Hmmm...

Interesting group...
I think?
A girl Hibiki didn't notice took his photo without asking, which annoyed him a little but as long as she doesn't post it online it should be fine. Hopefully. Hibiki listen to the shark toothed girl scold him, Hibiki simply shrugged at her. "I did introduce myself though." Hibiki responded back bluntly. He decided to look at the boy who started the discussion ignoring the shark toothed girl, he really doesn't like his picture being taken without his consent. "You're quite the debbie downer huh?" Hibiki replied honestly at the boy's pessimism towards their follow students and teacher. "... I'm here to save and protect people." Hibiki answered honestly. "If that ain't your main point of coming here, than you in for a time of disappointment and frustration." Hibiki said honestly once more with venom in his voice. He really hated those who only wanted to prove their powers.

Hibiki tapped his chin once, twice, thrice, it would appear the Emvi girl agreed with him at least. "Yes, that's all we can do but I have a feeling with some of us their best won't be good enough if their heart and soul isn't in it." Hibiki said To Emvi as plainly as possible. "If you cannot consider dying for a total stranger you aren't gonna make it far as a Pro-hero." Hibiki said. "The second we signed up for this school we signed a contract that says we are willing to kill and die for the common people..." Hibiki continue some more, he knew the potential cost of heroics. "I wonder if any of us are willing to pay that price yet?" Hibiki mused aloud. He knew he was. Or he thinks he does.

Hibiki suddenly let out a chuckle, more nervous than anything else, "How rude of me to call you a Debbie downer while I went off the hand rails just now, huh?" Hibiki said to Manabu in a good natured manner, being honest was so weird, he wanted to act edgy but all it does pushes people away so maybe being honest will keep people around. He hoped his little topic doesn't creep them out.

Seems like things were already getting heated. Though the new arrival apologized to Manabu, there was no telling how the other student was going to take his words. Even for Emvi, Hibiki seemed pretty intense, which was...good? It was probably a good thing when it came to attending a hero school, but the real question was whether or not he was going to be able to work with some of the "less serious" students, as it were. Hopefully the entire thing would simply blow over with a well-timed apology, but at worse, this could shift into a rather serious rivalry. Were the boy's dislike for Manabu's dismissive take on the situation not enough, Emvi's mind immediately kicked back into overdrive as she attempted to figure out whether or not the line about simply passing on the back of a Quirk was directed towards her. Was she signaling something to Hibiki, or was he reminding her of something important?

Come on Emvi, this isn't something worth pressing yourself over, it was just a one-off statement! Emvi said to herself, her thoughts quickening despite her attempts to put them down. What she thought she had suppressed in her changing stall returned as it it had been there all along, and Emvi once more found herself wondering whether or not she'd become the laughing stock of the class if her Quirk didn't do something spectacular. Surely there were other students there who didn't have the flashiest things available, right? Did flash even really matter in a hero course? Well, maybe, civilians like looking at flashy heroes, don't they? Maybe that was a grading component.

"W-Well! Um--I think that regardless of what people are here for, everyone is going to, uh...Y'know, do their best at whatever it is they want!" Her response wasn't exactly the strongest thing in the book, either in words or in tone, but it was the first thing that leapt to her mind (something which was potentially detrimental). Either way, it was far too late for her to even begin thinking about taking her words back.

Daisuke smiled when the boy stretched his hand out. He grabbed his hand and shook it firmly. “Daisuke Oshiro,” he responded. Daisuke then continued walking towards the training ground, expecting the big guy to follow him. He saw that a good deal of students were already there. He wanted to catch up and not get left behind. “Psyched for the training today?”
Leusis Leusis (forgive me for the pitifully small post)

Manabu raised his eyebrow at Hibiki. Debbie downer, what on earth was that? Was it a person? Maybe it was some sort of term that kids used these days? Either way, it left the young man pretty confused.

“My name isn’t Debbie though…” He said quietly out loud, but it was more meant for himself as a spoken thought. This was one of the times where he wished he got out more and talked to people his age. Perhaps he wouldn’t be as confused as he was now. Would the others find his lack of vocabulary to be a symbol of stupidity? Manabu didn’t really like the fact that they would find him unintelligent, but in the long run he had never really cared what anyone thought of him. Other than his parents, of course.

Despite his confusion, Manabu listened to what Hibiki had to say, finding the conversation to be quite interesting. “Did we sign a contract like that?” He asked, thinking about the things they had gone through to get into this school. His parents had looked over all the paper work and just told him to sign, so perhaps he had missed it. What a shame. “I’ve never really understood that mentality. How could you risk your own life for someone you don’t even know? Is the fame really worth your own life?” He asked with genuine curiosity. Manabu always wanted to know the answer to these questions from a real-life person. Most pro-heroes just gave sappy, staged, responses.

“Ah, so it was an insult then.” Manabu said out loud in response to the somewhat-apology. Insults never bothered him. “Were you going off the rails? I didn’t notice.” He had always had a pretty hard time dealing with tone. He had noticed the change in Hibiki’s speaking voice, but he wasn’t sure why that was. Manabu had probably upset him with his words, that’s usually why people insulted each other, because they were upset. “Upsetting you wasn’t my goal, but it’s natural to be rude to those who upset you. Probably.”

