The students had just gotten back for the new school year. The amount of new students was slightly less than last year's number. This was slightly worrying, since the school could close down if there weren't enough students. However, as long as there are incompetent magic users in the world, there will always be a need for Valakerra Academy of Magic Abilities. Plus, it's not as if Valakerra was completely useless; the world wasn't fun without danger and that's what Valakerra was infamous for producing.

The school was far too large for the amount of students that attended it. Such a small amount of people chose to go to Valakerra that there was only one class per year group. Occasionally, teachers decided not to show up to school so some of the classes had to be merged. Other times, teachers had to teach classes of only one or two people since students decided not to show up. Unlike other magic academies, it's actually smart not to show up to school because at Valakerra you could only get worse.

Some of the students had started to notice that it was already past starting time and no one had come to try and herd them into the hall, though hardly any of them cared. The reason for the lateness was that academy staff were too busy trying to fire-proof the school so that last year's mistake won't happen again. Sadly, however many safety precautions they took, one student always found a way to destroy the school.

[The roleplay is finally open!]

Marcus walked through the gates of Valakerra. He noted that the school had been fixed up yet again for the start of the new year. Probably to give the impression that this academy isn't dangerous to the new students, he thought. It was already past the school starting time yet but nothing had happened. Sometimes the teachers collected them a bit later because they were lazy but not this late.

After wandering around the school grounds, he decided to sit down somewhere. Avoiding eye contact with people, he made his way towards a bench and sat on it. To other people, he could look scary or even intimidating. "I hope the teachers keep doing whatever they're doing, I don't want to go to clas. Ugh... I don't want to use my ability," he said to himself. Only a few people in the school knew about his ability, and he'd made them swear to never tell anyone. He was often sent to the headmaster's office because of his refusal to use his ability in class.

Val impatiently walked back and forth in the school grounds not wanting to waste another minute out in the heating sun. Usually all Dragonscale's thrived in the sun, but she absolutely despised it and everything that came with it. The sweat the feeling of not being able to breath properly and the fact that you couldn't open your eyes properly without the light shining so bright that you would be forced to close them again.

She also couldn't wait for the school to see her (Not so)awesome powers, although not many people knew that the Dragonscale's had a incompetent teen girl in their family she was sure to make the whole world know one day.

Amy walked onto the grounds, her eyes firmly planted on the ground beneath her. Without any forewarning, the ground disappeared, revealing a deep fiery lava core. Amy took a deep breath and kept walking, trying hard not to look up even though the impulse was killing her. She walked until the ground beneath her turned into a more manmade material, and only then did she glance up for just a moment, to see where she was.

She was standing in an area with benches, with the school right in her view. She looked at it, and forgot. For just a moment. But reality knocked itself into her when the school's walls disappeared, and she could see a numerous amount of adults that she assumed were the teachers putting up all sorts of protections and things of that sort. Okay, weird, Amy thought, then quickly looked down before anything else became see-through. Walking again, she thought about school and classes.. then walked straight into a tree.

Iggy stood in front of the gates of the academy having just lit a ciggarette

" I wonder what they have to eat..."he muses as he steps through the gates his bag slung over his shoulder

Marcus was just about to go to sleep before something caught his eye. A nearby girl had just walked into a tree. No wonder she ran into something, he thought, she doesn't look like she's paying attention to anything at all. A sigh formed on his lips as he pushed himself up off the bench. If he didn't help people or check up on them when they were hurt his ability would forcefully transform him. "The magical girl inside of me is urging me to help people," he said sarcastically to himself. Then Marcus stood up and walked towards the white-haired girl.

When he arrived next to her, he was slightly awkward. It wasn't as if he could just say, 'Excuse me, if I don't help you I will turn into a magical girl.' He pointed at the tree and her head,
"Are you alright?"

Fygmor limps his way to the gate front door, holding his stick, smiling that finally got into an academy. As he attempts to enter the building he accidently hits the door and takes a few steps back, but eventually gets in.

Amy felt her face reddening. She wanted to look up, to see who was speaking to her, but... She sighed, then looked up at the speaker's face, making sure to look only there, just in case.

"Um.." she said, then took a deep breath. "I-I'm fine.." she said, flinching when she stuttered over a word. Great job, Amy. Make him think you're weird. Well, weird-ER.

@Lefic

Marcus stared at her. What's wrong with her? He looked relieved when she said she was fine, although not because of her but because it meant the there was no danger of him transforming. However, he picked up her nervousness. He pointed a steady finger at her and said "I'm not that scary, am I?" He knew nothing about the strange girl's ability and just assumed that her strange behaviour was because of his presence.

