It was already late in the day when the news came. Rain was pouring down outside Lucia's window. It had been a slow day. Nothing seemed to ever happen in the small town of Hike. Her police agency was short staffed with only eleven people working. She wasn't sure, but they were probably home already. The only reason she remained was that Jimmy, the town drunk, just adored giving the police station trouble. He was the main cause of paperwork to be done, save the daily reports and such. Even the emergency calls went to a bigger station out of town after hours.

Lucia began to release a sigh until the sharp sound of a phone ringing cut through the small room. Finishing up on the last of the paperwork, she grabbed the blocky black landline. "Lucelia Price speaking," Lucia answered briskly. Pausing with another sigh, “Yes of course, I would still be here… Well, we have work to be done too.” Lucia blinked and the tension in her body increased as the other voice spoke. "What?" She barked, disbelief clear in her tone. "A murder? You've got to be... No, we can handle it... Yes, I'm sure." As the conversation continued, her cheek muscles began to pulse in her aggravation. Lucia didn't like to second guessed, especially in her work. The other voice was obviously disbelieving in her and her team’s skills. "Yes sir," she agreed shortly and slammed down on the receiver more violently than she had intended. After the agitation left, the disbelief returned. A murder? It didn't even sound real. Like some sort of prank. But, it had come from a State policeman. Generally, a prank call about a murder would be... well, a felony. Even still...

For a moment, Lucia paused to stare at the door opposite to her before she called in the detectives currently on duty. This would be certainly the most amount of action most of the policemen here have seen in awhile.

Elliot was doing his normal routines, he was on his phone trying his best to connect his phone to his monitor all the way across the small town. He rarely did things at scenes of crime unless some device was involved, even then, he doubts it'll have anything incriminating on it. Elliot sighed, he examined what was in front of him, a small power box which he used to rest his laptop and other device he carried around in his carrier bag.

His phone finally connected after a small amount of time, though it couldn't sync up correctly, he still had time to finish the key he was programming. The key had the latest Windows OS download and some included malicious files. Elliot probably had a dozen of these keys, he wouldn't sell them since it doesn't crack Bitlockers encryption and it may or may not be illegal. He also could've just bought an actual key from Amazon but what's the fun in that? Elliot bought the key though and keeps it on hand if needed.

Usually while programming, or just typing out some command, he's quite giddy to test how it fits in a machine... but.. something changed, he got an alert about an emergency. Elliot grinned at the response, in his time of staying in Hike, doing crappy second work jobs, he finally got the chance to do something exciting, this being one of the few things he'd take seriously. Elliot packed all of his stuff and got in his car, heading off to where he's needed.

Lorelai "Lore" Brooks

Lore felt the heavy raindrops beating against her skin. The mint blue umbrella she was carrying wasn't doing a great job at protecting her from the rain. She was almost soaked to the bone. With hefty German shepherd in tow, Lore walked briskly through the street of Hike. Even though the rain had put a damper on their outdoor plans, she couldn't help but smile. She enjoyed the rain, the scent of it anyway. She liked it a whole lot more when she was dressed for it. Her brightly colored running shorts and loose fitting tank were absolutely not the best things to wear for such a rainy day. It was so pretty earlier... She thought to herself. She glanced down at Sherlock, who's dark fur was dripping water. He didn't seem to care, a smile plastered on his face and his pink tongue lolled out of his mouth.

After a few blocks, Lore came upon the police station. Lucelia sounded urgent on the phone about whatever it was that was new and she was only a couple blocks away, so she didn't bother to change. She hoped this didn't displease her boss. She figured showing up before everyone else would make her at least punctual. Lore walked in through the familiar door, sitting her umbrella aside as Sherlock shook violently.

"Damn it, Sherlock!" she said, sternly. "Sit and stay." The guilty looking dog sat down obediently. Lore was suddenly glad the police department was so small. She walked to her desk, pulling out a drawer labeled "Sherlock" with a bunch of sleuthing stickers all over it. She pulled out a dark blue towel and went back to the sitting dog, rubbing him down. She got to his face and started shaking it playfully. "Who's a good boy? You are! You are!" Sherlock happily licked her face and barked softly. Lore finished up but drying the floor around them. Grabbing her umbrella and Sherlock's leash, she went back to her desk to put her things away.

