Nation Building The World of Ioria {OCC}

Great uh...questions mate x.x I didn't think about those.

Oh . . . Well I was going to have Diana bring it up and mention that they haven't figured out much at all, and kind of just say they tested a 5 mile range with some prisoners and the infected victim on a mountain or something.
I figured a 5 mile range would be the infection zone you were going for. You said after they visit a whole village could get infected somehow, so I am thinking this means they have some sort of contagious aura around them that infects people if they get in range and they are able to infect others once they are infected before it starts to show which is how a whole village can get infected after a visit.
5 miles might be a bit insane, so maybe a certain radius where they can infect a group of people around them and then those people can infect the rest of the village . . . Unless the cults are like INSANELY deadly then the whole 5 mile range thing would probably be their range which would be hella scary

I would also think based on the points that August August is raising, some creatures may or may not have a better immune system than others?

Yeah that is what I was thinking. What kind of disease is it and what if some creatures have a higher immunity? From the sounds of it, this does seem more like a magic based disease so I guess that would change a lot of the aspects of it . . .
I am curious how it spreads and if there are any countermeasures such as wearing some sort of hazard suit when in range, avoiding contact, or having a mask to cover your nose and stuff.

No one is immune. That one is a def. This disease can harm even the dead. (Bella and Arkos) As for the disease itself..its..better to assume that nothing is known about it, even from testing, because it is such a new disease. (And I have to figure out the specs with Cosmo Cosmo )

Alright, but I am still gonna have Diana theorize about there being some contagious aura being around them that infects people in range who in turn infect the other villagers. I like the theory, and it seems like an ideal theory for her to come up with since she has dealt with plagues before (or at least the Winry in her has), so they may have some ideas about how it is spread exactly . . .
And also because the people who had captured the victim got infected as well (since ya know, if you're too close you get infected like how you mentioned with the owls)

Wait, what about those with divine protection against disease? Like Naya?

I feel like the carnival cult would be their bigger issue in their kingdom since they're mostly scattered in smaller settlements outside, and connected by tunnels and paths.

So a plague would be able to do more damage than a bunch of demons fighting each other since the fights would only affect one area, but the aftermath of the Carnival cultist would be able to spread.

KhalZhavvorsa KhalZhavvorsa Sorry if I am being kind of insistent/annoying on the whole plague thing even though there is a lot more.

Studying the Bubonic Plague/ The Black Plague was one of my favorite parts of history <3
plus I have a magical science based kingdom--

Yikes! Gods. What are they good for?

Do you have some music you could listen too? Like a character theme song that gets you in the mood?
Nothing :p And I did..but its been one of those rough days where nothing helps and you just wanna ball up and cry..you know?

You're fine! I actually appreciate the prodding. Helps me to think about things.

Ouch. Yeah. As someone who suffers from anxiety, I know that feeling all to well...
Yeah..I have severe depression and anxiety..so..you know..kinda..just wanna..yeah. But I don;t wanna hold us back anymore..and people are waiting..and as a DM I'm setting a bad example.. >.<

My mom, an anxiety/chronic major depression/OCD/Bipolar, mentioned that she listens to these when she's feeling off but needs to get stuff done.

Telepopmusik - Album: Genetic World
Breathe

Loreena McKennit - Album: The Book of Secrets
The Mummers' Dance
Prologue

The rest of the albums are good for anxiety too, but these songs are the specific ones that help her.

I will give them a listen. Thank you <3

August August KhalZhavvorsa KhalZhavvorsa On le Disease:

Transmission
There is no current concrete evidence on how it is transmitted, the current theory is that the disease is spread by the 'carriers', those that did not die but, instead, were driven to insanity by the rampaging disease, or, in turn, by the bodies of those who did perish to the disease and were improperly handled by those disposing of the bodies. There have been no reports of any insects or animals carrying the infection, although they, themselves, are no more resistant to the effects. Many people believe the land is left 'blighted' after large numbers people have been infected and dead, and while there is no documented case of this being true, reports do indicate that the nearby ground and waters do have a slight emerald sheen to them.

Symptoms
The Symptoms vary drastically based upon the biology of the creature effected. In general, less.. fleshy creatures such as Wights, Golems and other such creatures tend to suffer from 'structural integrity' issues be they bone rot, decaying of the substance they are made off until they, quite literally, fall apart and despite efforts to reinforce their 'bodies' or 'heal' them using magic, rituals, runes or other such remedies have had no visible effect. As for more.. fleshy targets, according to research by more... inquisitive nations have found that it tends to develop in four stages.

Stage 1 - Incubation Period
During this period, no real symptoms are visible, but the second they contract the disease, they become infectious carriers. The time before symptoms start vary randomly, but it tends to take three to eight hours before the first symptoms begin.

Stage 2 - Prodromal Period
The early symptoms have no real distinct from many common sicknesses and illnesses, the being will develop a fever, nausea and sores will begin to form on the body.

Stage 3 - Acute Period
Within 24-72 hours, the symptoms of the disease are in full swing and it is during the later periods of this stage that the 'divide' appears between the infected. Lesions and sores will spread across the body as well as large sections of skin will bloat that tend to leak large amounts of puss and other fluids out of their various sundered skin sections. Extreme nausea and sweating plague most of the afflicted, and some will start to have delusions and hallucinations as their minds start to betray their body, many have been seen reportedly mutating their bodies and whispering various phrases often centered on a 'woman'. Initial reports assumed they were hallucinating their mothers or other maternal figures given how they held themselves and, well, the obvious literal usage of 'mother'. The ones that suffer these mental illnesses are the ones who have survived, so far, no one that has not suffered from the mental has survived.

Stage 4 - 'Ascendancy'
After a week, all the afflicted are either dead or 'changed'. Named the 'Ascendancy' after the ravings of the afflicted near the end of their Acute Period often begging someone, or something, to 'embrace' them, often including a 'mother'. Those one driven insane seem 'changed', while they regain critical and rational thought, a core 'part' of what made them.. them seems to have been altered as while they still use the same name, have the same voice, their personality is.. tweaked, as if it is a distorted, mutated versions of the people they once were. They still show their bodily symptoms from before such as the lesions and sores, but it no longer seems to bother or hinder the afflicted in any recognizable way, and more worryingly, it seems those that 'ascend' are far tougher and more 'resistant' to injuries then before as if their bodies simply no longer 'need' their major organs to function. Death still comes if given enough physical trauma, but reports of wounded 'Ascendants' carrying their severed limbs or moving despite massive lacerations.

MY THEORY ON HOW IT SPREADS IS VAGUELY CLOSE!!!!
;∀;
This is all very fascinating information

Does this mean I can bring up the theory in roleplay? Or at least what I came up with for Diana's research party to come up with before you laid the details? (;∀;

Lol I purposely added those sections under the assumption your nation was the one leading much of said research.

When you mentioned "inquestite nation" I was a child jumping in the edge of their seats like ":O me? That's me!!?! Me???"

But then I quickly humbled myself thinking you were referring to your place or an NPC kingdom--

But now I can be flattered :D

Well, you showed the most interest in finding out more about it and talked about doing the research, so.... it seemed fitting. ;D
