Very reluctant to get involved in the battle against Valerian. Really he sees the downsides that could happen win or lose
Timid when it comes to humans. They obviously have a thing against non humans. And given what dragons seem to be known for he tends to only talk with other half humans.
Follows orders without question his mentor gave him the idea that it's only best to ask questions when needed. Such as tasks he doesn't understand.

Before Amnesia to be revealed.

Cross was raised by Beatrice till the age of 14 where he got into an accident involving him falling off of a tall cliff when he was being chased by some mercenaries who wanted to put him up for sell on the slave trade. His mother believed him to be dead and he was saved by a blacksmith who was in the area gathering materials. Cross was rushed to a healer where it was revealed he had no memory of what happened. The blacksmith decided to take Cross in as a son naming him Emile. Now Cross is the apprentice of a blacksmith learning to make all forms of weapons. At times even being a delivery boy for customers from the other areas Along with being the ore collector. Cross wants to join the battle against Valerian but he honestly is torn on the subject knowing full well that his adoptive father could be executed for harboring a traitor. So for now he plays the civilian in the matter only being willing to join should something happen to his mentor and father figure.

It was a miracle he even survived. But he had no memory of who he was. Now he works as the blacksmiths apprentice. (Rest of Backstory is to be revealed)

Organizations\Affiliations: The Knights of the Grove, an old company of knights sworn to protecting the sacred forests. Nowadays, they are few and far between because of a blight spreading across the woods.
Personality: Very efficient in his speech, doesn't like to waste words when he doesn't need to. Since he doesn't usually have company, he is unaccustomed to speech and comes of as extremely awkward when engaged in long conversations. Has a deep devotion to the forest and will give his life if it means its preservation.
Backstory: Fayron was born as the child of a wicked company of knightesses, who served an even more wicked being, who, in turn, served a corrupt king. The wicked being defected from the king and eventually the knightesses disbanded. Raised as wicked as they were, Fayron travelled the lands terrorizing innocent villages with the ancient powers he was given. One day, a stray arrow struck his stomach and he fell into a bog. Instead of dying, a knight covered in roses approached him and nursed him back to health. Once Fayron was shown the beauty of the forests and the tranquility it offered he repented and gave up his old ways, swearing himself a defender of the woods. Under the old knights guidance, he trained to be quick, deadly, and silent as a leaf. Once the time had come, the old green knight imbibed Fayron with the power of the forest, transforming him into a Guardian of the Woods as well. To this day, he has served sentinel of the forest. However, blight and war has been terrorizing distant woods. It is his duty to protect all that is natural and holy in mother natures eye.

PHYSICAL
Appearance
: Fayrons skin is a bright green material, resembling that of a young plant. His entire body is covered in leafy texture, giving him excellent camoflauge. Above this on his chest and legs are thick strands of wooden bark, providing some protection. On his leafy head, only bright eyes are visible, as the rest is covered with brilliant pink and white flowers. His shoulders as well are covered in these flowers which hide sharp spikes which he uses as weapons.
Weapons & Armor: Fayrons primary weapon is a long thorn-like rapier with a shield attached to the side. The weapon not only serves as a rapier to pierce through steel, but also as a dispenser of a deadly toxin that kills within seconds. Fayron also uses the spines that grow on his back and shoulders as throwing daggers. Upon impact, these spines release small dosages of paralyzing poison. With enough contact, even a large beast can be rendered defenseless and vulnerable to a lethal blow from his rapier.
Items & Personal Belongings: An ancient pendant, depicting an illustration of his mother in full plate armor. It is emblazoned with the insignia of the Old corrupt king.
Skills & Abilities: Extremely athletic, can effortlessly swing and dive across the vines of the forest. Can also dodge projectiles with proper timing. Also, adept at camoflauge, especially since his body is literally a part of the scenery.
Spells & Magic: Has control over the immediate surrounding flora. In his home, the sacred grove, this power is multiplied immensely.
-Vine trap. Fayron manipulates surrounding roots and vines to form a snare. Once it senses something walking over it, the snared tighten into a bone crushing grip until Fayron can deliver the final blow.
-Club of wood. Fayron can command the trees to swing themselves as weapons, causing strikes fatal to the ordinary man
-Vine Whip. The vines and leaves on Fayrons body compress to form a whip with a painful lash. Although not poisonous, its main purpose is to keep enemies away while also crippling them
-Golems of the Forest. Although Fayron is one of the last Forest Guardians, he can summon temporary allies from the trees themselves. Plants uproot themselves and attack trespassers in a humanoid form.
-Force of Nature. Fayron channels the hidden rage of the forest. Every plant, tree, and any type of flora lends its strength towards a deafening roar followed by a blinding blast of pure light. The sunlight generated by this effect is the most unrefined and raw form of holy energy.