Skylar N. Reeves | Virgo | Police station | Alyce-Marie Alyce-Marie

On average, it took Skylar a little over an hour to get to Hike’s resident police station, where he worked, from his home. It was a quiet drive, what with his house being in a secluded area just up a rather nondescript forested mountaintop. But Skylar hated driving — it was too much of doing nothing for him to even remotely enjoy it. He’d much rather be a passenger, but he lived alone. His coworkers rarely came to his house, a sad truth of them being just that… coworkers. It didn’t particularly penetrate his veneer of apathy, though. It was just… he was getting older. His parents urged him time and time again to try to find a partner sometime soon. Skylar wasn’t into the dating scene at all, but he was positive that if he were to ever go on one he’d experience crippling waves of anxiety. He wasn’t ready quite yet. Besides, he was never a fan of random encounters.

And so, Skylar sat, very literally, hunched over the steering wheel of his car as he drove down the mountainside early that morning, eyes even more squinty than usual. He had a minor migraine this morning. Just like every morning, he often did as the result of poor sleeping habits. It was foggy, and he had a hard time seeing. One of the things he hated about living up there was that there were hardly any street lights. Driving down and up both at night and in inclement weather took all of his focus, but once he was down, it was pretty much smooth driving from there. Not much traffic goes into the small town of Hike.

Skylar spent most of the days when he was called in to work sitting at his desk, sorting through and labeling files. There weren’t very many crimes that took place in Hike compared to larger cities, a fact he was absolutely okay with. Of course, there were every day complaints, and every once in a while there were a handful of misdemeanors that required attention, half of which were courtesy of the town drunk, Jimmy. Skylar’s tried to talk some sense into the man several times, but nothing he ever said seemed to penetrate that hazy cloud of drunkenness. Even if it did, Skylar probably wouldn’t understand a word that was said through the man’s droopy slurring. He needed to come to a full on therapy session, though unfortunately did not possess the desire, nor the funds, nor the mental capacity, to willingly attend one.

It was getting late in the day, and he was still at the station finishing up a few more tasks when he’d heard Lucelia call for him. Skylar was in the backroom, storing the objects he had when he heard Lorelai, a coworker of his, enter. Exiting the backroom and closing the door behind him, Skylar greeted the woman with a wave. “Hello, Lore,” he chuckled as he took in her and her dog’s sodden appearance. “It must be pretty bad out there, yeah?”

Elliot Verdana
Elliot had to make a pitstop home, his time there was brief but it required his full attention to grab everything he needed.. and oh boy, was he prepared for this event. His house was an old warehouse storage and office space he turned into his home, it wasn't cheap but it also wasn't much of a hassle. Elliot reaches into a box marked *** Midget **** , the name is so specially marked that no one would even dare to open the box. Inside consisted of a USB stick which depicted a key, with some general USB sticks containing ways of accessing certain things. All of this was made back when, he also bought some of the stuff from eBay or Amazon.

He took everything he could, he switched his laptop with another one with a better hard drive and more cores, who could argue with more of things? Elliot got back in his car, looking at a poster taped to the passenger seat, it showed of a cat hanging on a tree branch, with the captions of: "Hang in there!" He chuckled at the poster, his motivation was restored. He started his car, and drove off into the sunset, if only he had a partner, it'd be like Starsky and Hutch. Elliot is driving a Pacer so it'd make sense.

Arriving to the police station was a hassle, the surprise rain took him by... well, surprise. Elliot had to stuff his bag up his shirt to make sure nothing fries. It'd be quite unfortunate if it did. One of the few things Elliot would take kindly to, or even just take serious, would be his electronics, it's like a second being to him. Elliot soon arrived at his desk, he set down his bag, un-bagged everything and sat down. He opened a small compartment labeled: Hardcore ******* **** it was labeled with magazine cutouts. The compartment contained nothing. Elliot looked at Skyler, and... what's her name? Lorelai? Weird name. He payed no attention to them and started to get to work... on nothing. Not only that, but he was drenched too, for the time being.

Lorelai "Lore" Brooks

"Yeah," Lore spoke up to her coworker. "Sherlock and I got soaked on our day at the park. Lucia called us in. Do you know anything about that?" Lore sat down at her desk, looking over at Skylar. She rubbed Sherlock's head, rhythmically much like a nervous tick. The dog happily wagged his tail. Thump! Thump! Thump! was all you heard in the room as the black tail slammed into the floor. The rain outside was still pouring outside. She secretly wished it would stop so that way so she wouldn't have to walk all the way back to her car and get soaked again. Lore's multicolored eyes stared at Skylar, hoping to pick some sort of hint out of him. Alas, there were none, but what else did she expect from someone who studies criminal minds like he does. A small smile crept over her lips.

