Veril White
Location: Magus Tower Mess Hall

Veril followed Dante to the Mess hall. It seems like Veril upset him by talking too much. He probably hates him right now, how stupid could he be to immediately make the first person he's talked to in a long time hate him! He should just leave now before he causes any more damage...

"Hey, Veril. What's your job around here?"

Veril was astonished, he couldn't believe what he just heard. Dante wanted to know more about him, nobody has ever asked that to Veril! He was kinda flustered right now, as he kinda became a little nervous. What if he said the wrong thing? What if he angers everyone? What if... No he must be assertive! He must show strength in his answers!

"M-Me? I-I-I-I'm N-Nobody Special... I'm n-Not Even a fully f-fledged Mage yet... I'm st-still an apprentice... I'm. It even a good one at that..."

"Yo is that Veril the Worthless talking to the group of adventurers? HEY VERIL! Why do t you go back to studying so that you might become a Mage in twenty years! You failed excuse for a Mage! Hahahahahahahaha"

An entire table erupted in laughter, as some white haired apprentice Mage was the one who called out Veril. Oh geez now Everyone's eyes were on him, his legs seemed to be shaking really badly... But Draco's right isn't he? There's no way Veril will become a fully fledged Mage ever... He's doomed to fail... Why did he ever think that he could become a Mage... Why was he so stupid to think these people could help him... Veril looked so sad and Dejected that he didn't even know what to do.

Dante continued eating his food as Veril explained his function. At first, all seemed easy, the boy lacked courage, but that's a natural thing to be expected. Some people lacked the self-esteem to speak with confidence. But then. Then Dante heard a group nearby make fun of his new acquaintance. He turned around and gave them a scowl, but soon, he decided to take the matter into his own hands. Quickly walking over to the white-haired mage, he delivered a swift blow to the spoiled asshole's left cheek (disclaimer: not literally), that sent him flying off of his chair. Several people gasped and looked at Dante who was standing in place and staring at the bastard he just punched.

"I'm curious," he started, to draw attention to himself. Dante's voice was loud and declaratory. He wanted as many people to hear this as possible. "Were you born stupid, or is it more of a spoiled brat kind of deal? Also, only the most pompous of pricks could carry around enough impudence to talk smack about someone who's sitting next to us," he pointed to his group, with each member, perhaps save Sapphira, looked very prepared for open warfare. "I thought mages were supposed to be intelligent. You are living proof that clearly, that's no longer in the job description."

Dante walked back over to his seat but stopped midway to proclaim yet another thing to the mages watching him. "Oh, whoop! My bad. Sorry! Didn't mean to insult any of you. I forgot that he wasn't a real mage and just a wannabe that needs to reinforce his self-esteem by being a vile cretin," Dante smiled to himself, feeling as though he had taken an eye for an eye. "And him?" he pointed at Veril. "Who cares if he's not a full-fledged mage? At least he's not a dick. And it's funny how you call him worthless. Wonder what got him that title. Because I know you get yours from the clothes. Seriously, the only thing that deserves to get called worthless in this room is your attire, which is about as hideous as your face, and that's saying something."

Dante sat back down and faced his food, then started eating his pork once again, uninterrupted, with a good mood. He felt as though he had released all of his anger.

Kila had been happily munching on everything as if it were top tier meal. She seemed fascinated by such mundane things like bread, cheese, and wine. As she was eating she said, "This is good!Back in Estari the only food we had plentiful amounts of was rice. I have not seen any this far east, and this grain called wheat is able to do so much. These "pastries", several bread, and even alcohol. What can't the stuff do?" She was mostly talking to herself until she noticed the exchange between Dante, Arya, and Sapphira. Once she finished some bread with cheese on it and took a rather large sip of wine she was pink again. And this was only her second glass. Sevix on the other hand was still on his first glass as he stared at the events unfolding with great interest.

"Maybe we should build you a shrine Sapphira, no, a temple! Up in the mountains. You could be an ice god*hic*ette (like dudette XD). You're so cute too. I'm sure a lot of people would want to take care of you with that little body. You have my guarantee that your human form will end up being a lovely one! We need more warm ice gods in this world! So many of them are cold."

"This is has turned into a fascinating event. It would be nice if I knew what the wizard truly wanted us for. It's hard to believe an old magus such as himself is doing this out of the good of his heart. It's also rather kind treatment. I wonder how much he knows..." Sevix said to no-one and everyone, implying that they should be cautious. He was naturally suspicious. He often saw it as his duty to make sure peoples' guard wasn't down. Of course he couldn't control him, but at least he could help them if necessary. There was one point in which he was talking to himself though. How much did the mage know? Armis was old, very old, yet he still seemed able and looked like he could live for more years. If he had found a bypass to mortality for the time being, that could not bode well for their situation as immortality often required darker fields of magic. Ones that involved large amounts of powers or demons.

"Dante...do you know which demon might be your father? I t would tell us a lot about your powers, and perhaps that could help us control them if necessary."

"Eeehhh?" Kila was most certainly weird. "I'd rather not be worshipped by anyone. Dragons don't want human praise. Only respect and maybe some form of tribute before asking for magic tutorship. It's why so many humans go to a dragon for tutoring and end up eaten." How did she know this? The same reason she knew so much about dragons despite being only a day or 2 old

"I wouldn't be comfortable around a lot of humans........ not even now."
She got more and more uncomfortable by the second as she started looking around at all the humans in the room

Johnathan Edward Weiss
"Oi. Kila. Don't spout nonsense to my child while you're drunk," John said, looking at her and pulling Sapphira a bit closer. Away from her discomfort. "And what's with all this shrine talk? Why are people so ready to throw themselves at the feet at anything seemingly more powerful than them?"

Arya Tinuviel
Magus Tower Mess Hall

Arya found herself smiling at Sapphira's excitement at learning the new skill, feeling a bit proud of her as well. As she settled down, Arya's attention was turned towards John, as he requested something of her. "Teach her?" she repeated, blinking. Of course she would, but would she really be the best person to do that? She didn't exactly blend in too well with humanity, despite her best efforts...but, it was for Sapphira, so she would try. "Yes, I'll do my best," she agreed with a nod, putting on a reassuring smile for John. She just barely kept her smile from faltering as the voice inside her head started talking to her again, casting doubts onto her companions. That's right, Sapphira might be someone I can trust, but John is human, he might still want me dead...I still need to be careful, she reminded herself as the liquid around her started bubbling more again. She looked away from John, but kept the cheerful expression on her face, not wanting the others to know that something was wrong. She couldn't show them any weakness, after all...

