You know what the worst thing is about switching schools, to William at least? Knowing that he would be in a whole school, and that he wouldn’t know a single soul walking in the hallways, plus knowing that his sister, Olivia, probably told the whole school some of William’s most embarrassing moments. Well, no, she probably wouldn’t do that, but even without that, William was scared to death of going to this new school.
Because he was so anxious for school to start again, William had already prepared everything he thought he would need, just in case. Because of the ‘just in case’, William had bought a shit ton of things, most of which he isn’t going to need. Notebooks, pens, pencils, pencil sharpeners, markers, highlighters, erasers and so on…
That random school supply haul was over two weeks ago, however, today was a different day. The first day of school. While he had woken up very early, he wasn’t tired. Oddly enough, William didn’t have even one tad bit of stress or anxiety on his face or in his voice. It was probably because he had gotten used to the fact that today could go a lot of ways and stressing out about it wouldn’t help him one bit.
Skip to an hour later, and there he is, in one of the school hallways, analyzing his schedule with Olivia, who was showing him where each of his classrooms are.
“And lastly, the General Chemistry II class is right over there.” She pointed at one of the bright red doors, and William made a mental note of where the classroom was, even though he would most certainly forget and ask Olivia to show him once again.
