Twist Twist

Ryuko saw Tangrowth burst into flames. As much as the scene looked cool, Ryuko instead let out a terrified scream, which surprised Cubone. Ryuko ran away from the now burning pokemon as it appeared to be running after her, before turning to the left and rolling forward out of the way as the Tangrowth Tripped and rolled into the lake, flames being quenched but from the look of things, it was too tires to fight anymore.

Huffing and puffing, she looked to the Ghost type and yelled, "A little warning next time please? I saw my life flash before my eyes!"
After calming down for a brief moment, she saw the opening in the distance.
"The bad guy must be past that clearing! Come on friend!"
She said to the duskull, as she ran towards the clearing.

After calming down for a brief moment, she saw the opening in the distance.
"The bad guy must be past that clearing! Come on friend!"
She said to the duskull, as she ran towards the clearing.

The scary skull what was Duskull's mask seemed to smile at Ryuko's reaction as she ran from the terrifying Tangrowth, her scream making him tingle inside. "A little warning next time please? I saw my life flash before my eyes!"

He bobbed up and down as if laughing at Ryuko's comment, very happy with himself and his antics. And so when the Dragon Type offered chance to go with her, he doggedly followed. After all, people like Ryuko where hard to come by in the Safari Zone. Slipping into Cubone's shadow as the pair left the Swamp Area through the clearing, the wet grass beneath their feet turning into gritty dirt as they entered the next area. However they would quickly come to a halt as they came face to face with a tremendous rock face, the sun almost blocked out by it's presence with only the faintest rays gracing Ryuko with their warmth. "Welcome to the Mountain Area, soldier!"

288px-Johto_Safari_Zone_Mountain_HGSS.png

Blocking the sun's light, Ryuko could only see a shadowy figure looking down at her from the mountaintop, though his harsh and demeaning tone gave him away. "Just like the Indigo Plateau, right soldier?!" asked the shadowy soldier as he stared into the distance, taking a deep breath of the fresh mountain air.

"Top of the world, where only the best dare challenge you as you stand as one of the four greatest Types that ever lived! One of the true Elite! A member of the Elite Four!!!" the man roared, his arms outstretched as he basked in natures, as well as his own, grandeur.

After a few moments, he looked down at Ryuko with a sharp movement of his head "So recruit do you think you have what it takes to challenge a member of the Elite Four?! Let's find out!"

Disappearing from sight, Ryuko was left to climb the momentous mountain before her though it would not be an easy task, the enduring eminence composed of hard stone and redoubtable rock. Her only blessings were the almost sheer slope at the base, seemingly the result of Larvitars who tried and failed to eat their fill of the monstrous mountain, as well the occasional branch or root of some ill planning tree. At least there were caves within the cliff face, used by Meditites for meditation, to rest in if need be though getting to them was a problem in it's self.

Twist Twist

Elite Four? Never thought this poacher guy would be one of them...

Wind blew her hair towards the left of her as she smirked.
"I've spent all my life to become one to the best. If you really wanna fight me, then let's go!"
With her two companions by her side, she flew up towards the top of the mountain, and landed feet away from the poacher. She circled around him as she began talking.
"You wouldn't mind telling me your name before we start? It'd be hard to refer to you as Poacher. After all, its comon courtesy to get to know your opponent's name, isn't it?"

"It's Sergeant to you, maggot!" growled the Grass Type "And you have not finished the exercise yet!"

Looking into the trees, he motioned his head towards Ryuko, glancing at her from the corner of his eyes. Suddenly there was an explosion in front of Ryuko who still circled the Sergeant, the blast pushing her back slightly though the man himself remained unfazed. "Cannon! Cannon!"

Within the branches of the tree was the Pokémon perpetrator, it's black and white feathers blending her in with the dark canopy she sat within, though her colourful beak, still glowing red hot from it's Beak Blast, would give her away to any who noticed. Turning her head to one side to stare at Ryuko she let out another call "Tou! Tou!"

It was a distraction however as her trainer appeared, rushing past the Sergeant and grabbing up Ryuko. Clad in a green jumpsuit that almost disguised her role as a Kabu Corp operative, the burly woman's pinstripe suit however remained visible, the green garment unable to be zipped up all the way with the zip hanging defeated around the middle of her ample chest. Taking the Dragon Type into the air as she leapt off the cliff, the operative proceeded to drop her as she quickly pulled the cord from her backpack, her prodigious parachute allowing her to float gracefully in the air as she engaged Ryuko.

Now he hears more voices besides Annes as she gets closer and closer to her destination, and by essence his too. Andy not knowing who those new voices were as Anne chatted with them before Andy would see her do an about face and notice him. "Great now we are busted " he thinks though all that happens is Anne complaining about her being followed as if he was stalking her. The dragon's best imitation of the K-I-S-S--I-N-G song didnt help things either, Andy just giving him a smug look staring daggers back at him, "NOT...MY...TYPE!" he whisper-yells to Excalibur before moving on in the room she had led them to.

The area being a coliseum-like room with a battle going on along a bridge section of it. with 3 guys, presumably all with Anne around. Now the only thing is, where the heck was Chance at if he was even in this room .

