Adela wasn't surprised that she was one of the first few to enter the class room, her nervous energy about starting a new school drove her to multiple erratic behavior. She woke up two hours before her alarm was scheduled to go off, she left the house an hour before she needed to, and ended up arriving at school and therefor sitting out in her car like a freakshow for over half an hour. As she let her head drop forward and sighed, she could only be glad there wasn't really anyone else in the room to see her behavior. She already felt like a mess, she didn't need anyone else to pick up on it too. Not on the first day.

The shuffling sounds of other teens entering the room brought her attention back to the room, and with a glance at the clock, she straightened, catching sight of a small group walk towards her. Well not to her exactly, more like the still empty cluster of seats around her.

The girl with pretty pink hair took the seat near the window, with the gangly one following after her, almost tripping over his own limbs as he took the seat next to her. It made her want to smile, seeing someone that awkward. It was always nice to get a reminder that she wasn't alone in the realm of awkward gestures. The third boy slid in next to his friend, the seat directly behind her and she forced herself to relax. She didn't want to make a fool of herself and bother the nice people near her.

The first warning bell rang through the school, and a final few stragglers ran into the room, snatching any available seat they could. The second bell rang and Ella prepared to take out her books only for her phone to vibrate.

She blinked, confused at the timing, when she noticed everyone else looked the same as she felt. She followed their example and opened the message, reading the strange quote from an unknown number. Just as she finished, a woman's voice quoted the message and introduced herself as their teacher. Ella nodded to herself. Because that wasn't weird at all then.

As the kids around her began to chatter among themselves as the teacher started writing on the board, she bit her lip, glancing at the kids who'd caught her eye when they walked in. She could see the awkward boy talking to the pink-haired girl when someone else walked in, calling for a Scott McCall. She heard the scrape of the chair as the boy behind her stood up, walking past her and out of the room.

She pushed it out of her mind, trying to focus on the book in front of her, letting the chatter around her wash over her like water when she heard it. All other sounds in the room halted, heads turning to the window as the squawking of birds could be heard, coming closer and closer.

Another bird slammed into the window, leaving a bloody mark on the glass only for more birds to fly straight through the glass and into the room. Kids, Ella included, started to scream, feeling something sharp latch onto and pull at her hair before she yanked it free and dropped to the floor, crawling under her desk.

"Get down! Get down!" Ms. Blake screamed, but she could barely hear it through the sound of blood rushing in her ears. As desks were shoved around and toppled to the floor, people continued to scream and it seemed to last forever. Ella curled in on herself, whimpering only slightly as she felt talons graze her cheek and hands until suddenly it stopped.

It took a moment but soon everyone was slowly pushing themselves up off of the floor, gazing around the room in fear and confusion, all in some state of disarray. Ella let out a shuddering breath, gripping her arms tightly, turning her knuckles white against the black of her sweatshirt. She didn't know how long she stared ahead, but she could hear the blaring of police sirens and she felt when someone gently took her by the arms and led her to a chair.

When the Sheriff walked past her, his jacket brushing against her arm, she felt her focus zero in on him as he talked to the father of one of the girl's she'd seen run inside the room at the last minute. She shuddered at the word he used. 'Hunter'.

As the gangly boy who she believed was called Stiles pulled out his phone after the police had left the room, she forced herself to let out a shaky breath. "I thought it was supposed to be safe here..." she whispered to herself.

After the night before with Scott, Stevie, Lydia, and Allison, the last thing Stiles wanted to do was go to school. He swore, his dad could sense it too! There he'd been, hard at work on his computer, trying to figure out what on earth could possibly cause a deer to act like that, when he just dragged him away from his computer! Like seriously!

He turned so he was looking at his two best friends who were walking with him. "Honestly, though, guys can you believe him?" he grumbled as they turned into their new English classroom. He followed Stevie as she slid into the window seat, sliding into the seat next to her, with Scott following him. He looked around the room, seeing it almost full, only a few seats left as the stragglers ran inside at the first sound of the bell.

