and so she was just squeezing his side. Once being placed back down on the floor again Xiao Gong took a step back listening to Gabe “I missed you too Gabey!” She says quite loudly which causes people’s heads to turn as the nickname drew attention to them. “How’s your back doing?” She asks as for the 3 months she’d been away the thing she had been most worried about what if that Gabe’s spine was healing and getting stronger.

“Turn around.” She ordered not even waiting for him to do so as she just turned him around her. Xiao Gong began to inspect his back as if she had a medical degree, she ran her hand from the base of his spine up to the back on his neck gently pressing to see if it was still hurting. “Wow, I’ve always been away for three months and it’s alreasy improved this much.” Xiao Gong says absolutely amazed by it “Maybe it’s because your the hulk.” She teases making herself laugh. “Anyway! How are you? How’s training? Did you see me win the tournament?” Xiao Gong asks as she needed updates as the past three months she hadn’t been able to text much as the tournament had taken up the majority of her time.

As the pair talked Xiao Gong’s him was burning and the cooling patch wasn’t doing it’s job but she was too focused on her reunion with Gabe to worry about a silly little hip pain.

"Yes, it was a compliment." Danny said, a bit of pride in his voice as he said so. Danny could watch K-Drama's back to back if he wanted too, all he needed was popcorn, soda and someone to watch them with. As he was lost in his thoughts, out of nowhere, Esmerelda interrupted their conversation, but Danny didn't mind. He though that Esmerelda could be a good friend. She seemed nice anyways.
"Uhm, thank you! I appreciate it." Danny said as he took another sip of his cold Sprite. "I think I know you, I saw you when I asked to come into the pool when I was running track.. right? I don't know your name, but you seem very nice." He said with a bright, charming smile.

Pool ; Seoung xpstitch xpstitch & Danny cherub. cherub. ; "People, new and old."

The female was never really a big fan of small talks, especially when it involved compliments to kick up a conversation. Even in this case, Esmeralda felt it would have been better just introducing herself but then again, who didn't like to be complimented?

"I'm Esmeralda Lee. I go by Esme." The brunette said with a small smile, a show of friendliness as to not give off the impression of disliking any part of the conversation or them. She then turned to Danny before saying, "Yeah. You were sweating so much from another activity I assume and you wanted to dive right into the water."

She couldn't help but smile at the memory of him pouting when she suggested that his plan at that time was not a great idea. "You can dive right in now if you want to." Esmeralda said before looking and at Seoung.

"Are you new here? I've never seen you around before."

Ai

The drink Tetsu picked for her was definitely an eye candy, deep blue accompanied with the mix aroma of fruits and soda. Ai played with the glass for a bit before bringing it to her lips, "This doesn't have any alcohol, right?" she paused when the tip of the glass was half an inch away from her rosy lips. The female didn't wait for an answer and decided to just take a quick sip. Her squinting eyes immediately relaxed upon confirming the absence of alcohol.

There was this one time when she and Tetsu went to a bar to chill out but she ended up getting wasted after two or three drinks. It was a vague memory but Tetsu did tell her that she yelled at the bar owner something about the bar being petty and cheap that she could probably buy and sell it. He also said that they got kicked out because of it but Ai isn't sure whether it's true or he's just pulling her leg. She also wondered how he managed to get her home..

"Wanna talk to some people? We can split up if you want."

The ballerina's eyes narrowed, "Umm, are you, like, trying to get rid of me or something?" she said with a cocked brow, "Whatever, Titsu! Maybe you should go and look for your peasant friends or something." she continued before throwing her hands on the air and stomping away from him like an upset child. She has this habit of misinterpreting literally almost everything which gives way to pointless dramas.

Seoung's face lit up when she mentioned her name.

Oh! Esmeralda! Like the Disney princess!

Seoung knew he likely could never reveal his love for Disney and his works but he was delighted to here someone by the name of his favorite gypsy was at this school.

"Yes I'm new here" Seoung said with a friendly smile, attempting to mask his joy at her name.

"We were just talking about my new career starring in K-dramas" Seoung said with a teasing little smile at Danny, his eyes and smile saying what his words weren't

Lol. What a cutie... He actually thought I was an actor in a K-drama. He resisted the urge to snicker alright. He had to maintain the joke as long as possible for there to maximum hilarity. He was obviously teasing the young boy. He wasn't in any K-dramas. Though he was top notch ice skater if anyone wanted to know....