Ryuko fell through the air, as Cubone hung to her shoulder screaming for dear life. Duskull popped out of Cubone's shadow as it sat on Ryuko's other shoulder, waving its arms in delight as they free falled to the ground. Ryuko flipped forward and landed on the ground safely as dust flew up from her stop.
Ryuko looked up to the Kabu Corp operative and growled.
She put her hands together and fired a dragon pulse at the mid air opponent, before stepping back and drawing a sword.

She looked to both Duskull and Cubone respectively before speaking. "We'll fight her together! Duskull, care to cause some mischief to give us the inititiive?"
Duskull chuckled and waved it's arms before blue flames appeared in front of it, and the flames spun towards the Kabu Korp Operative, intent to burn.

Excalibur laughed his strange hissing laugh at Andy's protesting. With Anne off in the distance, he chanced a glance past the two men who were clashing in front of him. Down in the pit he caught a glimpse of messy yellow hair, and the tired Trainer it belonged to. His eyes nearly teared up once more as he recognized his master, then they widened in horror. He saw as Chance was outmaneuvered by the last of the Bisharp who had been putting him through the ringer. The Flash Canon ripping a hole through his friend, Excalibur moved almost as quickly as the beam of energy itself. He ducked directly underneath the thrust out sword of Sergio, and ignored Jackie who was engaging the Elite Four member. He jumped through the gap in the railing left by the Knight-like steel type, a wild look on his sharkish face.

With a thrust of his powerful legs he sailed through the air in a dive at the Bisharp, flying past Chance like a rocket on it's way towards a target. Chance fell backwards lifelessly as he did, and landed with a plop on his back. His sword rolled out of his grasp and he stared at the ceiling, coughing once more. The Bisharp had been taken off guard by the new arrival to their duel, and barely had time to put up his blades in defense. Excalibur didn't seem to mind as the tips dug into his chest, and fit his whole jaw over the head of the steel type he had made his prey. With a whipping motion he tore it from it's body. In this state, Excalibur hardly seemed the gentle protector who had led Andy to the bunker, and more like a true beast. That was until he turned his head back towards where Chance lay, and approached with his snout low to the ground. He nuzzled Chance's cut up arm gently and whimpered.

Kassandra watched on with interest, having floated directly over the railing to hang in the air over the pit. It had been such a swift flight that she had circumvented the stationary Wormadom's psybeam only barely. Still, it's metal sound left her twitching and affected. She would surely land less powerful attacks in the future of this brawl which seamed to have sparked up out of nowhere. For whatever reason, however, she was more interested in Chance's recent collapse.

In front of the Wormadom, down the same steps Jackie had entered, came two sets of footsteps. When Falco emerged from the threshold's shadows, he scanned the room briefly. His eyes fell upon the sad scene of the Dragon Type attempting to rouse it's defeated Trainer, and his hard face broke into sadness involuntarily. "Oh... Oh no..." He said quickening his pace to stand beside the railing. He sensed no hostility from the Wormadom, and caught sight of it attacking Kassandra, and therefore counted it among his allies in the room. "KASSANDRA YOU WITCH! YOU PROMISED! CHANCE LIVES, THAT WAS PART OF THE DEAL!"

"SILENCE YOU FOOL! As if you weren't going to betray us eventually for one reason or another. You lowly commoners are all the same, guilty consciousness no matter what you choose to do," Falco yelled in response, and the flap of his wings sent a blast of air behind him as he increased his ascent with a Tailwind, leaving Bunker behind on the catwalk. Before he reached her, he formed his fingers into a point outstretched, and around it gathered a Drill like Aura. Kassandra twirled and grabbed his fist to redirect it with minimal effort, and their faces were close in their aerial grapple.

"Well, at least we understand each other," he growled.

Meanwhile across the expanse, Sergio hadn't noticed the new arrivals to the room, be it Andy, Bunker, or Falco. Briefly a pokemon had charged under his sword, and the next thing he knew he received a shin to his temple. While reeling from the lightning fast movement, he barely had the composure to send some of his Metal Coat to cover the open spot on his back. The feeling of a solid Dark Type strike into it's steel let him know he had predicted the attack correctly. Speedy types always went for getting behind you, especially when you're as big as Sergio. He wouldn't be much of an Elite Four member, however, if all it took was superior speed to overcome him. Sergio's next move would normally be to aim a backward chop at his opponent's head where he knew it was, however realized the meddling Dark Type had adequately wedged his blade into the ground before even executing a barrage.

"Well well, aren't you clever," He taunted. In the next moment his shield was absorbed back into the bulk of the held item, and out of Sergio's back erupted several large fists made of solid Steel. Not only were they large, and moving as fast as Jackie himself, but they all glowed as they were given power by the Steel Type master's Bullet Punch.