She listened rather quietly as Kila talked about building a shrine for Sapphira, though the water did spike up around them briefly with Arya's annoyance. Did Kila not realize that there were people here who it would be better off not having them know that the young girl was a dragon? She subtly looked around at the others, and noticed one man -- the one that was accompanied by the wolf man -- was staring at Sapphira, and Arya felt herself begin to get a bit protective. She didn't trust him -- hell, she didn't trust any of them at the moment -- and he was looking at the girl with too much curiosity. Maybe she wants them to know so that they'll take matters into their own hands...get rid of the dragons without getting her hands dirty, the thought popped into her head, likely prompted by the paranoia caused from the constant attacks from the corrupting whispers. She immediately tried to put that thought out of her mind, though. Kila wasn't even human, and she came from a different culture. She shouldn't be suspicious of her the same way she was of the others, but...she still was.

"I don't believe I caught your names before," Arya addressed the man and the wolf man with a friendly tone and a smile on her face, talking a bit louder than usual, perhaps to cover up the conversation between Sapphira and Kila. She leaned forward a bit, slightly obscuring the one man's view of Sapphira. "My name is Arya. And you are..?" she asked, again keeping her friendly persona up so as to set them at ease about herself, though her predator's aura was slightly stronger than usual, since she was so on edge about everyone around her. Behind her, Dante had just started confronting a mage, punching him and insulting him. That should also help garner attention away from Sapphira, and hopefully will be distracting enough to keep negative attention away from herself.

Veril could only watch as Dante got up from his chair and walked all the way over to where Draco was. What was he planning on doing? Was he going to stick up for him? He just punched Draco! For Veril! What a glorious day this was! He just publicly humiliated Draco! This was honestly the best day in the world.

"I... I have no words but thank you! I...."

The sound of someone slamming their hands on the table broke the chatty nature of the room, by now everyone just realized what happened. Draco was fuming with rage! How could someone who can't even cast magic punch him in the face and then degrade him! There was only one way of dealing with this! Draco walked up to where Dante was and pointed his finger at him.

"I CHALLENGE YOU TO A WIZARD DUEL! WE SHALL MEET AT THE BATTLEGROUNDS TOMORROW MORNING!"

Everyone was stunned for a moment, all chatter had died down and everything was serious. Draco smiled wickedly and walked out the mess hall with his buddies in tail. Veril was not happy at all! He just put the man who just helped him in a sticky situation. He turned to Dante and proceeded to ask a question.

"Do you know any magic? Cause if you don't then Draco's going to win! I-I can teach you what I know if you'd like! Though I'm not really good at it myself.... Why did you stick up for me? I mean we just met. Why did you stick up for a nobody like myself... Man all I do is bring trouble.... I am a bad Mage..."

Veril was excited at first but then he thought about how bad he was and thought that maybe he would only make things worse. Dante turned out to be a better friend than anyone Veril had before. But why do all these things for him? Maybe he wants money? But Veril doesn't have anything! But what if he's just a good man? Yes that must be it! But.... Veril was lost in his thoughts but looked really worried. He didn't know what to do!

Kila listened to John speak and completely ignored all the other commotion. She was only tipsy, but that didn't always bode well. When she was tipsy, her ideas and center of morality sometimes revolved around her own culture. She turned pinker and giggled. She then said, "My my Weiss, calling me by my first name? How bold of you. Besides, gods aren't blindly worshipped in Estari like they are here in..." she had forgotten the name of the kingdom she was in. She paused for a good three seconds to say, "Protspai....no Prospero." Luckily her words weren't slurred, but her coordination was clearly off by a few marks. She then continued to speak.

"It's simple. We give the gods a place to live, acknowledgement, food, and whatever they need. In return they bless our lands, teach us, mentor us, and some even heal us. Spirit users such as myself contract them. I've also noticed they're called different things here. Demons to be precise. Some are dragons though. However, dragons often live as sages, hermits, or gods of large temples. They're more wrathful than the spirit gods though. Sapphira is right about that." She was kind of surprised Sapphira knew that dragons usually took offerings in order to mentor people. That's one reason dragons often had temples. They seemed to have a want or lust for compensation at times. Then again, there weren't many of those dragons left in Estari. Many have reformed to acting for the greater good or sought to maintain spiritual balance. It did end up having some interesting implications.

Estari did not view their gods as all-powerful like the people in the West did. It was a rather peculiar. The people who bowed and prostrated themselves before alters in hopes to receive a happiness that may never came, a wish that was hardly fulfilled, or just to give themselves a hope that blinded them. For that reason, Kila could not spend more than fifteen minutes inside of one of prospero's temples or "churches" the air just felt so stagnant. It felt false, as if little blessing resided within the air. Even then, the lack of spirits and their blessings was so voided, it made Kila miss the rich aura of her home temples.
"I wish I could go home. I miss the shrines. The voice of the gods that resided there, the feeling that all were welcome regardless of their initial standing, and the blessings that granted you luck. Not some phony hope from people trying to control others or escape their worthless lives. If only I could return."

Now she was sulking, just brilliant. She heaved a long sigh at this and rested her chin on the table. It was so different here, but she couldn't return. Not until she had searched every nook and cranny of the continent for a way to cure her mind. She had sworn to herself on that. She also didn't want to return home without one, she was scared as to what would happen after all these years. What would the others think of her after she had traveled seas and kingdoms?

Sevix was sitting on the sidelines and watched Dante talk badly to the mage that had walked in. He then watched as he spat some rather lengthy, yet nasty insults to the mage. It ended when the mage challenged Dante for a duel and walked off. Once Veril had said his piece, Sevix decided to speak on the matter. In response to what Veril said.

"That's if Dante accepts the duel. Veril, tell us about how accomplished of a mage the man who just challenged Sir Dante. If so, I'm sure Dante could formulate a strategy, if he knows a lick about normal magic."

Lyall and Kubai : Magus Tower Mess Hall

Lyall was intrigued by this little girl. He's never seen a dragon before. Or maybe he did, but they were just in human form. She had the usual cheery attitude that a little human girl would have. It was never a concept he never thought of. You don't know what could be around you. In this case, a dragon, maybe more than one, in human form. You couldn't even tell by the way she looks, it's just her inexperience with her human form. His train of thought was cut off as the woman that was helping this girl, who's name seems to be Sapphira, had come into his view and introduced herself and asked for his name. Inside he was like "Finally someone asks!". "Ah, I'm Lyall and this guy here is Kubai" he said, pointing his thumb at Kubai as he was mentioned. "Sorry if I seemed creepy as I was staring at the girl. It's just that I've never seen a dragon before, well, at least I don't think I have. My father never told me that they can morph into human forms." he added, apologizing for staring. He heard commotion in the background, but he was talking to someone so he wasn't going to whip around and see what it was.

Rin Nyx Rin Nyx

Kubai on the other hand turned his head to face the noise. He saw Dante going off on another mage that had insulted his new friend. As he motioned to the ground Kubai's eyes went across the now silent room. It was no question that they wouldn't want trouble with the group. Most of them were armed with some form of weapon. Kubai had his large sword in it's sheath next to his chair. As it seemed like it was over with the punk humiliated, he decided to challenge Dante to a magic duel. Great. Shortly after the brat's final words Kubai could hear what Dante's friend was saying. One thing he doesn't' like that he doesn't like is when people talk bad about themselves. He arose from his seat and walked over to Dante and the young mage. "Don't be so hard on yourself kid. I'm sure you can teach him something useful. Hell, maybe it could help you practice as well" he said with a soft tone, trying to sound supportive.