Danny blushed and rubbed behind his neck as Seoung talked about the K-Drama thing. He shook his head and he finished off his Sprite in another large gulp. He then decided to question the boy, but before he did that, he heard Esme talking.
"Yeah, I ran a bunch of laps in track and I was all sweaty, and I didn't want to run back home, but I ended up doing it anyways." He said, a foolish smile on his face. He threw the can of soda in a nearby trash can and then he looked at Seoung.
"So what do you do here? Like she said, you must be new." He repeated and he waited on an answer from the boy.

to say the least, she felt accomplished. walking step in step with fiona to the pool, ara knew that this would be the start of something new, and completely and utterly amazing. the thought of it alone was enough to keep her in high spirits.

fiona looked amazing in the swimsuit, and ara thought to herself that poppywear would've loved her as a model. she carried herself with so much confidence, each stride purposeful and executed with elegance and poise ara could only dream to match. everyone was going to adore fiona, she was sure of it. fiona herself seemed reasonably cheered up as well, and a hint of a smile could be detected on her lips. ara hoped that meant she was excited too.
now the real question was, who should meet fiona first?

glancing around at her surroundings, she made a mental note of everyone present at the party. perhaps the ones she weren't so acquainted with would be a tad awkward. tetsu was here, but he was with ai, like always. as good company as ai was, she could be a little overbearing and dramatic, and ara was fearful she might end up scaring fiona off. wouldn't that be a terrible way to start a school year? gabe seemed preoccupied with xiao gong, who ara was rather pleased to see. she'd heard she was now a taekwondo champion, ara'd have to go ask about that later.

oh, esme? maybe? ah, she was with danny and a boy ara didn't seem to know. a first-year? it'd be good for fiona to meet first-years, and esme and danny were undoubtedly great company, that she could vouch for. beckoning for fiona to follow her, she led her to the little group, calling out to them as they slipped past people hovering near the food table to get to them. she caught just a snippet of their conversation when she reached, the stranger's name. "esme, danny! how's the party so far? i hope i'm not interrupting anything here. and hello, you must be a first-year too! i'm yoon ara, nice to meet you!" she beamed at them, then ushered fiona forward just a little bit.

"meet fiona! she's a figure skater and my new roommate! isn't she cute? you all better treat her well, or we're gonna have words!" her somewhat of a threat seemed completely ineffective coupled with her sunny disposition, but it wasn't at all meant to be serious, anyways. if they were just themselves, ara was sure there would no issue whatsoever.

"Oh!" He said in pleased surprise, he hadn't expected to be making friends with so many people here so quickly upon arrival.

"Hello Ara" he said with a happy and friendly smile, he seemed quite radiant at all this company.

"Hello Fiona" he added at their other guest.

"I'm Seoung" he said as he looked onto the newcomer into this circle of conversants.

"I was just telling them about how I'm an iceskater" he said sweetly, already feeling a little worn out by all this company.

Seoung was glad for all this company. He never expected everyone to be so friendly and everyone has been noting but nice to him this far. He thought everybody was gonna throw rocks or something but it hadn't yet.

Violet Reyes

location; second pool | mentions; Makomin Makomin

The soothing sound of violin drifted from Violet’s purple Beats Pill as she sketched the view from her bedroom on the farm back in New Zealand. She could still see it so clearly in her mind — the apple tree right by the window, the windmill standing a little further from the house and, in the distance, the hills that pressed up against the cloudless sky. On Violet’s side of the dorm room, cardboard boxes carelessly piled atop each other. She’d begun moving in the day before, but it didn’t help that most of her belongings only arrived this morning and she had to spend most of the day sorting everything out.

But Violet couldn’t concentrate. She stared at the bright poster with the words ‘Pool Party’ lying on her roommate’s desk (who she hadn’t seen at all). Everybody was talking about the pool party — even her running coach.

“Violet, you should consider going to the pool party tonight,” Coach Ji-nee chirped, “You can get to know other students!” Violet nearly choked on the water she was drinking. Her? At a pool party? You’d think dancing wildly in a crowd of sweaty, drunk people was bad enough, but doing all that in a swimsuit in a pool? Violet shivered at the thought.