Chance Bridgerton

Was... was that Excalibur?
Thought Chance as his numb body toppled backwards. He stared at the ceiling, unable to speak from the sheer amount of pain he was in. He didn't know how long he'd been battling before Jackie showed up. Hours? It must have been. He felt now that even attempting to walk would kill him. Then, he suddenly became very aware of the cold steel floor he was laying on. He barely noticed as Excalibur nuzzled him, and his awareness slowly spread out from himself and into the metal. At the same time this strange sensation began to take hold, the stone tablet Sergio had dropped began to glow. Not all of it's glyphs lit up, but the ones that did shone a pure white light. Then, the energy from the Unknown-shaped letters hopped off in small sparks. They traveled through the air and eventually settled on Chance's chest. Softly they lay over top and disappeared into his flesh. Then, the fading glimmer of consciousness came back in a rush. His eyebrows raised, and suddenly he felt not so powerless.

He sat up, slowly at first, and found his face next to Excalibur's. Excalibur smiled widely and roared softly, pressing his forehead into Chance to be pet. Chance obliged and laughed.

"Hey now, buddy, don't tell me you were worried," He said, beginning to stand. As he did so, sparks began to fly off of him. An aura glowed around the former Electric Type Leader, yellow at first. Slowly a white energy began to mix in, changing the color of his orbiting electricity from yellow to white as well. The field only grew, and Chance began to float just a few inches off the ground for a moment. When he landed again, the steel plating around his feet ripped up as if by telekinesis. It was not this, however, which caused them to begin to float and rotate around both he and Excalibur. It was Chance's newly acquired steel typing. "Actually, I'm feeling pretty good all of a sudden," Said Chance, clenching his fist. As he did, several pieces of steel came apart to exactly the sizes required to cover his various wounds. From small cuts to gaping hole, he was patched up with perfectly placed scraps of metal, making him look somewhat cybernetic. Well, that's very useful.

Duskull chuckled and waved it's arms before blue flames appeared in front of it, and the flames spun towards the Kabu Korp Operative, intent to burn.

The operative was hovering in mid air as Ryuko's Dragon Pulse hit, landing square in the chest of the pinstripe paratrooper as she began to descend. Though hurt, she continued on in her descent with a look of grim determination, guiding her parachute through the wind currents like she was one with them as she readied her Floaty Fall. Slackening the toggles of her chute to increase her speed, the overhead operative eyes bulged when she saw Duskulls Will O Wisp coming straight for her. If any of her equipment caught alight it would prove to be a disaster, if not deadly, for the operative so she called out to her Pokémon Toucannon.

Watching from the cliff edge, the Cannon Pokémon quickly took flight ducking his wings beside him as he freefalled for maximum speed to help his trainer. With the aerial skill that comes only to a Flying Type, the black and white bird swooped past his trainer, zipping in from left to right in front of her as he intercepted the Ghost Type move. With the flames beginning to take hold Toucannon used Feather Dance, shedding his burning feathers before the rest of him was caught alight. The fiery feathers were almost beautiful in their descent, the burning down reminiscent of flittering fire flies in the evening as they trailed behind the operative who now unleashed her attack, diving down on top of Ryuko with her legs together to unleash a diving swing kick.

Ryuko took the kick and fell back, before flipping back into the air and landing a fair distance. Ryuko picked Cubone up and threw him towards the opperative with one hand, while yelling, "Go forth!"
Cubone let out a surprised yelp before getting up close to the opperative and swinging his club towards her face.

Duskull, miffed that its will-o-wisp got blocked by the Toucannon, decidedly flew at the bird pokemon, waving its arms above its head in an attempt to scare off the bird, before melting into the opposing pokemon's shadow. Duskull then appeared behind the Toucannon as it slammed its head into the other pokemon's backside.

BUNKER BAILE
As Bunker and Falco made their way down the steps, Bunker could hear the sound of fighting coming from below. He rolled his shoulders and stretched his neck from side to side as he warmed up with a series of stretches in preparation for the fight ahead {Bulk Up}. The Elite Four were no joke and Bunker needed to be at his best if he wanted to stand a chance against them. A cramp or pulled muscle at just the wrong moment could spell certain defeat or even death for the aging fighter.

As the pair reached the bottom of the stairwell, Falco emerged on to the catwalk first and as Bunker stepped on to it himself, he heard his avian associate mutter something before rushing towards the metal railing. Bunker's gaze followed him and that's when he saw the coliseum like pit below. Within the pit, he noticed a Garchomp standing over it's wounded trainer. Falco screamed at Kassandra before taking to the air with a flap of his powerful wings and engaging the Ghost Type in combat.

Bunker briefly shook his head in regret before returning his gaze ahead and towards the metal monolith that was Sergio standing further down the catwalk. It appeared the two of them may have been too late to save Chance but they had to remained focused unless they wanted to join him. As Bunker looked down the catwalk towards Sergio it appeared to him that his foe was preoccupied by something. The Fighting Type squinted his eyes to get a better look and he caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a red haired figure ( Twist Twist ) behind Sergio but it was difficult to tell for sure with the Steel Type's massive frame blocking his view.

Bunker could feel the wind blowing from behind him {Tailwind} thanks to Falco's ascent earlier so, with his foe's attention seemingly elsewhere for the moment, he used it to his advantage. With tremendous speed, he closed the gap between him and Sergio as he raced along the catwalk and prepared to strike his adversary with a string of punches and kicks. {Close Combat}

With the steel limbs akin to speeding bullets, Jackie had little time to move and less room to manoeuvre trapped behind Sergio's massive frame. He could make a run for the passageway behind them, the same one the Steel Type's cheerful comrade had departed into, but the Dark Type risked a stab in the back as well an opportunity to be surrounded if the giddy girlie was still lurking within. Still how would he look if you just ran away? He'd be eaten alive on the streets if had done such a thing. No, he would take his licks and come back swinging.

