User's Pet Thread

Lurking Pun Ninja
I greet thee, fair Owners of pets that range far and wide with shape and size! I come here today to beseech all of thee for your wonderful stories and pictures of the adorable or awesome creatures we rely on to keep our nerves calmed and the tension stretched! Now, as I stop speaking like someone from Shakespeare, I would like to say that this is all in reference and honor of May and its status as National Pet Month! Its the month where we give thanks to the silent, but resilient companions that are there for us when things are tough, the excitable, loud friend that shows us that not everything is horrible, and that affectionate, soft hearted darling that reminds us that people care.

Much like it has been done before, only few select posts will be uploaded onto the next RpN Monthly. However, this thread will be linked throughout so that everyone who gets interested in the thread can come and see all of the wonderful stories and cute/awesome pictures that you choose to place in your post! If you don't have any pictures? Fine! A story or description of your lovable pet will suffice and is certainly encouraged! There are no unacceptable pets, and while I feel there is some controversy over it, I will accept pet rocks with an open hand, or hands depending on the size of the rock your handing me. ^_^

Remember.

Don't do this for me.

Do it for him.

I will never miss an opportunity to post a picture of the love of my life: Rayna (aka: Royal Mile). I bought her in May of last year, but I had met her a year prior to that. When we first met, she was owned by a good friend of mine who purchased her because she was a great horse being sold for an awesome deal at an auction, but we quickly learned why she had been sold so cheap. Terribly mannered, crabby, and annoying, Rayna wanted nothing to do with anyone and sent my friend to the hospital four times before she decided to get rid of her. How I ended up with her, I'm not really sure, but the next thing I knew, I had a new horse. I'd like to say we bonded like in the movies, but we didn't. I bled, cried, and got two concussions from this horse until she finally realized she couldn't get rid of me so easily. She's still a bit of a psycho and she's terrified of chickens, but she's my psycho... so there's that. (:

I have a zoo of animals in my house: parrots, koi fish, cats, and dogs. My favorite are my sweet little kitty brothers but I love to show my other kitty. =3 The brothers are always running around the house late at night; everyone can hear their loud paws running down the hall, tackling each other and playing wrestle. Oddly enough, the shy orange tabby has more fighting power than the white and orange tabby. Their names: Tigger and Timo. Abbey is the large dilute calico in the first picture.

Their Story: The boys were found along a highway. We recently lost a kitten to coyotes and were not sure about if we wanted more cats. My mom heard of these two kittens found along the grass of a highway at our local vet. So, without anyone knowing, except my dad, she brought them home. She came home from the grocery store, telling my sister and I to come out to help her "unload" the groceries. We each got one QFC paper bag. Not knowing what was inside, we ran towards the front door but I happen to open my bag up. I scream, "[sister's name]! There's a kitten in here!" Timo's beautiful green eyes staring up at me in some fear. My sister had Tigger and she accidentally knocked the bag against the front door - poor cat. -.- He might be skiddish of her from that - we joke.

They don't like strangers at all, are very skiddish around nearly anyone but my immediate family, but give so much love despite their tragic start. These kittens are six now, almost seven. I call Timo my therapy when I need wonderful love and snuggles. This cat follows me literally everywhere. I open my door in the morning and he meows and jumps right up on my bed OR he runs into the bathroom with me. Tigger...well, he sometimes runs in too but more often than not, he just...hides (sigh), like all the time. Anyway, they are such lovable little fatties. Adorable with their own personalities, and Tigger still kicks Timo's butt at wrestling (Timo is still the most energetic and social).

HA! Just realized this is the picture with the dead shrew Timo brought to me as a gift. I realized this picture had it laying there on the rug. xD

1000% Cuteness over load!!! <3 ;-;

Named after one of my favorite characters in all of cinema, the baddest girl from Grease, I present to you...

I have a cat named Schrei. For those of you that don't know, that's German for scream. I got her from a neighbor at the time, whose cat has had kittens. My two of my roommates wanted one of the kittens, and I went along, because why not? When they went to get their kittens, there were two others, one that the neighbor wanted to keep, and the other that he still wanted to give a way. The thing was, whenever I picked her up, she meowed so loudly, I thought that I was hurting her! I was reassured that I wasn't, and the neighbor said that she was just like that. I hadn't held a kitten before then since the fourth grade, so I was nervous. When I found out that the neighbor was planning on taking her to the animal shelter if he didn't find an owner for her soon, he would take her to the animal shelter. I didn't want to see that happen, so I took her with me. Now, to be honest, I was more of a dog person at the time, and I didn't know how taking care of a cat was much different, aside from that they use litter boxes. However, she's two years old now, and the sweetest! Jk, she's a cat. That's another joke. She's a little aloof, but shows her love in little ways, like headbutting.<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/11058795_973038749375627_8570685903275943261_n.jpg.769ad5ed101c6463536e78886c147f28.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="50212" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_04/11058795_973038749375627_8570685903275943261_n.jpg.769ad5ed101c6463536e78886c147f28.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

Rocky -- German Shepherd/Hound Mix

(Also known as: Rocky "The Rock" Lobster, Sir Lobster, Rockford P. Lobster,

and somebody get that dog away from the shoes!)