He was confused like the rest of the class when their phones went off but nodded along absentmindedly as their teacher, Ms. Blake walked into the room. As Scott was called out of the room, he sent his friend a questioning look before turning slightly in his seat so he could talk to Stevie and Lydia. He frowned though, at the sight of a mark on Lydia's leg.

"Lydia, was that from last night?" he asked, leaning forward slightly over his desk to get a better look. The girl shot him a glare, before telling him what happened. She made to continue when they both heard the thump of the bird slamming into the window, leaving a splotch of blood.

Stiles sat frozen, watching with slightly wide eyes as the largest flock of birds he'd ever seen approached the school, all of them cawing and squawking. He swallowed, jumping in his seat at the sound of another one hitting the window. When the glass started to shatter as the birds flew inside the room, he shouted out in surprise, wildly swatting at the ones that got too close to his head.

As everyone around them began to scream, he lunged forward, knocking over his desk no doubt, but that didn't matter. He shoved Lydia down, yelling at her to get under her own desk, and he wrapped an arm around Stevie, pulling her down as well.

Once it was all over, he stood up with the rest of the class, gazing around at the mess that the room had become. Quickly he turned to his friends, making sure they were okay until his dad and the rest of the police and EMTs showed up. Once they did, he quickly spoke to his dad before he had to move around the room, trying to figure out the situation and make sure no one was seriously hurt.

He watched him from the corner of his eye as he tried to get ahold of Scott. He sighed as the police left, before turning to Stevie. "You alright?" he asked her, searching her face for any noticeable injuries.

Scott thought that his worst problem at the time being was getting a tattoo to remain a tattoo. he'd gone through the effort of sitting in that chair for hours, only to get into the car and watch his body heal the whole thing away. It was frustrating, to say the least, and he knew he wanted to talk to Derek about it, ask if there was something else that could be done, since he was well aware of the tattoo that rested on Derek's back, which meant it wasn't impossible.

Plus, after everything what happened yesterday and Stiles being convinced that there was something more to it, he couldn't help but feel that paranoia creeping up on him. He told himself this would be a good year. He was doing better in Biology, ready for an AP class, and he was preparing for other classes as well. Hell, he did a whole 'word of the day' thing, just to try and improve his vocabulary. It was working so far. If he was using the words correctly, that is. He had a feeling Stiles might not tell him either way, because it might just be amusing, and Stevie would probably be int he same boat as him. They didn't always excel when it came to academics but they definitely made up for it in lacrosse.

After walking into class with both Stiles and Stevie, he gave a glance to the new face in the room. He was pretty sure he hadn't seen her around before, but he noticed she was pretty. Quite pretty, in fact. Regardless, he took his usual seat — which happened to be behind her — and pulled his books out from his bag. He contemplated saying something, but before he got the chance, their phones all buzzed and their teacher made an entrance — quite a grand one, at that, but it was different, to say the least.

Scott continued to contemplate saying something when Allison handed him a note. Before he got the chance to read it though, someone came to the class. And they asked for him.

Eyebrows furrowed together in confusion, Scott got up and walked outside, only to be told — from the principal no less — that his mother was looking for him back at the hospital. Scott didn't know what this was about, and he was worried that it was something to feed his paranoia, but before he got much of a chance to question it — or even act on it — he heard the commotion from inside the class room.

Eyes wide, Scott lurched forward and threw open the door in time to see the birds going wild, and the windows all shattered. His eyes began searching for Stiles and Stevie, even Allison and Lydia, but before he caught sight of them, he was pulled into the madness and had several birds pecking at him too. Out of instinct, he crouched down and put his arms over his head and eventually, it all got over.

Unwilling to leave his friends right at this moment, Scott stayed a little longer, till Stiles' dad arrived. And with him, so did Allison's father. Scott couldn't really look the man in the eye so instead of seeing what the adults were talking about, he glanced around the room. Stiles was talking to Stevie, and Scott's gaze glazed over them after pausing for a short moment, and then landed on the redhead. The new girl.

"Hey," Scott said, knowing this was probably freaking her out. He walked a little closer so she could hear better. "Are you okay? Do you need any medical assistance or anything?" Whatever scratches Scott had gotten were likely gone already.