Jackie stood tall against the bountiful Bullet Punches, the Steel Type move smashing against him like a metal mob, each wanting their piece of the hampered Hyde. With each ferrous fist that hit came a flashback of his youth as the shattering of his shoulder sent him back in time, raiding the trashcans outside the Battle Café only to take a Barrage from a failing trainer to the same effect. The broken nose he received from a brutish bobby as his maxillary bone met metal, the pretentious Punk Guy who almost blinded him with a False Swipe as a means to impress his Lady, the situation destined to repeat as chrome became red and his right eye black and blue. The worst of it however was Obstructed by Jackie's vest and though he teetered slightly, he remained standing.

Spitting blood on to the metal man to attract his attention, the rough lived ruffian simply Swaggered as he wiped the blood from his mouth "That... the best... you got?"

Wormadam had flipped herself round on the railing like a gymnast on the high bars, catching the metal paling with her ribbon like arms as she prepared another attack, her Psybeam a miss. However with the two new arrivals quickly causing a ruckus she decided to leave them to it and went to help her trainer, the Bagworm Pokémon caring deeply for the denigrated Dark Type. Putting one arm before the other as she traversed the railing, her pace quickly hastened as she saw the alloyed assault that pummelled her trainer, knowing all to well the bloody ramifications of his foolhardy actions in the past. With a mighty swing the Trash Cloaked confidant took to the air, flipping herself around to position herself headfirst in her descent as she opened her pink tipped beak, ready to clamp down on Sergio's head with a Bug Bite.

Spr_5b_413S.png

Andy would just scoff again at this amused Garchomp before looking to where Excalibur was gazing. The instant expression change meant they had at least found Chance; it seemed to be just too late however as the trainer was pierced by a steel laden beam, the trainer falling to the ground moments after. "Damn" was all he could get out before Excalibur rocketed off from where Andy was; right to where his trainer lay, and the Bisharp that he quickly dismembers. He sighs hoping that at least chance could be saved after this whole thing ended.

This goes from worrying about Chance to remembering that guy with the sword from the embarrassing encounter that was at Mt Mortar. He did seem to be engaged with another pokemon, Andy not really needing too much to go after Sergio and help out the Bisharp that was trying to deal with him, not to mention he had the element of surprise for now. "Give the steel type human there a flamethrower Onyx, do not hit the Bisharp" a blast of flame would look to catch the bullet puncher either before or after his attack so as not to include what looked to be his ally for the moment.

Sergio Manoke

A solid hit always made a true warrior smile. Sergio's smile after his Bullet Punch barrage was that of a brute. A crazed berzerker who felt happiness when pummeling the weak. He recalled the bulk of his metal coat back to him after his attack was through, only to hear something enraging hit his ears. A boast. A jest. The freak of a Trainer who'd just taken a head on attack from a member of the Elite Four was daring to speak back after taking his beating. The gall. The cheekiness in his tone set Sergio's nerves on end immediately, and he turned around wildly as every inch of his body was recovered by his Metal Coat. Including his samurai-like helm.

"I've always hated whelps who talk too much," He said, a metallic ring to his voice as it escaped his shell. Then, the sharp Bug-Aura-powered fangs of Wormadom made the smallest of pinholes in his defense. He had been so distracted by the unwarranted swaggering of Hyde that he completely missed the Bug Type clamping onto him. A bit of blood spurted out from his scalp as the attack struck him slightly. In a quick movement Sergio reached up and snatched the thing off his head with disgust, but the thing clung true. In his confusion, Sergio whipped from side to side, and then he felt a jab in his side that seemed much to powerful to be from the loud mouth he was focused on. Then there was another in his ribs, again as if his metal Coat wasn't even there. Then there was a kick to his spine, and an elbow to his head missing the clinging Wormadom. It knocked the bug type loose and sent it harmlessly flying to the ground by it's master, Jackie.

Bunker's strikes had landed quite well, and the last one had Sergio stumbling backwards right towards the gap in the railing he himself had created to form his sword. The irony wasn't lost on him as his foot slipped and he began to fall backwards. His surprise and suffering wouldn't be ended so quickly, however, as yet another super effective move engulfed him. A flamethrower emerged from the dark hallway, at the command of a stranger he hadn't noticed up until that point. A young man with a delicate air about him, commanding a fairy type pokemon. Sergio cursed his name as well as he fell the twelve feet down into the center of the pit. He landed with a crash, crumpling the plated metal beneath his impressive weight. He lay there a moment, contemplating what just happened.

"Cowards... three, no, five on one? None of you are warriors, it's pathetic," He said, locking eyes with the man closest to the edge. A man he did recognize this time, "Oh my, I truly didn't think I'd ever see you again Bunker Baile. I figured once Takemora's Brat whooped your ass so bad back then you'd never show your face in Johto again. I guess the weak have no shame at all," While Sergio spoke he sat up, and then rose slowly. He didn't seem entirely threatened, or worried by what happened. Instead he seemed offended by his tone. He then clenched his fists, and seemed to be gathering steel energy which pulsated all around his body. He began to yell, and finally the energy binded to his form, causing his metal coat to glint and glimmer as the Elite Four member Shifted Gears.