“I have no idea,” he shrugged, moving to adjust his glasses. “It’s been pretty quiet here all day.” Skylar moved over to his own desk, stacking the wild papers into neat piles as he retrieved a sucker from his drawer. He leaned against his desk and glanced down at Lorelai’s dog. “Think she might announce that she had us all fooled and is getting married?” He joked, making little gestures with the sucker to Sherlock. Elliot had entered the station not very long after, taking to his devices and sitting down at his desk. The tech wiz had pulled out something small, covered in what appeared to be magazine cutouts. Skylar couldn’t make out much from his position, but made it a point to look in the opposite direction until man glanced up at him. Skylar gave a greeting, a quick “Hello.” He tended to avoid interacting with their resident technology aficionado as much as possible. He got enough headaches throughout the day as is.

Returning his attention back to Lorelai, he spoke up once more. “If she called you, Elliot, and I, then that means she probably contacted the others as well.” Skylar tugged on a loose strand of hair as he pondered internally for a bit. “God, when was the last time we were all together?”

Lorelai "Lore" Brooks

Sherlock watched the sucker with great attention, his tail wagging and his multicolored eyes following it. Lore shrugged nonchalantly as she laughed at Sky's marriage joke. "No clue, Sky, but I highly doubt she's getting married," she spoke, still rhythmically petting Sherlock. "She can't even get her head out of work. But this case sounds pretty interesting. At least that's how she made it sound." She beamed, getting all sorts of excitement jitters. Her eyes sparkled in curiosity at what the next case might be. However, nothing exciting ever happened in this small town. "Anything new with you, Sky? I know cyber geek over there won't talk much, but the silence is killing me!" The Piscean stretched out and squeezed her hair out, water dripping from her hair. She could still hear the pitter patter of raindrops against the nearby window with the low rumble of thunder in the distance.

Elliot always enjoyed listening to conversations, it was sort of like spying or ease dropping but it was fun while he was a kid. There wasn't much for him to do on his laptop, most of what he was seeing was finished or well finished projects. With how he was, he rotated his head, then began to stare at Lorelai. Elliot had the confused face on his side, he glanced at Skylar, then back to Lorelai. "I'm not a geek, I'm more... " Cracking his knuckles, he continued his statement. "A well placed nerd." It sounded about right so, it could work. Elliot looked back to his laptop, he closed all applications up, his wallpaper depicting a man with some sort of dentist machinery in his mouth. He smiled at it, and was just thankful that he got this far in life.

Since there wasn't much conveying of news, Elliot took out a book called:
Python For Kids, Not All Snakes Slither. The book was a masterpiece in conveying details and explanations of everything, in such a simple manner too. The book was also two books on both sides, so one was about Python, and the other was pythons. It was confusing but it led him to want to have a snake as a pet, those dreams ended as he learned about poison.

As a few of her workers compiled outside, Lucia was furiously compiling all of the information that she could. Surely this work might have been better of left off to Skyler, but she did it faster. First she had to call the State policemen back, realizing that he forgot to give her the address. She grew even more irritate seeing how out of depth she was in this but Lucia refused to let anyone steal this from her.

After jotting a few of the notes down, Lucia rose from her seat and left her office. She had thought that the people who arrived would come into her office with her but either they didn't come at all or they didn't get the memo. It didn't matter though. So long as some of them were here. the rest were probably sleeping or something.

Lucia glanced at the three who had come, staring down at them with intense blue orbs. She heard Elliot say something as she crossed into the room but catch exactly what. Either that, or she was to flustered to care. Probably a mixture of both. She let a sigh escape her, setting the notes (bare at best) on the desk in front of her. "If any of you can't handle gore, it's best you leave now," she started. The comment was aimed more towards Lorelai and Skyler than Andrew. Andrew, she knew, could handle it. But Lorelai was young and Lucia had secretly had hoped that she wouldn't have come. Skyler was a psychiatrist and, well, she didn't know if this was meant for him. However, seeing the emergency situation, Lucia needed all the help she could get. "If not, then we had better get started now."

