Adrian Donovan

Name: Adrian Donovan
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heterosexual
"Birthday": August 11th

Distinguishing Features:
Standing at 5'10", Adrian has a slim, lightly muscled body type. He looks like someone who exercises enough to keep himself fit, but not enough to develop any real muscles. His hair is black and messy, while his eyes are a bright hazel. He usually doesn't go out without a hat or a beanie to hide how messy it really is, and so he doesn't have to do it. He has a tattoo of a four leaf clover on his right wrist.

Personality:
Adrian is what would happen if a mad scientist combined an artist with an analyst. He has a creative brain, but a researcher's heart. He loves to paint and draw, but he also isn't above spending hours looking up everything he can on something he's interested in.

Even though it may not seem like it, Adrian cares a lot about how other people see him, becoming embarrassed/flustered if his friends catch him underdressed, or see him when he doesn't want them to. He likes to meet new people and make friends. He's extremely stubborn, and it's hard to change his mind when he's set on doing something.

Everything Adrian has done to find the Coin has been driven by his fears, and because of this, he's not above lying, trying to manipulate others, or hiding information in order to make sure that he's the only one to get his hands on it.

History:
Adrian McMillian was born on August 11th, 2001, to Rachel and Henry McMillian. When he was four, he was diagnosed with late stage Leukemia. He spent a few months in the hospital undergoing treatment, but died after suffering complications from chemotherapy. While Henry grieved their son and tried to move forward with his life, Rachel refused. She couldn't accept that her little Adrian was gone, and so she created a new Adrian. She molded his personality out of the one she thought her Adrian would have if he got to grew up. She imagined him as something of an artist, since the original liked to finger paint. When she was done, she was overjoyed to have her son back, and wanted to pretend nothing from the last year of "his" life ever happened.

When she showed him to Henry, however, he was horrified. They argued, and then those turned into daily fights between them, until, less than a month after Adrian McMillian died, they were divorced. Even though Rachel created him, she blamed him for ruining her marriage, and no longer saw him as the loving boy she created him to be. She promptly gave him up for adoption.

Adrian spent three years in foster care, until a couple who couldn't have children for themselves stumbled along the orphanage he was in and adopted him. He was fourteen when his foster dad received and gave him a letter from his "birth" father. It was only then that he learned about what he really was, and he became obsessed with finding a way to make himself real and a way to convince himself that his thoughts and feelings were his own. He learned about the ring and ley-lines after months of searching for anything that could help him. Then his foster dad received an invitation to a high-paying job at a private school in a town he'd never heard of.

Extra:
He has an orange cat named Jasper.
Other than the ley-line, he doesn't know anything about Harwood.

Role: The Ghost
Name: Jamie Redstack
Nickname(s): Jay
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Birthday: 5th April
Distinguishing Features: Her dreadlocks are by far her most surprising feature, even though most would see them as gross Jamie loves them. Even her eyes however standout against them, a superb blue and sea like they are that of jewels. Yet the sweet like nature is slightly disturbed by her nose ring and taller stature of 5’8.

Likes: Literature, mangos and cats most of all.
Dislikes: Computer games, peanuts and large dogs.
Virtues: Honesty, caring nature and humorous.
Vices: Fearful, lustful and distraction.
Quirks/Hobbies: Jamie is talented at tree carving, putting shapes into the trunks of trees or in cut pieces of wood.
Fears: The dark in the corner of the room.

ceea7ea67597966ae88024ed52481d66.jpg

Personality: Jamie is a simple girl with a simple mind. She understands that anger will get you know where and powers through with kindness. She’s never been in a situation where she ha allowed for a comment or physical action has come through in anger. Not only is she kind but she is also rather thoughtful, normally putting people before herself her problems are never as important as that if her friends and family. Yet it’s her downfall as stress and worry from her own life can overwhelm her and never problems never become solved.
Even so she often covers her stress with humor, making jokes about herself or the impact on life itself she doesn’t allow herself to be in a dull moment. Perhaps it’s because of the lustful edges she sometimes has towards people. But just because they are there doesn’t mean she always acts apon them, still possibly being the only person yet to still have her first kiss.

History:
Jamie is the daughter of Lily and Gabriel Redstack, who lived in the ‘upper’ areas of Harwood. In a two bedroom home however, Jamie had her own little palace at the end of their garden. Containing a small kitchen a luxurious bathroom and a large bedroom it was a small home for a humble girl. Even though her family had these riches she never took it for granted and often did work for animal charities and others as well.
Even so is any life perfect? Loosing her grandmother who also lived with her mother and father was a tragic loss in her life. With her grandmother telling her plenty of stories of magic and fireflies that were really farriers in the woods, she was a queen to Jamie and always would be. After the funeral Jamie started at the private school that her parents had always wanted her to attend and with that her life of high grades and a good future started.
One nigh however Jamie and her family could never had expected the change that was about to happen. With a spark of an argument about her career choices Jamie ran from her parents into the darker woods of Harwood. She didn’t know however she had been followed, watched and tracked for over a month someone had the opportunity to do what they’d been waiting for. Crying in the woods she never expected to feel the freezing waters of the river before suddenly waking up in her bed. Little to her own knowledge she’d been drowned and her even her mind won’t allow her to recall the event, recall being dead and recall who her killer was.
Extra: Owns a parakeet names Chip.