Sergio then crouched slightly, and pushed off of the ground in the pit. He was now much faster than before, ascending with almost just as much velocity as Falco had moments before. He rushed straight towards Bunker like a Meteor aiming to Smash him flat against the wall.

Chance Bridgerton

Chance took another moment to breath, having almost died moments before. For a second the thought, that he'd really almost lost his life, left him paralyzed and confused. The nudging from Excalibur, and commotion coming from everywhere else in the room around him pulled him back to reality. Especially the plummeting of Sergio down to his level in the room. Chance didn't immediately address the situation, as Sergio wasn't focused on him. He then assessed that Jackie, Bunker, and the mysterious Fairy Type trainer in the hallway behind them could handle the bulky bruiser themselves. Still, maybe he could come in for an assist and test out his new abilities at the same time.

Chance activated Electric Surge, and with a small step he caught up to Sergio just as he left the ground with his aggressive leap. Chance placed a hand on the man's back as he approached, and activated a move he already had in his arsenal. Magnetic Flux, which combined with his newly acquired control of Metal given by his Steel Typing, ripped the Metal Coat right off of Sergio like pulling a tablecloth. Sergio, as he sped towards Bunker in an irreversible crash course, suddenly felt very naked as he was quite literally robbed.

"What?!" He cried out in the middle of his jump.

"This is a very nice item, do you mind if I use it for a while, Sergio? I mean really, what are the odds we're both steel types?"

"Heh, and yet he is the one that runs away? Go figure" he says a bit snarkily under his breath, at least with the numbers they had a better chance of coming out of this alive, the hits having him spinning around kinda like a top. Though clearly, this wasn't over yet as the steel user shifts gears. Andy notices that Sergio now is a lot faster then before, maybe about as fast if not slightly faster than Andy was with his current item he was wearing thanks to Excalibur. This was certainly going to be quite an annoying, though not an unexpected development.

While Andy was still parsing the current events, however, he did see Chance do something of his own with the steel type user now on his level in activating Electric Surge followed by magnetic Flux. The two moves together pretty much strip the steel from his body leaving the guy as naked as a newborn. At this, one could practically see the Sableye style grin form and get wider with each passing second. "Time to really lay into this metalhead Onyx, lets try to intercept him with a moonblast!" While she does that, Andy would have his own idea of using a Spirit Break to smack him out of the air and possibly into Onyx's blast.

As soon as Sherry and Snowy arrived at the beach, the latter stopped her Freeze-Dry jetpack (?) and let the sands there soften their landing. Sherry dusted herself off, then looked around... but neither the Black Belt nor his Hitmonlee were seen anywhere. Welp, did they think we ran away? Or would they rather battle in that cramped space? Cherry sighed. Oh well, whatever. She soon got snapped back to reality by Snowy poking on Tenniel's empty Great Ball. That, and her copy of Garret's house key was gone too.

One mad dash to the house later, Sherry called out to whoever might be inside, "Uncle? Tenny? You there?" It was soon responded by Tenniel opening the door for her and Snowy. It's not just Tenniel -- Nanami was there too, looking alright much to Sherry's relief. Garret, however, was nowhere to be seen. "Thanks, Tenny," Sherry thanked her Lucario as soon as she took a seat on the sofa, to which he nodded proudly. The house itself was not that much, just as you'd expect from the house of a small family.

"By the way, you said you're looking for a friend, right?" Sherry turned her attention to her bluish-haired guest. "I- yes. Her name is Kaede, Yukimura Kaede. She has long, light blue hair, and last seen with an Alolan Vulpix. Maybe you've seen her somewhere?" it was Nanami's turn to ask. Hearing the question, Sherry took a deep breath. She turned to Tenniel who tilted his head out of curiosity, then to Snowy who also took a deep breath, and turned back to Nanami. "Actually, I'm her and she's me. But everyone here know me as Sherry Ruth. Or, well, Cherry," the ice-type girl had this weird mix of guilt and relief on her face upon revealing her real self. Both Nanami and Tenniel widened their eyes in disbelief at the reveal. And Snowy? She simply gave them all a solemn nod since she knew the implications behind it. Sherry then proceeded to tell them the tale of her three-years stay in Johto, including Garret's involvement in creating her current persona. Took Nanami quite some time to process it, though.

"But now, I can't go home even if I want to," Cherry's face turned somber. "A gym leader told me about this corrupt company called the Kabu Corp. They've gotten ahold here in Johto, I can't let 'em claim Ransei too," she clenched her fist, looking like she's about to explode from anger. The "gym leader" she talked about was actually Chance (since she didn't know about Falco and his alignment yet). "You mean, like what Nobunaga did long time ago?" Nanami questioned, to which Cherry confirmed with a nod. They only knew Nobunaga as a ruthless warlord from ancient Dragnor and that a heroine from Aurora had taken him down centuries ago. But still, comparing a corrupt company with Ransei's historical figure is a bit...

