Often donning stylish fabrics of semi-expensive material, one could mistake him as some kind of Landlord or proper authoritative figure if you just take one look at him. When aboard a ship, such attire is put away and replaced with equally impressive whaling gear, that seems to come only in dark mute shades. Waterproof too, fancy that.
PHYSICAL

Strengths: (3)
  • Upper Body Strength - Natural as well as throughout his years of whaling and occasional fishing, his upper body has grown tough and strong; twice or thrice he threw a harpoon without the help of a harpoon gun. Though it got far, they all missed the target. At his current stage of strength, he'll make one hell of a tug-of-war enemy.
  • Leadership - Most of the time Nathan can seem a bit of a self-conceited jackass, but when in the reins, he will do his best to get the job done as well as make his crew survive the voyage -- doesn't matter HOW they survive, though.
  • Resilience - One of the most notable strengths of Nathaniel, hell, once he pushed his whaling crew to the edge just to hunt one whale that's been evading them for several months. Low on food and water, he forced them on but with constant support and the reminder of wealth and fame.

Weaknesses (3)
  • Hyperfocus - Can also be seen as a strength, yet since 20 years ago, it's almost a liability. An intense form of mental concentration or visualization that focuses consciousness on a subject, topic, or task.
  • Discomfort with returning empty-handed from a whaling trip - Becomes anxious and more aggressive when it comes to interactions, when he comes back to the Harbor with nothing to offer. It lasts for a couple of hours to days, depending on how long the trips take.
  • TMI - Not in the funny or ironic sort of way, he really does put too much detail in what he says or writes. Sometimes it can get a bit...too off-putting.
Skills:
  • Balancing - Rough waves have honed him throughout the years; as being aboard a ship, the ground never seems to stop moving until you hit land. Useful for battle as well as falling off semi-high places, as he usually lands as a cat would.
  • Climbing - Another skill honed and mastered by being aboard a ship; his hands and legs seem to find crevices to latch onto on their own.
Racial Abilities:
Photographic/Eidetic Memory - Ability to recall sounds, images, or objects from one’s memory with extreme accuracy.

PERSONA

Personality: Nathan has a natural charm to him, as well as a surprisingly friendly air. He enjoys the thrill of camaraderie, as it's necessary on whaling trips - but most of the time his friendships are hardly heartfelt. Yet it doesn't stop him from attempting to "make-do" with the people he has.
Once he was a man that just wanted to go on trips to the sea and bring back whatever he had found, almost docile and easy-going. He still has such attributes, except the docile one, and now exhibits the need to be in control of a situation.

HISTORY

Nathaniel had been born in Panama, Central America. His cultural heritage, however, had been from Europe - a single son to his German mother and Italian father.

His father loved to fish and Nathan was taught the art of, hook-line-and-sinker at the age of 8. He too, had found himself attracted to the tranquil art of fishing. His mother had taught him how to cook, which was probably one of the most treasured teachings from her, as it helped him survive through some voyages as he grew older.

Nathan's family hadn't been exactly wealthy enough to provide him a proper education, but he didn't exactly mind, as his parents were knowledgeable enough and home-schooled him instead.

When he was 19, his father and himself arrived at Urchin Harbour, 5 years after the seaside town had been founded. His mother had deceased along the sea voyage.

Overwhelmed by the abundance of fish, Nathan and his father had made a living from fishing -- that was until Nathan had become interested in whaling, as the whale oil reaped more wealth.

At age 24 he got married to a woman named Caroline Provins, a dressmaker in Urchin Harbor, and had become a father the following year to a pretty little girl called Melanie, who had her mother's brunette locks but his intense eyes.

Life had been swell...until one particular voyage when he was 27 years old. A eerily calm yet dark night when they came aboard the whaling ship he was on, and sang a song that brought a quarter of the men to their deaths at the bottom of the sea. Miraculously he survived but he didn't get away unscathed. The songs continued to haunt him, especially at night, as it was the symphony for his own desired funeral.

Years went by, his marriage occasionally shook here and there but often stabilised - sleepless nights and mutterings of unknown beautiful faces perturbed his wife, but she stood by him, especially during the ones that break him the most.

At 32 he became a captain of his own whaling ship, Siren's Demise, and also met his first mate, Gurges Tenebris. Possibly one of the few people in his crew that he considers a true friend.
However, he still hasn't gotten a near-death encounter with another of the sea devils' ever since, but it doesn't stop him from looking for them during whaling trips.

Personality: Kiara is interesting, to say in the least. Being the daughter of the owner of a fishing store, Kiara had always had everything handed to her on a plate. She never had to fight for what she wanted, but always wanted to. She always wanted to be like other kids, but her father always kept her in the store. That lead to her living a very sheltered life, until it happened. After it happened, Kiara had developed into a slightly bolder version of herself, with a bit of a protective air. However, she's still a pushover and can easily be manhandled by others to get what they want.

Singing - Even before transforming into a siren, Kiara had a beautiful voice and isn't afraid to use it to sing.
Dancing - Capable of taking coordinated steps and making the most in a social setting, Kiara is an excellent dancer and prefers that as her pastime.
Fishing - Kiara has the patience to catch fish, despite now possessing siren abilities to do that for her.

