Futuristic You are a Space Marine... in Space! (With images)

Pilot talk: 1 because it's necessary.

2. Because we want information.

I need to run a Dark Heresy campaign the other day. Fuck it, maybe even a Dark Heresy-based Questing roleplay.

Screw it, let's vote here.
  1. Birdsie should run a Dark Heresy campaign. I will definitely participate. (Dark Heresy is a dice game that takes place in the W40k universe. The "You are a Space Marine in Space" thing takes place in a heavily modified parody of the W40k universe. It's honestly pretty enjoyable, but I'v)
  2. Birdsie should run a Dark Heresy-based Questing roleplay, similar to this one, however much more serious and with actual rolls, stats, and all that stuff.
  3. Birdsie sucks and can't run anything.

"You owe me now," you reply to her question as if she were stupid before walking away.

With 6 hours to spare, you get to work.

You spend one hour meditating and refilling your soul, invigorating it with a fresh supply of prana absorbed from the environment which wasn't particularly rich. (+200 prana.)

Afterward, you meditate another hour, this time reflecting on the inner workings of your mind and how it is connected to your soul. After a while, you feel a bit better. You can think a bit more cleanly and you aren't as jaded as before. It seems that your pains have also gone away. (-7 insanity. -1 corruption. +50 prana.)

Next, you go back to the medical closet. Shinrei is talking to the pilot of the ship you shot down. You approach slowly, scaring the pilot. Shinrei merely stares blankly as can be, already being used to your vile presence.

(Up to two choices.)
  1. "What is your name, girl?"
  2. "Who do you work for?"
  3. "Why were you and your pal trying to kill us?"
  4. "What do you know of the man-eating fairies!?" (+1 Insanity.)

(This is to teach you guys that you need to unite and that your actions have consequences. Look at relationships to understand. Next time ya gotta stop the insanity that Rin is trying to cook up :P)

You approach solemnly. You stop near the woman. She looks up at you, deeply frightened. You stare at her for several seconds, not breaking eye contact, slowly encroaching upon her mental territory like a superior predator. Once you believe her confidence was fully shattered, you clean your throat with a raspy 'akhem,' and begin your investigation.

"What is your name, girl?" you ask, very sternly.

"S-Sarah..." you hear a reply. You nod once, in acknowledgment. Shinrei simply looks back from you to Sarah, and from Sarah at you, trying to pull his head around what you are trying to achieve.

"Sarah... Dear Sarah, please, tell me..." you pause dramatically, turning around. You look at the opposite wall for several seconds before jumping back in Sarah's direction and smashing your right fist against the wall of the Thunderhawk. "WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF MAN-EATING FAIRIES?" you demand like a true madman. You feel a little bit more insane. Sarah jumps back a little, clearly startled, though she was more angry than afraid now. Same with Shinrei.

"What the hell, Dealer?" Shinrei springs up from the floor and looks at you accusingly. "What are you talking about?"

"The fairies, Shinrei," you calmly reply. Your tone goes a notch lower and turns deadly serious all of the sudden. "--THE FAIRIES," you say, like the deluded fool you are. You can tell Shinrei is embarrassed by this revelation of insanity. "They want to eat our flesh," you further explain your point like a sophisticated gentleman. You can already feel how much your bond with Shinrei and Sarah has deteriorated in an instant.
  1. Keep talking about man-eating fairies like a cloudcuckoolander.
  2. Apologize for your outburst of mental pollution.
  3. Get serious and inquire about who Sarah works for.
  4. Walk away without a word. Very awkwardly...

If you don't agree with me I will find you and kill you.

TFW you somehow become the main antagonist xD Hahaha Come on guys, I even said that 2 would be a logical option! Hahahaha
mnlgh.gif

Ok ok, as much as I want to say 1, I think we need to know why Sarah's here and how she found us and all. So I'm going to vote for 3. If we can choose more than one, then 2 and then 3.

Insanity: 2 and 3 because we are insane, we don't have much control over what we say or believe. They must understand this. Because we are who we are.

"Ahem, excuse the outburst..." you suddenly calm down, much to the displeasure of the two. They only seemed disturbed more profoundly at how quickly you went from rambling about flesh-tearing mythical creatures to apologizing for it. Either way, it seems they've... overlooked you.

You look down at Shinrei. The black hair of the boy is pushed aside by you gently patting it in a fatherly way. Shinrei murmurs, asking you to stop, and you do so after a few seconds. After a short chuckle, you look back at Sarah. By now, the blonde woman was terribly confused.

