Location: Mid-Level, near Outskirts


Lexia began to chuckle. She figured the kid was probably raised to despise the military, just like the ignorant masses that lived with her. [COLOR= rgb(64, 224, 208)]"So, uh, Dave! Pay no mind, we should just go back on patrol." [/COLOR]She got up and tried to defuse the situation by shoving Dave away. [COLOR= rgb(64, 224, 208)]"Stay professional, please." [/COLOR]Lexia turned back to the kid and pointed in the center direction of the tree city. She looked like she was about to shout, but instead Lexia just pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. And then, the captain showed up. Well, the other captain.


Lexia was normally a part of Alina's offensive division, so talking to Keita was a nice change. Although both captains were intimidating, Lexia would prefer Keita over Alina any day. Alina was just...far too hard and brutal. She saluted and immediately changed her tone to a formal one. "All clear on east, west, and north sides. South side..." Her eyes shifted down to the little girl. "All clear, no situations."

Katie grinned at Dave, revealing a missing top left tooth. "I snuck out so mommy wouldn't make me eat!" Well, her parents tried to feed her some weird things (Leaves of the poison), but she knew better so she'd run off. Of course she'd developed a resistance to them, but for a while she got pretty sick each time she'd eat. Then she turned to Keita and narrowed her eyes. Pulling on Dave's pants, she asked "Is she a psycho?" While pointing at Keita. This time it was an actual question.

Camille/Bathilda

Camille started to fixing hilt, when Bathilda waked to noises and headache after drinking too much previous night. She rised up from bed, dressed up, eat little bit and walked downstairs.


"Do you must keep so much noices, Cam?"


"Morning, Bat. There is customer at shop. Go look if he wants something else than his sword fixed."


Bathilda walked behind counter.


"Hi."

Mickey Sanchez- Lower level- outskirts.

Mickey watched as the corporal sliced into the greenhorns back, and in its flailing he almost missed the target. However the captain held it in place with a stab and he managed to land the blades right into the corporals initial wound finishing the creature. Yet he didn't touch the ground, mere inches from it the cords pulled taught and yanked him back up to the Point where he initially jumped from.

He smiled as his heart pounded, very few things offered the rush that bungee jumping into the jaws of a monster.

"Nice save there captain." He said with a smile at the two superior officers.

Dave glanced down at the child but immediately looked back at the Captain. "You'll have to pardon her ma'am. She's some sadistic kid, no one important. Though, as my fellow soldier would like to word it, I've been completely professional." He said with a small smirk, glancing at Lexia.

Corporal Aidan Jax




Location: Lower Level, Outskirts



Aidan looked at his blade, covered in the blood of the beast they had just slayn. He whipped the blade out to send.mosy of the blood flying twoards the ground. He put it away and pulled out his notebook, sketching the dead creature pinned to the tree with the words 'Hes "hanging" around'. He chuckled at his cheesy joke before climbing and making his way up towards the captain. "I forgot how fun killing monsters was." He said as he arived. He turned and smiled back at Mickey. "Nice final blow." He stated.

Location: Mid-Level, near Outskirts


Lexia nodded alongside Dave. It was a forced habit, where she usually stood up for other soldiers around Alina so she wouldn't get mad at them. "Yes, the sadistic kid." She looked at the kid again. This time, she noticed a bit more, like how the kid was missing a tooth and had multiple wounds. Maybe it was from the parents. The last time a case like this happened with evil parents, Lexia was with Captain Alina. Thankfully, she wasn't allowed to watch what Alina did...


Lexia snapped back to reality and crossed her arms. "I think it's best we actually go back on patrol."

Shiru looked back over the counter to see Bathilda. "Oh, hello there". He was trying his best to be patient, since he knew that there would be some monster fighting right now and didn't really want to miss it. It probably wouldn't take too long before he was able to join the others.

Captain Alina Acklen


Location: Lower Level, Outskirts


Alina jumped off the tree and back to where Mickey and Aidan were. She pulled out a small towel. "Damn. Blood on my hands? This is, like, exactly how hepatitis happens." Alina began wiping down the blades of her swords. Greenhorn blood didn't taste too bad (she's a captain, of course she knows), but it sure as hell did leave a stain on metal as she walked towards the 'barracks.' "You two, freshen up and decontaminate yourselves."


The 'barracks' was a compact structure with no proper beds. Instead, there were six water pumps along the walls for showering, a water tank for drinking water, spare uniforms assigned by size, extra axe blades, hilts, handles, swords, sword blades, and even military grade rope. Each soldier was required to decontaminate themselves before transitioning from the lower level to the mid-level. Monsters had diseases that, while they couldn't directly kill humans, they could contaminate food and even the trees themselves.

"You know, that sounds like a great idea!" Dave said gently pushing Lexia along, speaking with the Captain. "Well, Mon Capitan, it's been great talking with you but as you know, we have a patrol to get too. So, if you need anything, we'll be walking the streets, checking out stores, really getting shit done. Have a nice day Cap!" He called before pulling Lexia along, making a quote unquote 'escape'.