Alastair MacLianain

role
The Witch

age
18

gender
male

sexuality
demisexual

birthday
November 23rd

distinguishing features
Alastair views himself as pretty unremarkable looking. He stands at 5'9" when he isn't slouching, is gangly, and sports a mess of curly, dark brown hair. His eyes are also brown and he has a faint trail of freckles across his nose and cheekbones. His skin is relatively fair with a slight brown tint. He tends to wears loose but warm clothing, like sweaters.

likes
plants, quiet places, daydreaming, exploring

dislikes
loud noises, bad weather, mosquitos, liars

virtues
reliable, compassionate, diligent

vices
impatient, inattentive, melancholic

quirks/hobbies
chews on pens, hums when he's thinking, likes to collect interesting looking rocks, often seems like he's half asleep

fears
being powerless, being alone, having nightmares

personality
Sleep comes infrequently to Alastair, and this shows in his overall personality. He often seems daydreamy or unfocused, which has gotten him into plenty of trouble at school for not paying attention. Despite this, Alastair can still focus when he needs to and keeps his grades high due to his diligent nature. He is usually a friendly, compassionate, and open person that gets along well with most people, though he has his moments where he can be withdrawn and somber. Moods like that are generally brought on by rainy days and too much time spent away from other people. More than anything, Alastair detests being alone.

history
Alastair was born the youngest of three children to his parents, Ellis and Ciara MacLianain. Even as a young child, Alastair always felt a bit out of place, which was made worse by the large age gap between himself and his sisters, Maisie and Olivia, who are 25 and 27, respectively. The magic that ran through his family line was a bit different in Alastair, often unpredictable and sometimes terrifyingly strong. Unlike the rest of his family, who had a great deal of control over when and where their foretelling abilities were used, Alastair's always forced their way through in dreams. And in nightmares. The visions he sees in his dreams come through in flashes but are so crystal clear and detailed that Alastair can not only describe sights and sounds, but tastes, smells, and feelings as well. What makes for incredibly vivid dreams also makes for nightmares that are horrifying beyond comparison.

Unlike the rest of his family, Alastair has never been the nomadic sort. His sisters have moved beyond small-town Harwood to larger cities, and his parents have taken to travelling in their retirement, often using their foretelling abilities for activism related work. But Alastair likes to stay put. The nightmares always get worse outside of Harwood, so why would he move anywhere else? The town, though small, has always had a strong magical feeling to it, and he's reluctant to go beyond the town's borders.

While Alastair's parents are away, he attends Harwood's public high school and lives with his grandma, Aoife MacLianain. Recently, Alastair had a nightmare that shook him to his core. It was his first vision of the future ever to take place in Harwood. It came in hazy flashes, but he knew one thing for certain: at least three people would be dead by the time it came to pass, with himself being a possible forth. And to make matters worse? Alastair hasn't had a single dream or nightmare since this happened. Everything is just static.

other
Alastair keeps journals describing every vision he's ever had from the time he learned to write onward.

The Ruler

  • Role: The Ruler
    Name: Charmaine Maxwell
    Nickname(s): Max
    Age: 18
    Gender: Female
    Sexuality: Bisexual
    Birthday: 21 December

Charmaine Maxwell

Appearance
The most expressive thing about Charmaine are her blue grey eyes, bright and clear. She has long dark blonde hair that tumbles just past her shoulder blades, lighter towards the ends and often tied up to get it out of the way. Her skin is a little tanned and she stands at around 5'7" with lean muscles from years spent outside and doing any number of athletics. It isn't odd to see her with a plaster taped somewhere on her hands and arms and you can see small nicks and scars from past adventures if you look close enough.
Personality
Charmaine is the sort to just do her own thing, regardless of what's going on around her and what anyone else thinks. A very hands on kind of girl, shes's never one to sit back and let others do the work and even going so far as to help out with just about any sort of physical activity just to have something to do. This tendency combined with her friendliness has made her more than a few friends. She doesn't like to stay still for too long and is often out and about following ley-lines for fun at all hours and in all kinds of weather -usually alone, but she hardly ever begrudges someone's company- so it isn't a surprise to those who know her to see her popping up in the strangest of places. For all that, she's more easily upset than you would think though she's more likely to be sad than angry.
History
Charmaine lives with her mother and her sort of step-dad not really, her parents having divorced when she was younger though they are still on good terms. She lived in Harwood when her parents were still together, moved away after the divorce, and then moved back just in time for high school to start, a few years ago. Summers and some holidays are spent with her dad, wherever in the world he happens to be at the time. Her room is plastered with photographs her dad sent her and the rest of the house has some of his best work framed and hanging in every room.
The thing that prevented Charmaine from sulking too much when her mother told her they were moving back was the fact that Harwood's ley-line was the strongest she'd ever seen. She had always wondered about that, the lines she saw in general -though she only spoke of it when she was younger to her parents and stopped when she grew older, realising that no one else could see them. They still tease her about it occasionally, her dad more than her mother -jokingly letting her lead the way when they go on one of their walks and good naturedly going along with her seemingly random 'quests' of moving things around.
The two adults living in the house have the most erratic of schedules -it's rare if any of the three of them are in at the same time for longer than a couple of hours- but she doesn't really mind, used to the ultimate freedom and independence by this point. Besides, she has a housekeeper that's more like family at this point to help with cleaning and cooking and to complain with after a long day. She has a habit of looking after strays, feeding the cats in the alley a couple streets over, nursing injured birds back to health etc. They always seem to like her anyway. She attends the private high school and doesn't spend much time at home, often playing basketball or some other thing after school.
Extra: At the moment she's looking after her neighbour's dog, a large golden retriever coincidentally named Max.