Far off in the land of Boston, MA was where I first met this firecracker. Shortly after my grandmother had passed away, my family was really broken and lost as I live in a wonderfully matriarchal family. It took a lot of convincing, but my three siblings and I managed to talk my father into considering a new pet. My grandfather moved in with us and after realizing just how much we needed a pick-me-up, we spent the next two months searching local shelters for the perfect pet. My mom was diagnosed with Huntington's disease when I was about fourteen and cannot handle large dogs, nor dogs that jump or bark too much but, man, does she love them. I went through every shelter with my dad, crying when he told us we couldn't have any of these dogs because they just wouldn't work. So begrudgingly, I waited and waited until one day my dad called me after work and told me he had found a puppy at a shelter and was bringing him home that day. That's when I met Rocky -- the most rambunctious dog I have ever know, complete with his own special brand of complete doofus. He still, after two years, hasn't learned how to not eat my shoes or that sticking his head through the railing of the stairs will always result in him getting stuck. He spend hours licking my mom's face and only knows the words "cookie" and "outside." All in all, this dork has been everything to me and brought the light back to my family. Also, we bought him a stuffed Bullwinkle toy and a lumberjack hat for Christmas which was the highlight of my life.

Well, here's my contribution.

Meet Amffie, an Amstaff/Labrador mix. Currently, he's just 2-3 months old and looks adorable, but I hope he grows up to resemble his father, which looks like a freakin' beast sent from Hell to torment all sinners! Just how I like them! (<3) (also, my uncle's wolf, Abraham)

Eztjuuc.jpg

Pets?! I got pets! I'll give ya' a list!

Piranha aka Ranha

rahnna%20cute_zpsndldfltq.jpg
She's a chihuahua; a naughty one at that. Playful, spazzy, but still not house trained. Still, we love her.

Lilly

image_zps5rtdothy.jpg
This is our most well behaved dog, who is also a chihuahua. She's more my step-mothers dog than anybody else's, and she doesn't like to receive kisses. She'll lick you half to death, though.

Arthur

image_zpsapg3ljht.jpg
The loudmouth of our group. Barking at every little thing, jumping up onto people, & eating anything he can get into his mouth. However, he's a lover & will give you lots of kisses. Oddly enough, he's scared of shoes & the noise coins make when shaken against each other.

Happy Meal aka Happy

image_zpsiawxgkpx.jpg
My own personal little baby. Temperamental but sweet, he knows how to wolf whistle & get on others nerves. He's not the most tame bird ever, but I love him to the end of the earth & back <3

This is our little pug, Emmett. Well, this is a baby picture of him. He is a little over one year old now (he was born in March 2014). I had wanted a pug for a while, and the timing worked out where we found him from a show breeder who had him as a pet quality pug (one that wouldn't make it in the competitive show ring). So, we jumped and got him! He's the best little puggy, though quite naughty. He is very friendly, and has never met a stranger. He also loves playing with big dogs: at the dog park he is good friends with a Great Dane. :)

My Cat passed away yesterday, May 1st. It stemmed from depression and lack of eating.

I feel like it would be good for me to share his story. (Prepare for Feels)

This was Bandit

flG8bt1.jpg

He was a bit of a cliche.

He liked milk, tuna, catnip

rB4aHvM.jpg

9WDDqYv.jpg

Q2heeVI.jpg

In last late August his older half-brother (Max) passed away.

IyThksA.jpg

They were extremely close.

8NedpY1.jpg

He had a hard time for awhile. Hardly anyone had time to pay attention to him, giving the socialization a lap cat like him needed.

It didn't help when my Grandma's dog moved in. (A dog who already has issues of his own after poor living, and for awhile constant moving.)

Ordinarily the dog (Woofie) is really nice, and he loved cats. While ordinarily Bandit was friendly, and loved dogs. Unforchantly Woofie is blind, and didn't see Bandit when jumping up onto a couch. Bandit took it as an attack and they were at war ever since.

OF1QMQC.jpg

Because of the warring they never could have the extra company that old guys like them needed. Not only were they alone when everyone at the house left for their daily lives, but they also lived in tension.

I moved into my Aunt's house a few days after his brother passed away. (In only three days he stopped eating for a good while, already being a cat that hardly ever ate in the first place.)

When I moved in he glued himself to me.

If I was sitting he was in my lap, and if I wasn't sitting he'd meow at me until I did. Or a lot of the time he would sit on my shoulders.

In only a week of me being there he did much better, eating and becoming healthy and active again. (With only a few spats between him and the dog)

PJ3cBYK.jpg

Well a month ago I moved out of my Aunt's house. I managed to see him almost every weekday, for at the very least an hour at a time. Unforchantly that wasn't enough, he became depressed again, much like when Max passed away. Refusing to eat, and barely drinking.

