Early morning. Most in the middle, lower, and upper levels were sleeping. The stillness was occasionally broken by the roar of a monster or the squeal of a dying animal. Most were desensitized. The military men and women were all allowed to return homes every night, except for captains and corporals, who slept in the lower level settlements. The military. A seemingly pathetic display of mankind's defense against beasts. It wasn't even organized. Hell, the captains 19 and 21, respectively. They couldn't be taken too seriously. But then again, trauma changes one in the way it changes most. But that shouldn't matter at all. After all, in the most recent years, humanity discovered their strengths. And most importantly, they discovered...
The Height Advantage.

Captain Alina Acklen
Location: Lower Level, Outskirts
As the morning progressed, Alina remained on the farthest tree from the center of civilization. What exactly was she looking at? It was a Greenhorn, prodding along and trying to climb a tree. The monster grumbled in disappointment when it realized that it was doing nothing more than pushing its body against the tree and sliding down. Alina, however, watched the monster's shenanigans with a straight face. "That's the sign it's a new morning." New morning meant a new routine of idiocy from the military. Alina looked back to an actual safe spot to stand on. About ten meters away. The captain crouched and leapt into the air, shooting forward off of the branch. She landed hard on the ledge and stood as she waited for others in the military to arrive.

Lexia Meyers
Location: Mid-Level, near Outskirts
Lexia opened her eyes to see the coldness of her house. When did she get this little tree hut, nobody remembers. Probably not from her family. She didn't know where they were at the moment, nor did she care. After she mentioned the military, they pretty much abandoned her. Lexia glanced at her wrist and got off the bed, grabbing a set of clothes off of her counter and began to get dressed, all while thinking about the military. "Two little Greenhorns sittin' in a tree. F-U-C-K-I-N-G." The girl giggled to herself before storming out the door and making her way around the mid level, hoping to find someone else in the military. She hoped she wasn't the first to be awake...