Personality: Maja is a handful in every sense of the word. Horribly jagged around the edges and with a heart of gold, she's mostly unpredictable and appearing to be not completely on one side or the other. Maja can be described as enticing, friendly, infuriating, obnoxious, clever, vulgar and peculiar all in the same encounter. She fills a role you didn't know needed filling until she arrives; the smartass, licentious, jack that seems more concerned with getting under your skin and having a good time than whatever the objective is. When it comes to her money talks, though the fact she already has more than she knows what to do with leaves little indicator to what it says to her. The best and only way to get through to her is through sheer force, otherwise she'll use every opportunity to take advantage of you. She will not put up with downers and will actively try to change or push them out of the group. If left totally alone Maja falls into a trance like silence looking off into nothing or fidgeting with whatever is nearby.
Backstory: Born a long time ago to the Huldra and Huldreskall people, a sort of succubus and incubus of the forest type deal. She lived out the first 28 years of her life relatively normally, or as normal as the situation allowed. It wasn't until then that she found herself captured and sold by a magical being hunting party to a particularly vile noble family looking for an exotic pet servant. The group enslaved the ones they saw fit to and slaughtered the rest, leaving her home void and destroyed. She arrived broken and without will to the estate of her now owners. For another 50 years she endured unspeakable torture, shames and evil at and by their hand until they eventually tired of her and sold her off to a slaving organization. While being transported the caravan carrying her was raided and she managed to escape into the forest. She was completely lost and on the verge of giving in when she met a lone ranger, tracking a bounty. She didn't have to try hard to convince to let her come along. In exchange for her assistance natural affinity to woodlands she bartered a safe passage to the capital, where at the time, she would be relatively safe. This passage turned into a partnership and apprenticeship as the human ranger and bounty hunter took Maja under his wing. Slowly but surely she began to gain a skill set of her own and together they reigned as one of the most successful sellsword duos of their time. During their escapades, she found in the ranger what she'd lost in when her family was killed and sold and what she'd lived without for so long. What that was she was never totally sure. Eventually, the human ranger's mortality caught up with him and he retired, she with him. Though not officially an item and her natural disposition not really leaving her inclined to monotony, she stayed with him very much like a couple until the fateful day of his passing. She was, naturally, completely unequipped for another loss like this and fell on hard times. To cope, she adopted a caricature personality and made it a personal mission to always keep distracted, always keep the mood light and always feel good, no matter the cost. Over the years, the line between her true feelings of bereavement and her boisterous outward personality muddied and the two merged becoming the persona she sports today. By now she's a well versed and talented in her sellsword trade, has learned to completely hide any shred of weakness and as aberrant as ever. However given the current state of the kingdom, she uses a basic illusion spell to hide her true nature and keeps her huldric tendencies to where they're just mistaken flirtatiousness.

Cefrey is very playful in nature. Usually poking fun at her allies and cracking jokes
She hardly ever takes anything seriously. Even being surrounded by enemies would be seen as a minor annoyance.
She loves to showboat and make everything look like a show, though that's what happens when you're a bard.

Cefrey was trained in Bard magic by a group of Elven Bards since a little kid. Her parents were both dead so she called her mentors family. However when Valerian came into the powers Cefreys group left leaving her behind. At the time she shrugged it off as just them being paranoid. For a small amount of time Cefrey was a Bard for Valerian. But when the king became genocidal she was quick to leave realizing her family may have had the right idea. From then on she was a travelling entertainer making a name for herself. One for music and being adored by her crowds, And the other for helping parties of adventurers take down any foe with her magic. And a single incident where a Bugbear openly killed itself thanks to one of her spells.