Lorelai's eyes lit up in curiosity if not excitement. Sherlock's ears perked up as well as if he understood the gravity of the case at hand. "Gore? What the hell happened?" Lore spoke in an exuberant yet confused tone. She stayed seated but desperately wanted to look at the files sitting on Lucia's clean and organized desk. Her eyes couldn't help but stare at the files, eager to see and eager to start. She had been waiting to put her mark on this town and this was her chance. The multicolored orbs were filled with determination. "Let's see it!"

Elliot continued reading his book, he got it from the library and only had 3 more days to read it. He was around half way in the first half of the book, it wasn't exciting and he knew most of what was in the book, besides pythons. Elliot's ever growing knowledge was at its final point in his life, he knew most of what he needed to know to stay in his job.

Rather then acting a fool, Elliot kept to his book as he heard about gore, at this moment in time, he was rather excited, but he kept to his own devices (literally), well until he wanted to say something. "Gore? That's my favorite subject." He stopped for a moment. "No computers... that's what."

At their responses, Lucia sighed. She hasn't seen what went on, but what she heard wasn't pleasant. "At 9 o'clock this evening, a body was found." Her tone was grave, implying that the person whose life was lost wasn't dead by a mere accident. That was how it usually was but in this case... Lucia paused after saying that to clear her throat. It was clearly difficult for her to speak about. "I have some details but it's best if we leave right away to examine the scene and the body. The State police that arrived to the emergency call left it the way they found it but they taped and quarantined the area but..." Who knew how long it was going to last. The people of Hike were a curious bunch due to the quiet, boring nature of the town. It has been a while since there was any type of large crime.

Lorelai's eyes went wide, full of emotion. A murder? In her town? Unbelievable. She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to remember her training. Well, a murder would have blood....and where blood is must mean there's blood splatter and how she missed analyzing blood splatters. A fierce determination overtook the Piscean. Her body was rigid and her voice almost cold. "Let's get to work, shall we?" The young detective stood up, causing the German shepherd to stand beside her. She was still in her running clothes and preferred not to go directly to the scene at this moment, but duty calls. She had her badge, that's all that really matters. "We aren't going to get much done, sitting around this place."

Florence held her bag above her head as she sprinted through the soaked city streets. She'd gotten a call earlier about something happening down at the police station but was more than hesitant to answer. Couldn't risk getting brainwashed through radio waves. Not again, at least. As she hurried her way over to the police station, she couldn't help but look over her shoulder or at her feet with every step. It was incredibly rare for her to get involved in any cases the station delved into, so she was more than excited to see what was up.

As she finally approached the building, she kicked the lead out and burst her way into the room. "GOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!!" She shouted, not exactly knowing if anyone was in the room yet, as her hair had been drooping over her face. She brushed away the blonde locks with a big grin on her face, only to have it falter slightly at the sight of everyone else's grim expressions.

"What's all the hub-bub about?" She gazed around the room.

Elliot got up as he heard the words of murder, he was expecting a dead dog or some type of beastality gone wrong. He packed up everything he needed, his laptop, his phone, his pouch labeled *** Tall Person **** , it contained the USB sticks needed for the situation. Elliot's book was left open, he threw on his hoodie, and threw his bag over his shoulder. "Let's do it!" He cheered in excitement, it was his one way of raising moral. It was actually morally terrible but he was excited so it was the best he could do.

Looking to both of them, he was about to make a joke but it was a bad time, he should've, but morally incorrectness has struck again. "Okay, let's recap." Elliot cleared his throat. "Some duderino died. Blah blah blah. There is some two bit killer guy now, and I wanna get out of here right now!" Elliot reached in his pocket, his badge was the best thing he got.

An interruption. "I sense a disturbance in the force.... " Right as he said that, Florence walked in, ruining everything he had planned. "God dammit." He mumbled.