"Plus, Sherry Ruth is the runaway now. Dunno why, but those Kabu goons put a bounty on her head. So please... get outta here and tell Lord Shugo that I- Lady Kaede can't go home yet," she whispered to the point of begging though the bounty part may or may not be true at this point. Nanami's response? A rather firm "Nope," much to Cherry's surprise. "Garret, isn't it? I need to see him before I go. You're looking for him too, aren't you?" she went on, leaving no room for the ice-type to refute. Haaa... we Ranseians really are as stubborn as they say, eh? Cherry let out a dejected sigh.

"Let's start from the gym," the ice-type suggested with a serious attitude, followed by a surprised "Huh?" from her guest. "Uncle Garret is a gym trainer here. Maybe he's back to his training sessions?" she went on, not wanting to imagine the worst possibility of those Kabu goons kidnapping her adoptive uncle for what she had done. I mean, she did see Garret's Expert Belt with that Black Belt guy from before. That said, as soon as Nanami agreed, Sherry excused herself to get changed into a light orange T-shirt and a pair of black, knee-length shorts. "Remember, I'm not Kaede now. It's Sherry or Cherry," the ice-type gave her guest / old friend a brief reminder before making their way to the gym. Not without putting both Snowy and Tenniel back to their Pokeballs, of course.

With Chance and Andy taking up the fight against Sergio, as well as the unknown stranger if need be, the only remaining trace of the decked Dark Type was a single drop of blood that unceremoniously splashed on the catwalk, the man himself gone as well as his Pokémon. Jackie didn't care about Chances or Andy's reappearance, or at least he didn't have time to care, he had to keep his eye on the prize, the other two ingrates across the room, Falco and Kassandra. If he didn't keep his focus in situations like this he'd have never got off the street.

Dropped off at the centre of the room by her trainer as he went to work, Wormadam was very much use to the high speed chases and quick escapes of her overclocked owner from her time as a Burmy, the high winds and cold breezes making her cloak especially thick.

Punting the Steel Type's sword with a running boot as he used Assurance, the spiky haired speeder put all his strength into the move as a means to dislodge it, or break the weapon if need be. All he needed was just enough of the jagged thing to Fling at Kassandra. With his increased speed giving him enough time to get a decent bead, Jackie aimed at the Ghost Type's shoulder's intending to pin her to the wall. "Wormadam Mirror Shot" beckoned Jackie, as he threw the mauled metal at his target.

Already smoothing her wind swept coat, Wormadam feverishly increased her pace, polishing the glass and scraps of her cloak to a beautiful shine as she took on a Steel Type glow. Focusing the energy into her highly reflective shroud, the Bag Worm Pokémon aimed in between the interlocked duo and unleashed a flash of energy. Rushing towards the grappling pair Jackie readied a Sucker Punch, preparing himself for any tricks the two may have had in store as he kept pace with his Steel Type sister's beam.

Twist Twist

Ryuko took the kick and fell back, before flipping back into the air and landing a fair distance. Ryuko picked Cubone up and threw him towards the opperative with one hand, while yelling, "Go forth!"
Cubone let out a surprised yelp before getting up close to the operative and swinging his club towards her face.

Duskull, miffed that its will-o-wisp got blocked by the Toucannon, decidedly flew at the bird Pokémon, waving its arms above its head in an attempt to scare off the bird, before melting into the opposing Pokémon's shadow. Duskull then appeared behind the Toucannon as it slammed its head into the other pokemon's backside.

Spr_7s_733.png
Toucannon jumped at the sudden hit to his plumed posterior but luckily for him, Duskull was covered in his down lightening the blow somewhat. Unfortunately most of his moves would prove ineffective against the Ghost Type so he fluttered backwards and try to keep his distance as he charged up another Beak Blast, his colourful craw burning red hot, enough to give Duskull a taste of his own medicine if he made contact.

His trainer meanwhile had dealt a good hit to Ryuko but she had also lost momentum. Running across the ground, with her parachute trailing behind her, the operative summoned a Hurricane beneath her. With the strong wind at her back, the pinstripe paratrooper was swept into the tornado, her parachute filling with air and sending her skyward once more. Though now she had an unexpected guest, Ryuko's Cubone. Struggling to get a grip on her short wavy hair he nonetheless managed and dealt a hearty smack to the side of her head which sent her right ear ringing. With one arm on the toggles the floating Flying Type reached for the Lonely Pokémon with the other in the hopes of scooping him up so she could Drop him to the ground, the sinister skydiver already back high in the air.

Even higher still was the sadistic Sergeant watching it all from way up on the mountain. Cupping his hands before him as he channelled Grass Type energy into each hand, the energy quickly took the form of a sphere. No bigger than a football but with power of a grenade, the Sergeant hurled these orbs on to the ensuing battle below him as he used Seed Bomb. With a Laser Focus the bombs seemed to drop, exploding around Ryuko and her Pokémon with a powerful Grass Type energy.

Twist Twist

Duskull watched the bird pokemon fly away as it's mouth glowed red hot. It knew that the opposing pokemon was charging up an attack, but Duskull's right eye flashed red before it vanished and appeared in front of Toucannon, smacking the beak hard with enough force to Disable the attack before flying back and egging the opposing pokemon into following it.