Should John try speaking to her when she was drunk, or getting there? He decided to try, and hopefully she'll retain some of what he said if it was even important. "Dragons largely live the same in Prospero, except for the occasional idiots who grovel at a dragon's feet hoping for favors. You'll still find dragons in the most obsure or the most dangerous of places, as every other dragon flying around has been turned into armor. The center of The Spirit Forest, between the peaks of Mount Unity, the top of Pliduf Peaks, and if I'm not mistaken, there's a dragon residing in ruins found buried in the White Sands Desert. Also, reports have shown that there's a dragon in the abandoned Obsidian Grove." He sighed and recalled if his memory was correct. Determining that it was, he continued. "Prospero did the other gods right until the other gods either became narcissistic or the people did less for them. Lying in their name. Using it to control people and those people believing it. Misusing their blessings and/or gifts. Now the Gods give most people the cold shoulder and people think that the way to go is to grovel and beg." John never served nor groveled, nor prayed to any god. He believed that the Gods didn't want that at all. They just wanted respect and tribute, at least to him. John just went about his business. Holy users got the genuine blessing of the gods. That's why they used Holy Magic in the first place. There are just 50 magic-less preachers to every 1 Holy-using Priest.

Otherwise, Kila was spot on. All it was nowadays was people looking to control other people or people looking for hope in the wrong places

But then again, why exactly was Kila giving him a culture lesson? Why was she still in Prospero if she longed for the nostalgic embrace of the Gods of Estari? "Go on back to Estari then. I can safely say we're not stopping you."

Sapphira Alura Weiss
Sapphira sat watching the exchange go on with Dante and the mage, completely oblivious to Arya and the man who was staring at her. She didn't seem to have the feeling that she was being watched just yet. It seemed weird that humans had to challenge each other to duels. In her memory, dragons just fought and destroyed every piece of ground they fought over. But then again, dragons were mostly lone wolfs once they reached adulthood. Only juveniles and kids (and their parents) stayed together. She was curious about what would happen in the fight. Maybe she could see some high level Ice Spells.

She stood up. "I'm off Daddy," she said before walking over to Dante and Vergil. Vergil seemed incredibly talkative, and she hoped he would answer the question in 10 words or less, and not his usual 1,000. Otherwise she would get confused. "How do your magic duels work?"

"You're right, but I swore to myself I'm not going back until I find a cure for my mind. I don't know how my relationship with my family would develop if I went back. Maybe I'll even be disowned. I ran away to find a way to save myself, as if I'm returning for all the effort to be voided in front of my whole clan. Don't speak as if you know me or my country Mr. Weiss. I can speak of yours because I'm here. I know now what it's like in Prospero, but you've never been to Estari. You know nothing of our customs and values. I missed my home ever since I left, so if I had a reason to return, believe me. I would,"
Kila said. She was a bit angry about that. John knew nothing about her, so why tell her to go back? It should be common sense to people that someone leaves for a reason. That reason would need to be fulfilled before one could return home. She was upset at this. Maybe she wanted to be upset, but that didn't change anything in her current state. She gave a small hiccup and began to sob. Now she was sad. Why was she sad? She knew, she couldn't return. She may never return. Damn the alcohol.

"Gods, I'm pathetic. I go out in search of something I may never find so that I can fix myself." After those words she began sobbing and ranting in her native tongue. Once she had begun she continued doing so while swinging her arms around in poorly coordinated gestures and movements. She could not hold her alcohol. This was only her second cup and she was just barely outside of the deep zone of being drunk.

As soon as the brat walked up and pointed his finger at him, then challenged him to a magic duel, Dante shrugged. "Seems someone's precious feelings are hurt. Alright, challenge accepted. You've got some nerve challenging a man who doesn't practice magic to a wizard duel," he replied.

"I only know how to revert things or enhance them," Dante said, chugging his water quickly after. The pork disappeared from his plate as Dante sped up his pace of eating it, but not eating so fast that he would choke on it. "What a pampered brat. Public humiliation isn't enough for him," Dante frowned, laying his silverware on the plate, done with his meal. "Veril, lead me to the library. I gotta get reading. No matter what, the most I could do in a wizard duel right now is revert his spells into nothingness or enhance my movements to dodge. I can't be forced onto the defense like that, or I'll lose."

Dante stood up. Soon enough, Sevix and Sapphira both approached asking their own questions. "And I stood up for you because I knew you wouldn't do that yourself. That's good enough of a reason, right? Now, the best thing we can do is show that annoying brat that he's not as cool as he thinks. Imagine the look on his face once he realizes he's been beaten by me... if I can beat him, that is," Dante made sure to underline his reference to himself so that everyone remembered that he clearly declared he had little experience with dynamic magic.

It appears that more people were interested in him than he thought initially. A giant Wolfman came up to him and told him not to doubt himself. That actually made him feel better, he smiled at Kubai.

"Thanks mister, I shouldn't doubt myself so much!"

Before he could talk to Dante, one of his traveling companions asked a question. What did Veril know about Draco?

"You want to know about Draco? Well he is the best apprentice Mage here! Knows most complex spells. Sadly I don't know much more than that, since nobody really talks to me except to insult me. He can be beaten, but trying to match him in power is pointless!"

Suddenly a little girl came up to Veril, was she new here? No she must be with the adventurers here. Why do they have a little girl with them? Is one of them a father? That must be the answer! He kneeled down to talk properly to her.

"A Wizard Duel? Well a wizard duel is a fight between a Wizard and another Wizard. It can even be challenged to non wizards if the situation is right. It's a magic only fight till someone is knocked out of the magic circle. There are many rules but if I explain them we'd be here all day. I hope that's good enough for you miss!"

Dante actually accepted the duel, well guess it's official now. He wanted to know where the Library was, did he actually think he could learn magic there! That would take too long plus it's not the most reliable place without a Teacher!

"Dante! The Library is not the best place to learn Magic! Reading dusty old times won't give you the ability to harness the Mana reserves within yourself! You someone to teach one how to wield magic and use it effectively! Let me help! I can show you how! It should at least surprise the jerk since I highly doubt he thinks you can use magic. We should-"

Suddenly a mass of students entered the mess hall, if you looked at the hall the next minute you blinked it was way bigger than before. At the head of the horde was a collection of teachers and the grand Wizard, accompanied by other highly important looking mages.

"Meet me outside after this! Take this coin! Just speak where you want to go in and around the tower and it'll take you there! I gotta go now. Grand Wizard and council..."

Veril left everyone's presence as Armis walked up to the table and sat on the big chair. His accomplices sat beside him in their slightly smaller chairs.

Armis waited till all the students and other mages were seated. Once that was done he stood up and spoke in a loud and clear voice.