To be fair, this was her and coach Ji-nee’s first training session and the woman didn’t know her very well. However, as Violet thought about it now, she’d moved all the way from New Zealand to Korea and all she was doing was sketching alone in her room, with classical music to make her feel like a sophisticated French artist. How pathetic. The least she could do was try to meet new people. She glanced at her watch — the party had just started.

Violet tore through her suitcase and rushed into the bathroom.

~~~
Whoever set up the party deserved an award; the pool was adorned with colorful balloons and various decorations, fun-shaped floaties and beach balls were everywhere and there was so, so, so much food. Music filled Violet from head to toe, and over the thumping of the bass, a distant, hazy chatter could be heard. She liked this song. Violet walked through the crowd to the foods table, her hand covering the birthmark on her neck self-consciously. Under her shirt dress, she wore a simple purple one-piece. The party wasn’t as bad as she expected, except for the fact that she knew absolutely no one.
Suddenly, a drink was pushed into her hand and the stranger was gone as quickly as they came. The beverage inside the solo cup had a brown-orange color, resembling that of apple juice, or beer. Violet didn’t trust it. What kind of weirdo thrusted suspicious looking drinks into strangers’ hands? However, just as Violet stepped towards the trash can, a person slammed right into her shoulder, sending Violet stumbling into the tall boy in front of her and the mysterious beverage spilled onto his back and onto the floor. People immediately scuttled out of the way, their eyes staring and judging.
Violet was horrified.
You could’ve cooked a three-course meal on her face. For a second, she considered jumping into the pool nearby and drowning herself for good. “Oh god, I’m so sorry,” Violet sputtered, her voice maybe 10 octaves higher. “Um… You can go in the pool to wash it off?” That was the worst idea. “I mean, no. Don’t do that.” She scanned the table to find a stack of tissue paper and handed them to the boy. “Sorry. Here’s tissue paper.”
The soothing sound of violin drifted from Violet’s purple Beats Pill as she sketched the view from her bedroom on the farm back in New Zealand. She could still see it so clearly in her mind — the apple tree right by the window, the windmill standing a little further from the house and, in the distance, the hills that pressed up against the cloudless sky. On Violet’s side of the dorm room, cardboard boxes carelessly piled atop each other. She’d begun moving in the day before, but it didn’t help that most of her belongings only arrived this morning and she had to spend most of the day sorting everything out.
But Violet couldn’t concentrate. She stared at the bright poster with the words ‘Pool Party’ lying on her roommate’s desk (who she hadn’t seen at all). Everybody was talking about the pool party — even her running coach.
“Violet, you should consider going to the pool party tonight,” Coach Ji-nee chirped, “You can get to know other students!” Violet nearly choked on the water she was drinking. Her? At a pool party? You’d think dancing wildly in a crowd of sweaty, drunk people was bad enough, but doing all that in a swimsuit in a pool? Violet shivered at the thought.
Pool ; Ara Uxie Uxie & Fiona jul jul & Seoung xpstitch xpstitch & Danny cherub. cherub. ; "Fish are friends and friends are fish."
The two males she was interacting with seemed to have hit it off with each other quite well. It almost seemed as though they were shy around each other. Esmeralda Lee didn't mind at all. In fact, she quite enjoyed cute interactions like these, as proven in her previous action around Xiao Gong and Gabe.
"Jumping into a pool while being drenched in sweat isn't the best idea." She said with a knowing wink at Danny before witnessing an exchange between Ai and Tetsu. At times, she wanted Ai to get out of her own bubble. Other times, she wanted her to step on a Lego to realise she could be ridiculous around people she obviously care about. Esmeralds had to raise her eyebrows really high to stop her from rolling her eyes.
Just at that moment, she heard a familiar feminine voice call out to her- Ara. A sense of relief washed over her as someone she was actually close to arrived. Esmeralda didn't admit it but having Ara around was comforting. Alongside her was another female. She seemed familiar and that was when Esmeralda realised that it was the female who had walked into the pool area before recycling something. What an entrance she made.
"Hello Fiona. I'm Esme from the Swin Team." She introduced herself or more like repeated back to the female her nickname which Ara called out. The female then turned to Ara before asking with a mischievous grin, "Did you see Gabe-"