"I am not..." you begin, but are incapable of finding an adequate word for your condition. A few seconds pass only for Shinrei to finish your sentence for you: "--stable." You nod slowly, somewhat ashamed. "Not mentally, anyway," you add, your eyes slightly darting toward Shinrei, as if accusing him of something.

Sarah nods, although she is still perplexed despite all of the explaining. Both you and Shinrei look at her. "So, who do you work for? If you don't mind my asking, that is," you suddenly turn into a gentleman. "The Imperial Navy," she replies nigh-instantly and without regret. You're actually a bit surprised. You expected some torture would be required to get this out of her.

"Why are you telling me this?" you ask, puzzled. That would make sense. They probably want to get back for what you did....

"One, you asked. Two, I owe you one answer for sparing my life. Three, it's obvious," she says.

Now, you just feel stupid. Not only did she beat you at your game, but she did it in a savage way. You grit your teeth and your left hand instinctively rises, as if to point the staff at her, but it is blocked by an obstacle. You look to your left and a little down. Shinrei is shaking his head. The little slimy bastard is using telekinesis to keep you from killing her.
  1. Two can play that game. Cast a mind control spell on Shinrei to force him to kill Sarah. (-750 prana.)
  2. Calm down and lower your pimp-staff. You don't intend to kill her anyway. It was just a temporary outburst.
  3. Punch Shinrei in the face for questioning you.
As the two of you glare daggers at each other, the back of your mind is thankful that the woman didn't catch on yet. Speaking of which-----

"What will you do with me?" Sarah asks, her tone getting nervous. Your head and eyes alike spring from Shinrei toward her, still on that bed, disabled. She was weak and useless. The part of your brain responsible for logical thought told you to dispose of her. She wasn't fit to even to be a servant. But... your conscience kept dragging you down the road of goody-two-shoes and you felt the urge to cover her in a blanket and protect that smile, even though she isn't smiling. You look back at Shinrei. His face has: 'Can we keep her?' painted on it.
  1. Go away, numb your conscience with cocaine, and pack a bolt into her cranium.
  2. Pack a bolt into her cranium instantly to have some bitter satisfaction at seeing Shinrei's reaction to your capacity of cold-blooded murder. You are an evil bastard. It's your nature. (+2 insanity.)
  3. "You can live... for now..."
  4. "What did you expect? We're letting you go. And I mean. You're going." Kick her out of the Thunderhawk even though she can't walk.
  5. "You're coming with us."

Damage: Devastating.
Magazine: 15HydrogenShots.

Frag Grenades (2)
An explosive grenade that explodes 5 seconds after the pin is pulled. Deals decent damage against all opponents.

Krak Grenades (2)
Special grenades designed to work against vehicles. One is more than enough to disable a medium-sized tank of moderate armor.

I bet these new options really tempt you, do they?
Hmm...A lot of them are outright evil, less chaotic insanity :P

Can I do a write in for the first choice and use a mind control spell to make Shinrei hit either himself or Sarah on the head? I don't want us to kill her...yet...but I also don't think he shouldn't be punished for his insolence at using mind control on the Pimp! If no write-in, then a *suppose* 3, but that's not as flashy as using magic :P

For the second choice, 5. But only if Shinrei takes care of her! It will be good for him, teach him responsibility! Like giving a kid a plant, or a puppy! Only one that is likely to try to murder him and us later on! :D

No write-ins for now. There will be plenty of them later.

Outburst: 2. Like I said before, trust is key. Besides punching someone does not give use loyalty.

Pilot: 5. I agree with Rin here though I want to add that we should guide Shinrei a little so he knows what to do.

That is a fair point on 2, it was a bit of an outburst. And the kid is showing that he's putting his training to good use, in any case! Hmm....

You can barely hold back the desire to do something to pay back. That kid is too audacious. How dare he question any of your decisions!? You hold back the anger within you, and slowly, extinguish it.

You turn back to Sarah, who's mouth was now wide open in shock of what befell. "You're coming with us," you say, somewhat irritated. You hear Shinrei muttering to himself in a victorious tone. Sarah, as if having no other option, simply laid back on the pillow that was provided for her and watched the ceiling, still recovering from the massive crash. Your imperfect healing only worsened your mood further.

You go away to help the servo-skull in the modifications. You're done in two hours time and return to the cockpit, to find Shinrei there waiting for you.

"What about the girl?" you ask.

"She fell asleep," he says.