"Today my friends we are visited by some Heroes! They helped the Tower save a city called Tizca and if it weren't for them, they'd probably be all dead! So we give them a toast of our respect and our gratitude! To The Heries of Tizca!"

Everyone raised their cups and repeated the last part of Armis' speech.

"All classes today have been canceled due to their presence! And now they shall receive their rewards! To Mister Dante! An Amulet that denies the influence of Demonic Corruption! And a Dagger enchanted to always return by your side no matter where in the world you drop it so that you have something to save your life! To Mister Sevix! An old religious relic of the Strevos Knights, hold it up and speak the name of any of ten gods and you shall receive their blessing! You wish to be more cunning? Invoke the name of Loki! Mister Johnathan! To you I shall give a pair of gauntlets of improved strength and magic! May you punch harder and may you defeat your enemies with magical means! To miss Sapphira! A dragon tooth necklace of chill which improves your ice magic! And also a book of Ice magic! To grant you those frosty spells. To Kila of Estari! I give you an necklace from your home that enhances any charms or spells that you use! Making them more effective! And I give you an honorary blade from Estari enhanced to never dull nor break! Should you ever find the need of a weapon but never have it. To The Young lady who has yet to tell me her name! I give you armor made to enhance your strength and to never break when you transform! Should you transform and go back to being a human you shall find your armor intact and still on your body! Lastly to Kubai and Lyall! For your generous help towards the tower all this time I would like to reward the both of you for your services! For Lyall! An entire armor set of Lether enchanted to be as strong as Steel so that you have mobility and protection! To Kubai! I grant you the sword of an ancient chieftain of one of the Wolf Tribes to the west! This blade is big, strong, and enchanted to enhance the strength of its user and to be as light as a feather! May you strike down many foes and bring honor to your people!"

"I Congradulate each and everyone of these adventurers and heroes for their service to the world and its citizens! May peace reign with these people around!"

The whole mess hall erupted in cheers and clapping! Everyone's reputation in the tower has increased and they shall always be welcomed back with opened arms!

Over the next hour much merriment happened but soon everyone departed. Armis walked up to Arya and spoke.

Magus Tower / Mess Hall >>> Outside the Tower

After the party started, Dante remained only for a short while before departing outside the tower to meet up with Veril. Placing the necklace around his neck, Dante felt relieved as he no longer had to listen to his father's wailings and the dagger also seemed like a neat gift.

"I'm here. What are you going to teach me?" he asked right off the bat, walking up close. Dante wasn't very sure about this, since, from what he heard, Veril was lacking in skill, but he had to put his faith in the boy. This wasn't about Dante's reputation. He wasn't a mage by profession or interest. It was about vengeance. Draco shouldn't be permitted to freely bully other students like that. "I just wanted to point out: I'm the son of a g--" he nearly spilled the full truth. Dante decided to downplay it. "--demon. A demon that taught magic to man." He stopped, not speaking further. He wanted to avoid people knowing that he was the son of an evil god, remembering the witch hunter's words. The sons of demons were less likely than sons of corrupt celestial beings like evil gods.

NEW ITEMS:
  • Demon Repellent: Using our revolutionary technique, we have created a spray that scares away demons!
  • Demon-repelling Necklace: A gift from Armis, this necklace keeps Dante safe from the corrupting influence of malevolent spirits. It blocks off his father's whispers from reaching Dante and driving him mad.
  • Communication Coin: A coin with magical properties that lets Dante communicate with Veril.
  • Magical Dagger: Master-crafted weapon with a blade as sharp as it is durable. It has been enchanted by Armis to always return into Dante's possession should the weapon be lost. It can also be returned after being thrown.

He listened to Armis's speech and accepted his gift with graciousness. Improved gauntlets for better strength and better magic. They looked pristine. "You have my thanks, Armis," John said with a bow. He put the gauntlets on and flexed his hands and his arm, feeling the newfound power. He exhaled with a smile. These would work out just fine.

Item Added: Improved Gauntlets- Increases John's strength and Magic

Skills unlocked:
  • Improved Basic Magic Skills- He can use basic skills from most schools of elements with higher skill than any non-mage
  • Intermediate Water Magic- He can cast some fairly powerful Water Magic
  • Improved Intermediate Ice Magic- He has some powerful Ice Magic spells that's only made better by his new gauntlets.

Sapphira Alura Weiss

Items added:
  • Ice Book- A book that holds all the secrets to Ice. Its philosophy, spells, tips and tricks.
  • Dragon Tooth Necklace- A necklace from the teeth of dragons. Significantly improves Sapphira's Ice Magic and mana pool

Skills added:
  • Advanced Ice Spells- With the necklace and the book, she can learn to cast some very powerful Ice spells
  • Unstable Expert Ice Magic- She can cast the top-tier Ice spells, but it's highly unstable and will hurt her to cast

Sapphira grabbed the book with a big grin on her face. "Thank you sir," she said with a small bow like she saw John do. She wanted to learn as much about human stuff as possible, and that definitely included human courtesy.

An Ice dragon tooth necklace? Upon taking the necklace and putting it on, her eyes dilated and she saw a thousand miles away:

Soaring along the skyline. Above the clouds. Battles with other dragons. War with and against humans, elves. A regal Ice dragon standing over a lone egg, swinging its massive tail and clearing everything around that endangered the egg. A powerful Ice breath that sent everything it hit into a mini ice age. Frozen bodies shattered into cubes. A blizzard struck the entire area, plunging it into a winter wasteland..........

A mountain in the midst of an arctic storm and a dragon directing a couple of smaller Ice dragons into a cave. The dragon laid down and cuddled close to its young ones..........

A brown dragon that covered the area in a strong sandstorm that erased all visibility. It flew around like a ghost in such a strong sandstorm, other than its thunderous roar. On the ground were a bunch of humans holding all kinds of weapons. Any human lightly armed or light weight got buffeted by the sandstorm if not blown away completely. When the dragon landed, the entire ground split and erupted. Tanks, vehicles, humans, constructs, everything either flew high up in the air or fell into a fissure into the molten crust below. Its breath released a toxic cloud that suffocated and dissolved any and all that it enveloped. It turned into a fire breath, and the toxic cloud exploded. A MASSIVE explosion that blasted almost everything away and choked enemies with its thick smoke.
A devastated army. Relative few remained. "Charge!" the leader of the humans yelled, and they all charged at the dragon.................

"Sapphira?"

..........she snapped out of it. "Sapphira, are you alright? Why are you crying?" She looked up into John's eyes, confused as to why he was asking her about crying.
She touched her face. Her hand came back wet. She was tearing up at....... "Oh......I don't know." She really had no idea. Who's memories were these? They had to be the dragons who these teeth belonged to. Why would you give a dragon a necklace made from the tooth of her own kind?
"Are you alright?"
"Yes. I am. I'm just happy for these gifts," she lied with a fake smile.

