Eh. All of my characters follow rules but...it's just a knack of mine.
Whenever I make a character I thoroughly make a mental list of things this character CAN and CAN'T do. It's not things they phisically can't do, but things personality was they can do. For example: Katsuro can't go for aday withotu a cigarrte otherwise he will get extremely cranky.
Same.

Trying to think of how I come up with personalities...

It used to just be traits I wanted to see in a character, but now I guess it just kind of comes to me...?

And I try to think of little quirks/speech patterns a lot more.

Idk about there being an absolutely do and don't when it comes to personality, but definitely tendencies.

yea, samee. shinji just mentally cant break rules. well he can, but its gotta be the right situation.

inspiration comes to me in weird ways, but like pie i generally have character traits i want, and then i kinda build the rest around them. but backgrounds are important and i try to consider them and how it would affect my ocs in the present.

after im finished with an oc and use them a little bit their personalities tend to come pretty easy to me and how theyd react to stuff and what they can and cant do

but of course its easier for some characters than others

Well coming up with characters is always fun for me. I get ideas for characters from literally everything. Movie characters, people, music, pictures, books, colors (Yes that has happened before, don't ask me. Somehow the color white, mixed with a punch of piano music made one of my most screwed up characters ever.) and even quotes.

i love making characters.

and yeah i get that too LMAO

one of my ocs i came up with from looking at a youtube channel and another from reading a shirt

I think lately I've been trying to start with the history and building up from there.

I used to never do histories, except for very special occasions, but even the most plain of histories can really affect a character, because everyone has their problems. ouo

it's all great fun and takes days of meditation haha

id try to start with histories too since it just makes the most sense from a writing perspective, but if i get inspiration out of nowhere usually it isnt for the history

Well, when I do it I always get this...'picture.'

Either it's of what I want the character to accomplish or of the struggles or horrible acts they could commit. Then everything starts adding on and...ohhh boy!

I normally form an idea of what I want my character to do in the plot and how I want them to go about it, then plan from there.

Well, it's going to be a challenge for his team to overcome them, which is why they are inthe mission in the first place.

Tonight I'm not going to be able to make any IC post though, I'm too busy with my American Lit final project.

Same. I'm in too much pain and have been putting off (on accident) my history homework.

Don't we all have some type of work or school tomorrow?

Answer yes? We're all losers

Gandalf, could you repeat what you have shouted at my fellow roleplayers again?

Oh, it's far too late for that, Waffle dear.

Leaf has already started it, and once the ritual has begun...