Cubone flailed his arms as he fell, wailing as Ryuko jumped up to and caught the little skull pokemon before she hit the ground herself, hard on her butt.
She had no time to rest as the Elite four member from earlier began his assault, firing green energy spheres at her. She turned around with Cubone under her body, shielding the ground type from the super effective move it would have been struck by.

Wincing in pain, Ryuko looked to her pokemon with a small smile.
"It's okay Cubone, I wont let them hurt you!"
She honestly felt like she was outnumbered in this situation. She doubted that cubone could call out an ally at this spot, when the area was practicay empty from the current conflict at hand. She wished Charizard was here, or
Tyranitar, or even Bertie.

BUNKER BAILE
As Bunker raced towards Sergio, he could see Jackie's ( Twist Twist ) Wormadam come into view as it scrambled along the railing next to him. The Bagworm Pokémon's desire to protect its trainer proved more than a match for Bunker's enhanced speed and it was on Sergio before the Fighting Type was, swinging itself into the air as it preceded to bite down on the Elite trainer's protected head. Sergio thrashed wildly from side to side, trying to dislodge the cloaked Pokémon as Bunker unleashed a ballet of blows on his distracted opponent, taking care not to accidently strike the Wormadam in the ensuing melee, his powerful muscles and dense bones tearing through his foe's Metal Coat like a kid in a candy store.

Bunker's assault had sent the Steel Type lumbering backward towards a hole in the railing where he teetered precariously. The Fighting Type considered pressing his attack, but his body cried out in disapproval {Dry Skin} when his foe was suddenly set ablaze from a Flamethrower that appeared to come out of nowhere ( mdebourg mdebourg ). Sergio fell backwards over the railing before plummeting into the pit below with a loud crunch. The metal clad mammoth aired his grievance as he climbed to his feet. Bunker and his eyes met as he did so and there was a spark of recognition in Sergio's eyes.

The Steel Type's subsequent insults towards Bunker did little to rattle his composed competitor. "Nice to see you too, Sergio." Bunker simply croaked in response. He was well aware of the mistakes of his youth but he had put them behind him and unlike Sergio, he had grown a lot since their last encounter, both as a trainer and, more importantly, a person.

The Steel Type roared as his body began to pulsate and hum as it gathered energy before finally binding itself to his form. With his attention primarily focused on Sergio, Bunker hadn't noticed Chance's miraculous revival until he suddenly appeared near the steel samurai. As the latter catapulted himself into the air towards the bearded brawler, his shimmering Metal Coat made him look like a shooting star in the night sky, until it was abruptly wrenched off of him mid-jump.

As his dumbfounded opponent hurtled towards him, the laid-back Bunker stood on the catwalk with his hands in his coat pockets and a smirk on his face. Anyone who saw him would believe the seemingly placid pugilist never moved but, faster then the eye could see, Bunker struck with a Mach Punch aimed squarely at Sergio's face.

Leaving her "uncles" abode, the reunited Ranseians quickly made their way to Cianwood Gym, it's small town location granting them the luxury of not having to travel too far however as soon as they arrived the main doors were violently blasted upon as a man came crashing out, landing with a thump in the dirt. The girls darted behind a nearby rock to avoid being seen and as the man lifted himself off the ground, Nanami recognised him as one of the Fighting Type's that harassed her earlier. As he searched for his bungled bullhorn, behind him the double doors of the Gym flapped back and forth as if something was trying to get out with little success, as the glass gateway only opened a small distance each time before suddenly falling still. Finding his horn, the blasted Backer hurriedly made his way back into the building though he was careful upon his re-entry, taking the time to slowly open the door and peek inside before entering.

With the coast clear, Nanami took the lead, grabbing a Pokeball from her belt and releasing her Gliscor. With it's ability to fly soundlessly and from only a small breeze, Nanami's Pokémon was the perfect choice for a stealthy recon mission. Taking to the air the Fang Scorpion Pokemon circled around the gym, weaving from corner to corner and all unnoticed in it's endeavour. Landing next to it's trainer, Gliscor reported it's findings to it's trainer, that despite it's impressive size there were only two real entrances into the building, a side door and the main entrance. Both seemed like an ill choice for an rescue attempt with the side entrance guarded and the main doors seeming to be focus of some sort of commotion however not all was lost as Nanami's Pokémon revealed that the Gym itself was open air and had no roof. What was supposedly an inventive decision in it's new and reinvigorated design was now the perfect means of entry for the two ladies!

Without hesitation, Sherry and Nanami went skyward on Gliscor's back as they began their entry into the gym. From up high they could see the inside of the Gym which now looked more like a sport stadium, with a large open pitch which almost spanned the whole floor of the building and was covered with chalk outlines and markings, though these seemed to be for Pokémon battles rather than actual sports with clearly defined positions for trainer and Pokémon. All across the turf were training dummies all lined up or grouped together in various positions, from squares to pyramids and all showing signs of use by the trainers who trained within, the clouted cut outs riddled with dents. There were even stands for spectators to sit and watch as matches unfolded, the seating rather presumptions in its size as if the designer expected the Gym challenges to draw massive crowds.