He looked to Emvi, just now acknowledging the fact that she spoke after formulating his response to Hibiki. “Well, yes, doesn’t everyone try their best at everything they do?” He asked her, not even being able to try and understand that fact that people could actually half-ass something, or even no-ass it.

Claudia DiamanteLookin’ good, soldier boy.” She flashed him a grin and thumbs up, before returning to her folded arms pose and gaze at the class. “Yeah, it’s just 1-A. Doom-n-Gloom hasn't said anything as of yet, thank God. I don’t think I can manage another second of her ‘bein’ a hero’s real dangerous’ talk.” She tapped a finger on her arm and noted that a girl with straw-blonde hair had broken off from her group and looked to be making a beeline for the couple. She ignored her for the time being, choosing to continue her conversation with Shane. “What do you think is with Ms. Ink Death? Is she just messing with us? I just checked on my phone- there’s nothing about a hero’s death. Or is it just her time of the month?

It was about then the other blonde, who promptly introduced herself as Stella, barged into their conversation. She wasn't going to say it was all too unexpected. She did, after all, see her approach. Still, the way she talked, the way she moved, she was like some kind of intrepid reporter looking for the next big scoop. Claudia wasn't as annoyed as she was just intrigued by how much she had underestimated the sheer amount of vibrant colours this class held. Raven boy, peppy Matt, anti-social Toki, shy-as-heck Kimi, soldier boy Shane, and now camera bug Stella.

Eugh.” She gave a sound of disgust, but it was clearly she wasn't offering it to the girl’s suggestion, but rather another idea altogether. “You wouldn’t catch me dead in this get up in a photo. You wouldn’t mind if you waited until this whole damned hardcore hero gym session is over, would you?” She, honestly, didn't really mind too much, but it gnawed on the back of her mind that whatever first image camera girl here had was going to be a first impression for anyone who looked at the image. She took a second’s hesitation before sighing, and drew back her hair to a ponytail. With one hand holding the tail in place, she extracted a hairband from her pocket and tied it to her ponytail. With that, she rested one hand on her hip. “Though I suppose this look could work, for one or two shots. What do you think, Fischer?” she directed a glance towards her companion, before returning to Stella. “Name’s Claudia, by the way. The handsome one here’s Fischer.

Hoho. Another student had joined the fray, and of their own accord, too. That meant they had no right to complain about a photoshoot. Well, if you asked Stella it did.

Usual routine. Camera. Flash. Question.

"Isn't it rude to butt into a conversation without introducing yourself?" She actually didn't care, but passive aggressiveness tended to do wonders for this kind of thing. "And putting the test, or whatever we're doing aside, there's a difference between being upfront and being a jerk." Like the difference between her parents, at her sister's attestation, was one such example of that. She wasn't the type to care herself, but her sister's constant insistence on ' having tact' had rubbed off on her a little more than she liked to admit.

Really, her family was just bad influences all around. But that was probably why she liked them.

"But, yeah, like, whatever I guess. She must be good at something if she got the job." Maybe she was just the drill sergeant type. God, she hoped not. "I don't think it really matters what kind of test she gives us. We just need to, like, do it, yeah? Estimation is only good for boring people and stalling." Like her. What was the point in trying to figure out if she'd have them kick a ball or not? Small talk really was the worst. "Speaking of, seeya."

Without much hesitation, Stella turned from the group and sent herself out to hone in a new target. She'd planned on doing something along the lines of laying low when she got here, but she hadn't expected to get bored this quickly. In a conversation she'd begun herself, none the less. They weren't all bad, but the first day was a time for action, not uh, bonding.

Blondie and Stiff. Targets locked.

"Hi there. Stella. Doing the new class rounds. Can I take your photos?" In and out, she decided. Quick and clean. Or dirty, if they said no.

Unless they said something good, at least.
Claudia DiamanteLookin’ good, soldier boy.” She flashed him a grin and thumbs up, before returning to her folded arms pose and gaze at the class. “Yeah, it’s just 1-A. Fischer shrugged at her question of his first impression of Ink. He spoke in quieter volumes, "I don't know. Possibility one, she might have ptsd, insomnia, trauma-induced paranoia, so on. It's common in the military. Pro heroism is probably not that different."

He held out a finger, counting the possibilties. "Two, bad timing. Could be what you were referring to, but could be other personal things. Or three, and it could be an act for the new recruits, she's a bitch. Family said they do that at boot camp. Some teachers think school and boot camp are the same thing."

Fischer dropped his hand and cleared his throat.

"I reserve the right to withhold judgement until further notice. And I plead the fifth."

Fischer's gaze snapped towards another blonde girl when he noticed her trajectoey towards them.

His eyes widened slightly at the thought of pictures. "Is this how school picture day works? I mean, sure, but..."

That train of though derailed when Claudia introduced him as handsome.

Wait, what. That took a moment to process, but eventually he blurted out, "You think I'm handsome?"

To his credit, he managed to keep a great poker face when he swiveled his head back to face Claudia. But he was honestly kind of touched. That was a new one.

Whatever else happened was sort of lost on him.