Armis's Speech
Armis's Speech ---> somewhere private.
"Thank you, Master Armis," Sevix said as he walked away with his gift quietly. The item was a sphere with each symbol of the gods carved on it. Quite intriguing. The church itself recognized the existence of gods and their importance in the idea of moderation. A word from the two most influential gods. Phirstan and Lupa, the brother and sister gods who controlled the sky. The two of them were the only gods within the entire Strevos belief that had any blood relation. This had an ancient depiction of them though. They stood back to back holding the sun and the moon in their respective positions with Lupa to the left and Phirstan to the right. He switched the orb a little and noticed Naga and Krunis circling each other. They were still lovers. Dragons turned gods. Together they represented parenthood. This was from the beginning of the Book of Twilight when heaven was split in two and corruption was birthed in the mortal planes as the gods and demons fought for control over the mortal realm.

"Thank you for the gifts," Kila said with a radiant smile as she buckled the katana on to her belt and looked at the talisman. The item was strange. It held a rather familiar design. The item itself was mostly wood, but carved into a very intricate shape of a serpentine form with horns wrapping around a moonstone. The serpent's body was covered in smaller designs, and she felt a rather interesting aura radiating from it. She put it on as of custom. It didn't feel like much, perhaps she would have to use a spell or talisman to make it work. Kila bowed deeply before Armis in gratitude for the gifts. Sevix had walked off somewhere else, and Kila noticed Sapphira and John's exchange.

"Miss Sapphira? Are you sure that's all? Dragons can be rather unstable at times, please let someone know when something is wrong. We don't need another icy room," Kila said with a kind tone as she reached over to Sapphira's head to pet her head.

Sevix walked through the halls and took out a small orb he had hidden on his person. He then spoke into it saying, "Hello?"

"Yeah, I hear you. I just got back. How's your adventuring going? Did you finally run into your old friends?"

"Not yet, but I assume you have heard of the issues in Tizica?"

"Yeah, first a necromancer knight and then a dragon attack."

"I was there. It had to do with the inquisition burning a half-demon guard and his mother at the stake when a half-dragon got very angry."

"Wow. Glad to see they got what's coming to them."

"If only it were so simple. I got caught up in them escaping, and now I'm watching the group."

"Eh? Where are you guys now?"

"The Magus Tower."

"Dammit. That's going to be awkward. Just make sure to watch the dragon hybrid for now. Make sure nothing weird happens."

"And the half-demon?"

"It isn't his fault he got burned at the stake. Just watch the dragon. You're permitted to execute them if you see fit."

"Not gonna happen. She's caught my attention. Call it nostalgia."

"Interesting. Anyhow, do we need to contact the magus tower?"

"Nay. My involvement in the order is well-known. Just make any preparations necessary in case I have to transfer the group."

"Aye, be careful."

Sevix placed the orb back on his person. It dawned on him how it stuck out like a sore thumb without his cloak. He should probably get a new one later. He also thought about changing out of his military uniform. His only reason for wearing it was so it created less complications. It also gave him quite a social advantage. His knight armor wasn't what one would call typical. He hoped no one noticed him. It wouldn't bode well for anyone to hear that conversation if they did. He wanted as little complications as possible.

New Items:

The Orb of Blessing: An ancient Strevos Church artifact dating back to the beginning of the time of the Book of Twilight. The book that records the post-creation times. When used, it invokes one of the Strevos order's gods' names it grants the user the god's blessing.

New Items:

Ancient Talisman: A Talisman from Estari that enhances magic power. Depicts an ancient horned serpent wrapped around a moonstone charm. The carving is made of a wood base, and the serpentine figure is made of a black stone or metal.

Enchanted Katana: A katana. A blade native to Estari. Famous for its sharpness with the ability to cut people in half despite often being made of poor metal, but the katana is enchanted to never break or dull.

Magus Tower Mess Hall

Water spiked up nearby slightly as Arya realized that the man had already overheard that Sapphira was a dragon. That was unfortunate...she would have to keep an eye on this one as well. Her expression, however, didn't falter, and she let herself give a nonchalant shrug. "He might not have known about the ability. Changing forms is actually quite rare," she told him matter-of-factly, allowing herself to give him a little bit of information. Changing into a human form was, indeed, a very rare ability amongst dragons. It was usually only reserved for very old, very powerful dragons. Arya's mother had told her many stories of her father and his ability to change forms, and had explained as much to her when she was younger -- it was one of the few things she knew of her father. The fact that Sapphira had managed to change into a human form was curious, but Arya hadn't paid it much mind previously. In any case, her concerns were more focused on this man, Lyall. Her expression turned serious for a brief moment, her red eyes staring hard at the man and only enhanced by her dangerous aura as she stated, "Of course, it would be best if others did not know she was a dragon, that would just cause so much unnecessary trouble...wouldn't you agree?" The statement was said in a friendly enough tone, but the expression on her face and the intimidating aura around her made it clear that she was not simply making a request. Her expression changed back to a very friendly immediately after, almost as if the intimidating expression was never there to begin with, and she smiled at Lyall again. "Well, it was a pleasure meeting you, Lyall," she told him, before turning her attention to Armis, who had just gone up to begin a speech and was seemingly waiting for everyone to settle down.

The whole mess hall erupted in cheers and clapping! Everyone's reputation in the tower has increased and they shall always be welcomed back with opened arms!

Over the next hour much merriment happened but soon everyone departed. Armis walked up to Arya and spoke.

"I hope you like the armor I gave you, but I wish to discuss something else! I still wish to know your answer to my proposal about teaching you how to transform at will and to revert back to a human."

Outside the tower, Veril was waiting for Dante to show up so he could start teaching him magic.

Arya listened as Armis went through his speech, water spiking up again with annoyance at some parts -- particularly when she heard that he was giving Sapphira, a dragon, a dragon tooth necklace, and when he loudly talked about Arya's transforming and 'going back to being a human'. Still, a gift was a gift, and at least she would have armor that she wouldn't have to worry about losing now. She was suspicious of it, but it wasn't like she could go around wearing jackets, cloaks, and kimonos from other people all the time, especially with the new ability of hers that she had yet to figure out.

She inspected the armor as it was handed to her. It was a metal breastplate, apparently sleeveless, but with a metal choker-style necklace to protect the neck (which would, conveniently, help cover up her gills), and separate metal bracers for her arms. It came with a simple pair of pants, the material used in its creation a treated leather, soft and flexible enough to provide mobility, but hardened enough to provide more protection than simple cloth material. Finally, the hardened leather boots that came with them were affixed with metal shin guards, to provide extra protection, again while not hindering movement. Overall, the armor was mobile, but protective, and probably better than what she had previously, though there were differing weak points with this armor than her last set. Something to get used to, anyway. Out of curiosity, she strapped one of the metal bracers to her arm. Already, she could feel strength flowing through her, and could only imagine how strong the full set would make her.