Skylar scoffed at Elliot’s response, placing a hand on his hip and he glanced at the man. “Seriously, what’s the difference?” He popped the sucker into his mouth, turning his attention back to Lorelai. “Not too much happening over on my end, heh.” Twirling the hard candy around his mouth, he quickly reviewed his agenda for the week. “Actually, I’ve got a question for you-“

Before he could finish his sentence, however, their boss had just left her office and approached them. The intensity of her glare immediately silenced Skylar, the virgo keenly aware of the stress lines on her face. She was even more heated than was to be expected from her. It must have had something to do with why she called them all here, although not everyone was present just yet. His suspicions were confirmed as Lucelia opened with a warning… Gore? Skylar scowled, evidently troubled by the mention of the word. He tossed the sucker he was nursing on into the trash and turned to face their boss fully. He released a groan, running his hands through his hair as he steeled himself for what was to come next. “I have a bad feeling about this…”

Apparently, there’d been a murder, the body only having been recently discovered this evening. Skylar’s brows furrowed in thought — there hadn’t been a murder in Hike in how long? Skylar had grown complacent, basking in the relative ease of his job. Damnit, how could he let himself get carried away? “Oh god…” was his only response as he settled into his chair, morbidly packing essentials into his messenger bag in preparation for the ensuing investigation.

Looking to both of them, he was about to make a joke but it was a bad time, he should've, but morally incorrectness has struck again. "Okay, let's recap." Elliot cleared his throat. Skylar pinched the bridge of his nose and stared in bewilderment at Elliot’s excited and tactless ”joke”. “’Duderino’??? Seriously, Elliot? Please remind me how old you are again; this is a murder investigation, not a summer road trip to the beach! I don’t think you-“

Just before he launched his tirade, a loud, booming voice knocked him out of it, another one of his coworkers busting into the room. The surprise caused Skylar to jump like he’d been shocked, the man fumbling around as his papers spread out onto the still-wet floor. His head whipped up to where Florence stood, oblivious to the situation at hand. “Go home!” he almost shouted, but just barely bit back the vehement locution, the words coming out as no more than a mangled grrk locked behind clenched teeth. He took a breath. “There’s been a murder, Loftwill. We were just about to head to the scene. Where were you?”

Lore began packing a couple things she would need. She had an excellent sleuth already in the form of a smart German Shepherd. The blonde packed her camera with a pancake lens, knowing she'd be getting close and personal to the body. However, to her, the body was only part of it. She needed it mainly to take pictures of the blood splatter and evidence. The Piscean moved quickly, barely scanning the items with her blue and green gaze before tossing it into her black messenger bag she kept on site. She ignored everyone else around her, solely focusing on what she was doing. Sherlock patiently waited, sitting down, looking forward. His eyes focusing on nothing but the wall, but his ears tilted slightly up to listen for commands. Lore grabbed small journal notebooks, pens, and the fingerprint duster. Who knows? Maybe this guy was just an idiot. Leaving fingerprints everywhere, not being careful. Lore cast her eyes to everyone else. "Well, are we ready yet?" Her tone was almost expressionless with a hint of impatience. She was ready for this. She could do this.

Lucia was hesitant to bring Lore and Florence along. Lorelai seemed too young, but her genius was something to behold. Or at least, that's what she had heard. So far her time at the Hike police station was the equivalent of an apprenticeship. However, she was one of the ones that seemed the most excited to go. Besides, beggars couldn't be choosers.

Florence, on the other hand, Lucia didn't know whether she would be a help or a hinder. Knowing her, she'd be more likely to look for evidence that aliens did it or some silly nonsense like that than look for a human killer. She looked at the woman in question with pursed lips, silently debating whether she'd be a help or not. In reality, it didn't matter. So long as she didn't corrupt evidence, it would be more neutral. She couldn't just leave her behind. If Florence wanted to go, she would hate Lucia and resent her if she held her back.

The captain heaved another weary sigh. "Well, we might as well get going." With that, Lucia turned on her heel and headed out, grabbing her coat before stepping out into the rain.

"A murder!?!?" Florence gasped, her eyes widened. "Really? In Hike? Hmmmmm..." Florence began tapping her finger against her chin, racking her brain for any sort of analysis she might be able to make right off the bat. She'd been so lost in her own thoughts that she nearly missed Skylar's other question.

"O-oh, me?" She chuckled nervously. "U-uh, well..... my car wouldn't start, so I had to run here! Something's messing with me again, Sky! You know how it is!" She glanced to the man with a frown. She watched the boss walk out without much of a single hello to her, as well as Lore seeming to become impatient. Had she really been that long?

"Well, no time like the present!" She cheered in her chipper tone before turning back to Skylar. She quickly dashed to his side, cupping her hand around her mouth. "Oh yeah, have you seen any.... vampiric evidence around your estate recently?" She whispered with gleaming curiosity.