"Well I mean, not always," Emvi replied, seeming somewhat struck by Manabu's confusion, "sometimes people don't do their best because they don't really want to be doing what they're doing. Or, sometimes they don't do their best because they don't need to. Depending on who you are and what you're doing, sometimes only a little bit is enough." The further into her own explanation she went, the more pessimistic the entire thing sounded to Emvi, but that was how the world worked, right? "It's like, um...If you know that you can move something with a wheelbarrow, why bother going and bringing your car around, you know?" There, that was a little more benign and sensible.

She stopped there, falling silent for a moment, as if unsure whether or not to continue speaking. "...Also, 'Debbie Downer' is just an expression. It, um..." Would it really be a good idea to clarify another potential insult while the air was this tense? "Actually, nevermind. Don't worry about it, it's not a big deal." She offered an uneasy smile, before reaching up to vigorously scratch at the back of her head. There was no way that she was qualified to speak on what it really means to risk your life, as well as the motivations attached to something like that, so she simply let the thought slide and hoped that it would either die, or that Hibiki would take up that immense conversational burden.

"I-I know your name isn't Debbie....." Was all Hibiki could say at the other's boys obliviousness. He didn't even have time to think up a serious thought process beyound just clearing up the name confusion. Manabu's whole thought process was rather confusing the more Hibiki talked to him, he took thing so literally, it was kinda unbelievable. "I mean...uh... yeah we might as well have." Hibiki said more hesitantly. When Manabu asked if dyign was worth the fame, Hibiki bit his lip almost to the point of bleeding. It took everything in him not to freak out at that question. "It shouldn't be about the fame or money, or anything like that... one becomes a hero for goodness's sake... ideally." Hibiki said less than confidently... was he was wrong about his classmates?

When Manabu realized he just insulted him Hibiki just stared at him as the one he insulted just apologize to him! Him! the one who just insulted him! "I still shouldn't have gone off like that... this is just our first day after all... everybody here will just hammer in that our lives aren't truly ours anymore...we have to share our lives to the world at large... so I just find it strange that people would just throw that away for any reason that isn't altruistic..." Hibiki answered honestly. God he was being so weird today with this honesty crap!

Hibiki only half listened to Emvi's explanation he was now wondering if all of these students are truly good people... No they have to be, why else would they throw their lives away like this? To be used as a living weapon by the law. Hibiki chose this life because he knew he had no other option with his quirk. As his parents often told him. Hibiki raised his arms up in front of him and suddenly large bones emerged from the skin in jagged and seemingly random directions, but it wasn't he calculated and manifested the bones in such a manner to be seen by everybody. "I heard you talking about yours quirks in the class room... mine is 'Organic matter creation'." Hibiki said bluntly, suddenly the bones submerged back into his arm with a "slurp" sound as the calcuim and other minerals found in those bones return back into the body for future use. "I can create any organic matter in the human body and as well as modify any existing matter... to a degree." Hibiki said honestly. "...I hope this class starts soon, I've been antsy all morning to fully use my quirk."

When a hand grabbed her shoulder, Alex almost passed out in all honesty, it had frightened her so much that she screamed out "NO!". Not even realizing that it was just Matt trying to be nice and help she was almost sure she was being attacked. Green flaming wings shot out from her back, luckily not burning through all of her clothing because they had been made with the same material the rest of her clothes is made from. Matt would probably be feeling a little tan right now given where he was standing when the flames sprouted from her. Alex ran over to Kimi, while covering her chest she was sure that her clothes had already burned off her. She hugged into Kimi, making sure that her flames never go to close to her. "I cant get married now" she said.

Soon after she looked down and realised that her clothing was fine. She let go of Kimi and backed away. Her flames dispersed and she crouched down, grabbing her knees, a sobbed a little. "I was sure that these outfits wouldn't be tailored to my needs" She simply said in a low very nervous voice, "I thought they would burn off". She stayed Huddled up like that on the ground for a bit.

Matt jumped and backed up, in the midst of panicking he felt the back of his left food collide with the toes of his right foot, he had tripped on himself. How lame. He raised his knees up, but not to his chest, he didn't want to look that sad. He just rested his arms on his knees and stared at Alex. Why did he think doing that was going to help. He should have stuck to himself. It's not like she was being attacked, but still, Matt thought that it was a good idea to help in trivial things too.

Matt saw Alex bend down and start sobbing. Why did he do that. He shouldn't have done that, now instead of helping he made her cry. Why was he even here. He couldn't help with something so trivial as calming her down. What's the point of being here if he couldn't even help. Matt didn't realize he was doing it, but since she yelled he hadn't stopped mumbling. "Sorry, sorry. I'm sorry, I couldn't help. Sorry I didn't help, I just made it worse. Sorry about making it harder for you. I just slow you down, I'm sorry."

When it finally hit him that he had been mumbling he stopped. He just stopped moving, he stopped breathing for as long as he could too. If someone walked by they might have thought he was a statue. But eventually he had to breathe, but when he did he started to stand up. He walked over to the wall of the school and sat against it. He was staring at the ground in front of his legs. He'll just wait to do anything else. Why try and make more people upset by talking to them. He definitely couldn't talk to Alex, he would just make it worse. He'll say sorry properly later. Who messes up that bad. He didn't want to look at the damage he did. Why do I always make it harder for people. Why couldn't I just help. He would be crying at this point, but he was too far in his own head that he couldn't feel anything.