Stevie secretly shared Stiles' worries. She didn't want to think that something was wrong, given everything that they'd gone through in the past already, but she just had this feeling. It wasn't a good one.

Stevie felt that same feeling when she stepped into their English class for the day. The introduction, albeit unique, also struck her as a little odd, but she just tried to push it all away in favour of trying to lead a slightly tension free year, like Scott was trying to do. And if he could do it, then surely she could too, right? His whole life had been turned upside down when he got bit. And while Stevie only learned about her powers at the same time, she'd been born the way she was. It wasn't given to her at a later date.

In any case, her worries about things only intensified when Scott was called out of class. Stevie shared a quick look with Stiles before looking back to the door. Her attention was called away from it, however, when she heard the sudden thump of a bird smacking against the window, right beside her. It made her jump in her seat a little, but it wasn't anything she couldn't recover from. What ran through her mind, however, was how this was strangely similar to hitting that deer the previous night.

Before she had time to think more about it, another bird was thrown against the window. And another. They came in hoards, breaking down the windows, glass shattering and falling everywhere. Stevie was sure she had plenty in her hair, and a few scrapes from the jagged edges, but she was busy trying to ward off the crazy birds. She felt arms around her, and just knew that it was Stiles, and while she still felt the claws of the birds every now and then, his presence took most of what came their way.

Eventually, things died down, and Stevie allowed herself to look around while Stiles went to speak to his dad. This was not normal by any means. Just when she thought they could have a shot at a normal high school year. They all thought too soon, unfortunately.

Stevie rose to her feet and started to pluck the glass from her hair. She, unfortunately, didn't have the same speedy healing as Scott and most werewolves did, but she would wait till everyone else was tended to before she went to see an EMT.

Stevie briefly considered talking to the new girl, since she seemed pretty spooked, and honestly, Stevie didn't blame her, but by then Stiles came over, and Stevie noticed Scott approaching her instead, so she allowed herself to look up at Stiles. "I'm fine," she assured him. She had a few bloody scratches from both the birds and the glass, but it was nothing compared to some of the stuff she'd received in the past.

Stevie then scanned Stiles face for any noticeable injuries. "Are you?" She couldn't see much, but she doubted he'd tell her even if he wasn't fine. Looking to Scott again, Stevie felt that it might all be connected so tugged Stiles' arm and walked over to Scott and the new girl.

"Hey," she said to the redhead, offering her a welcoming smile before looking to Scott. "Why did the principal want to see you?"

Scott wasted no time answering, so Stevie knew that it wasn't something wrong. Yet. "My mom needs me at the hospital. She didn't say what for," he shrugged and then looked to the newcomer in their little gathering. "If the EMTs are all busy with other people, I can drop you off at the hospital. I'm heading there anyway." None of them knew the extent of the damage done to her, by the birds or any hysterical students, amid all the madness, so it was better to be on the safe side.

The soft tone of the voice speaking to her, snapped her out of her daze. It was a nice voice. Soothing, calm, and strong. Ella latched onto that strength, using it to drag herself from her own mind. Even before her mother had told her the truth about her heritage, she'd always pressed on the importance of someone's voice. You can tell a lot about someone from their voice. The pitch, the volume, tone. The way someone said something could tell you a lot about someone.

And this boy spoke with a strength to him that Ella wondered if he even knew he possessed.

"I.." she paused, trying to come up with a reasonable answer. She was saved momentarily by the pink-haired girl coming over, with the gangly boy following behind her. She gave the girl a small nod at her greeting, though she probably missed it, due to her looking away and starting a conversation with the boy who'd spoken to her first.

She felt somewhat bad and incredibly rude at listening to their conversation when it really had nothing to do with her, but it couldn't be helped, seeing as they started talking right in front of her. "Um, hi, sorry, this is nice and all, but uh, who are you?"

Ella let out a harsh breath of air, something similar to a laugh. She was still gripping tightly to her arms, but she could feel the tension in her body lessening the longer she was by these other teens. The bluntness of the one boy was somewhat refreshing, even if it was somewhat rude considering what they had all gone through.