No, Loftwill. I’m afraid I don’t.” Skylar briskly finished getting his stuff together, rising up and slinging his messenger bag across his body. He grabbed his cell and checked the time. Damn… it really was getting late. He wondered how long they’d be out for. Based on the information he’d gleaned so far from his superior’s action and words, this particular murder was a bit out of the ordinary. Enough so that Lucelia had said that it was something that he’d have to see with his own two eyes. Skylar gulped in anticipation. What could have happened? Who was the deceased? Was the unsub a resident here in Hike? And most importantly…

Were there any more victims?

Everyone was getting ready to head out, including him, though at this point their numbers were less than half. Skylar sighed. This was a relatively small-scale police station, so it was to be expected… but they were really shorthanded.

She quickly dashed to his side, cupping her hand around her mouth. "Oh yeah, have you seen any.... vampiric evidence around your estate recently?" She whispered with gleaming curiosity.

Florence dashed over to Skylar’s side, whispering something in his ear. He turned to her in bewilderment. “Loftwill, what on Earth are you talking…“ He stopped. “Vampires? When did I ever mention any— Oh.” Suddenly remembering the fib he had told her to get her to come see him, Skylar shook his head. “Right. Well now that you mention it, I think I did see something recently. But you know me, my eyesight isn’t the most reliable thing to go on.” He began walking towards the exit of the building, expecting Florence to follow. “And now’s not the time to discuss this. How about you come over? To my place. We can talk about a few things — private things — and you can feel free to investigate… or whatever it is you do.” The cool air hit Skylar’s skin as he stepped outside. He stood under the little ledge that was shielding at least the upper part of his body from the rain, breathing in the chilly breeze. Unfortunately he hadn’t brought an umbrella, but it appeared as though the rain was subsiding a little. He hoped that any potential evidence didn’t get washed away. “Deal?” he said, speaking to Florence as he double checked his pockets for his car keys.

“Now then, where are we going, captain?” He asked Lucelia.

A certain Samuel Bronson had been holed up in his house for the majority of the day frantically tabbing through twenty-three different windows on his computer full of financial analysis and information on his most recent client. His figure, seated at his desk, was hunched over as he stared intently at the dimly glowing computer screen, flipping tabs with his left hand while scribbling down notes with his right. He had been given this job two and a half weeks ago but he had just started today-

What time was it?

Glancing at the clock, Sam's face stiffened. 3:05pm. The deadline was at 4:00pm. Eyes narrowing in determination, a few minutes later he was forced to look up as his phone pinged him. A summon from Lucelia. He had only just recently begun working at the Hike Police Station so he hadn't taken very many jobs yet, so he stared at the message curiously. He wanted to go check it out since detective work was quickly becoming his second passion behind arithmetic but his head whipped dramatically back towards the computer screen. If he wanted to get paid, he needed to finish this first. Looking up at the ceiling for half a second as he motivated himself by thinking about all the things he'd be able to do with the money from this job - his pension would be 10.2% towards the amount that he had calculated would be optimal - he bent his neck back down and jumped back into work.

Hardly taking time to blink, the time flew by and at 3:59pm exactly Sam pressed the "send" button on the email containing the attachments for the job. Flying back in his spinning chair with his arms flailing behind him and exhausted body leaning back, Sam nearly crashed into the bookcase behind his desk before abruptly standing up, leaving the chair to spiral into the bookcase alone. Disregarding the small crash sound that occurred as the chair and shelf collided, a few books falling down, Sam blinked himself back to life. Now to see what Lucelia wanted. Going from looking like a half-dead corpse to an animated human being, Sam quickly straightened out the collar of his shirt, picked up an umbrella - he had been hearing the raindrops on his rooftop for awhile now - and snatched the keys to his car as he quickly jumped in and drove a little bit above the speed limit to get to the police station.

Pulling off a remarkable parallel park in one go outside the police station in his concentrated rush, Sam was surprised to see a few of his coworkers standing outside the station. He hadn't met many of them yet because he had just joined the department, but he did know his boss so he stepped outside his car and unfurled his umbrella in one motion before starting to walk towards the group. Dress shoes clicking on the pavement, Sam cheerily waved as he approached. Quickly reading the boss' tense mood, he raised his eyebrows and cut off a bit of his cheer. Arriving within earshot, Sam looked around once again. "What's going on?" He asked rather straightforwardly, not apologizing for his late arrival.