It was only now that they could see what was causing the ruckus at the main doors as they spied the group of Black Belts, hooting and hollering as Garret engaged what could only be the Gym Leader in a shoving match. One that he was losing as the man towered over him, his body a mountain of muscle and easily twice the size of the raven haired man. Wearing a heavy kit of padding and plating, the Gym leader was like a tank as he wore his grid iron football uniform, the green and brown of his team colours only compounding this image.

With the drag marks in the dirt only feet away from the door it seemed Garret had been giving it his all in his attempts to earn his freedom the grooves in the soil nearest him inches deep, as Sherry's Fighting Type family member took another crack at escape, grabbing the giant Gym Leader by the waist and pushing with all his might. "Ha! He's at it again, dudes." joshed the gleeful Gridiron player to his followers "This old man doesn't know when to quit"

The Black Belts around him laughed, as well as the Backer, as Garret slowly moved his opponent backwards but to anyone who was watching it was obvious the Gym Leader wasn't even trying to stop him, seeming to enjoy this exercise in futility as a means to show off his strength. Sherry and Nanami had seen enough however, dropping to the ground as Gliscor took to the rafters deftly disappearing until he was needed as the Ground Type girl called the mocking mob out. "What do you guys think your doing!?"

With his only effective move Disabled, the Alolan avian was beginning to panic, his nerves frayed from the the grass type bombardment going on around him. With Duskull making a run for it Toucannon took after him, using his Rock Smash on the mountain as they flew by in the vain attempt of delivering damage with the Fighting type move's rocky refuse.

With her ear ringing, his trainer wasn't faring much better as she now kept veering to the left, her sense of equilibrium shot. It was hard enough for her to stay straight without the bombs crashing around her, each explosion rocking her from side to side. The Operative wanted to scream at her boss to stop but she doubted the mad militant would even listen and so she soldiered on attempting another Floaty Fall. With all the chaos going on around them, the pinstripe parachutist would have to take her time in planning her dive, making her intentions clear to her opponent and leaving her open to a counterattack if Ryuko could somehow manage to evade the bombs and capitalise on her flying foes predicament.

Twist Twist

Duskull turned its head and saw the Toucannon following it as it laughed. This was a fun opponent to play with. Duskull stopped in place as Toucannon was in close mele range, as Duskull vanished into the shadow of Toucannon, before popping up behind the bird pokemon and once again, ram itself into the larger pokemon, aiming for the KO.

Ryuko sat up and held Cubone close to her body as Energy balls struck the area around her. She looked around to see the flying opponent struggling to stay aloft. Taking a second to focus, Ryuko ran. With her adopted son held close, she jumped left and right whenever a attack from the mountain came, as she ran at the paratrooper. When she was right under her, Ryuko kicked herself up off the ground, and midflight, she threw Cubone at the flier, with one hand, as the skull pokemon was heading straight towards the opponent as Ryuko gathered energy in her other hand.

When and if Cubone was close, he'd use his body to blind the flier, just long enough for his mom to strike the bad woman in the stomach with an Dragon Pulse.

As Toucannon performed a Rock Smash to Duskull, his powerful pecker merely passed through the Ghost Type as he disappeared behind the Cannon Pokemon and into his shadow. With the Fighting Type move taking a decent chunk out of the mountain and causing many smaller rocks to topple from their peak pads, the black and white bird had sealed his doom as Duskull attacked with Shadow Sneak, rearing up from behind like a malevolent monster and hitting his feathered foe into the mini rockslide of his own creation. Toucannon disappeared into the rocks, swept away under the weight as he plummeted to the ground....

Using a series of Hurricane's to keep herself in position the Operative was finally ready to strike, scanning the area for her opponent who had now gotten under her. Letting the wind take her a few more feet forward, she summoned another Hurricane, riding the current around to come swooping in on Ryuko. Arching her body to perform another Hefty swing kick, she had not seen Cubone being flung into the air towards her as the courageous child used her body as a ramp to get up close and personal. Grabbing her hair to steady himself as well as hurt the Operative, the Ground Type pulled her head from side to the other like a tantruming toddler as his trainer gathered energy for a Dragon Pulse.

It was almost a relief when the Dragon Type move hit the skydiving stooge and sent her crashing into the ground, chunks of her missing hair held victoriously in Cubones hands as he quickly jumped off the low flying Operative as she hit the dirt. Laying motionless on the hard ground, the pinstripe parachutist's parachute billowed up behind her, toppling over her like a sheet as Ryuko had finally put her Flying Type foe to rest.

Up on the mountain, the Sergeant stopped his bombing as he let out a snort of derision at his flunky's failure. "Pathetic" he murmured to himself as he pulled a Dusk Ball from his bandolier.
Turning on his heel, the Grass Type pushed the button of his Pokeball and threw it behind him, the flash of light going off like an explosion as he walked away.

Beneath Ryuko's feet, she could feel the ground move once more as loose stones were jarred from the mountain before her by the almost tectonic shift below as another area seem to open up. But with an opening or passage nowhere in sight from her current level, all that was left now was the for doting Dragon Type to scale the perilous peak once more.