Manabu thought about the words that were going around him. It was weird to think that everyone didn’t try their best, but he supposed it made sense. Not trying ones best in a situation where quirks were involved was always a bad thing though. That led to underestimation and death, he certainly wasn’t going to half-ass anything like that.

“Interesting…thanks.” He looked to Emvi with a face that was a little less cold than usual. Manabu enjoyed gaining new information. He let the topic of being a Debbie Downer go since she said it wasn’t important. He didn’t need to store anything in his brain that wasn’t considered important, and he kind of trusted this girl. She was helpful.

Becoming a hero for the sake of being good…? Manabu thought to himself. There was that cookie cutter answer that heroes always gave. He supposed it was a mistake to expect Hibiki to say anything besides that. Was that just how heroes or wannabe heroes thought? He still didn’t understand how someone could risk their life like that just to be considered ‘good.’ There had to be some ulterior motive. No one would do such a thing without gaining anything themselves.

“Humans are naturally selfish creatures, so the idea of everyone here being here just to be good is…unbelievable, to me.” He said with a small hint of confusion. “But if you’re here for that kind of reason, then others must feel the same way. Fascinating.”

Manabu watched Hibiki showed off his power. “That seems pretty powerful. So you can just pick up any old rock and turn it into an apple or something?”

She was one of the few that stood apart. Removed from conversation as the class continued to divide into little cliques. The majority of the groups were the same ones from the classroom. Alas, she hadn't truly joined any of those groups then and so she still didn't now. Instead she opted to simply observe. To see what her classmates brought to the table. From horny vampires to rigid soldiers and the mentally unstable... A lot of mental instability. Getting a chance to just take it all in she found her classmates to be very subdued to put it nicely. She was sure she wasn't helping that image, but still. It seemed like the entirety of the class could be divided so cleanly with the largest group being those mentally unstable kids. Stuttering, crying, freaking out over the smallest things. And she thought she had issues with her Mom. Watching these kids completely lose it before class even properly began at least made her appreciate the fortitude her childhood gave her. Even if there wasn't much else to enjoy about it.

She shifted her focus to other students. They would be the second main group. And the group she's going to stay a member of if she's not careful. Even if it was the group she belonged in her highschool life would just go spiraling downhill if she stayed in it. But goddamn everyone who wasn't having a mental break was just such a gloomy person. She could count on one hand the number of students who actually seemed excited about being there. Overall the majority of her classmates seemed like less than stellar options for future hang-outs. She'd either have to play guidance counselor or start slitting her wrists if she befriended them. That ultimately left a very narrow selection of people she actually wanted to approach. The top contenders being the horny vampire and the girl he lusted after, although if she was honest it was more the girl than the vampire that caught her interest. Or Claudia and her footman with the photography girl tagging along.

At least they all seemed fairly well adjusted. With a deep breath she decided that she'd at least introduce herself before the teacher kicked things off. With that in mind she made her way for the horny vampire and the raven-haired girl. As she approached she caught the vampire's question. She came to a stop a couple feet away, speaking up for the two of them to hear. "Probably just your standard quirk aptitude tests. See where we all stand so they can have a starting point to judge our progress." She was all too familiar with testing quirks. Over the years she had to show her growth, to show her mother how much stronger her quirk was, how much better she could wield it. She saw no reason why a hero school wouldn't need the same information. If they didn't have a baseline they'd have no way of knowing if the students were actually improving or not.

"The real question is whether or not they're specifically tailored to each of us or not." She shifted her gaze off towards nothing. That last part came out as more of an absent-minded whisper, an internal thought that managed to slip it's way out. With the wide variety of quirks everyone was sure to have it didn't seem like any standardized testing would work. But it's not like she spent much time looking up what hero school curriculums were like. Realizing that she hadn't actually gotten to the introduction part of introducing herself she refocused her attention on the duo and gave them both a smile. "Name's Toki. Nice to meet ya." Now if only she could get the topic off hero-stuff and onto something more fun. She wasn't hopeful at the prospect, but she'd sure give it a try. The alternative was to stand there bored out of her mind while pretending to care about her classmates gushing on about heroes.

Kimi stood looking rather taken back as Mathew's attempt to ease Alex instead resulted in her jumping and tearing up. She watched the girl run to her standing there a bit baffled as she could see Alex's green flame wings protruding out from her back. She was taken back as the timid Alex came in crashing with a hug into her, holding herself as if she was left exposed. She stared on, rather then a bashful look instead a rather plan expression lingering on her face. It was as if she was a completely different person for a brief second before snapping back to reality. A blush formed on her face as her hands hesitantly hugged Alex as to try and comfort her, careful to not be too touchy both to avoid touching the flame and to not make her uncomfortable.

"It.... it's okay... I'm... I'm sure you are... okay." She spoke not really certain how to react to her saying such a thing. It wasn't a term she really heard mention before. She felt her pull away as she seemed to realize her clothing hadn't burned away, blushing a bit more realizing what she had thought had happened when her flames were activated. She looked at the girl, slowly walking a bit close as she was hurdled down, looking down simply observing it not really seeming all that familiar with that type of react. She looked up to see Mathew reacting in his own way as he repeatedly said sorry before venturing away to the wall keeping some distance. Her blank expression returned as she seemed to be taking it in trying to formulate what she is even suppose to do in such a situation. She leaned over close to Alex, avoiding touching her as to not scare her. Comforting... that was what she remembered what the people did on those movies and tv shows when someone in a condition like hers.