Lucia would have rechecked her phone for the address, just in case, if it hadn't been raining. As it was, the Capricorn was worried for the state of her device if she did happen to glance at it. As it was, she was rescued from having deal with any possible embarrassment of not remembering the exact address by the late arrival of Sam. Lucia heaved a weary sigh, running a hand through her now-damp fringe. "Good afternoon, Sam," she greeted before turning back to properly address Skylar. "I have to consult my GPS, but it's on the west side of town." Near the chapel, she believed but she couldn't be sure. All she was given was the street address and Lucia wasn't any good with that sort of stuff.

Back to Sam, Lucia said, "We'll explain on the way. We have to get going now." It was a bit cold hearted how she was treating him but Lucia justified it with the fact that he would have been fully briefed if he had came sooner.

"Deal!!" Florence exclaimed excitedly. As everyone prepared to head out, Florence began to grow flustered. She turned to Skylar again and rubbed the back of her neck. "Heeeeey, uh, Skylar..? So, you know, uh.... it'd be pretty uh.. efficient for us as a group if we, uh... y'know.. carpool! So uh..." Florence looked down at the floor as her face turned red.

"Could I ride with you?" She finally asked. "I don't like running in the rain..."

Spindel Faustine

Spindel woke up early that morning, as she always did. Yawning, she rolled over and hit the button on her clock, silencing the alarm that had been going off for the past ten minutes. She stared bleary eyed at the clock which read five thirty am.
The early bird catches the worm love.
She could hear her father's voice in her head as she arose, stretching. Perhaps, but a tired bird wasn't going to be catching any worms... Thankfully, she had coffee, and that would give her the boost she needed. She had a deadline that evening and needed to complete the order. Getting out of bed, she shuffled to her kitchen where a pot of warm coffee was waiting for her. She sat at her kitchen table for a solid fifteen minutes, sipping on coffee and munching on toast. Minx, her eight legged roommate, came crawling up the chair leg, Spindel smiled as the spider settled itself on the table beside her coffee cup. "Yes yes, I know its too early to be up Minx". she said with a yawn. She would've slept later if she didn't have work to be done. Looking into her living room, she sighed, seeing three evening gowns she needed to have altered by the end of the day.

Once she was sufficiently awake, Spindel went and took a quick shower before moving into her living room and getting to work. She'd only been living in Hike for a short time, a little over a year and a half. She found that small time life agreed with her, she lived alone in a small house on the edge of town, bordering the treeline which surrounded the town. Her official job was medical examiner, but given how quiet the town was, the only work she ever got was signing off on death certificates of townsfolk, and even that didn't happen too often. It make ends meet, and to kill time, she ran a small sewing shop out of her house. She offered everything from alteration to original designs, and toady, she had an entire wedding party of dresses to alter. It was a large order, one Spindel worked on for the most of the day, until her phone started buzzing.
She was so absorbed in her work that by the time she realized that the annoying buzzing sound she kept hearing was her cell phone.

"Crap!" she dashed over to the phone, and just managed to catch the caller. "Uh...hello...?". Spindel asked with a yawn. Hearing the voice of her boss on the other end, Spindel straightened up. "I'll uh..be right there...". She hung up, and stared down at the phone, confused. Something must've happened if Lucia was calling her in. The most crime this town saw as theft, and that wasn't something to trouble the medical examiner with. Spindel sighed and set her needle and the dress she'd been working on aside.
She was in a rush so she didn't get a chance to change, she just hoped her dress wouldn't be too much. She also didn't get to apply her make up like she would've liked, which was probably for the best, given the fact it was raining. A fact she didn't discover until she opened the front door. Spindel scowled at the sky and looked down at her attire. A long black maxi dress decorated with intricate rose patterns, paired with low black heels... this was the best thing to be wearing in the rain. But she didn't have time to change. Grabbing the umbrella off her coat stand, Spindel headed out into the storm. Thankfully she didn't live far from the police station, and when she pulled up she saw several of her coworkers had already arrived.

Great, she thought as she got out of the car. Umbrella in hand Spindel made her way over to the group, her heels clacked on the wet ground. She hadn't been here long, and rarely did she see her fellow teammates, so she didn't know most of their names. However, she offered them all a smile, and hoped and prayed that she hadn't been keeping them. "Uh...sorry I'm late...what's going on?" she asked, looking to everyone before her eyes settled on Lucia.
