Pumpkin Patch
Springfield. A beautiful, sprawling city, full of varied lifestyles. Everything from the crowded city life to the flatlands for farming, as far as the eye could see. Society was equally beautiful. Or, at least, on the surface.
The hero society worked relentlessly to keep up it's image. Only those that looked the part, had the right personality and powers, were allowed to join. Despite appearances, those with powers that did not fit their elitest standards were looked down upon, by heroes and the rest of society. Heroes bullied, threatened, and even beat those that didn't fit in.
There is a group that resisted them though. They didn't have a name, they weren't so self-centered. They had a loose leadership structure. Their leaders were often the ones on the front lines, doing what needed to be done for the group.
The resistance consisted of a wide variety of people. From regular and powered people who were downtrodden, beaten down by society, those those that were simply rejected, to those that had everything and could fit in easily, but saw the injustice and joined to help.
Cameron, Leslie, Fran and Scry were four such leaders. They were out on a mission with a few other members. Leslie had already directed the others to keep and eye out and scout the area so they can stay informed, and nearby if they were needed.
Leslie spoke to the three other leaders. He had a booming voice, one that commanded respect. He never wanted to be a leader, but his personality naturally lead him down that path. His voice lowered, "We're going to try for stealth, but expect a fight. Me and Cameron will take point. Scry is here to help us identify the gear, Fran, you'll protect her. Cam and myself will take point." Leslie looked around with a questioning gaze, checking to see if everyone understood the plan. Fran simply returned a warm smile, her hair in a wad around her feet.