Keita Ushima Middle Level Near Outskirts


Keita shook her head at the child's question. "No I'm not what one would classify as psycho." She turned her attention back to Lexia and Dave. "Tell me more about this scream where was it? What are your guesses to what it was? Finally do you think it could pose a danger to us?" She as a Captain had to keeo in mind the safety of all her fellow soldiers. If she didn't then what kind of captain would she be? An idiot or at least she was now since she wasn't talking to anyone. She hadn't realized the two were already leaving. No matter she'd find out about scream from someone else.

Katie frowned at the two leaving, looking a bit ticked. She didn't find it fair that they could just ignore her, so she skipped along after them. "Where going?" She asked, skipping up next to Dave. She glanced at Lexia, but she hadn't really spoken to Katie, so the girl didn't know what to think of the older girl.

Before Lexia was hastily dragged away by Dave, she managed to give some information. "I'm sure it was a human, I don't think it's related to us because the people down there usually end up screaming loudly every morning. It could be a greenhorn but I think that someone else took care of that. I think Captain Alina's in the lower level anyways, so you might wanna ask her cause I don't know. Okay, thanks, back to patrol-" She tried to fight against Dave's grip but then felt that she was definitely going to be dragged back to following him. Instead, Lexia turned to him and tried to talk. "You just dragged me away from a captain! Do you know what that means?!" Lexia bit her lip and tried not to remember what happened the last time she ditched a captain, to go pee. Long story short, Lexia ended up sitting on a broken toilet. She shuddered slightly before looking at the kid. 


"No, you can't follow us. We're on patrol. Go back home, and yes that is an order."

"Relax Lex. I'm sure the cap will understand. Doing our duty and everything. Besides, she's no Cap Alina. We'll be fine." He smiled a bit before spotting the girl, sighing. "Listen kid, didn't your parents ever tell you not to talk to strangers?"

Katie shrugged. "Well mommy talks to strangers... They can't be that bad. Besides, I don't like when daddy wakes up. He's mean." She confirmed with a nod. By mean, she meant veeeery mean. Mean as in bruised mean. No way was she going home. "I always out now. Why no?"

Location: Mid-Level, near Outskirts


"Alright...fine. You're right." Lexia rubbed her eyes and looked down at the kid, not exactly catching her drift. "You're how old. Five?" In reality, Lexi thought the kid was far too stupid to be even a 5 year old, and too much of a brat to show any decent respect to the people who sacrificed their lives so she wouldn't die a horrible death, such as being impaled through the torso by a greenhorn. Lexia had seen that happen to someone before.


She stepped towards Dave, a little closer. Without Lexia's knowledge, she had turned in such a way that Katie could see the blood-covered axe as well as a wound. Since Lexia didn't wear boots on patrol, there was an old wound visible, presumably from a monster.

Katie walked a bit closer, looking at Lexia's leg. "What's that?" She asked, pointing towards the wound. "Did a monster do it?" She looked a bit excited now. "When I get older, I'm going to fight back for earth! We can go to the floor again! Which monster did it?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. "I'm Katie, who're you? What kind of fighter are you?"

Lexia Meyers

Lexia didn't want to answer all the kids' questions, especially since she doubted she knew the names of any of the monsters, except maybe a few famous ones. Talking about the fight against monsters was really just pain for her, as it wasn't anything she took pride in. Instead, she joined, really, to protect and comfort her little brother, who was downright terrified of the monsters after his last encounter. Instead of giving an answer, Lexia just let out an quivering sigh and looked down. Her bright eyes closed as she walked away from the two, wanting to have nothing to do with the kid's insensitivity anymore.

"Lexia, wait!" He started walking after her, but first, to deal with the brat. He turned on the kid, fuming with rage. "Let's make something clear kid. Neither Lexia nor myself want to ever see you again. If we do, we,lol chuck you off the nearest balcony and leave you for the geckos!" And with that, he ran after the Lexia.

The camaraderie is strong in this one. 10/10
 
Katie flinched, twisting her head away. She really didn't know what she did wrong. She had just been curious, and suddenly Dave seemed just like her father. Katie stood there silently, trying to figure out what had just happened. Without a tear, Katie headed back towards the merchant's area.


Her house was a medium size, full of weird artifacts. Katie opened the door, one word sounding through the whole area "BRAT!" And the sobs would continue from that moment, blood and bruises all over.

Location: Mid-Level, Merchant Area


Lexia turned her darkened eyes towards Katie's house. She heard the kid getting beat up, and only had one thing to say. "Brat is an understatement." The military was authorized to kill criminals, and at this point she truly felt like she had to do something about it. "Alright brat, let's see what your parents are made of." Lexia turned to Dave with a dark glare and then turned towards the house.


Without another word, Lexia sprinted down towards their house, pulling out a knife. Her eyes shifted to the girl's blood and bruises, then to the parents. "I get it now...the military doesn't approve of your actions. Stand down!" She pointed the knife towards the parents and narrowed her eyes.