"Your clothing is fine. It's.... it's okay." She spoke seeming to stumble back into her shyness near the end as she looked to Alex making sure she was comfortable before very lightly putting her hands on her shoulders from the front. She put on a smile, attempting to cheer her up a bit though perhaps coming off a bit unintentionally awkward in the process not being sure how to fully react. "E... everything is going to be o... okay now." She spoke out keeping up the light smile in hopes of encouraging her to get back up. Mathew was still there suffering from his own problems, but for now she figured it would be bes tto deal with Alex first before trying to figure out what to do for him. As easy as it would be to leave it as it was, it only made sense to her that she would do her best to fix the problem.

"Revvy" She repeated as Dante came running over to her. She stood dumbfound for a moment as if she was processing what he had just called her. It took her a second to realize that he had just given her a cute new nick name. "Awe, look at you trying to be cute" she said with a little blush. "I'll accept this new name, but only you can call me it alright" she said teasing him a little bit. "she noticed that he had been wearing a nervous expression. She giggled a bit. "you know you dont have to be nervous around me, I'm only teasing you a bit" She said. "But I do wish they had made clothing thats the right size for me" She said reaching down pulling on the band of her pants that was bar tight.

Suddenly a new girl walked over giving Dante the answer to the question she was unsure of. "Well if its like the aptitude tests we did in middle school then they probably wont be, and that would suck for me" She said. The girl introduced her self as Toki. "Hey Toki, I'm Rebecca, this is Dante" She said with a smile. Suddenly her attention refocused to Toki's chest. "Hmm, you intimidate me a little bit to be blunt but I wont lose to you that easily" she said giving Toki a wild smile as she extended her hand to her for a handshake.

Matt thought to himself. Why was he just sitting there, he probably looks so lame. He should just try and talk to someone else. Matt looked up to see Kimi calming down Alex to the best of her abilities. Matt knew that he shouldn't go over there yet. Matt thought he should just talk to someone else until they're done talking. But he knew he needed to apologize for being so dumb. But doing nothing wasn't the answer. Time to get up, c'mon. He needed to tell himself to get up, because the one person he could always try and help was himself.

Matt pushed down on his knees pushing himself up. He did a stretch and threw on his smile. He looked at Kimi and threw a thumbs up her way. He needed to look okay so no one worried, though he already knew he did something stupid. Maybe he should go talk to the Toki girl. She seemed nice. But he also doesn't know her at all. Maybe he should go talk to someone new, that seems like the best choice. But who? Matt was looking around trying to figure out which person to talk to. There was that boot camp guy and his friend. Fischer and Claudia? Yeah, that had to be right. They seemed to be talking to someone new.

Matt decided that's who he would talk to. Someone he met, but didn't know, and someone totally new. He walked over to the small group. Maybe it was just Mat but Claudia seemed like she might have been a little annoyed. But he was already walking over there, so turning around would look weird, and he did want to talk to them. I guess they're talking about looks? Matt smiled and tried talking casually. "Hey, Fischer and Claudia right? Looks like you guys found everything fine, not that I thought you wouldn't, but still." He gave a smile and pivoted his eyes over to the new girl. He put out his hand and smiled brightly. "Hi, my names Mathew Pilles, but I go by Matt." Introducing yourself with a positive energy was the best way to make friends. Most of the time. Matt had one ore two exceptions.

Dante

She must never know that wasn't just an attempt to be cute.

He must have stepped on a leprechaun whilst walking through a field of four-leaf clovers that morning. Not only did she not mind the name, she thought it was cute and wanted it to be his special nickname for her! At this point, the events of that morning were but a distant memory. It was unlikely that anything could spoil the good mood he now had.

"you know you dont have to be nervous around me, I'm only teasing you a bit"

Yeah, why should he be nervous? He took a breath, his posture relaxing into one much more natural. Revy had made it abundantly clear that, for one, she didn't mind his quirk, for two, that she didn't mind him checking her out, and for three.. well, that she was not one to suddenly jump on him for messing up.

"Probably just your standard quirk aptitude tests. See where we all stand so they can have a starting point to judge our progress."

Dante's head turned to see who had spoken. He listened as she described what the tests were probably going to be. Yeah, it made sense that they'd want a baseline, given they weren't supposed to be publicly using their quirks before now. Not that it'd really stopped him, but still. She introduced herself as Toki, and Dante recognized her as the other backrow corner seat. She'd seemed particularly gloomy this morning, but now she seemed a bit more approachable. Maybe she just wasn't a morning person?

He stayed a bit quiet as Revvy introduced them both, nodding his head politely when his name was mentioned. He didn't fail to notice that she didn't offer her nickname to the new girl. Maybe he really was just fortunate she had taken a liking to him rather quickly.

"Hmm, you intimidate me a little bit to be blunt but I wont lose to you that easily"

Dante blinked, not sure what Revvy was talking about until he followed her gaze. Immediately he forced his eyes elsewhere, hoping he wasn't noticed. Did all the girls in this class have such.... endowments?... He didn't dare look now, lest he be called a pervert on the first day. He took a breath to settle himself. He needed to calm down. Last thing he needed to do was act like a spazz and convince Revvy that he wasn't worth her time.