"I'm A...er Ella, sorry." she said softly, her gaze flicking from one person to the next. She stood slowly, feeling her muscles protest after being locked in such a tight position on the floor only minutes before. "Um, that'd be a nice, thanks. A ride, I mean. It's gotta be better than staying here, right?" she shrugged, awkwardly, shifting her arms so she was hugging herself instead.

It was easy to let himself be led away by Stevie, headed over to Scott and the new girl. God, he'd really been hoping that this wasn't the start of something new going on supernatural-wise, they'd already had enough to deal with the past two years, but based on this latest performance, it didn't seem like they'd be catching a break anytime soon.

"I'm fine, scratches aren't that bad anyway." he rambled, as they moved across the room to their other friend. He'd seen Lydia and Allison head off together and had waved at them. Hopefully they weren't too badly scratched up, but even if they were, he was sure they could keep on moving.

He visibly followed the quick conversation between Stevie and Scott, head turning this way and that to look directly at who was speaking until he realized the new girl was still sitting there. "Um, hi, sorry, this is nice and all, but uh, who are you?"

He frowned at her answer. "A Ella? What kind of name is that?"

"It's Adela...I go by Ella, it's easier for people to remember." she responded, flushing slightly as she looked away from him.

He nodded, wanting to move this along. They had things they all needed to do. "Nice. Cool! I'm Stiles," he pointed at himself. "Stevie and Scott." he finished, pointing at each person as he said their name. He clapped his hands together, smiling brightly. They could move things along now!

"Great, introductions are done now, let's get this show on the road! Places to be, people to see and all that jazz." he almost chirped as he grabbed Stevie by the arm and began to lead her towards the door. "Come on slowpokes, let's gooooo!" he called back to the other two.

"Why did we start having that conversation that could totally lead to supernatural secrets being revealed in front of some stranger?" he mumbled, half to his friend and half to himself as he dodged around other students in the hall as he headed towards his car.

Scott gave a warm smile as the girl — Adella, or as she preferred, Ella — introduced herself. He could tell she was feeling a little flustered, and he didn't blame her. She was new here and surrounded by three strangers. Stiles got straight to the point, which wasn't always the most welcoming strategy, but it did get introductions out of the way so Scott said nothing. Adella accepted the ride to the hospital though, which was something.

"Okay, great," he said as Stiles began to lead Stevie out the door while calling back to the two of them. Scott let out a small chuckle before gesturing for Ella to go first. He fell into step beside her quickly, and spoke again. "Sorry about Stiles. He's like... permanently excited. I'd say Stevie calms him down but it's kind of the opposite," he explained, gesturing to the two who were walking in front of them.

Once they got outside and were in the parking lot, Scott scouted out his bike and began to walk toward it. It wasn't very far from where Stiles's jeep was parked so he looked at him and Stevie before getting closer to his bike.

"You guys coming to the hospital too or should we catch up later?" He knew that whatever his mother called him for had to be serious or she wouldn't have pulled him out of school. She just had no clue what it was all about.

"We'll meet you there," Stevie called out with a brief wave. She probably understood something was up, which meant she wasn't going to back out of it.

Nodding, Scott turned away and walked over to his bike. He picked up the spare helmet and handed it over to Ella. "Hope you don't mind," he said with a nervous smile. "If you're uncomfortable, I can ask Stiles to give you a ride," he said, nodding to the jeep a few feet away.

Stevie smiled at Ella in greeting when they were all introduced but before she could say anything else, Stiles was already hauling her off to the corridor so they could get out of there. They technically were leaving school in the middle of the school day but Stevie knew something was up so she wanted to check out whatever it was that got Scott's mom to call him out in the middle of class. It couldn't be anything good or it could have waited.

Glancing to Stiles, she smirked. "Relax, nothing was revealed," she said with a shrug. "Besides, I wanna know what's going on. Don't you?" She asked as she walked alongside him to his jeep that stood parked outside. She could see it in the distance, now that they'd passed through the school's main entrance.

She had no idea what was up, or if anything was up at all, but she had a bad feeling about things, and she picked up a certain... vibe, from Ella, a different vibe. It was probably the djinn in her. Her mother had perfect telepathy but all Stevie got was some mild 'feelings', and while this wasn't a bad one that she got from Ella, it was something she wouldn't mind investigating a little.