Eventually, her attention turned towards Armis, who approached her now.
"I hope you like the armor I gave you, but I wish to discuss something else! I still wish to know your answer to my proposal about teaching you how to transform at will and to revert back to a human."
Water bubbled nervously around her. She didn't trust this man, he was a stranger to her. Besides, reverting 'back to a human' was not really something she wanted. If it were up to her, she'd just stay in dragon form. Humans were stupid, and she didn't fit in to their world anyhow. Still...she didn't even know how to transform into her dragon form at will. But what could this man teach her? He was human, not a dragon. How could he teach her to transform? However...she did need this man to like her. He was the one between her and the inquisition, and if he wanted her dead, well...If she wanted to protect herself, if she wanted to protect Sapphira as well, then she would have to earn this man's trust. Her trusting him was not actually a requirement.

Deciding that the easiest way to gain this man's trust would be to go along with his offer, Arya finally nodded in agreement. "Thank you for the armor, the gift was very kind," she started, keeping her voice diplomatic in nature. "I will accept your offer, though I would ask you to take into consideration this: I am a wanderer by nature, and do not like staying in one place for too long. I realize that you must observe my behaviors as well, due to...certain circumstances," she started, then paused as if to collect her thoughts -- more of a tactical pause to let her words sink in, really, as she wanted to put the idea of a timeline in the man's head. She didn't want to be trapped in the tower forever (wasn't it supposed to be the dragons who do the trapping in towers?), so putting in the idea of her leaving would likely help to speed up any tutelage the man had planned, and possibly help him come to a decision about her sooner so that she could be on her way more quickly. After the brief pause, Arya continued, "I only ask this. I will learn what I can from you while you observe me, and after your observations, if you do not come to a...negative...conclusion, then I would like to go free." With that, she looked at Armis. If the man accepted this condition, then she would have to give him her name. Doing so would help him trust her more, anyway, and hopefully help her get out of there sooner rather than later.

New Items:
Transforming Armor of Enhanced Strength -
A set of armor that is enchanted not to break during Arya's transformations into dragon form. The armor seems to dissipate during the transformation process, and is still on her body when she transforms back into her humanoid form. When wearing this armor in human form, Arya's strength is increased. Now, her regular strength is that of five men. When using dragon enhancement, her strength increases even further, the amount of which depends of her level of enhancement, but if she had the strength of ten men without the armor during her enhancement, then her strength would be that of approximately twelve men with the armor, give or take, unless any part of her transformation has caused parts of the armor to dissipate, which would lower the effect of the strength enhancement. This armor does not effect her dragon form.

Magus Tower

She looked up at Kila. "I'm fine," she said simply. She had a massive headache and was dizzy from the vision she just had. That, along with everything the vision, she needed to lay down for a while. She was overwhelmed by everything. The humans all here, the gift, the resulting vision, the headache resulting from that.
"Daddy," she said, looking at John tiredly. "Is there a room or something we can go to? Can we go back to the hotel?"

John looked at her. "What's wrong?"
She could only close her eyes and open them up slowly. "Just a bit tired is all........It's hot in here."
John knelt down to her. Touching her forehead, it was indeed too hot. She had a fever. Apparently she heated up faster in human form than in human form. "I got you," He picked her up gently and held her, concerned. A small magic circle appeared under him and they both started cooling down. "Breathe deep, Sapphira."

Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. John's hand was covered in water, and it helped her cool down as it froze from touching Sapphira Soon, she started feeling a bit better, but was still dizzy with a headache. "I want to see Dante and Veril and the duel."
"You just said you wanted to go back to the Inn."
"I know, but I want to watch them before then. Can you keep me cold? It's hot."
"Of course. Let's go watch them."

John started walking out, slow, steady, gingerly, carrying the fragile Sapphira in his arms, trying not to disturb her too much. "Arya, I'm going outside to Dante and Veril. She wants to get away from all these people." and possibly that tower.

The old man kinda chuckled, how obvious she was at trying to manipulate people. He shook his head and smiled.

"I understand not wanting to be in one place for too long. It won't take much time, just about 3 days or more depending on how well you grasp the concept. And it's best if we get this done quickly. I had already planned a timeline. Why do you speak as if I'm holding you hostage? I only wish to help. Now I must show you the room you will be training in..."

He pulled out a Crystal Ball, it was all misty and hazy like there was something there but then there wasn't.

"Place your hand on top and we may go."

When Arya did this, the two of them were teleported to a humongous room. It had many things but they were all for training purposes.

"This is where you'll train both body and mind on how to change into your Draconic form. You will not be disturbed in your training. But we will not start today, you are exhausted and tired. In response to the training you must be isolated from everyone, because if someone were to disturb you or could trigger an emotional state, it could be disasterous. The only thing that will keep you company is your thoughts. We are leaving now, if you wish to head up to your room I can take you there."

When Armis pulled out the crystal ball, it showed them still standing there in the mess hall, doing normal actions that they would do. Were they in the subconscious?

Upon returning to the mess hall Armis, handed Arya a smaller ball. Showing her a room and a bed.

"This will teleport you to your room in the tower. Just hold the ball and say you want to go to your room and you will be taken there. I'm sorry if these actions are an inconvenience to you and your friends but incidents like that in Tizca must never happen again. I hope you understand. Now if you wish to talk to me further about anything, I will be up in my office. You can also use that orb to go there whenever you like, just say take me to Armis' office and off you go! Now I shall return to my office and get some work done... "

And just like that, the old man was gone. He would be in his office doing some necessary paperwork.

Veril White
Location: Mage training grounds

Veril stood waiting for Dante, he had gathered a lot of scrolls and had memorized what he would be teaching Dante. If all went according to plan! Dante should learn some magic that can defeat Draco! He was extremely nervous, he had never taught anyone how to do magic before. But he mustn't lose hope now! He must be strong! It was kinda his fault that Dante was in this situation!

When Dante actually appeared, Veril maintained his composure and looked at Dante with an expressionless face. It was more for Veril than for Dante, Veril was too excited now and he couldn't let that ruin his teaching!

"We will first learn a couple cantrips! Simple things like making stuff move slightly or having a rat tap dance. Obviously we won't learn those two examples, we're looking more for stuff related to combat. Once you have an understanding on how magic works, we will move on to basic spell, things like ice shards or fireballs. If we can get past those, we might be able to go onto more complex spells but with my skill that's highly unlikely."

Veril was grabbing a couple scrolls when Dante mentioned he was the son of a Demon. Why tell Veril now!? When he was all brave and cool! He calmed down and walked towards Dante with two scrolls.

"Well then that should help you with some magic then! Alright now these two cantrips are..."

Soon Veril was talking to Dante about the different forms of magic, he would have to get that basic understanding if he wished to use simple Cantrips. Once he got that he was showing Dante the proper form for casting spells and they would practice this over and over till he could do this without fail. Then it would be the simple incantations for the spell, after that... It was the casting of the spell! This process was repeated many times for the spells he was Teaching Dante.