@thebrokendoll

Amy shook her head quickly, but then, just when she thought that maybe she'd have a chance, things hit the fan. She saw straight through him. Well, his outer layer, anyway. She saw straight through to his skeleton. Letting out a shriek, she backed away as fast as she could, but stumbled and fell onto the ground. She squeezed her eyes shut tightly, trying hard to keep as much control as possible. I.. I shouldn't be like this! I should have.. have control!

@Lefic

Marcus' eyes widened. "Geez. I know I'm scary but that's just rude," he half-joked. He could tell at this point that something was really scaring her, or she was just really crazy. Marcus prodded Amy with his foot. This might've been seen as rude but he didn't care. Instead of trying to help her up, he just knelt next to where was on the ground. "Seriously, you're a danger to yourself. How many times are you going to mess up in one day?" he said to her moodily. "I can't even be near you for ten minutes without my power trying to activate itself," he purposely left out the information about what his power was.

@thebrokendoll

Amy opened one eye, testing the waters. Thankfully, she did not see through him. Or anything else, for that matter. She stuttered quickly, "I-I'm so s-sorry! It's j-just.. one of my p-powers.. I-I can't control it yet, s-so I s-see through things at r-random." Cringing again at her stuttering, she took a deep breath and continued, managing to speak without the stutter. "I... one of my powers is the ability to see through anything. And I can't control when it happens, so I.. well, I see lots of stuff I really don't have a desire to see. And, um.. that's why I always stare at the ground," she spoke quickly, as if afraid he might stop her.

@Lefic

Marcus nodded while the girl explained. When she finished speaking, Marcus' hands went to cover his own body. Well, atleast this girl isn't actually crazy, he thought. "Huh. You have a good power but can't control it while I have a terrible power that I can kind of control." He thought about it for a while, "Hmm. I'd swap my magic ability for yours any day," the way he said it made it sound quite pervy, to make it worse he was smirking. This was the first person that Marcus had spoken to for a long time so he decided to stick around for now. "Hey, if you've seen me naked shouldn't you at least tell me your name? Mine's Marcus," he teased.

Harrison Hawko

Harrison awoke in the tree he had fell asleep in the night before. The tree was just off grounds to the school he'd be attending for the first time. He dressed himself in a green tee, blue ripped jeans, red sneakers and a brown jacket. He climbed to the highest point of the tree and jumped off, flapping his wings, taking a short flight to his new school. Yes, he was homeless but he was made homeless by his adopted family when they thought he wasn't a child anymore and would soon be their enemy.

He glided down to the ground and landed before walking the rest of the way into the school. He bit the inside of his mouth. He was very self conscious about his wings and he worried about what people would say. Some people had telepathy, elemental powers, or they could transform into an animal. But Harrison? He had a part of an animal and without his wings he couldn't control air molecules and he would be a normal human.

He shivered. He had to stop thinking like this. After all, this would be a new beginning. Time to focus on the positives. Friends, learning, other magical beings. This would be good. He just had to keep telling himself that.

Amy's face was now burning red, and she sighed apologetically. "Uhm... nice to meet you, Marcus," she managed to say without the stammer. "My name's Amy... and, um.. nevermind," she said, before remembering. She quickly fixed her eyes to the ground, and didn't lift them again. She was pretty relieved that Marcus had taken the time to listen to her explanation; most people just gave her dirty looks and didn't let her try to explain herself. Some had even called her a dirty pervert because she had seen them naked, despite her apologies and explanations.

@Lefic

He had already noticed that Amy was blushing fiercely and he found it quite funny. He was starting to relax around this girl. "Hey, you. Don't just finish a sentence with 'nevermind', what were you going to say?" he asked bossily. The dark-haired boy saw that Amy was looking down at the ground. He stared at her, thinking that she wouldn't notice. Why is her power so unstable? he thought, she needs to learn to try and control it or that's going to be really inconvenient for her. Then an idea came to his head, "Hey. How do you know the difference between your see-through abilities working or if someone's actually just naked?"

@thebrokendoll

Amy shook her head, and ignored Marcus' demand to hear the rest of her sentence. She listened closely to what he said afterwards, and then responded, "W-well.. I never r-really try to c-check.. I usually j-just apologize or r-run away." She studied the ground for a moment, then saw through it again. This time, she just saw though some of it, revealing a silver locket, crusted with dirt, buried about 7ft deep. She murmured to herself, "...pretty..."

