Self Reflection opens by setting the mood with a detailed description of the scene – letting it speak for itself in the first moments before flowing nicely into an internal dialogue about the motivations behind learning Magic. The story's pace made for a very engaging read.

A Day in the Tavern describes a group interaction that seamlessly flows into the reason for the desired Skill. Within the first few lines of dialogue, distinct personalities are established. This fast setup and effective portrayal reflect the writer's skill at creating unique personalities.

Don't Let the Rot Set In does a great job of intertwining the past and present toward a satisfying conclusion. The desired Skill only becomes apparent toward the end of the story but has been hinted at throughout the entire work. Overall, a very satisfying read.

Flames in the Snow leads with the discovery of the desired Skill and uses the following Acts to build upon this discovery. By combining the character's experience, and a well-written description of the Skill in action, this short story becomes a very engaging read about self-development.

Novama – Malik Seraphim gains [Performance – Flute] E
This story does a fantastic job contrasting the inner- and outer worlds of the character. Using the desired Skill as a means to add to the portrayal of yearning steadily growing into hope and determination throughout the story's progression. A well-written insight into the character.

slifer37 – Rowan Thorn gains [Domestic Arts] E
Self Reflection opens with a very cozy energy and maintains it throughout the story. The character's journey to acquiring the desired Skill felt comforting and heart-warming. The interactions and descriptive scenes mix well into an overall warm and engaging read.

The Last Curse – Cayde Whitinger gains [Appraisal] E
Fletchling does not include details on gaining the desired Skill and instead focuses on the events leading up to it – which works exceptionally well. The interaction between the two characters involved is engaging and displays kindness and understanding in a meaningful way.

Elvario – Victorigue Sopheana gains [Interrogation] E
This story opens by setting clear expectations for the desired Skill, and overall narrative, and does a fantastic job of making Titles an integral part of the storytelling. The character dynamics throughout the story make for a very engaging read and help make the inclusion of Titles shine.

Spamcelot – Sir Playwell gains [Ryken Adventurer's Guild – Apprentice] E
This story does a fantastic job working towards the desired Skill in a most playful and lighthearted manner. The good-willed nature of the character shines through abundantly and becomes the catalyst for a very engaging-, and even more so, very fun read.

Spoiled Bread – Eeriel gains [Magic Range] F
Overkill focuses on the perils of a cat being overcome by using magic and gaining the desired Skill in the process. It does a very good job intertwining the character narrative with the external, and well-described, world. Overall, a very good read about overcoming limitations.

Moonberry – Aedrianna Belmonte gains [Magic] F
Aspirations of an Aspiring Alchemist is a well-written insight into what troubles a character and how familial ties can ease that burden in unexpected ways. The use of tears at the beginning and ending to express development greatly reflects a very carefully crafted narrative.

Scoobie – Garrick gains [Fighting Style – Axes] E
Self Reflection does a great job describing character growth and determination throughout a well-written story. The way in which the character was portrayed made it feel like the story of an underdog, which makes the progress made all the more satisfying to read about.

SilverFeathers – Oden gains [Interrogation] E
This story opens by setting a very serious and uses it effectively to portray a story of restraint and the greater good while keeping the focus on the desired Skill. This restraint from the character makes for a purposefully tense interaction, which in turn makes this story a very engaging read.

TheTimePiece – Ryuuji Kamimura gains [Seduction] F
I May Have Been Reincarnated and Enslaved but I Still Got Game opens with a well-written backstory that naturally flows into a fun interaction about the desired Skill. It sets the scene very well and comes with an intentionally cheesy, but endearing payoff near the end.

Tellussoil – Noelle Nicchi gains [Magic Targets] F
Resonating Rock Music does a great job portraying the hard work that goes into learning a new, desired Skill. The narrative, and especially the dialogue, makes for a story where you want to root for the character, and this makes the success at the end all the more rewarding to read.

Femboy – Ul Dyril gains [Affinity – Frost] E
Lonesome Winter, despite the name, does a great job portraying a variety of character interactions while keeping the focus on the desired Skill. The conflict within the story builds nicely and ends with the satisfying conclusion of a well-written story.

Gaius Danius Griinia – Rios gains [Fast] E
Too Slow opens by setting up a scene of personal struggle, and then builds upon it throughout the entire story. The inner conflict of the character is overshadowed by their determination for growth. By the end, the character is rewarded for it with a satisfying conclusion.

gmimperfecti – Gyld gains [Leadership] E
This story does a fantastic job of portraying a community overcoming hardship by working together. The desired Skill plays an important role in achieving this communal goal. It is a heart-warming, well-written story about the value of teamwork that is engaging all the way through.

StarPrincessVal – Calliope Dar'Maoro gains [Domestic Arts] E
Confection Deflection Dissection for Affection Collection is a mouthful and a well-written story about going against conventions – and learning about oneself in the process. The desired Skill stands central within this story, but no more central than the careful attention to detail that makes this an incredibly engaging read.
