Name: Cong DaLing 聪大领
Nickname: (Optional) Shifu 师傅 (master of the martial arts), Crouching Fist
Age: 61
Gender: male
Race: human
Role: Master of the Crouching Fist of a Thousand Points style
Appearance: Contrary to his ancient appearance, with a long white beard and wrinkles around his eyes, DaLing's body is quite lithe and muscular even at the ripe age of 61. When he walks across a room, those looking on can immediately sense the presence of martial arts master in their midst. His steps are strangely fluid and graceful, his back straight instead of bowed as would befit his seniority. His waist-length silver hair is always pinned, as most men of Jianyu wear theirs, using a jade and steel guan li 冠禮.
Background: DaLing is ever present in the Jianyu palace interacting with the royals and, when he has the time, teaching noble children his art of the Crouching Fist of a Thousand Points. Cong DaLing grew up in the palace a noble himself and his fondness for the place keeps him there for hours on end. In addition, he is also one of the masters of the Heavenly Blade Sect, of which there are only 8 others. Each master has their own unique style, but DaLing's style is a self-developed one, making it quite unique. Taking on the Heavenly Blade Sect at the age of 22, DaLing was the youngest pupil ever to succeed in the examination trials. After his pupil, Shi YingJie, overthrew that record at the age of 21, he had his accomplishment revoked. Still, spending 42 years in the defense of one's country and home has given this martial arts master quite a bit of experience and wisdom. He has seen a lot of bloodshed, some attempted coos, and even the death of one emperor, the father of current Emperor Yao Taizang. There has never been a day of true peace in Jianyu so far as Shifu DaLing is concerned. "Always look on the bright side of things. If you can’t comprehend this, polish that which has dulled until it begins to shine."
Personality: Charming and respectable as ever, Cong DaLing is a lover of proverb. He believes that wisdom comes from a combination of age and experience. Living for the moment, he is never one to shun adventurousness or curiosity in the youth. In fact, he encourages it, going so far as to repeatedly create these random, incomprehensible tests for his pupils that are meant to "teach" them how the world really works and what to do in precarious situations. For instance, he might order one of his students to fetch water from a well to fill a barrel at the top of a hill with only a bucket that has a hole in it. The lesson therein might be "to become like rain, you must experience what it takes to carry water in small droplets from the bottom of a hill to the top of it." DaLing believes himself to be a wise master with much to teach these crazy youth about patient and dedication. He is also quite a good calligrapher.
Gear: A set of fancy white and blue robes which he is always wearing. He never changes, nor does he wear weapons, yet somehow, when danger appears, he magically is able to summon swords from his mind that can be used in combat.
Abilities: (Whether it be talents or training, trivial or not, martial arts, skills, etc)

Crouching Fist of a Thousand Points, is a mostly offensive martial art that focuses on decimating your opponent through minimal, but precise strikes to the chakra points on the opponent's body. The primary focus lies on both knee strikes and grapples. The biggest strength of CFTP is being able to disorient your opponents and thus causing them to leave openings. On the other hand, it's greatest weakness is that multiple opponents can become very overwhelming very quickly. A true master of CFTP is one that has overcome this weakness.

Heavenly Blade Form, the typical martial arts of heavenly blade sect that every student learns. Techniques of the Heavenly Blade Form mostly including using chi to manipulate a physical blade in space. The sacred metal is a conduit for martial arts energy, and the swords can be puppeteered to fly through the sky and strike targets with extreme force.
Dancing Fish, Rolling Boulder, a simple fighting style developed for the Heavenly Blade Sect specifically. This "fighting style" focuses on speed, fluidity, and protecting members of the royal family. Quick and practiced foot techniques that simulate the shaping of water to its container are what give the ability its name. A person using DFRB can easily dodge and redirect weapons at an opponent, but other than that, about half the fighting style is different ways of placing your own body in the way of oncoming arrows, swords, and other deadly missiles.