@Lefic

"Hmm. Interesting," he said. He heard her say something to herself. Marcus looked towards the ground and at her again, "Huh? What're you looking at- Oh, I get it. Your power again? What do you see?" He was wondering if whatever Amy was looking at was valuable. "How far down is it? I can try to get it," he asked. He was already curious and impatient to see what it was. He raked his fingers through his hair to try and move it out of his eyes a bit.

@thebrokendoll

Amy glanced up at Marcus, and said, "It's a silver locket. It's kinda weird, but it looks a lot like one my mom used to wear, before..." she stopped, and sighed. "In any case, it's about 7ft down. I don't think you can get it.."

@Lefic

Marcus sighed and scratched his head. He could tell that she wanted the locket, "Fine. I can get it out. Just promise me you'll do more of that looking down thing you do until I say you can look up." He slightly pushed her to move her out of the way of the locket. Marcus glanced nervously to his sides, trying to see if anyone was close enough to see him. When he thought that nobody was looking, he focused on what he was trying to do. Suddenly, he started pirouetting on the spot. His clothes glowed rainbow colours as they reformed into a pink magical dress, then a wand appeared in his hand and his hair was drawn up into two bunches at the side. He tugged on his skirt, as if it would make him seem any manlier. He didn't bother trying to fiddle with the hair ties to try and get them out, he only had limited time before someone might see him like this. He couldn't use a spell just yet; right now he was just transformed, he had to say a few words for his spells to be unlocked. "By the love coursing through my veins and the justice that lies deep in my heart, I, Marcus Black, will punish you," he mumbled quickly, he wasn't exactly punishing anybody but it wasn't him who made the rules on how his ability worked. He gripped his magical wand and pointed it towards the ground, "Star blaster!" he shouted and something that looked like a shooting star came out of his wand and left a 7ft trench in the ground. He jumped in and picked up the necklace which was, miraculously, unscathed. He clambered out of the ditch and handed the necklace to Amy, still in the dress. His head was turned to the side, not facing her. "There. Take it," he said. Marcus was really hoping that her powers were still unstable for now, he'd rather be seen naked than in a dress.

@thebrokendoll

Amy looked at him, said, "Thank you, Marcus.." She chose to ignore his appearance, and smiled at him gratefully. She turned the locket over in her fingers, brushing off the dirt with care. Studying it, her eyes watered slightly as the details made her think of her brother. He liked silver things... it didn't even matter what it was. If it was silver, he was likely to treasure it for all his days. Amy felt her face turn into a frown, but she quickly changed it back to a neutral expression. "Really, thanks for getting it," she said quietly, and smiled, before putting it away in her pocket. "By the way... nevermind," she pulled another 'nevermind' sentence. I really want to tell him that it doesn't matter to me what his power is, and what he's like when he uses it, but... it's not my place. He wouldn't believe me, anyway.

@Lefic

"It's fine. You looked like you wanted it." He shifted uncomfortably, after he used his powers there was always a 5 minute time period before he changed back into his normal clothes. He shoved part of the skirt between his legs so that it would look somewhat like shorts. Marcus hugged himself with his arms, trying to cover as much of his attire as he could. He was ready to jump behind Amy if anyone came before he transformed back into his normal clothes. He raked another nervous hand through his hair again and then realised something was different. His eyes widened and he hurriedly pulled out the hair ties that were holding his bunches in place, managing to rip out a few strands of hair along with them. It was obvious he didn't like what he was wearing. He had an angry pout on his face while his ears and cheeks were tinged pink with shame and you could feel the heat from his face without even touching it. He was still staring ahead, refusing to look directly at the silver-haired girl next to him. He cleared his throat, "Umm. You don't- You can't see what I'm wearing right now, c-can you?" he desperately hoped that she couldn't.

@thebrokendoll

Amy looked at Marcus, and her emotions were torn. Lie. Just say no and save him from humiliation, a part of her said, while the other argued, No! Lying is wrong. Just tell him the truth. Amy squeezed her eyes shut, then opened them. She shook her head and said, "No.." However, if one paid attention close enough, they would see that her skin paled considerably when she said this; that was her tell. ...I shouldn't have lied. But I don't want to embarass him...

@Lefic

For a second, Marcus looked hopeful until he turned and saw her face. He sighed, "Your face is so pale that it's almost the same colour as your hair," he sounded slightly sad. Then he added, "It's fine. I appreciate the thought." If someone was looking closely, they could see that the dress he was wearing was slowly lengthening and changing colour. He looked down and saw that his skirt was now forming into two separate trouser legs. At least my clothes are changing back, he thought, maybe then I won't be so embarrassed.
