The Roleplay's RpNation thread has been launched, proceed here if interested:

The red miasma hovers over the world, consuming piecemeal the denizens of the lower worlds— a silver knife, killing by the dozens, bidding a black farewell to humanity's epoch of progress.

It is known that mankind came from the mountains of the East, supposedly risen from the very rock itself, where now only vast statues find their homes amidst the greatest peaks: a harsh world, a world of few colours, of bedrocks and slate skies, vultures and ravens, scavengers and cannibal beasts. The frontiers, the cradle of the human race, remained their home for the better part of their youth but not for long: the harsh winds and scant foods compelled them to descend to the wetlands below, from the harsh territories and the land-borne diseases proliferating their caves, caverns and subterranean haunts.

In time, nations were forged, kingdoms rose, and empires marked their borders with the blood of their conquests—watched, of course, by their brethren in the mountains, the remnants who had chosen to stay behind, the aboriginal sorcerers: the Exalossi, who chose the mountains as their home, the Exalos rime, the enigmatic, strong and the detectors, removed from their humane elements, removed perhaps from the limits of their being.

And now: the Exalossi have become mythic beings capable of feats unequaled by any of the lowlands. Inhabitants of a realm seated at the edge of the world, amidst the horrors of the old worlds, their borders marked only by gargantuan statues carved along the mountains' spines, the only entrance into this divine realm being the Promise Gate. It has become a place of pilgrimage for the most devout of believers, those who venerate Exalos into deific proportions, those who traverse all landscapes in attempt to pass into the promised land, those who end up lost within the high tundras.

The Promise Gate has remained closed.

Yet stories remain of men and women who journeyed into the promised land and were met with paradise filled with cities vast enough to dwarf the mightiest of empires, warriors who can attack with precision, horses and birds made of brass, atlases the size of ten thousand men and perhaps even more; and whether these tales are truth or myth is but a past matter, as only a lone Exalossi guards the Promise Gate and he's the silent sort, preferring to mindless guard duty over equally mindless conversations. Now, however, humanity can do nothing but pray that the myths be true, that salvation lies amidst the forever-frost of the Exalossi Mountains on the edge of the world, for a threat has bore its fangs in the west, and has crushed all in its wake; nothing but ash left with its passing.

But when faced with cataclysm, the nations whom once had been proud were shattered by an enemy they knew nothing of. Now with no nations left to call home, it is time for the refuse of the lower realm to march their remnants to the Promise Gate and face their only way of survival; Exalos, the Last Kingdom.

The story will start off at the Gates of Exalos and will largely take place within the confines of the Exalossi realm. If you have any questions feel free to ask, in regards to myself or the story. I have a discord server where like-minded writers congregate and discuss both this idea and other things when we have time to do so. We also do our OOC there. I'll PM you the link, of course.

My expectations of the roleplayers are simply to take the setting seriously and remain thematic and realistic in your character portrayals. I will be honest and state that I don't really wish to have any writing requirements aside from quality. I don't really like seeing single paragraph posts, so at least try to keep it at a more expressive manner so long as you are able to keep yourself interested and everyone else equally so. Some interested in the story, myself included, tend to write posts larger than the average poster, but do not feel compelled to equal ours; just have fun.

There will probably be a demand for one post per week, but I would like to hear from you at least once a day just so I'm sure I know you're still in it and doing good. I'm a bit of a control freak, so please do accomodate my intrusiveness.

Now comes the question on whether I double down on the ambiguity or not; all in all, 'twas a jokier way of saying that I was interested

I see, do you wish to join the discord? Or would you prefer waiting without it.
