The Elder Scrolls: Red Diamond {Rp}

Lyg noticed the sum of people with others to talk to and didn't want to be the odd one out. She reached into her coin purse and pulled out a few coins, tossing them to the lonely khajiit. She gets his attention and nods her head towards the empty seat next to her. "Come over, I'm bored. I'll buy you a drink." She took a sip of the mead given to her by the waiter, feeling the strong kick in the drink. She was half curious about why there's a khajiit in these areas, considering the recent circumstances with skooma dealers and racism. She was also half bored, she needed something to fill her time.

"Hah, thank you, miss." The Khajiit quickly picked the septims and hid it in his pockets. "So who are you?" He asked before standing up and walking over to Lyg, staring at her for a good two seconds before he sat down. "And what can Khajiit do to help? Oh, and before you ask... Yes, Khajiit accepts the drink, " He continued, gaining interest in the stranger. 'Weird, most people calls Khajiit a thief and try to get as far as possible' He thought while observing the female, keeping his right hand on the short sword holster that was about to break down or something like that.

@Lekar

Lyg chuckles, taking another sip as the khajiit takes a seat next to her. "Let's just say I don't keep races in mind too often." She smiles and looks over at her new company. "If people think you're a thief, why do you stay here? You clearly could be living better, friend." She finishes her drink and puts the glass on the table, leaving it for the waiter to retrieve. "I'm Lyg, an archaeologist and a scholar. I just called you over so I could have someone to talk to..." She looks back, seeing a couple groups of people, laughing and sharing a good time together. "Seems like everyone else was taken. I assume you don't know anyone here? I'm not a resident myself, I'd say that's something we both have in common. What's your story?"

@An Unknown Person

"Ah... Ja'aasha.. The ex caravan guard turned thief..., and yes, Khajiit know three travelers that are in a little group that allowed him to go with them, you know, that kind of nice people that we rarely see these days... so... my story begins when Khajiit was in his early teens... when my father, that was part of the Fighter's guild in Dune, taught me how to fight without a weapon, and a friend of his taught me how to use a bow,Ja'aasha grew up training with both, and blah blah blah, daily routine until Ja'aasha was 24, when he decided 'Well, Ja'aasha want to explore Tamriel.. so why not hop in the first Caravan' that passes by?' So Khajiit did, and he met this caravan that allowed him to travel with them, as long as he worked as a guard, Khajiit accepted it and then set off to Leyawiin, where we were supposed to take a boat to the Imperial City" He stopped and looked down for a second before continuing. "But the caravan was ambushed and three of the members died, so this Khajiit ran off without thinking, ending in Bravil, where they entered the Thieves Guild." He looked up after finishing his slightly vague backstory. "And you, miss?"

@Lekar

Lyg let the story sink in, fumbling with her cup a bit and processing this kahjiit's hard life. "A living's a living." She said, trying her best not to sound judgmental.  She sat up, priding herself in her life. "I grew up as an only child, my parents were archaeologists, and I guess I've always been fated to follow in their footsteps. My name is based on a theorized location my parents studied long and well. No progress had been made at all. It is said through my ancestry that a far relative behind me had one day gone crazy, yelling to everyone about how he found out how to get to 'the Adjacent Place.' A place called Lyg. It's said that he spouted craziness about stepping side-ways through the world and landing in Lyg, which is supposed to be a mirrored, darker version of Tamriel, according to the 36 Lessons of Vivec." She noticed that she was getting ahead of herself and slowed down, the khajiit's mind was probably swirling in confusion. "He was never heard from again since that day, no records of him existing afterwards. This man, this presumed crazy man, had plagued my family with countless years of research and study. Trying to find a family member in my tree since him that isn't a scholar or something like that is like looking for a diamond in dirt." She sighed, she was probably boring the man, but he seemed to still be listening. "My parents studied the history of the world, their parents before them, and so on, so forth. We look to discover the darkest secrets of the world, from Lyg, to the Divines, to the Daedra. We study anything and everything. When my parents died of age, that was my signal to get to work. Since then, I've dived into dungeons head-first, risking my own safety for the thrill of discovery. I don't mean to brag, but I have learned quite the lot over my years of study, I've even been offered to help armies with my knowledge of ancient powers and the lands of Nirn, some places consider me irreplaceable, in reality, while I do know a lot, I work for myself; unless the cause is just."