They got to the jeep, at which point Scott called out. Stevie was quick to answer, informing him that they'd meet them there. She and Stiles were probably going to discuss a lot of 'supernatural' related things in the car and it was best not to have a new girl around to hear all of it.

As Scott turned to give the new girl a ride, Stevie climbed into the passenger seat of Stiles' jeep before buckling in and tossing her bag in the back seat. "Yesterday a deer, and now birds?" Stevie muttered as Stiles got in and the car was started. "Something's not right. I just... can't put my finger on it. I thought all of this stuff was put behind us after last year," she said with a huff before leaning over to turn the radio on, keeping the volume a little low so she could still hum along while being able to listen to what Stiles was saying.

The feeling of quick comfort and protection was...something Ella wasn't used to. As Scott let her leave the classroom first, she smiled at the gesture, waiting half a second for him to fall in step with her.

As they continued down the hall and to the parking lot, she let her grip relax somewhat on her arms. Later after she was completely calm and back home in the safety of her room she'd be closely inspecting the sleeves of her sweater, hoping that she didn't find any tears or holes in the thread. She really liked this sweater, it was why she wore it on her first day, an attempt to give herself more confidence.

"Oh, it's fine," she waved off his explanation of Stiles' behavior, smiling slightly at the two. "I mean, it's kinda refreshing in a weird way." she explained.

She followed Scott to a bike and she blinked in slight surprise, not having a high schooler to have such a vehicle. Ella shook her head at his question. "Oh, no, I'm fine. Just wasn't expecting to see a bike at a high school." she joked weakly. She waited for Scott to climb on the bike before following after, hesitantly wrapping her arms around his waist as he started the bike.

She sent a glance back at the jeep Stiles and Stevie had climbed into and watched as it pulled out of the parking space the bike suddenly roared to life beneath her. On instinct she tightened her grip on the teen in front of her, startled by the volume. Once they started moving she felt herself relax, leaning slightly into Scott as they drove to the hospital.

She wasn't sure why they were all heading to the hospital, but she told herself it wasn't any of her business. It was just different from what she was used to, not having seen such a bond of friendship between people like these three seemed to hold. Maybe this was normal for such friends? Considering this wasn't the largest town and the familiarity between the three, she figured it was safe to assume that they'd grown up together, knowing each other's parents. Hopefully whatever this mother needed her son for wasn't serious.

"It must be nice having such good friends," she said to Scott when the wind wasn't too loud at one point during their drive. "How long have you guys known each other?"

He was still somewhat jittery as he nodded along to Stevie's words. Stiles knew that what she was saying was true and he was probably overreacting a tad, but after the hell they'd dealt with last year, he figured he was guaranteed a little bit of overreaction.

He sighed, running a hand through his hair as they got to the jeep. "I know, I know," he grumbled, jerking open the door and climbing inside. He did, he really did, and he probably shouldn't have been as snappy as he was to the new girl, but he was freaking out! He felt he was justified at least a small freak out here and there! "Of course I do, you know me." he shot her a small grin as he started the jeep, watching as Scott and Ella got on the bike.

"Melissa wouldn't call Scott out of school for nothing." he mused aloud as he shifted gears and pulled out of the parking lot. He nodded absently as Stevie messed with the radio while she worked out her own thoughts. "You and me both." he sighed, heading to the hospital. He didn't like the conclusions his mind was jumping to, but what else could be happening? Their lives seemed to be being overrun by the supernatural, and they still had to go to high school.

Although that seemed to be being effected, and badly, if he considered what had just transpired in the English classroom. Which, of course, he did.

He tapped his fingers along to the beat of whatever song Stevie left playing as he considered what the two incidents could mean. A quick glance in his rear view mirror showed Scott and the new girl following behind them and he frowned. "I don't like how in such a short amount of time, there have already been two incidents." he began. "The timing of this girl coming to town...it's suspicious, you gotta admit." he offered Stevie, sending her a meaningful look.

"With all your....djinn stuff," he made a weird one-handed gesture as he said the word djinn. "Have you gotten any feelings or anything?" he asked his other best friend.
