Operation: Devil’s Moon, Munich, Germany

“This is Central, Strike 1-4 have arrived at the AO. Eliminate all hostiles and secure the area.”, rehearsed Bradford. The Skyranger was docked, and the squad slowly made their way out of the craft, wary of danger. There was a thick must in the air, and a chilling hum.

In front of them was an crashed ambulance and a police car, a wrecked helicopter, crashed into a fountain, and a strange glowing pod. “That ain’t a weather satellite.” remarked Bradford. Surrounding the pod were bodies, covered in a sickly lime green goo.

Reloading your weapon takes one time unit, unless specified.”

Tip - Airstrikes: “Once a mission the team will be able to call in an airstrike. It destroys all loot but deals a lot of damage.”

Strike 1-4 had just landed, and the sight was a horrific one, the fountain destroyed, automobiles flipped over, even bodies cocooned in green slime. What Could Have Done This? He thought. He snapped back and focused, advancing to the ambulance.

(Take Cover At Ambulance, -1 Time Units)

Yves Roux
The GIGN marksman had a very bad feeling about this mission.
Roux looked at his surroundings. Dead bodies. Overturned automobiles. But that wasn't the cause of Roux's unease. It felt like he done something like this before.
Roux shrugged it off. Oh well. Roux followed Garza to the ambulance.
"Mess of a place, huh?"

“Yep,” he sighed, “But I’m sure most of us have seen worse.”

“Anyone else get this slight feeling of deja vu?”

Behind the Ambulance was a body, one of the response team. His skin was burnt charcoal black, and his organs were falling out of his chest. There was no blood, but instead, a large goopy deep red substance, with it covering the entire body.

“It appears that the soldier was exposed to a massive heat source. His blood has evaporated cooking him alive, and the leftover proteins and chemicals have coagulated into a sort of, slime. Fascinating.”, said Doctor Vahlen.

Fortunately, some of his equipment has survived.

Yves Roux
"Well, look at that. Weird weapons. Best way to start off the day."
Roux shook his head. He knew what he was getting to when he signed up for XCOM, and Roux had no regrets. Roux scratched his head a bit.
"Garza, you want the shield?"

Yves Roux
"Your call."
Roux picks up the shield.
"Hmm, gonna be hell to use this and my rifle. On the other hand... if I use a pistol..."
Roux put his rifle away and pulled out his pistol before bringing the shield to bear.

“I’ll knab a few frag grenades, they may not be compatible with my grenade launcher, but they may prove useful.”

(Take One Frag Grenade)

(Also, forgot to put it in, but suppression takes 50% of the mag.)

Operation: Devil’s Moon Part II
The eerie silence was interrupted by a cry for help.

“Hilfe…”, whimpered one of the recon team.

“What was that?”, said Bradford.

“Hilfe…”, he whimpered once more.

“He is saying ‘Help Me’, and judging by the signal’s strength it’s coming from a nearby building.”, said Doctor Vahlen.

“Doctor Vahlen, can you communicate with him?”, said Bradford.

“I will try. Hallo?Können sie mich hören?Wir sind hier um ihnen zu helfen.”, said Doctor Vahlen.

"Hm."
"Roux to Vahlen. You hear a response?"
"If not, then I don't think that weird weapons are all they have."
Roux carefully peeked from the ambulance to check what was up ahead, shield in front.
(Peeking to see what's up)

Timothy Smith
The assault had been trailing the team for some time now, keeping an eye out in case of ambush, following the team to the ambulance.
Now the assault spoke.
"Command, what options do you say we have?"
(Can we say Smith was behind the ambulance for some time now?)

“Sound like he’s in distress.”, responded Victor, “But I say we approach him cautiously. Check our flanks, check for traps... et cetera. We don’t know what these aliens are capable of.”

He kept keeping watch.

(On it)
Timothy Smith
"I don't like this. It could be a trap. I am under the impression everyone here was dead before we got here."
"I'll try to investigate as far as I possibly can."
(What options does Smith have to check on the cry for help?)