The Khajiit listened to her story, keeping his calm expression, but inside he was confused. "Lyg... A mirrored and darker version of Tamriel you say? Khajiit heard something about Tamriel being pulled into Coldharbour by lord Dagon himself... but that? That is a place Khajiit would not want to visit... heh." He joked, trying to raise the humor after she finished her story. "And this place... Lyg, do you have any idea about how you can access it? Khajiit would love to join you in your adventur-" He stopped as he noticed her bandaged leg (My bad if it was covered). "Miss... are you sure your leg is alright? Khajiit could get you to a doctor if you want.." He asked, now having a dead serious expression as he looked at the bandage, then at her.

@Lekar

(Wow, I got the notif 10 minutes later)

Lyg looked down, she had completely forgotten about her injury, she supposes the alcohol was doing its job. She simply waved her hand, "Bah, it's nothing. I've had worse. I'll fix it up later tonight." She was glad to hear he was interested, but honestly, if she had found a way to Lyg, or any inkling on how to make the trip, she wouldn't be here right now. "All he said was that he 'moved sideways' in a very specific manner through the plane of Nirn. Honestly, Lyg is rumored to exist on a different time on Nirn. The more you move through Nirn, the more time progresses, this is why getting to Lyg anyway else would be nigh-impossible, even for... immortal creatures." She almost slipped, nearly letting out that she was a vampire. It was one of her well-kept secrets, and for good reason, not everybody is comfortable around vampires. "I'd just hate to drag you into a little family rumor, it's my burden to bare, and I will research it until I die." She looked back at all the groups in the tavern. "So your... 'group,' I guess you can call them. They're the ones behind the Amulet of Kings business, right? The foretold band of saviors? Are they here?"

@An Unknown Person

"Oh... sorry if Khajiit is bothering you about your leg... he just don't like seeing people wounded... especially friendly.." The Khajiit spoke up, looking like he completely ignored the fact that she said 'Immortal creatures' "And not really, miss. The Imperial is here delivering a message to the Mage's Guild, the Breton is visiting some friends and the other one... well, nobody really knows about it, he rarely spoke up, even when we shared food and water." He then looked around for a good minute or so of silence before speaking up. "Immortal creatures you say?" he let out a soft laugh, moving his hand away from the short sword holster. "What about them, lady?" he asked, casually leaning back on the chair as he looked at Lyg with a fake curious expression. "Khajiit has all day..."

@Lekar

(Wow, I'm gettting notifs like 10 minutes later)

Lyg tried brushing it aside, but the khajiit seemed persistent. "I mean, immortal creatures have all of eternity to contribute to themselves. How do they spend it? Satisfying their own worthless and greedy needs. Vampires don't do anything to help themselves, they just kill and feed because they want to half the time. If I had immortality, I would dedicate all of my time to studying, advancing myself, finding ways to move beyond the mortal planes. If Vivec could do it, implying he really existed, then it's possible." She thinks she did a good job on covering her tracks, admitting to someone she just met that she was a vampire could turn into a really ugly scene, and fast. "Anyways, have you heard of Vivec before? He's an important figure in the land of Morrowind, and the only recorded mentioning of Lyg. He, in his lifetime, achieved the state of CHIM, a sort of evolution. He saw the Tower of creation and kept his individuality, and thus ascended to a form beyond mortal death, free from the laws and corruption of the gods. Truly marvelous if you ask me..." She zoned off, realising that she might have lost the khajiit. "Sorry, it's the scholar in me, I tend to trail off once I get going. Anyways, I only ask because I was looking to join myself. The band of saviours sound like a bunch of warriors, and what good are warriors going into a fight that involves history, if they don't have anyone to understand that history? I'd say I foot the bill really well. What they're most likely going to deal with is something that goes to Oblivion and beyond, and it certainly sounds like the best opportunity I'll ever get in a long while to obtain some of the world's most well-hidden secrets."