Water spiked in annoyance and anger at Armis's words. Why did she speak as if she were a hostage? In her opinion, she was one. What were her options? Stay here for however long this man wanted, or be taken out so she was no longer a threat. Not much of an option, really. She glanced down at the crystal ball that the man held out, really not wanting to put her hand on it. However, she reluctantly obliged, and was transported to the huge room.

She listened to the old man's explanations, then, when they returned to the mess hall, she took the smaller ball that gave her access to a room. And, just like that, the old man was off, leaving her in the mess hall. Arya hadn't even said anything through the rest of the encounter, but she supposed there wasn't much to say, anyway. She looked at the magic ball in her hand, her exhaustion definitely getting to her. She should really get some rest...

"Arya, I'm going outside to Dante and Veril. She wants to get away from all these people."

The words brought her attention up and towards John holding a weakened-looking Sapphira. Concern immediately flooded Arya's thoughts, her blank expression betrayed by the water displaying this emotion through sudden twisting and bubbling. "Is she alright? She should get some rest..." she trailed off, then sighed inwardly. She definitely understood needing to get away from people, she felt the same way at the moment. "If she needs anything, please come find me. If it's for Sapphira, I'll do what I can to help," she told John quietly, letting her concern into her expression. She immediately covered it up again with her neutral expression. She was beginning to show a lot more of her true emotions around others, especially when it came to Sapphira...she would have to be more careful, showing her emotions like that was dangerous. Any one of those around her who picked up on them could use those emotions to their advantage, exploit her weaknesses...she needed to close herself off again, only show them what they need or want to see. Arya reminded herself of these facts, as she began to collect her things -- her scythe, the new armor, so on and so forth -- in preparation to retire to her room, though she was moving slowly in case John decided that Sapphira needed anything before she left. If there was nothing for her to do, then she would simply go to her room and sleep for who knows how long.

"I'm going too. I need to try out this new talisman. See if it actually works. Dante might be a good subject as part demon," Kila said before walking out to the courtyard where mages trained. There she noticed Veril and Dante and listened to what they said. She had heard about Veril. It was something her sober mind was listening to while her playful mind was talking with John and Sapphira. She looked at the exercises and then her mind switched to the sober mode. She walked up and said, "How do these silly exercises teach magic? There's an easier way the people of Estari use."

She pulled out a talisman and a small child with horns and a tail emerged from the talisman. It appeared to be a small child, but the eyes and way the person carried herself said otherwise. "The rite by which an Estari magic user gains the gift of magic is to talk to a local god. The spirit then opens the gate which all people have that allows them to control magic by creating the sensation of pulling out magic power. At the same time, this increases one's ability to control magic power and it's flow to their inherit maximum. So Dante, if you want the easy way. We can force your own gate to awaken just as the people of Estari do so. However, as you are part demon this comes with risks. It has the chance of awakening your demon side, but it will also undeniably speed up the awakening that has begun. There are measures though. I could seal your demon powers. They've been leaking for a long time, and the more you use your reverse magic, the more your demon side will awaken. As such, if I seal this power it will force the gate that holds your demon side shut. If we do this, and you're lucky, your magic gate will open and you will be able to comprehend the use of magic to it's fullest potential. If you're unlucky and it turns out your magic gate and demon gate are one and the same, I will be forced to keep it sealed and you may not be able to use magic until the seal wears off. Do you want to take the risk?"

This was a risky move, but if this was successful. Dante would be able to train with magic in time for the duel. If not, he could end up being consumed by his demon side. It would also mean that if Kila could manage to seal his demon powers he would be unable to use magic. He would have to start from scratch again. This would be a lengthy ritual too if that was the case. He would be unable to use magic well until the seal wore off. It would be his decision if he took the risk.

"Human," the demon girl said as she walked up to Dante."If you want me to open your gate, place your head in my hand." The girl held out her hand in a stop-like shape and waited.

While Kubai was focusing more on Veril and Dante, Lyall and Arya were conversing. He was glad she didn't take it the wrong way. He's been in a couple of tough situations with women who could really fight. She continued to go on and explain to him how it was rare to find a dragon that could shift. It explains why he hasn't seen one till now. Soon, the peaceful atmosphere of the conversation took a negative turn as he could see the expression on her face. Want she said next made sense. Of course he'd keep it quiet. He did not want to add Arya to his "Women to avoid" list. But, as sudden as the serious and threatening aura manifested, it dissipated as her friendly demeanor returned. "Oh don't worry. I'll keep my mouth shut. And, likewise Arya" he replied. Soon after, began a speech on congratulating the adventurers.

It ended with them receiving some very nice rewards. Lyall got a set of enchanted leather armor the was said to have the defensive properties of steel. The two things that he never thought could come together, mobility and strength. Kubai on the other hand got a sword that belonged to an ancient chieftain of a western wolf tribe. It was large, and the style and markings on it were very familiar to him. It wasn't just the sword that belonged to an ancient chieftain, it was the sword that belonged to one of Kubai's tribe's greatest enemies. He swung it a few times before a low chuckle came quietly out of his mouth. He was going to enjoy this sword.

As the ceremony ended and the group began to disperse, Lyall and Kubai were left talking to each other. "This is the best day we've had yet" he remarked. Kubai was still studying the sword. He already knew of it's origins, but he was still amazed that he was holding it. "Yes it is. Only if my father could see this" Kubai said, looking up for a moment before returning back to the sword. "I can't wait to try this armor out. Think we should head over to their training grounds and- nevermind, this is a school for mages" he said. He didn't think the students would be up for a duel, especially against him. "Well then. How about me and you do a little match then?" Kubai suggested. Lyall's face lit up. "You've never had a better idea!". With that being said, the two left for whatever kind of training grounds the tower had to put on a little "show" for the students.

Dante listened to his new mentor warily, rolling his eyes when he mentioned making a rat tap dance.

*Insert Training Montage Indeed*

Dante extended his hand with an open palm forward. His face showed a menacing frown, but soon, he uttered the incantation. "Jagel brechen!" A dim blue light shined from his fingers and moved to the palm of his hand. A cracking sound could be heard before the light shot out at blinding speed and hit a pair of birds sitting on a tree. The animals started singing like crazy to Dante's surprise (and probably everyone's.)

"Okay. Great..." he commented half-sarcastically. Dante looked at Veril, not mentioning the birds. A fine mind shouldn't be cluttered with trivialities. "So, I know a few cantrips now. That's cool and all, but I don't think that doing this will help me win a magic duel," Dante said, before pointing his right hand's finger down at the ground. His finger then shot a faint green beam of light that hit the ground and went out after a second. From that place underneath them, a small patch of grass and one or two flowers grew out. "How about something dangerous? A fireball would be cool. Pun intended."

NEW SPELLS: Cantrips: Dante has learned numerous cantrips from Veril. Cantrips are low-level, common, albeit useful spells that any mage can perform. They have a relatively low cost in mana and a small casting time and are very easy to learn.

