Following the carriage situation and Jaxon's naming as Dorm Mediator, I've actually established a rule for myself on the topic of Jaxon starting fights. Jaxon does not actively instigate physical conflict unless he's genuinely convinced a life would be in danger otherwise.

Example 1 would be the Carriage One fight where Jaxon was convinced Morgan would kill Alex if he and Ash didn't intervene.

Example 2 would be in the planned "Gates of Hell" arc I mentioned earlier. Through Demonic Mental Manipulation, Jaxon is convinced by outside forces that Namira is holding Alex hostage, prompting Jaxon to turn against Namira and attack her in a blind rage until Namira (mid-fight) asks if Alex would want Namira's blood falling on his hands for her sake.

Tl;dr - Jaxon wouldn't fight back in that case, since the duel would be for his own interest rather than for the sake of saving someone else's life.