@An Unknown Person

Oreesu would continue sitting down on a tree stump, and Staring at the group of people. She would then close her eyes and memorize her spells in her mind.

"Yes, Khajiit do know the history of the Dunmer figure called Vivec, the Warrior-Poet, also known as Vehk... and later during that time as Saint Vivec... Ja'aasha knows he was the patron of artists and rogues, but most of the information he has about him is pretty vague. The Tower of Creation you say? Khajiit never heard of it... there are tales that he used some sort of... heart... to achieve the state of CHIM, and please miss, I am not as dumb as the average person." The Khajiit stopped as he noticed the Inn slowly getting emptier because of the people returning to their houses or going back to work. "Are you sure you want to stay here the rest of the day? We could always go for a walk, or even visit the local healer to get your leg fixed" The Khajiit stood up. "I could carry you if you want..." He joked, trying to just break the monotony of the conversation and actually do something because he didn't want to stay too much time in the same place.

She realised that the khajiit probably wasn't going to let her injured leg go without notice. She shrugged, "Since you seem so worried, Sir. Ja'aasha, I will take you up on that offer. Carry me away, my knight in shining armour." She said in a joking tone, arms out. Honestly she was pretty impressed, she didn't expect this man to be so knowledgeable in Vivec, especially since he's a khajiit. "So who taught you about Vivec? Last I checked, khajiit weren't so welcome in Morrowind." Lyg realised that she was probably asking a dumb question, she had known about Vivec for so long, back when he wasn't exactly common knowledge in foreign places. Nowadays Vivec might be taught in every school around the world, she wouldn't know.

@An Unknown Person

"Khajiit's mother taught him a lot about Tamriel, in fact, by now she might be already working as a teacher back in Dune, almost everyone loves her... well... expect from that other teacher that didn't get the job, luckily, and my father by now might be even a " Ja'aasha said as he smiled at her joking tone. "Can you at least use your good leg so Khajiit will only have to stay as support?" He asked as he patiently waited for Lyg to reply. 'Eh, she is nice, Khajiit wouldn't mind helping her.' He thought before finally speaking up once again. "Eh, Ja'aasha probably look like a white knight right now... but his mother taught him to always try to help friends." He mumbled, only loud enough for her to hear him speak.

@Lekar

Lyg smiled and shook her head, it was worth a shot. She stood up, arm on the khajiit's shoulder as she leans on her good leg. "Sounds like your mother taught you well. Friends are important... I knew that once. Nowadays, I'm not one for making friends." Guess I can't help it, she thought to herself. For the first years of her vampirism, she watched her friends age, she watched them grow old and die of age, it was something she couldn't go through again. "So, what's your opinion on the moth priest predictions? They've never been wrong since I've been researching them, so I take their words as fact. The Elder Scrolls are mysterious, but they're alive. They 'tell' the priests things, it's not just something they're reading."

@An Unknown Person

The Khajiit slowly moved forwards, opening the inn's door, once again leaving the building. "So where to miss? Khajiit could go to the healer, or a store to buy something for your leg... but the healer knows what he is doing... so Khajiit will decide for you..." He started to walk towards the mage's guild base, remembering that his Imperial friend told him about the healer nearby the guild. "Oh.. moth priests are surely interesting, they have their temple in the Jerall Mountains, but they also stay in the White-Gold tower... right? Anyways, Khajiit agrees with you, most of them turn blind from reading the scrolls, at least that is what Ja'aasha was told, and you miss, what do you think about the dragon crisis that happened in Skyrim?" He asked, now genuinely curious about what she knew.