She was about to complete her question when she noticed a female- very Western looking spilling her drink onto Tetsu's back. She looked horrified at the action. Esmeralda would have been concerned if it was someone other than Tetsu being splashed with drink.
"How do you find SIAA so far?" She asked after awhile of silence at Fiona.
Pool ; Ai . D O V E . D O V E & Violet illicit illicit ; "It's so sticky."
"No, the last time you had alcohol, you threatened everyone before passing out." The Japanese male responded to the female as she examined her drink before giving it a small sip for taste. Ai seemed to like it or rather, in her own words, it was acceptable. Speaking of alcohol, Tetsuko had a flashback to the night he regretted taking her out to a bar. All he remembered was wishing he was at his dorm with a bottle of beer. Ai, on the other hand, was having the time of her life being herself.
"Why don't-" He was about to suggest the two of them taking a dip in the pool when Ai had a small outburst. It was her usual tantrum at him not being sensitive enough. Tetsu felt slightly bad for suggesting they split up. He loved her as a close friend and knew that she would never admit it but he knew she would do the same as he would for her.
Tetsu was about to go after her as usual when he felt something cold, wet and sticky run down his back. He winced on habit as he realised by the other reactions he got out of it, a drink was poured down his back. Or rather, accidentally went down his back. He turned around and was faced with a blond-haired female that was panicking more than he was.
And he was the one doused in the drink.
He didn't know what to do except to actually place his hands up in a sign of 'calm down' to her. "I-It's alright. Calm down." The male said as he grabbed the tissue she handed him before reaching back to wipe off the residue.
He was glad he didn't wear a top. Only his swimming shorts were stained slightly. But then again, they were black in colour so nothing much could be seen.
He couldn't help but laugh at her suggestion of washing it off at the pool. "That's a good idea but I think the people who maintain the pool area will hate me for it." Tetsu replied after having wiped down the excess drink that was spilt on him.
"You sure do know how to make an impression, huh?" He asked jokingly.
wonho honestly wasn't sure what he was supposed to be doing. he was stood in a corner, holding an alcoholic drink and observing the party at a distance. he wasn't usually a fan of parties, but ara had pleaded him with to go. he'd agreed after a bit, deciding he was rather interested to see what the new batch of first-years would be like. maybe meet some new people. who knew?
and yet, the very person who had persuaded him to go was nowhere to be found. what was she being held up by? he took another sip of his drink, looking around, spying a buff russian guy who's face was vaguely familiar with a chinese girl that looked considerably smaller next to him. they looked very close, maybe they were dating, like a silly height difference trope. the door swung open right then, and wonho turned to find ara strolling in with a different girl he'd never seen before.
they made their way over to a group of people who'd already been talking for some time, and he narrowed his eyes when he noticed one of them. it was the only other girl who'd been talking before ara and the unknown had shown up. something about her caught his eye, and to be very honest, he didn't exactly dislike what he was seeing. she was pretty, like ara, but in a completely different way. ara was kinda cute like a pet, to him at least.
this girl reminded him of one of his exes. was that bad?
discarding his drink as he strode over, he reached them easily, and subtly pulled ara aside from the group. ara was surprised, but said nothing and moved with him out of earshot of the little group. "what's the matter, oppa?" she asked, eyeing him suspiciously. "is something wrong with my outfit?"
wonho paused, and looked her up and down. "you look fine. that's not the reason why i pulled you aside." ara squinted at him, then said, "your outfit? it looks great."
"no, i don't need your fashion advice. who's that girl?" she followed his line of sight, trained on esme, then glanced back at him curiously.
"that's esmeralda lee, she's a swimmer, and a really good friend. i tried to invite you to go out with us sometime, but you always declined."
"you never mentioned an esmeralda."
"esme, i probably said. that's what everyone calls her. why do you ask?" wonho hesitated for the briefest of moments, then nodded his head towards her.
"introduce me."
ara seemed mildly shocked, and deliberated for a second. "you must be finally coming out of your shell! look at you, wanting to socialise! i'm real proud, oppa. you'll be great friends." he'd known her for a year, and he was still shocked at how oblivious she could be. he watched in silence as she called esme's name and beckoned her over, probably with a huge smile on her face.