Cefery is about average height for a human. Her skin is very Pale due to her northern lineage. Her eyes are steel grey. Her clothing is a mix of Leather armor and robes. The clothing itself is dark blue in coloration. Her hair is black and mid length only allowing it to reach her shoulders. It is straight at the top but it gets more wavy as it reaches her shoulders.

Thunderwave: An AOE spell that hits anything within 15 ft of cefrey. However it is not a quiet spell usually followed by a deafening boom.

, Vicious Mockery: Cefrey's signature trick. She throws some sort of insult at her target. However the insults are not usually that bad. The part that makes it dangerous are the fact her words are enchanted to give the enemy the feeling that the insult was far worse. At worst the target could outright kill themselves

So more often then not she is very dependent on any fighters to keep the enemies off her. Her lack of taking anything seriously has made her somewhat untrustworthy in serious situations. Most of her spells outside of Healing word and Vicious Mockery are AOE so she usually requires space to cast them without hurting her allies

Wait, so he can go all out when there's no blood spilled? Damn, add that to the fact that he's a Paladin and even has an Angel mode, I think Aurelius may die here if he fails. Well, he'll still cone hack since his phylactery is with the king, but still. Nice character by the way.

Personality: Bayne is a man's man, he will fight a creature twice as big as he was with his fists only if he was dared to. He does not like being called chicken, which does get him into predicaments that ends in different arrays of possibilities. He's not very gentle, even with allies. So some play fighting or sparring may end up with a few cuts here and there or a black eye or two. He likes to show off, especially when females are nearby and watching. Hence, why he does not wear a lot of armor but the real reason why will be explained. And if he does find a lady for the night, well, dont expect him anytime soon.
Backstory: Not a lot of known about Bayne or his sister, all that is really known is their odd armor choice. From the lack of to the design of it, the armor is not really traditional. He never attended school, so he doesnt know a lot of things that school would teach.

Spells & Magic: Doesnt know it, but he can enhance his near unbreakable skin to be basically unbreakable. This is when either his rage boils over or whenever a big battle starts and his brain kind of instantly recognizes the fight as dire and does the enchantment.
Weaknesses: He is not very smart at all, easy to tempt/seduce, easy to taunt into a fight, hotheaded, headstrong

Personality: Vayne is kinda like her brother in the sense she likes to show off for the guys, she likes to drink a lot, and is easily tempted into either a fight or a bed. Most likely a fight. She doesnt really like a lot of other females, like any other woman that likes to be the one who is noticed the most. She loves the heat of battle, and is usually the first to dive in head first if her brother didnt beat her to it. Unlike her brother, her speech isnt refined enough and some of her words come out a little funky when she speaks.
Backstory: Well she really followed in her brother's footsteps, so her backstory is basically the same. Well besides she had a fit when she wasnt allowed in the same training as the guys, so Bayne taught her anything he was taught and she picked up her own moves along the way.

Personality: Watanabe is chivalrous, courageous, and kind. He is also quite humble and takes great pains to avoid the accolades of being a hero. In truth, he is a shy guy with a heart of gold, and a hopeless quest to redeem his forsaken sibling, whether his efforts are appreciated or not. He is also very bored nowadays as he is unable to meet a challenging foe.
Backstory: Doman and Watanabe were brothers from the Tachibana clan, who were trained by the old, bearded monk, Gyatso. They learned the Way of the Warrior and to control their own chi. Watanabe found his talent in the Samurai’s Path, and Doman found his talent in the Ninja Way. Unfortunately, Doman was overtaken by ambition and slew Gyatso, in cold blood. Watanabe was forced to battle his older brother and banish him. Fleeing his homeland, Doman has settled in Rivannia beneath Valerian’s flag. Now, he is a master of the Way of The Sword and he has set himself on a quest to find someone that can be a challenge to him.

  • Tsubame Gaeshi - It's the name of his extremely sharp katana, which is also as light as a feather. It is made out of Hihi'irokane, which is an eastern metal. It is ultra-hard, extra-sharp and a good conductor of chi and heat.

  • A pouch full of gold. He apparently has a never-ending source, inherited from his clan's treasury and taken from the many, many duels he completed.

  • The Way Of The Sword - His skill with the sword is unrivaled. Nobody was ever able to defeat him in a duel.
  • The Way of The Spider - Watanabe is a wonderous free runner, being able to evade enemies if the situation requests it with ease.