@Lekar

Lyrillia was quickly becoming more bored by the minute as the group waited to start their adventure, so she quickly teleported back to her focal point atop Red Mountain. On Red Mountain, she grabbed some heart stones in case she needed them in the quest and her lyre which was used to enhance her spells. When back in Gideon, she decided to pass the time by singing for Magnus in his language of Creation. Using her innate power, she felt a sharp rock in the ground and pulled it up to slice her wrist with it. Bleeding into her music she sang,

"MYRIAD LIGHTS - AT THY VERY BEST,

TRICKSTER'S DELIGHTS - SHARD UPON MY BREAST,

UNFULFILLED NIGHTS - WAITING TO BE BLESSED,

WHEN THOU SHINE INTO MORE BRIGHTER LIVES,

ALL OF OUR KIN WILL CONQUER OUR STRIFES,

Vorngor listened to the song and quietly nudged the snow elf,

"How long do you think it took her to come up with that one? Still it was good."

though his other companions were all well and good he found the snow elf to be the easiest to get along with. He hadn't met a snow elf in some time so he figured why not keep up a good relationship with this one.

@Unbound

"The dragon crisis was amazing. Bad for those effected, but great for us scholars. The return of Alduin and the revival of dragons cleared so many rumors! Can dragons travel through time unscathed? Can dragons be reborn? Do dragons even exist on the same plane as mortals, or something greater? The answers came in the form of a catastrophe, but it's still an answer. The amount of dragon crypts I dug through when that went down was far too many to count." She hopped around on her one good leg, only the support of this khajiit keeping her upright. "You know... you seem reliable. I've been looking for someone to help me with my ancient endeavors. I can't pay much, but, it's something. You're free to decline, won't hurt my feelings. Just know that it's dangerous, and I can't guarantee what you'll be getting yourself into. Not even I know what guardians keep the world's secrets safe. We'd also need to find that group of 'saviours' as prophesied."

@An Unknown Person

"Ay, the dragon crisis really did affect smaller towns, Khajiit heard about one or two being destroyed, it is weird since the crisis extended for quite the period of time, don't you agree? Because this Khajiit heard more about the attack in the roads than cities." Ja'aasha looked forwards, noticing they arrived at the Mage's guild. "Oh... here it is, Gideon's mage guild... and that is the healer's house Ja'aasha supposes, but it is closed.... where should we go now, oh poor lady Lyg?" He spoke in a joking tone as he looked around. "And yes, Khajiit is interested in helping you with your... ancient... endeavors, Khajiit guesses that he can take some things that aren't really important for your study... but can be sold for... a higher price in the market." He mumbled the last part, looking around again. "Want to go after the group of saviours or just go the nearest store to buy something... you know, for your leg?" he asked, now in a less humoristic tone.

@Lekar

"Oh trust me, a couple of months of selling the useless, ancient junk I find and you'll be living easy. It's how my parents were able to afford the huge library and studies that were passed down to me. I don't usually take too much from the caverns I delve, it only weighs me down, but if you want it, go crazy, I won't stop you." She thought about where she wanted to go, the alcohol was fading, and the pain in her leg wasn't as bad as before, but it was coming back. "They can't go too far, let's just stop by a store and get this fixed up." Lyg has always done her work alone, for better or worse, she's never been able to cope with the thought of someone dying doing her work with her. There's no excuse to waste someone's life for personal gain, but this khajiit would actually be helping the entire world if they do manage to find the saviours. She supposes that's a good enough reason if any.

@An Unknown Person

"Am I the only one you want to talk to?" Riara smirked.

Continuing to cast the ice around herself,

"I like the conversation though, it's nice. Most people would ignore a lady like myself unless I would initiate the conversation first. So yeah, I appreciate the conversation. That, and where I came from I don't talk much. I mostly practice."

she said, changing her casting to the other Palm.

"Let me start another topic, you know why I'm doing this yes?" She asked curiously, still casting the spells.

"Your easiest to talk to. The dunmer and high elf seem to preoccupied with their shared interest in magic. The argonian is just annoying so all that's left is you. To answer your question yes your doing Thisbe job for the money and your casting that ice spell because it's incredibly humid here."
