what were you known for in high school?
being hot.... kidding. lauren was part of a band that got big during his junior year. he was already a cool dude but a rockstar filter made him even cooler. lauren was a little nerdier than people expect when they start a conversation with him but they always felt like they gained a new friend right after. he was lowkey a slut though.
what did you do after you graduated?
The night of graduation, Lauren had a bag packed for tour. No one showed for his graduation anyways but he did pretend there was. Touring was so rewarding and making the next album with him as clean vocals meant everything to him. Sadly, a rockstar lifestyle caught up to him with sex and drugs... most drugs as he drowned his reality. Everyone knows how he overdosed and almost died at 19 in a hotel room. No one knows his father didn't even answer the phone - 10 times, but the moment his grandpa got the call, he took the quickest route to Utah to see him. After, he left the band to get into rehab and instead of returning to make music, Lauren enrolled to NYU to follow the path his grandpa set for him. Only during his gap year between his bachelors and master did he reconnect with his old band, putting on a tour that rekindled his love for the stage.
how are you doing now?
Just finished his masters degree while being a studio guitarist, Lauren feels pretty fulfilled. His interview with Forbes turned him into the front page of their 30 Under 30 issue which surprised a lot of fans. As a groomsman, Lauren's just happy to be in such a beautiful place. It's not like he has to face his grandpa about a world tour or anything... Nope. Everything is perfectly perfect.

being the kid that make the biggest restroom fire to date. uhhhh it was just a cigarette and it's not his fault someone else poured liquor in the trash can. there was also a rumor he slept with the lead cheerleader but he's not confirming or denying that. finn is also the "quiet" twin between him and leon, although they still got mistaken for each other a lot. "it's the cigarette smoke." finn would joke while avoiding a girl confessing her love for him...

what did you do after you graduated?
life after high school got better. finn moved away from his drug-dependent mom by going to an expensive school that liked his sob story college essay. while in college, he didn't visit or call much to avoid both his mother and twin brother, at least he sent them money to help. After he graduation, Leon unloaded their mother to Finn when he got a nice cushy job in San Francisco. She's been with him since and he couldn't blame Leon although he was sure his brother was being extra petty for giving him the same treatment.

always trying to do everything. between studies and volunteer opportunities, drum major and mun dais, volleyball captain and key club founder... yep, girl was put through the ringer. but she revelled in it, stress and all. having dipped her toes in nearly every part of the student body is part of what made her so popular, and what made her so close with each member of the eight.
what did you do after you graduated?
well, thea was supposed to go to harvard, become a lawyer, settle down with a nice boy and have tons of grandkids for her parents. was being the operative word. when she turned down all that to study political science at the local university, her parents were... well, confused. when she did a 180 on that plan in her sophomore year and decided to pursue theater of all things, well, that was downright baffling. but, parental approval or no, the school musical had always been her favorite college application padder, and she was determined to make at least one part of her life hers. when a show she started writing during her years in uni went viral, it made it clear that she had talent, but even the degree in her wall wasn't proof yet that she could make it- and that uncertainty? well, it's definitely scary.
how are you doing now?
thea is doing okay- as okay as she can, right now. she's at a precipice, and she knows the next few years- hell, the next few months- will shape her life, determining whether she really breaks into the theater industry or ends up as a starbucks barista. she has the want, but it's the road between point a and b that is most uncertain for thea. between her own career ambitions, wedding fever, and the pressure to enjoy her young adulthood, thea quite honestly has no clue how her life is gonna turn out. and if there's one thing she hates, it's having things be out of her control.

well, definitely not keeping in touch with the group, but it's more than just that. thea feels like she was so caught up with academics and extracurriculars that she didn't truly have any non-school ties to the group. she could help them with their homework, or their various projects, but she was always 'tagging along', forcing herself out of any sort of critical role so that she could focus on what she thought she wanted. sure, they may have grown closer and become friends outside of just what made them come together, but it doesn't stop her from feeling like a fraud. god, she wishes she could go back and change things.

initially, may wanted to become a musician. however, this proved to be less than fruitful. her skills on guitar were good enough for mid-level internet fame, but didn't make her much money. during her stint in music, she married a man she hardly knew, who ended up temporarily being her "manager". their divorce two years later would signal the end of may's creative pursuits. as a mute but hearing person, she ended up making more use of her fluency in ASL, and currently interprets speeches at local events for the deaf.
how are you doing now?
her job pays about average. she lives alone and is generally a lot more jaded and depressed than people probably remember her as. after far too much struggle and heartbreak, she's lost that sunshine that everyone knew her for.

her job pays about average. she lives alone and is generally a lot more jaded and depressed than people probably remember her as. after far too much struggle and heartbreak, she's lost that sunshine that everyone knew her for.