Dante looked back at the fox-girl, who explained how her people performed magic. Upon considering what she said, Dante was quick to agree, but then he heard the risk of awakening his demon side. "Wait, demon side? What the hell is that?" he asked. He was willing to obtain what Kila proposed, but not without knowing what the risks involved. Was he going to turn evil? Would he be possessed? The thought that it already awoke and was slowly leaking through was not comforting, albeit Kila said that there were measures. "I... I don't know..." Was the risk worth the reward and more importantly, the price? Power for sanity?

Dante looked at the demonic girl in front of him. Human, she called him. The word brought some grim comfort with it, but the person that said it did not. Fuck sanity. "Fine, let's try it," he laid his hand on her head, before looking at Kila. "If I explode, or if I turn into a horned monster, I'm counting on you to bring me back."

Veril was quite happy with how well Dante learned the basic forms of magic. The bird singing cantrips seemed to work well as well, it's effects were a success. He smiled as he went to get a basic spell scroll, he was busy trying to find something until Dante said something. He doesn't think some Cantrips can help him win the duel... Geez how can something this simple need to be explained.

"Cantrips may feel pointless at times but they have a purpose. Distraction! If you can distract the enemy from focusing especially a wizard you'll gain the advantage. It's why I'm teaching you these spells! You need to think strategically instead of aggressively, because you're outmatched in this fight. Now I was about to teach you some normal spells such as the fireball. We could've skipped Cantrips entirely but I needed you to get used to how magic is cast and the proper form for it. Now..."

He stopped as he heard what Kila said, he was just surprised that she could even suggest such a thing! If she failed who knows what demon monstrosity might come from her mistake! Veril heard a little of this place called Estari but things work different here. You could say he was even more surprised to see Dante accept the offer.

"Dante! are you sure this is worth the Risk? Because if she fails you'll become a beacon for some of the most powerful demons there is! Remember all the Kings who were enticed by power! When they sold their soul what usually happens? They become the demon itself! Do you really want that? Sure it's quicker if she does it but the risk of becoming a demon isn't necessarily a good thing! Come on buddy! Let's just continue our training and in doing so we don't have to worry about you turning into an abomination!"

Veril knew it was his choice but from how little time they spent together, Veril had to say something. If Dante really went through with this then a lot of demons would be attracted to him. Veril had actually grown to respect the man but such a choice will not end well with Veril. Power is seldom a good thing to ask for and it usually brings trouble along with it. The choice rests with Dante.

"Human, I'm going to open your gate. If you feel a pulse through your body or any weird symptoms, it's all normal. Just try to control it or your inherent magic element may harmlessly explode and you'll waste up your spirit energy, or mana as you mortals of the east call it," the demon explained. She closed her eyes and a azure and magenta glow emenated from her hand. Suddenly a magical aura began to surround them both. The demon girl opened her eyes and backed away. The aura around Dante was still glowing. Then the demon was called back to Kila as it poofed into a strange mist and gathered back into Kila's talisman.

"Focus on what she said Dante, control your energy flow. Take deep breathes or you'll be wasting spirit energy unnecessarily."

Sevix Azrel
(Somewhere in the tower)

Sevix sat in a cross-legged in a quiet pose as he took a deep breath. He closed his eyes in the dark room. It was a room for rituals and around Sevix were several candles as the only light source. In between the candles were nightshade flowers. Sevix then began to chant, "Et inanis plena chao susurrat. Quod esuriat, ut dilatentur spatia, et conteratur, corrumpere. Conferti in cognitione vetito manant in spe et tolli posse concedat." The candles began to dance as if there was wind, but no draft was found inside the room no matter where one would look. The nightshade flowers began to rise and slowly spin until they were above the candles. Then they began to burst into flames, but only the stems. That's when a circle slowly began to be drawn by nothing appeared on the ground. It emitted a dim crimson light. That's why the flowers began to emit a dark fog which swirled along the ground. The room was suddenly devoid of all light except that within the circle. A dark whisper began to move across the room. Sevix felt his mind begn to grow numb as he began to be tainted. The dark mist swirled around him in a serpent-like fasion and then began whipping out like tendrils. That's when they became less and less like fog. "Hauriendum."

The black mist then began to gather in Sevix's mouth as it forced its way down. It felt violating, disgusting, and even degrading as he allowed the dark substance to slide it's way down his throat. He began screaming a muffled scream as the evil substance entered his body. Once it was finished the nightshade trned to ash, the circle vanished, and the candles suddenly became unlit. Light returned to the room and the black mist had entered his body. He laid on the ground struggling as he felt his body being forced to adapt to this new substance. When it finished he sat there breathing heavily, but he held his arm out which grew a dark hole and a tendril of darkness spewed forth at his command. This was the second time he had done this ritual. It was one of the most basic of eldritch rituals, but the power would be worth it later. He took out his shortsword and slashed at the tendril. It came off. The cut off piece hit the ground, writing like a fish out of water until it vanished into dark mist which regathered to the tendril growing out of his hand. He called it back and his hand returned to normal.

"Mist black as night. Crimson fabric. The sound of a drop. The python curling. Gold hair."

It had begun. His mind was warped, but if he had any reason to regain this power after purging it several years ago, now was the time. Did he have a reason, he didn't know. He had long forgotten why he decided to do that ritual now, but he would only be able to keep this power for a month before it began to eat away at him like it did before. The mental degredation was slow, but it was also unpleasant.

Dante turned to Veril. "I'm tougher than I look, Veril. It might not seem like it, but in the guard, you constantly have to exercise every little bit of yourself. I can handle it."

The demon girl performed her spell, then Dante started glowing in a bright aura. He felt a dull headache as his mind was dragged by his expanding soul. It was not an experience easy to describe with words, but nonetheless, he managed it. Then Kila asked him to breathe. "What?" he replied to her request. Despite that, Dante started breathing. 'I don't get how breathing air in will help my soul, or whatever,' he finished in thought. "Okay, so what now?" he asked in curiosity and confusion a few seconds later. Coming from the dark god equivalent of Boccob, he seemed to be naturally talented in the control of his own soul, although unknowingly to anyone, the release of his full potential sparked a change in his aura. Change was indeed the domain of his father's will, and change was inevitable. The question was what kind of change it was...

NEW SKILL: Open Gate / Son of the God That Will Come: Due to the opening of his gate, Dante achieved a higher power. He is a warp-smith, in the sense that he can use magic more like a demon than a mortal, as though he was born in one of the celestial or infernal realms. Mechanically, this allows him to shape raw magical energy with his mind and fingertips, achieving any magic he wishes although at a much larger cost than as if he were simply casting spells he studied. It is no longer limited by knowledge, and he merely has to call upon creativity in order to impose change upon the world. Due to his demonic alignment, he gains a bonus to naturally destructive or evil spells, such as fire magic or necromancy respectively, and due to his heritage, he gains a bonus to spells that impose change such as mutation spells or transmutation. His mana has also been greatly augmented, letting him cast plenty of spells before he has to wait for it to regenerate.