Seoung looks about and around himself confusedly. Huh? What? What's going on?
There were so many different people around him now that he began to lose track of who's who and what's what. He noticed that a few conversation lines got interrupted and new ones sprout forth in their place. Ara had been pulled aside by some guy and had been whisked away and out of earshot.
Seoung looks about to try to figure out who's still here and what conversation they were at. Some people had broken off from the original conversation and started their own in place of it. Ara and Fiona, Esmeralda. He noticed some girl had spilled a drink on some guy in the distance. He didn't pay much attention to it considering his confusion and struggle to catch up but he would eventually, little did he know. It felt nice to be social. With all these people around he almost felt a bit POPULAR lol. Imagine the look on his parents face if he told them he was actually POPULAR.
Who was left? Oh. It seemed Danny was still here.
"So what do YOU do here?" He asked as he got his bearings once again.
"I dare ask if you might be in a boyband?" He asked teasingly, continuing on that trail of K-drama actors and whatnot.
Danny WAS certainly CUTE enough to be in one..., he thought.
Mentions : pretty much everyone lol.
The boy, who looked to be of Japanese descent, turned around and accepted the tissue paper from Violet with a smile on his face. In fact, he was laughing at what she said. A wave of relief washed over Violet and she couldn’t help but smile back. The situation was kind of funny in a way. Whilst he wiped the liquid off his back, Violet did the same with the floor; the last thing she wanted was to be the reason someone slipped and cracked their head open. As she stood up, she noticed a deep scar on the boy’s upper calf. Oof.
“You sure do know how to make an impression, huh?” He joked.
“Yea.” Violet chuckled nervously, cupping her right elbow with her hand. There was a beat of silence which would’ve been awkward if it wasn’t for the loud music. What were they going to talk about now? “Um, I’m Violet. I’m a transfer student from New Zealand and I do track and swimming.”
Behind the boy, she noticed a large, muscular guy with tattoos covering every inch of his body, talking to a girl quite literally half his size. How did Violet not notice him earlier? He stuck out like a sore thumb. “It’s okay, man. I feel you,” Violet thought.
Pool ; Violet illicit illicit ; "Should I take a dip then?"
As he wiped the excess drink off his back, he noted that the blonde female had decided to spare others the pain of possibly tripping or stepping in the sticky liquid barefoot, by wiping it away. Tetsu was glad she did so. It gave him one less thing to do, considering how he was the one who usually cleaned up after a certain Japanese female. Not that he minded, he just enjoyed effort from others.
"I'm Tetsu, figure skating. No wonder I couldn't recognise you. Today's your first day?" He asked with a small grin before throwing away the soiled tissue papers in the nearest trash can. The Japanese male then made his way to the drink section before grabbing a cup filled with the same orange liquid she had spilled on him before handing it to her.
"Here. I did get to taste it a bit when you spilled some on me. It's not bad." He joked before taking a sip of his own drink. In the midst of listening to her, he felt his stomach rumble slightly.
He was hungry. He forgot that he actually skipped lunch. "Wanna grab something to eat?" He asked Violet before gesturing to the snacks table.
“Yep, I’m new.”
Tetsu was the first person Violet ever met who did figure skating. She envied figure skaters a little; not only could they ice skate but also dance and do tricks at the same time, all the while making their moves graceful. How humans were capable of doing that was beyond her. She wouldn’t be surprised if Tetsu got the scar on his upper calf from the sport. But here Violet was, running and sweating like a dog and she couldn’t dance if her life depended on it. Suddenly, she felt very little compared to Tetsu. Violet knew this was due to happen, coming to a school with such elite athletes.
She was pulled out of her thoughts by the cold cup in her hand. Violet laughed at what he said — he sure liked to joke. This time, Violet took a sip of the drink to find that it was, indeed, apple juice. “Okay,” She replied, not knowing what else to say. Picking up a paper plate, she filled it with various snacks — pretzel sticks, a mini taco, Korean snacks she didn’t recognize and... mochi! Back in New Zealand, her aunt often traveled to Japan — “It’s heaven on Earth!” she said — and came home with many Japanese snacks, and Violet fell in love with mochi. Minhyuk also loved mochi. So combining mochi and peanut butter, her other most favorite thing, peanut butter mochi was her ultimate favorite food. It was the weirdest combination and it made her look like a complete weirdo, but everyone knows food is first priority.