    • The Principle of Motion - By using his Chi, Watanabe amplifies his movements in all ways (i.e. becoming faster, stronger etc as long as there's chi to use).
    • Eightfold Yang Mantle - Like the initial Yang Mantle, only that the Yang energy manifests as a roiling crimson aura of Yang energy that can be shaped according to the user's wishes
    • Eightfold Yang Barrier -Watanabe shapes Yang energy into an energy field that softens or blocks hits
      • Yang Shield -Watanabe forms his yang into a glowing aura around his body that protects him from all sorts of harm.
    • Animal Form Dragon Dance - By adapting animalistic forms into his Dragon Dance, Watanabe's attacks become more ferocious
    • Yang Phoenix - Watanabe can summon a flaming phoenix made out of Yang Energy to be his ears, eyes, and mouth. It can also fight, using all sorts of fire magic.
    • Dragonblade - By using a big part of his chi, his blade and body will be infused with the Dragon's energy. This allows Watanabe to move at supernatural speeds and hit at supernatural strength. In this state, however, he is more vulnerable to magic attacks.
Weaknesses:
  • Watanabe relies heavily on his katana, having little to no armor. Magic attacks that cannot be deflected with a blade will easily hit him.
  • His armor is not very heavy, thus it doesn't protect him much against physical attacks that rely on brute force rather than skill with the sword.

Personality: Ashiya follows a strict code that protects his self-interest whilst being a minimal representation of honor and good will to those around him. "Obtain power at nearly all costs, but do not harm bystanders when not required. Be good when possible, and be honorable when the opponent deserves it. Be resolute in one's decision, for you tread the path of a noble demon" or as he calls it 'The Song of a Thousand Shadows,' is a dharma attuned to the Yin aspect of the inner chi, representing negativity and darkness, as well as self-improvement and self-enlightenment, often at the partial cost of others.

Ashiya is ready to kill and sacrifice other people for his own interest unless they are not large obstacles in his way to power. Despite that, he sometimes wastes time on frivolous things like sentimentalism and good deeds, as he respects the natural world and finds himself weirdly attracted to it. He keeps quiet most of the time, but sometimes he just finds it too good not to throw in a witty one-liner, or another snarky response at his opponent. He has abandoned most of his humanity, but there is still a man somewhere in there, that still has emotions, wishes, and motivations of his own.

He also can't refuse a good fight, unless he is completely sure he's going to lose. He spares such worthy opponents, not because of honor, but because fighting someone of equal strength provides him with far too much adrenaline. He also has great respect for art and would never be capable of bringing himself to hurt a musician, or artist. He is more merciful and less stern when interacting with children, widows, or elderly people - maintaining some small values of honor prior to his half-unlife.

Weapons & Armor:
  • Katana "Kuzunoha": A curved, light sword he still has back from his days as a samurai like his brother. Much better for direct confrontation than a Ninjato. It's ebon reinforcement lets it resist clashing with normal swords without breaking.
  • Ninjato: Also known as a Ninja Sword, it is a sword similar to a katana, but less bent than its predecessor and much shorter. The Ninjato's sheath has a rope that can be used for several things, such as using the sheath as a step to use when climbing flat walls, then elevating it via the rope, or even use it as a tripwire to cause enemies to trip.
  • Shuriken: Small, star-shaped throwing weapons that can be used for ranged combat. He has several variants for several different purposes.
    • Folding cross-shaped: The most orthodox type. As corners of this Shuriken are sharp and deep, it can inflict a deep wound on targets.
    • Swastika-shaped Shuriken: This shuriken is for inflicting big damage on enemies. The angles of this weapon are double‐edged which allows for deep, dangerous cuts.
    • Eight-pointed Shuriken: Easy to stick to targets. The aim of these is to hurt enemies, rather than kill.
    • Stick-type Shuriken: Instead of being star-shaped, they are simply throwable, metallic stakes. Can be hit into walls to create a pathway for climbing, but are not that useful against targets, as they are heavier and a little duller. They can be useful against heavy armor.
    • Higuruma-Ken: A wooden shuriken with a fuse, full of oil that can be set off to explode with fire.
    • Smoke Bomb: A wooden shuriken with a fuse that explodes with smoke that easily obsucres sight.
    • Flash Bomb: A wooden shuriken with a fuse that explodes with a bang and a stunning, loud sound.
  • Kunai: Kunai are tools and weapons of diverse use, from throwing, to stabbing, to cutting, to being used to climb walls or having ropes tied to them to be used as grappling hooks.
  • Manriki-Gusari: An easily concealed weapon, made up of two small slabs of iron connected by an iron chain. It can be used for choking, or like a flail; with the metallic slabs being used as a source of force.
  • Other Weapons... As a servant of the King, he can ask for new weaponry to be manufactured for him when required.