Name: Shi YingJie 士英杰
Nickname: (Optional) Just Jie 杰, as a casual reference
Age: 21
Gender: male
Race: human
Role: student of the Heavenly Blade Sect
Appearance: (^as above) Jie in his normal life can typically be seen in the uniform of his position, a simple blue robe with the emblazoned image of the country's flag and/or animal drawn across the back of the garment. Despite the company he keeps, he is not one for grandiose fashion statements or expensive jewelry. As he would say, "The simpler the robe, the easier it is to fight in!" Typically Jie carries a side sword at his hip and a few daggers under his clothes, nothing fancy.
Background: In the dark north under the shadow of snowy mountains and misty fjords, Jie was born to rather simple parents with rather complicated backstories. His father, or as Jie knew him, a farmer and dedicated husband, was actually an ex-master of a demon hunting sect. After meeting his mother, who had been possessed at the time and killing mercilessly, he swore to save her and even went so far as to sacrifice his martial arts capabilities for a power that would banish the demon from her body. However, it was the practice of the demon hunting sect Jie's father came from that all demons, whether they be in possession of a human host or not, should be killed on sight. Because of his refusal to carry through with this one rule, Jie's father was exiled and their small family had to escape far into the untamed northern lands of Jianyu.
Growing up, Jie was often isolated from other kids his age. With a lack of social interaction and kid things to do, his father took the opportunity to teach Jie the martial arts techniques he had learned as well as some mastery of the sword and bow instead. Thus once the prodigal son was old enough to venture out on his own and an itch to see the world had crawled into his blood, he set off for the capital city in hopes of putting his Shi family metal to the test. A montage sequence happens here of Jie's journey through stretches of sunlit fields and empty wastelands. Occasionally he would meet a band of wandering marauders and have no trouble defeating them. Over the course of the months it took to reach the capital of Jianyu, Jie gained confidence in his abilities. However, the next step was joining Heavenly Blade Sect, a task that seemed on paper much easier to him than crossing half the country on foot. Unfortunately, getting into the palace and meeting the masters of martial arts in Jianyu could never be a simple task. At the gates he was denied entry into the palace. Of course, that never stops a young and ambitious adventurer. Jie managed to climb the gates and sneak into the examination in time to join the trials of initiation. The first trial was mediation and using inner zen to build magical energy within his body, the second trial was working together with the other potentials to face a magical beast unleashed on them in an arena, and the third trial was climbing the Heavenly Blade spire, a tower made of metal and glass that stretched high into the sky and had no obvious climbing grips. Over half of the examinees were gone at this point. With only about 10 potentials left, Jie started to climb the spire, straining with his abilities to hold on to the slick exterior. One student simply jumped and floated to the top. Two more student dropped instantly from the competition and left in despondent piles. Jie climbed with all his might, keeping his family in mind and his ambitions. Each handhold was another rung of life. Each bend of metal was another display to himself of just how far he'd come. After what seemed like hours, he finally reached the top.
And that's the story of how Jie entered the Heavenly Blade Sect. Of course the rest of the story is just him being a cocky goofball. That part of him has always been there and it always will be.
Personality: As a member of the Heavenly Blade Sect, he is often a part of the security teams posted around the palace and guarding the royal family. From his playful manner and broad smile at the most inopportune moments, he is, unfortunately, not a guard most royals would strongly desire to keep them company. His demeanor sets him apart from other, more serious members of the Heavenly Blade Sect. After meeting him, most people can't help but wonder how he even made it into the sect to begin with. He's not the type of person they usually see come from an upstanding, state condoned martial arts academy. He does have a serious side to him in some ways, though. If you were to ever hurt someone he cared for or go after his family, then your blood would be spilled.
Jie is very outspoken, though from his upbringing he doesn't always necessarily know when to speak up and when to be quiet. He claims that he has many friends among the members of Heavenly Blade Sect, but in actuality the members of Heavenly Blade Sect would probably refute that.
Gear: Short sword, compact bow and arrow, daggers, and light armor when fully geared

Abilities: (Whether it be talents or training, trivial or not, martial arts, skills, etc)
Demon Hunting Arts, mystical demon-slaying martial arts passed down from his father. Jie rarely uses these except for when they're necessary. The core concept of the Demon Hunting Arts is to use one's inner chi as a blade that is then conducted into the limbs in a way that increases their physical and resonant power. Energy is focused into the forearm, for example, this would be called a blade and the immediate striking power of the blade would be heightened, especially against demonic and otherworldly foes.

Techniques of the Heavenly Blade Form mostly including using chi to manipulate a physical blade in space. Name: Mir Shin
Nickname: (Optional)
Age: 31
Gender: male
Race: human
Role: nomad

Appearance:
8374937A-9089-4924-B501-F47BBE0D5DB5.jpeg

Background:
Mir was born in a small farming village east of Jianyu, deep in the wilderness and secluded from the outside in most times. The small amount of interaction with the outer world they did were some travelling merchants running into the village or a handful of bandits hoping for an easy score. The village had a mysterious old man who helped them protect themselves from outside threats, fighting them off and training the youth to fight themselves.

Wishing to see the wider world, Mir left the village as soon as he reached adulthood. With the little to no amount of knowledge about the outer world, he had trouble dealing with life as he reached Jianyu. The first few years of his life in the kingdom was a mess with him desperately trying to get accustomed to the wide world, roaming from place to place. Interested in joining the army, he signed up for martial arts training at the Heavenly Temple, and dropped off when he was given clearance to sign up in the Heavenly Blade Army as he saw more merit in being a nomad than staying as a soldier.

Personality:
Mir is quite the inquisitive type. He likes to travel to new places and learn new things, even if it takes time to get accustomed to. Meeting new people also is a joy for him, as he can hear more stories from different points of view. If anything sparks his curiosity, he will most likely ask questions until he is satisfied. How much questions he asks per time depends per case, as each sparks a different amount of his interest.

Having declined the chance to join the Hwavenly blade Army for his own adventures, Mir prefers to roam alone or in a small pack rather than becoming the part of a giant organization. As traveling the world is the reason he ventured out of his village, he puts it in one of the top priorities of his life.

Gear: (General Clothing, Items, weapons if any, etc)
He doesn't carry much armor-just a thick leather clothing in case of cold weather/rain/fights. His main choice of weapon is a "peasant flail", which is basically a long pole with a flail head attached to one end.

Abilities:
Mountain breaking pole art: A little bit of skill that Mir learned from the hometown’s old man. It is for using weapons like quarterstaffs, concentrating on heavy bone crushing offensive moves.

Heaven chasing steps: The stance he learned in Heavenly Temple, concentrating on evasive maneuvers.