Violet scanned through the different flavored rice cakes with low expectations, and was pleasantly surprised. How in the world was there peanut butter mochi at this party? Nearly shrieking in excitement, Violet reached for one.
Pool ; Ara & Wonho Uxie Uxie ; "So many people."
Everything and everyone was moving fast at this point. Or rather, Esmeralda felt herself getting overwhelmed with the plethora of more individuals joining the conversation. Soon enough, each were interacting to people that were opposite them and cutting off conversations which others assumed were for themselves.
Wow, the female thought to herself as she witnessed the tangle of exchanges that were trying to occur. Just at that moment, Ara had said something to her but it wasn't really clear. The only thing that happened after that was her pulling aside, away from the crowd.
"Thanks, Ara. It was getting so busy there-" She was about to complete her sentence when the two of them stopped in front of a male. She recognised him vaguely from Ara's Twitter posts. Her close friend was an influencer afterall, having brand deals and what not. Esmeralda wondered whether there were fans that questioned why Ara would follow someone like Esmeralda on Twitter. She literally had a quarter of Ara's follower counts. That was, until Ai begin tagging her in random status-posts. Now she couldn't do things she used to do on Twitter privately.
"Hi, I'm Esme. You must be Ara's other close friend. I've never seen you around before." She introduced herself with a small smile.
Pool ; Violet illicit illicit ; "I love Mochi, yes I do. They're for me, not for you.......fine, I'll share some."
Violet resembled Tetsu in a way. The both of them were rather quiet, had a tendency to stay by the sidelines but would not cower for a second, in a fear for the passion of their sports. Although, Tetsu is quiet by choice and liked observing. Violet didn't want to get stirred up in drama that she wouldn't like being in. "How do you find Seoul so far? It's quite similar to Japan, just more noisy." He asked before commenting on the question.
Violet, from the moment she spilled the drink onto him until just a few moments ago looked really tensed up (maybe worried?) Hopefully she knows that he isn't too bothered by the accident.
When they reached the food area, he instinctively moved to the Japanese sweets and snacks area. His one true love, mochi, never disappointed him. When the world served up frowns and expectations, mochis gave him happiness and love diabetes too but everyone has their flaws.
He was about to reach for the Peanut Butter one when he noticed another hand reaching for it. He turned to find the New Zealander reaching for it. His eyes widened slightly before asking, "You like Peanut Butter Mochi? It's my favourite." As though the answer wasn't obvious already.
He has never met anyone who liked more....different flavours of mochi. Everyone he knew preferred the standard red bean paste ones which he disliked with a fiery passion.
Danny looked at Seoung as he was talking.
"I do track here." He said plainly as he seemed bored. He looked around, the pool party really wasn't all he had imagined it to be. He though it would be better than this.. at least. And everybody was going around everywhere.
"Nah, I'm not in a boyband, but I wish I was." He said quietly and he shrugged. He really didn't know about being in a boyband. Seoung would be able to fit in one nicely. Somewhat like the maknae.
Sooner or later, Seoung was already gone, going around to find more people. He moved along and he sat back in the chair he was sitting down at when he first got here.
Hana smiled and giggled softly as she nodded. Who wouldnt pass up more people to hang out with at the party "Yeah, Id like that!"
She looked down at her watch as they neared the dorms, "Oh no, we're late! Im going to get changed and I'll see you at the party!"
Hana waved at Cael as she hurried off to her dorm pleased to find she was alone. Ai was probably at the party by now and thank God, She had the room and the bathroom to herself. She smiled running a hand in her hair rummaging through her closet for the perfect swimsuit.
Almost ten minuets later Hana was dressed in a floral highwaisted bikini with a pair of black strappy sandals and blue swimsuit cover. She admired herself in the mirror, snapping a quick selfie of herself before hurrying down to the pool.
Once there she walked in, slightly out of breath. "Im not too late am I?" Hana said to the crowd with light laugh
Seoung walked about considering his options. Then he spotted them. Cael and Choi Hana. The two he had met before. Seoung smiled and headed over in their direction.
Danny walked with considerably more confidence than he had before, back when he first encountered them