Juno was weird. She still is weird, but that was all people cared to know about her in school. She'd spend breaks in the field looking for bugs, or in the library reading about bugs... She was bullied mercilessly for it. She looked weird, she was weird, and being weird made you an easy target. She pretended she didn't care but she was desperately lonely. She had friends, though the paranoia of them secretly hating her made her feel isolated. She'd invite them over and they'd recoil at the vivariums full of insects she kept in her bedroom. Nobody could see past the weird bug obsession. She was an artist, too, and attended weekly ballet classes. She was intelligent, creative, kind, but the bugs were a bit of a turn-off.

Juno cut ties with everyone after she left high school. It was like the disappeared off of the face of the Earth. In reality, she was working towards becoming an entomologist. People at university were cool. Everyone on her course loved animals, some of them had that one animal they were obsessed with, just like her. They thought her bug collection was awesome, they loved discussing husbandry techniques and how she kept the humidity of her vivariums just right. She wrote academic papers on her favourite species and their cool adaptations. Did you know that fog-basking beetles stand on their heads to collect water from moisture in the air? Juno got her dream job. She literally works with bugs EVERY DAY. Though she works at a zoo, the management quickly realized the tropical house was her forte. She didn't complain about how hot it was or the occasional creepy crawly landing on her arm. She's literally paid to hang out with bugs. Best. Job. Ever. However, the salary of a zoo keeper isn't particularly lucrative. She may be broke, but she's happy. Well, happy-ish. Sure, she likes her job, she likes her colleagues, she has good friends from university... but this wedding invite is bringing back some tough feelings.

directly after graduation, liv decided to ditch her old life and opt for a quieter one. since she was going to college upstate with the intention of starting anew, she spent that entire summer outside. hiking, camping, reading, etc. just her and her two older brothers in the great outdoors. life was great! then… freshman year of college and she was quickly pulled back into the person she was at her core. a terrible student, and an even worse enemy. being intimidating hot girl only gets you so far, and this forced her to really rely on herself for the first time. since when does independence include using everyone around you and completely cutting loose?
how are you doing now?
sophomore year of college was the most trying for her to emotionally get through, as she felt immensely betrayed by her body. less for the miscarriage, more for not knowing she was pregnant in the first place. once she buried those feelings deep down, Olivia really leveled out and became the emotionally mature woman she is today. well - except for the small joys of putting people in their place. beyond that, a total gem!!

'The Cancer kid' - The whole town knew who Sam was. He was the poster child for the local Leukaemia Foundation, and his face was slathered in every local newspaper. 'A fighter', 'a warrior', 'a hero'. Big bold prints singing praises of this child who was under going multiple different forms of treatment, trying to find a cure for the cancer that riddled and ruined his body. One third of his school years were actually spent at school, the other two thirds were a combination of hospital visits, asleep, or lying in bed, staring into the abyss and wondering why wouldn't they just give up on him already.
what did you do after you graduated?
Still riddled with various illnesses that took over his body, making it almost impossible for him to leave the house, Samuel stayed home after graduation. He was far too sick to venture off into additional studies, and spent most of his days baking with his mother or playing video games to try and pass the time. When he was 22, after the passing of his father, he somehow was 'healed' and was no longer ill. His mother called it a blessing from God. Now well enough, Samuel used the money his father had left behind for him in his will to move to the next town over to start a new life for himself.

His health has never been better - well, his physical health. Always making sure his body is healthy and strong through healthy eating, going to the gym or for a swim, and avoiding anything that could cause some sort of bodily harm. Mentally? Well... There is still the struggle of knowing that the youthful years of your life were taken away from you. Working as a baker and a casual position as an uber/uber eats driver, he makes enough money to cover his rent, bills and set aside some savings. He's living the independent life he had always dreamed of.
