One Piece is by far the most popular manga in Japan. Even if they give the show a shoestring budget they're gonna be able to pull a pretty sizable audience, and they're going to be able to sell a live action line of merch or something that collectors are gonna go and buy.

...you can't be serious. I can understand if it was a live-action movie where you pay upfront before seeing whether it's bad or not, but if the T.V show is terrible, why spend money on the merchandise to support it? I'd think those people would be in the minority. I guess they are banking on the fact One Piece is so popular, but that hurts, not helps no? As much as I like Hunter x Hunter, if they made a crappy live-action, I wouldn't be buying anything. I'd be uber pissed. Would rather have nothing than something that disrespects the material for something I hold so high.

Their endgame is the destruction of anime.

Also, Zaregoto's OVA episodes are pretty good. The cinematography is excellent, as par for most SHAFT works.

After looking into the suspected production cost and what Oda had to say, I have more faith in this than Death Note. The same people are also making a live action Cowboy Bebop series, which I think could work if handled properly.

Oda is going to get played fast and hard by Hollywood - Cowboy Bebop might be decent because it's already pretty western but they won't ever be able to create a product that's as good as the original.

I'm still in the middle of my grand goal of catching up to the entire One Piece anime. Currently in the Water Seven Arc.

For the record, I only voted for K. (No offense Quirk, but JinX has too evasive a character for me to choose as best girl. If there was more time for us to see her true self, then maybe I would've been a convert.)

Assuming Janet does decide to be a desperate housewife, it'd be his word against Janet's. Thievery isn't the only motive for murder. Gimbal pked, which is a crime. In order to use self defense as an excuse, he needs to prove that Janet attacked him. If Janet denies it, it'll make it that much harder for him. Having no motive for attacking her doesn't prove that she attacked him first.
