Obi-Wan Kenobi
A Bold One
A Foreword
May I start this off by saying that this isn't Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Odin knows there's enough of those around.
What This Is About
Gods have children with mortals, which results in a demigod. But which Gods exist? The Aesir? The Greco-Roman Gods? The Aztecs? The correct answer is all of them. Every single polytheistic religion technically had the right of it. They all exist in the Overworld, a world that kind of correlates to our own.
But the Gods are not the focus of this. Instead, Demigods. They are rare, as many Gods are preoccupied with each other and their various duties. Not every God or Goddess has a Demigod or Scion at any given time. But what is it these Demigods do? Generally, they live their lives as normal, just with greatly advanced skills and abilities. Nikola Tesla was a Scion of Hephaestus, while Sun Tzu was a Scion of Hachiman, and Simo Hayha was a Scion of Ullr. As you can see, Demigods take after their parents in extraordinary ways.
The RP
You are these Demigods, go as obscure or mainstream as you want with who your parent is. The RP starts either just before or just after (you decide) you receive a Visitation. This is where you are found by a god or mythical being. This is preferably your parent, but it can be another god, or even something like Huninn and Muninn. You are given gifts which increase and unlock your power. Gifts can take any form from runic necklaces to huge handguns or literally anything else. You've got heaps of leeway, and I'll let you know if you overstep. You are told of your nature as a Demigod. In your cases, you are also charged with acting as something of a group of protectors of the world from various forces, from cultists to giants and beyond as you grow in power and experience.
It'll have a somewhat TV-esque feel to it, I hope, with a series of vaguely connected but mostly interdependent 'episodes' with overarching stories and occasional 'finales' where a whole bunch of shit goes down, and everything will slowly develop and change as things happen.
I hope that sounded fun and wasn't too rambling. I'll be quite happy to answer questions and elaborate on things if you need. Just ask. And I'm very open to suggestions, I think you'll find. I'm all about including the players and their opinions on things. This is our story and plot. Not mine.
Writing Standards
You don't need perfect writing skills, but please make your posts at the very least legible, preferably more than simply 'legible'. Capitals and punctuation, people. Remember that shit.
At least a paragraph per post. More would be nice, but don't try and stretch it out if it doesn't work. I swear to every deity that exists in this setting, I will kill you if you post a one-liner.
and wateveer u do dont type liike tis or I'll not only kill your body, but your soul as well.
Ahem.
I don't expect any fancy BBcode. I know Anaxileah is going to code it up, because she's awesome like that, but it's not required. I probably won't do too much, if at all. I care more about the quality of your posts than how pretty it looks.
