Fantasy Lucid

I didn't play much of inquisition, mainly played origins, though I do know one thing.

Cass is love.

Cass is life.

And Alister is adorably innocent.

He's a big puppy for sure. My absolute favorite character however is Varric. The smart-mouthed, story-telling dwarf will always win hands down.

I loved the dialogue in DA2 and replayed it three times just for that. The party banter had me in stitches the whole time.

We gonna be doing some Inception/the Matrix type shizang? ^^

Also Dragon Age is good...but does it have Garrus Vakarian?

Lols that is my main issue with Dragon age, Garrus isn't in it.

It depends what you mean by 'Inception/matrix' The dreamscape can change at the drop of a hat, they can literally be anything within human experience, though our characters are confined to the dreamscapes and the bastion, no physical world for them. I'd look to your own dreams for inspiration.

Its really cool how different people's dreams are, and the trends in their most common dreams.

Like me for example: I'm a pretty common case, a lot of the time I dream I'm being chased, but I also dream of new places, like, completely new. Places I've never seen anything like before in waking, not even in movies etc. Apparently my brain is frighteningly good at reshuffling visual information.

Dude, everyone, talk about your dreams!

By Inception I mean things like just the most random things appearing in unlikely places. Like how someone could be dreaming of an ordinary city then like in the movie, a train randomly crashes through the street or a tsunami bursts through. Also, in Inception a person's subconscious can sometimes defend itself against any 'outsiders' by spawning in armed soldiers (or dragons or whatever - depending on the dreamscape) and such to fight them in the dream world. Would stuff like that happen?

And by Matrix I mean stuff like being able to 'spawn in' whatever you want, equipment, vehicles, guns, all that kind of stuff to help you in the dream world.

I can hardly remember most of my dreams but the ones I do are quite odd.

The way i imagine it the dreamer is far less prepared than those in inception, inasmuch as these aren't humans exploiting new tech to enter dreams. If the animi and the fiends are unknown to humans why would they develop counter measures? The dreamer might defend themselves but if they could do it well they wouldn't need the animi.

As far as them imagining in weapons and dragons, from what I've read this would likely be resisted by the dreamer and the animi would have to be more subtle. What the consequences would be i don't know, I read somewhere that if the animi are trapped in a dream when the dreamer wakes they can be hurt, possibly killed. Perhaps getting too weird risks waking them which risks killing your character.

Of course I could be completely wrong

If you take a browse back through this thread the first 2 pages are peppered with lore that should answer your questions nicely.

You're pretty much right. I'll give control of the dreamer to myself or one of you each arc, that person gets to choose whether or not a meme is accepted and becomes reality in the dream. Let's say for example the dreamer has created a medieval world, it would be difficult for Animi to break with that theme but it can happen. The Animi in this case could try to manifest a machine gun, but it would likely turn into a sword or a lance or a crossbow etc. but this won't always happen, that's up to the gm of that particular arc.

Many people lurking here...

indeed, and I'll mention this right now, if everyone who wrote on here is still interested then we may have a problem. I will cap the thread at 7, the first 7 approved. The rest will be booked on a wait list and will be contacted when a slot becomes available.

This is around the answer I was originally looking for ^^

I don't think there'll be a problem, from what I've seen RPs always have one or two people who drift away.

First seven? I hope I'm included. I think I'm included. What I said was so ambiguous but I'm so joining XD

It seems as if cleverness and strategic thinking is required to survive and complete the objectives. I have not been in an RP that doesn't have plot armor so this has me hooked.

Count me in if there's a spot availible :D

You are included to apply, the first 7 profiles I accept will be the first seven to start. If I tell you you have to go back and change something, then your profile is not accepted and someone else may have their accepted before yours. Make sure you read all the rules I post and create your CS accordingly ^^

wait, CS? so I can write anything I want without a template? ...ok then (:

I'm sure there will be a small template at least. Like the common: name, appearance, backstory. That kind of stuff.

The rules will be important though. So when the switch to the new sight happens, just read the rules carefully :)

That was not what I said though. One of the rules will be 'please follow the CS outline provided'. A thread this complex will unfortunately need a stringent framework. @Tedronai