"It's nice to meet you Toki." he nodded politely, making sure to keep his eyes up. He didn't fail to notice two students having breakdowns, but for now, he didn't think bringing attention to it would do much good. Let them settle on their own. "Whatever the assessment is, it should be interesting to get a glimpse of what everyone can do. I just hope there aren't many people in this class that get squeamish around blood...." he admitted rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish smile that showed off his particularly long fangs. After the fight this morning, and adjusting to Revvy's... unique... personality, he was finally starting to settle down into himself. Sure, he was still a bit awkward, but at least he was making decent conversation without falling to pieces like some people.

His eyes turned towards Revvy, recalling that she said non-tailored assessments would be bad for her. "I just realized I never asked, what's your quirk Revvy?" Dante inquired curiously. She knew his quirk, after all, but he hadn't had a chance to find out about hers yet. Then there was Toki's to find out about too, at least until the teacher decided to actually start this...

Toki gave a small nod of understanding. A lot of the more generic tests really weren't suited for her quirk either. Still, you'd think some prestigious academy would tailor the tests to the individual student. Or maybe not. Wasn't like any of it really mattered to her. All she had to do was get a passing grade. "Rebecca and Dante.." She repeated the names, giving each of the two a nod to go along with the name. Before she could do anything more than confirm their names Rebecca was peering intently at her and proclaiming she was intimidated but wouldn't lose. Toki's smile instantly faded, replaced with a look of total bewilderment. Why would she be intimidated? Nobody there knew about her past, or her experience, or her quirk. There wasn't anything the other girl should be intimidated about. She spent several noticeably long seconds staring at the raven-haired girl in confusion before tentatively extending her own hand to return the shake.

"A-alright. Uh... Let's both do our best?" How do you even respond to that? She gave a slight shake of her head to throw off the confusion and return her smile to her lips. "I don't think I've done anything to intimidate anyone, though." She looked over at the boy who interjected his own part of the conversation. Her hand still gently clasping Rebecca's as she focused on what Dante had to say. "I'm..." There was the briefest of pauses as she quickly caught herself. No need to lay that on people she just met. Only skipping a single beat she continued, doing her best to play it off as just thinking of her words. "Not that concerned with blood. Seen plenty of it while training. But we shouldn't be aiming to hurt people, though." Obviously eventually there would be injuries and blood, but it wasn't something they should aim for on something as simple as a quirk aptitude test. To think someone was willing to push themselves so hard they'd start bleeding on a mere entry-level test. That was exactly why she didn't like hero-obsessed people.

Rebecca had smiled a little when Toki had said "Lets both do our best" but her face dropped a little when she had replied with how she didn't think that she had intimidated anyone before. Rebecca almost burst out laughing. This girl is obviously too innocent for her own good She thought to herself. She looked over to Dante who had said said something about people getting squeamish around blood. "Well you know there will be few, especially with those whose parents aren't pro heros, or haven't been training a whole lot" She said. When Toki spoke up on the same thing her statement about people getting hurt kind of made Becca wonder what she was talking about. She realized then that Toki probably had no idea what Dante's quirk was. "Oh he means his own blood, he uses blood manipulation" She said.

When Dante asked about Rebecca's quirk she stopped and thought about what to say for a moment, then she smiled. "You know Dante a girl cant give away all of her secrets" She said sticking out her tongue, "you have to leave something to the imagination, but maybe I'll show you while we are alone some time". She smiled and turned back to Toki, "Just kidding of course but its better to show you than to tell you, and it wont work well out here. So Toki what's your quirk? What sort of things do you like to do for fun?" She asked trying to get to know someone other than Dante as well, though she realized that she didn't really know Dante that well either, she just thought he was cool.

"Well you know there will be few, especially with those whose parents aren't pro heros, or haven't been training a whole lot"

"I'm- Not that concerned with blood. Seen plenty of it while training. But we shouldn't be aiming to hurt people, though."

"Oh he means his own blood, he uses blood manipulation"

On one hand, Dante didn't really need to say much in this conversation, but on the other hand, it gave him a chance to observe. He nodded, confirming what Revvy said about his quirk. It was understandable that some people wouldn't know about his Quirk. Given Revvy knew about it immediately, he kinda took it for granted that everyone knew about it. He had to remember this wasn't like his old school, and people weren't just plain terrible here.

"Yeah, I should have explained that better. Like Revvy said, my Quirk revolves around blood." Dante explained. His head turned to Revvy when she started to talk about her own quirk.

"You know Dante a girl cant give away all of her secrets. You have to leave something to the imagination, but maybe I'll show you while we are alone some time"

A bit of a flush got on Dante's cheeks, but he managed a playful smirk back at her when he realized she was, as usual, messing with him. She certainly did enjoy flirting with him every chance she got, and admittedly, he enjoyed the attention. He wanted to know more about her, but for the moment the topic of conversation had shifted to Toki. He hoped that her suggesting they spend time together was genuine and not purely part of the flirting.