He became weak, his balance was off, stopped going to the bathroom. He could hardly walk the poor thing.

He finally died yesterday.

I have mixed feeling about it, though I had a feeling that Friday would be the day. So, I was mentally prepared on a level. Though I don't think things have hit me entirely yet. I haven't gone to my Aunt's house since Wednesday. So maybe when I go back I'll feel the full brunt of his absence.

Thank you for reading the whole thing. ^u^

Please go love on your pets now, it'll probably make you feel better.

(I have another story of another cat. One who I think used to live in the house I just moved into. While it seems his owners abandoned him. We don't officially keep him, but we do feed him. If anyone is interested in that.)

Heya everyone! I was planning on doing this alot earlier, but I started to change my mind and whatnot.

----------

Well, here is my puppy, Foxi or Foxy. Honestly I don't know which way it's spelled, we just call her Foxy/Foxi because she looks like a little fox. Some reason she wouldn't sit still for the picture, so I snapped a quick one of her laying in my face.

-------

Foxy/Foxi's Story:

I was out with my stepdad ne day, helping with his work. We went to a house to work on and fix some stuff for a lady. Turns out the woman just moved into her apartment and wasn't allowed to have pets. She didn't want to give up her dog and was bawling her eyes out. Me nor my stepdad liked to see the lady cry, she told us it was either death or the pound. So, we volunteered to adopt her. Now she lives happily with me and my silly family. We all love and take care of our little dog and is very thankful toward the lady who trusted us with her pet's life. (^.^)

I a cat..not pictured. His name is Draco. Sometimes though, I wonder if he's just Malfoy in disguise. My dogs however, are lovable.

This one is Zula. She loves attention and kept photobombing my photos. D: She wouldn't stand still for a good photo either, but I love her anyways. ^^

And this is Sammy! Or Sam. His name is Samwise. :D Yes, he is named after a Samwise Gamgee. I think that's how it's spelled. O.o

Ah! A pet thread! How intriguing...I would be more than honored to certainly post images of my fellow pets!

This is my idiot child, he's such an idiot he gets scared of dead mice if they're bigger than babies. It's really hard to get pictures of him because he's constantly moving around.

Seattle! He's a rhinelander, a show rabbit, and a FINE one at that. Before I officially named him, I was calling him "Stunner."

<p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/image.jpg.8e5c4fd7c1e42fafa383a0794e8913b5.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="55459" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/image.jpg.8e5c4fd7c1e42fafa383a0794e8913b5.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

This is Clockwork. She is also a Rhinelander! In fact, all of my rabbits are. Except the Netherland dwarfs. They aren't Rhinelanders. Anyway, Clockwork is a beautiful momma who loves snacking on rabbit health supplements, sunflower seeds, and mint.

Buckthorn <3 he is the first rhinelander I ever owned and I've had him for about three years now. He's a big baby.

ALSO SOME DOGS

Baby, "my" dog. She is a certain loud Pomeranian prone to having a very ear-piercing bark and making people love her because she's friggin' adorable.

This is my dog and rat that I love so much! I even have a few tarantulas as I believe they are very intelligent creatures just like both the rat and dog.

I found the dog one day when I was walking home from work and I blacked out. When I woke, I realized I have fallen into a ditch but before me was a dog wagging it's tail rapidly. It had no collar but it looked very healthy so I decided to find the owner. The dog led me to this house but no one was home so we waited together for an hour or so. Finally I couldn't wait anymore. Strangely that day I had a pen and pieces of paper from work which is highly unusual. Leaving my number we walked home together. When the own contacted me, I brought back the dog but...the owner said keep him. I was in a tight position but I agreed anyways. I don't regret a thing. :) <p><a href="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/20150604_174835.jpg.4af3d8b7be3b4baa4fae19a0a7564a5d.jpg" class="ipsAttachLink ipsAttachLink_image"><img data-fileid="56966" src="<fileStore.core_Attachment>/monthly_2015_06/20150604_174835.jpg.4af3d8b7be3b4baa4fae19a0a7564a5d.jpg" class="ipsImage ipsImage_thumbnailed" alt=""></a></p>

So my Tank here has probably double in size since this picture. He is a pitbull-boxer-mastif and a huge love bug. He has never hurt anyone or anything and if oou get mad at him, he gets so sad and it is impossibee to stay mad at him.

First off we have Phoenix, my 1 year old Catahoula/GSD Mix, He's....crazy, Super hyper. He LOVES playing with the hose and his kiddy pool, He loves the snow & Loves to mess with our cats!

Next we have Kristophe, my 7-9 year old black cat stray rescue, Whom I thought was a girl for the first 3 years I had him, His favorite hobbies include messing with Athena, And stealing laps even when you don't want him too. He also loves wet food.

Then we have Duchess, the oldest. She hates Kristophe, for some unknown reason, She loves wet food and sleeping