  • Mask of Shinkiro: This artifact allows whoever bears it to turn into a Shinkiro, a being that is a half-wraith, half-mortal; a true abnormality that is half-alive and half-dead. A pseudo-demon; a mirage that consumes the souls and chi of others to sustain itself. To activate its properties, a blood sacrifice must be made. It allows him to change form
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ninjutsu: Skills associated with the schools of Ninjutsu learned to adept level. He is also extremely agile, being much better at avoiding attacks than taking them.
Spells & Magic:
  • Shinkiro Magic
    • Consume: Allows Ashiya to consume a variety of energies; magical energy, chi, even pieces of someone's soul. Consuming each brings different effects, from sustaining him, giving temporary power boosts, or even letting him learn some of an enemy's powers.
    • Spiritual Form: Allows Ashiya to take on the form of a literal ghost. Within it, he can pass through walls, appears invisible, and can even fly and move at accelerated rates, however, using this he cannot hurt anyone, and he can still be hurt and detected by mages. Additionally, using it disables the user from having proper senses and perceptions, forcing them to rely on spiritual sensations of magical energies around them. This is generally not useful, except when resting, or when fleeing.
    • Shapeshifting: Capable of changing shape to any humanoid form, or animal - however, he can be detected by even basic magecraft when in a different form.
  • Yin Prana: Calls upon the darker chi, associated with negativity to cast magical spells.
    • Yin Shield: Ashiya forms his Yin animus into a protective carapace around his body of black color. It is as durable as ebony armor, yet lighter than nothing, as it doesn't have physical weight.
    • Yin Burst: Ashiya can create limited bursts and balls of pure negative chi energy and utilize it to harm others in various ways. He can cause his body to expel it in massive amounts, enhancing his physical capabilities greatly.
      • Spider's Blessing: Ashiya creates black tethers, vines, or webs of Yin energy that allow him for anything from throwing objects, traveling quickly, or trapping enemies.
      • Dash: Displaces Ashiya up to ten meters in any direction. Useful for avoiding attacks.
    • A Thousand Cuts: Delivers over one thousand cuts, thrusts, and stabs within the time boundary of ten seconds, enhancing the acceleration and celerity of his limbs beyond possibility. By running around the target, the attacks are delivered from each direction.
    • Treading the Tide Dragon: Allows Ashiya to traverse liquid surfaces, like water, as if they were solid.
Weaknesses:
  • Weak against holy magic, and Yang-attuned attacks.
  • Getting hit. He's good at dodging... not tanking.
  • Anything accurate enough to hit him, really, will either take him down or injure him beyond the capacity to fight.
  • Still human, mostly, so just stab him.
  • Magic works even when in Spirit Mode.

Personality: Elaina is loyal to a fault to her father. Willing to follow him to the ends of the earth to watch his back. The apple falls far from the tree, as she is very polite, but not too far as she can be very sarcastic during more serious times and easily annoyed by stupidity.
Backstory: She was unplanned to say the least, the result of a one night stand at a hotel. However, she knows nothing about that. The mother, a woman sweet-talked by Ari, reached out to him, who accepted his role as a future father, despite the secret resentment as he had to give up some of the things he wanted to do. While they never dated, they remained close for Elaina's sake. They didn't hate each other. Just bonded over the mutual mistake. This woman was Selena. At most, they had a FwB relationship, but stopped that when Elaina was born

When she was born, Ari was on hard times. Poor and struggling and having to give up his job due to the fact that having a baby would make it too hard, he relied on Selena for a bit to take care of Elaina. Now Ari took down the darker path to get money to raise Elaina and get money he did. He got a small fortune per mission and had Waesmor Manor built from the ground up.

Selena moved in with 4 others who were hired on as trainers.