"Since we're sharing, why don't you tell us what you like to do, too?" Dante asked curiously, figuring now was as good a time as any to learn more about Revvy. Of course, if they asked, he'd tell them what he enjoyed doing, too. Odds are, it would be just about the last thing they expected from someone like him. Shifting his gaze back to Toki, "Feel free to ask questions about us, too, if you have any" he offered with a fanged smile, realizing he and Revvy had been asking all the questions so far.

Ah, young love. A lovely sight to be beheld, to be captured within a still shot of time and be treasured forevermore. Or just kept on her phone until she needed to make space.

Snap. If a certain someone was paying attention, they'd notice that the flash had finally been disabled.

For the lucky couple, Stella squeezed to faces into one frame. She could shop them apart later, though they actually did look pretty decent together. Light and dark hair playing off of each other, contrast, yin and yang, et cetera and so on. She was just about to put her phone away and leave the couple to flirt when, low and behold, another factor added itself to their social equation. One 'Matt'. He had a photogenic enough looking face, too. Was cutting into a conversation reason enough for her to take his photo? Probably. So, snap. One more photo added to the collection.

"Stella." Before he had a chance to complain, she took his hand, put on her best smile, and introduced herself. "Matt, Fischer, and Claudia. Those are easy enough to spell. Thanks for your co-operation. The people in this class are actually pretty open to having their photo taken, surprisingly. Back in NY there was a lot more uh- A lot more swearing. Not as much punching as you'd think, though." She'd only gotten like, what, two black eyes? And the second one had left the other guy looking way worse off than she did, without her even lifting a muscle. Good Samaritans, saving a damsel in distress! It'd almost been enough to make her swoon, but she wasn't her sister. The heart of Stella Cain belonged to one thing and one thing only.

And it wasn't cute boys.

"Could I get your Quirks too? First-hand accounts are usually better for documentation purposes than just waiting and watching." If they were the tight-lipped type, she could probably settle for the latter. But they seemed open-handed enough, despite their stiffness. Acted like they actually wanted to be here too, unlike the gloom brigade she'd holed up with earlier.

Fingers crossed.

Matt was surprised that this girl took a picture of him, at least he was almost 100% sure that it was a picture. Her phone was locked on him and it made that stereotypical camera sound. "Magnetism. I uh, I am like a big magnet. Did you take a picture of me? Let me see it. It probably sucks, I wasn't ready at all."

Matt chuckled as he tried looking over the shoulder of Stella. Actually it was more like he was just looking over Stella completely. Matt was pretty tall for his age though, but from the looks of it some of the other boys hit a double XP bonus during there growth spurts because the one that got into a fight looked over six foot.

Matt was trying to see the phone and after looking at her face realized that she might have been the first person to smile so much that he's met so far. She has a nice smile. Wait, what am I thinking about!? She is the first person to smile so much so far. Matt liked that she was smiling. What a strange thing to focus on. Why did she take a picture of me anyway? Matt started to realize that he was wanting to see the picture, he was probably make a dumb face, it was so unexpected.

His own blood? Blood manipulation? Well, that at least made things more clear. And it elevated Dante in her mind, at least he wasn't some fanatic who'd hurt himself over a silly test. Or, maybe he wasn't. They haven't taken the test yet so who knows what the future will hold. She looked over at Dante as he elaborated, even if just a little, on what his quirk was. "Oh, well, I guess that's fine then." For lack of a better response she let some of her internal thoughts leak out. She gently twiddled with her thumbs during the blatant flirting. It was more than a little awkward how heavy Becca was going for it. Heavy to the point that her cheeks flushed ever-so-slightly with the second-hand embarrassment. Soon enough the conversation switched focus back to her as they asked about her quirk. "I can create shields. I'd show you, but it isn't really something I can just do on a whim." Of course, if they were going to be tested on their quirks she'd be showing them soon enough anyways. The thought of having to deal with that in front of her new classmates caused her cheeks redden even further. It wasn't a bad quirk overall, but the requirements it had were really unpleasant for her.

However, the second question was something she jumped at. Anything to steer the conversation in a new direction. "Fun? Hmmm.." She brought her hand up, gently tapping her chin with her index finger as she thought over an acceptable answer. Ever since moving to America she hadn't really done much in the way of fun, so she'd just have to fall back on the old things. "Well, nothing amazing really. I play games, hang out with friends, go swimming. That kind of stuff." None of it was a lie, it's just other than the gaming part she hadn't done any of those things in a long while. Curious what the two of them did she followed Dante's lead. "Yeah, I'm curious about you two. Anything interesting? Or just more of the same like me?" Dante's smile didn't go unnoticed by her, either. His fangs prominent and on display. Given his pale skin, white hair, the fangs, the blood manipulation, he seemed more like a vampire than anything else. Maybe that was just the theme he was going for? In the moments of silence between question and answer she began wondering if Dante went out of his way to be pale and make his hair white. The desire to throw him in a tanning booth to see what he'd look like took root in her mind as she offered a simple smile in return. Maybe in the future.

Arya Yasuhiro | Velox
Location: Whitewater Academy, Training Grounds | Interacting With: Class 1-A
It took Arya a little longer than usual to make it to the Training Grounds. There wasn't much she had to do prior to her class, but another last-minute schedule change had her scrambling for her things. She supposed it was karma for taking the last breakfast wrap in the lounge.