You walk over to the pilot seat and flip several switches on the console, then input some commands on the keyboard, effectively pinning up the new boosters and warp drive to your console. You lay your hands on the steering wheel and the landing gear of the vehicle rises up from the sand. With the screech of thunder, your new, faster vehicle departs off toward the north...

...

You've traversed what seems to have been a thousand kilometers in an hour and the fuel tank is still full. This new tank alongside with the engine modifications is far more efficient. You decide to rename the model of your vessel from the Thunderhawk to the Thunderlight. It is because you essentially combined the heavy armor of a Thunderhawk with the speed of a Lightning... almost. And sure, maintenance would be hell, but hey! It's your servitors doing the heavy lifting, not you.

Eventually, you slow down and lower your altitude. You see a single object in the desert, moving at roughly 70km/h. You enable your scope and scan the thing...

...

A grav-bike. On it, was a man in power armor, much like yours. On his back was a modified plasma rifle. Clearly, the weapon was a plasma gun, but he added a scope, and his magna-field module was heavily modified to fire at greater power, heat, and velocity. This thing could probably burn through your ship if he fired it. Either way, no doubt about it. This guy killed Shinrei's parents.
  1. Call Shinrei over and ask him what he wants to do.
  2. Fire your Assault Cannon at him to finish him off quickly. Shinrei won't like this. (-25 Assault Cannon.)
  3. Tail him until he stops, then land so Shinrei can have his revenge.

D-64 Storm Bolter
A powerful weapon that fires bolts. Bolts are special bullets propelled via a charge on the back that can penetrate armor easily thanks to their diamantine tips. They have a half-second charge that causes them to explode once they are past the enemy's armor. They are incredibly destructive weapons that can tear enemies apart with one barrage. The Storm Bolter is a deadly weapon of massive, increased firepower that can manage to fire 3 bolts per second making it much deadlier.
Rate of fire: 1Bolt/0.3s.
Damage: Huge.
Magazine: 30 Bolts.

Mark VI. Chainsword
A large sword with an engine and a roaring mechanical blade. The chained teeth of this sword have diamantine tips that lets it tear through armor like a knife through butter.
Fuel: 15 Minutes.

Fuel Tank
A fuel tank that may be used in a Flamer, Chainsword, or even in vehicles. WARNING: Contains unstable Promethium.

120 Bolts (Ammo)

Pimp-Staff

A, probably magical, a conduit of spatial forces that lets you unleash deadly pimp energies onto your opponents like arcane blasts. The Pimp-Staff stores 5000 prana points in it and recharges 500 each hour automatically. Shooting a pimp blast costs 100 prana points.

Fanoros Fictionomicon (Currently in Shinrei's Hold)
A puzzling tome of magecraft of unknown origin that contains arcane and esoteric mysteries not meant for the eyes of mortal men or gods.

Mark VII. Aquila Power Armor (Unpainted) (Pimped Out)

A durable example of Imperial engineering. This power armor enhances the wearer's strength and endurance beyond what is normally possible, but can only be worn by trained personnel like space marines. It also contains auto-senses in the helmet and other features, but it requires to be powered with electricity. The battery can be found on the back and is somewhat large, therefore leaving the wearer exposed to sneak attacks.

11kg of Cocaine
Ah, yes! The finest substance in the galaxy. This little collection of white powdered dust helps you get through the day and dull your senses until you can no longer think.

1.5 Liters of Blood (Low-Quality) (w/ Cocaine)
Taken from a dead Imperial servitor, this blood may be used for a variety of purposes; rituals, feeding vampires or perhaps drinking. Still, it is of low quality as servitors don't need blood. It is overflowing with chemicals and is very unpleasant in both taste and consistency. Kept in a small tube. This mixture has been laced with visible traces of cocaine.

You gently call out for the kid to get over here... "SHINREEEEEEI!!!"

Your behemothic yell echoes through the several, scant corridors of the ship. In under fifteen seconds, Shinrei enters the cockpit and instantly turns into a mess. He looks with angry eyes at the escaping bounty hunter. His eyes... you know them. You've looked in the mirror one time too many to not recognize that look. Either the boy or the bounty hunter isn't going to survive the next few hours, that's for sure.

Shinrei lays his hand on your shoulder. "Can you stop him?"
  1. "Sure." Fire a few well-aimed shots at the back of the bike. (-5 Assault Canon.)
  2. "Let me try..." Fire a krak missile in front of the bike to make it fall over. (-1 Krak Missile.)
  3. "I'd say it's better to wait until he arrives at his destination."

We should go with 1. Don't want to waste any of those Krak missiles, and we have no idea where the bastard's going.