When the pro hero finally came to, the students were already changed and waiting outside. It eased her nerves a bit to see they were alright and chatting among themselves, but much of first period had already passed and they couldn't waste a second more. Arya braced herself with a deep breath and called for their attention, carrying her voice with her Quirk.

"Listen up, Class 1-A!" Once the chatter had died down, she continued. "You may call me Velox, and I'll be your Hero Basic Training teacher from now on. Let me firstly remind you all of why you're here today: Whether or not your intentions line up with those around you, you've all come to Whitewater to train to become the next generation of heroes. This class is meant to prepare you for the responsibilities you face in that line of work." Arya paused then, and quietly considered the group before her. She decided to spare them the rest of the customary speech that she recited every year. The students looked strong for a scrawny first year class, and she was getting a little tired of her routine. It was time to spice things up a bit.

Feeling the shadow of a smirk grace her lips, Arya turned her back to the students and promptly stepped toward the empty field. She fished out a small remote device and activated it, a shrill beep ringing in the still air. The ground below them started to tremble as visible lines appeared to split the field. The cracks formed a large square all around the perimeter and the rumbling got louder. It was becoming apparent that something was hidden underneath the wide stretch of land. Something that was coming up. Tall, iron walls soon replaced the view of the trees beyond the Academy's boundaries. They encased most of the main training grounds---about four football fields, to give it some measure. A large entryway into the walled fortress faced the students, the Whitewater insignia carved into its metal overhang.

"Consider yourselves lucky, 1-A. This obstacle course maze is one of a kind, designed specifically to test your abilities here in Whitewater." Arya checked the time on her wrist, nodding cheerfully. "Two hours should be more than enough time. You can use your Quirk as much as you'd like, but stay within the walls. Travelling above or outside the course is prohibited. Oh- and no fighting each other either, that's another class."

"Once the timer starts, you'll all enter the maze at once. I don't care if you work together or go at it on your own, but do your best in there. Good luck!"

Click. Bright red numbers appeared in a hologram above the entire maze, counting down from 120 minutes. The ebony-haired woman waited patiently for the students to gather their bearings and enter the maze after processing her rather brash explanation. She left the contents of the obstacle course ambiguous on purpose to see how they'd deal with being thrust into an unfamiliar situation. In truth, she wasn't expecting any of them to actually make it through. Arya had the school crank up the difficulty to a third year level for the first day. The purpose of it was so she could observe Class 1-A's skills and see what they needed to improve on for future lessons. Yes, it was simply just a trial-run.

But the students didn't need to know that.

Difficulty Level: Advanced (currently impassable)
A maze filled with obstacles that a student must get through to reach the end. They are randomly generated and placed in different spots each time a new course is created. (Obstacles are open-ended - anything goes.)

The teacher had finally arrived. It took long but it was time.

"Listen up, Class 1-A!" "You may call me Velox, and I'll be your Hero Basic Training teacher from now on. Let me firstly remind you all of why you're here today: Whether or not your intentions line up with those around you, you've all come to Whitewater to train to become the next generation of heroes. I would hope that this is actually meant to prepare us, your school is looking pretty weak so far.

Consider yourselves lucky, 1-A. I could've easily just scammed by raising myself above or going outside the maze... She said we have to stay inside the maze and no fighting. She never said we couldn't damage the maze....But that would be a terrible move on my first day. Two hours is a lot of time, so much that this must be a course they don't expect us to pass. Well sorry but that's just not the case. I will pass your pathetic test. You can throw whatever you want at me, I've fought real villains. I've fought real monsters. Your obstacle course has nothing on me.

"Follow me if you want to pass."

Tsurei headed into the maze not even waiting for anyone to follow.

Interacting with: SomebodyElse SomebodyElse

As soon as the teacher appeared, there was so much to process at once that Emvi spent several moments visibly paralyzed by the sight of the maze. That thing had just come out of the ground; what else did they have hidden all over the campus? And on top of that, it was massive, and by the sound of it, an absolute death-trap for the uninitiated. How was she going to pass this, exactly? What kinds of traps are we talking here, immobilizing ones? Oh, heavens no. She was going to fail at this rate.

It took several moments too long for Emvi to snap herself out of her racing thoughts, finally pulling her eyes down and away from the tops of the looming metal walls at the sight of someone immediately going in there alone. The gloomy-looking Tsurei, of all people. Was there a great deal of hidden confidence beneath that droopy exterior, or did she just not understand how dangerous this sort of thing could be?

Of course, it wasn't as if Emvi knew how dangerous this sort of thing could be--something which she was very much aware of--but at the very least, she assumed that the maze was going to end up being very, very dangerous.

"H-Hold on Tsurei, wait a minute, m-maybe we should slow down and think about this kind of thing for a f-few minutes!" she called, stammering heavily as she ran after the girl in hopes that the maze did not immediately cut her off. Whether it was due to pressed switch, triggered censor, or crossed boundary, the maze sprung to life as she ran after Tsurei, a large series of pitfalls immediately opening up just in front of the two. The twisted maze of machinery down below betrayed the existence of many other mechanical horrors in the deep dark space beneath the training grounds. Emvi immediately skidded to a stop, letting out a high-pitched whine of fear mixed with "what the actual fuck," before managing to stumble back from the edge and take several deep, heaving breaths, followed by a long sigh of infinite relief.