Backstory: Kiara was born in Urchin Harbor to a fishing shop owner. However, unlike most kids, Kiara started working in the shop instead of attending school and attempting to get an education. She was taught everything she knows at home, from functioning in a shop to basic reading and writing. And that was when the accident happened. On a fishing trip through stormy waters, Kiara and her father were lured to the sound of the voice of a siren singing in the water. Of course, Kiara was the first to fall in. Before the siren could curse her, drowning set in on the young girl. The siren was incapable of cursing someone who was so close to the death, so the siren stopped halfway. Kiara found herself on the shore a few days later, starving, thirsty, and nearly drowned. However, she had the tail of a siren.

Upon returning home, Kiara discovered that she could change back and forth from a siren to a human every time she sat in the bathtub to take a bath. Initially, the tail got in the way but over time she got used to it. However, she has yet to return to the ocean to show anyone her tail. Right now she is currently taking over for an ill Matthias Brooke as the shopkeeper for the Brooke Fishing Company

Murhata is a killer by trade, and a vicious foe. She is particularly hard to escape from due to her many tentacles, and the fact that her anatomy allows her to cause more damage to her victims than most other sirens is the source of great pride for Murhata. She is cocky enough to believe she can kill any human who dares to come her way, so much so that she seeks out victims simply for the fun of it. She will often go into shallow water, and hunt for small fishing boats, and lonely swimmers. Her unique form allows her to do this with ease. Often times when she kills her victims it's not for any reason other then her own boredom. She has nothing better to do, so she hunts out another human.

Murhata's been a siren for as long as she can remember. She doesn't remember being human, if she ever was at all, and prefers to think she was always a siren, and an odd one at that. She's never once met someone with the same lower half as her, and she'd like to keep it that way. Her merciless killing, and her journeys to the shallows have made her a force to be reckoned with. She's a source of fear for humans and few dare stand in her way. Those that do have a habit of disappearing.

Backstory: He killed his mother like every infant has ever done infants his birth was too much for the woman. His father was a whaler he went out into the sea for long periods of time in search of the mighty beasts. He died leaving his eight year old son to fend for him self and fend for himself he did. The boy scrapped and fought the other urchins for every scrap of food being large at even that age he ate well. His search for food brought many other children death by starvation he has no illusions about that ,but they didn't have to worry long he soon became big enough to engage in whaling. In his work he found a man who played the accordion this man became his second father at twelve. He taught him much how to shoot, how to use a bayonet, how to use a harpoon, how to slaughter a whale but one lesson he learned that he has always treasured was how to play an acordian and sing. He spent his next five years learning to perfect what he was taught becoming a great fighter and musician. The man died of an infected wound which taught him one final lesson nature is uncaring. He has since almost perfected the skills taught to him by the man and grown into a giant amongst men.
Personality:he's stern and serious keeping a professional composure as first mate. He's prone to shouting and punishes men for serious offenses. He as a sailor when in normal situation with nothing wrong is freindly and hard working. His final face is his dryland face he plays his acordian while on dryland acting as a sort of street performer this is mostly to his own pleasure. He also tends to drink if he has enough time to bounce back from a hangover before they take to sea again

Personality: Jonathan likes to put on a serious face as a facade. He doesn't have a particular reason for it, but he noticed that people were less inclined to approach him when he had a non-inviting look on his face, and he preferred to not listen to useless and unnecessary gossips and ramblings from people he barely knew. Once you get to know him however, you'll find out that he's a nice and friendly lad. He enjoys exchanging stories with a drink in hand.
Strengths:
High Alcohol Tolerance - Jonathan can hold large amounts of liquor before he starts to feel nauseous.
Good Sense of Direction - As someone who has sailed the seas for as long as he can remember, he developed a sense of where he should go, with the help of the direction of the wind, dark clouds, the amount of sea life, and other factors.
Strong Intuition - He often feels if something bad is about to happen and because of that, he trusts his gut a lot.​
Weaknesses:
Short-sighted - No matter how terrible it is for a sailor to have poor eyesight, this didn't stop Jonathan from sailing. He just relies on telescopes a little too much to see things at a distance.
Loves Drinking - If he has extra money, he tends to spend it on drinks. And even if he's away from home, he almost always has drinks with him.
Restless - Jonathan can never have a good night's sleep, always waking up after getting a few hours (or sometimes less) of rest. He also tends to pace around because he can't sit still for more than a few minutes.​

Sailing - Working with sails and such had always been Jonathan's forte.
Climbing - Sometimes sails get stuck or get caught on something, and someone has to climb up the mast and get it loose.

Backstory: Jonathan is an orphan. In a basket, he was left outside the doorstep of an orphanage when he was still a child. The caretakers of the orphanage didn't know why his biological parents left him, but nonetheless took him in. But he didn't stay there for long. An old couple decided to adopt him as their own child, and named him Jonathan, after his adopted father's father. They raised him with love and care, and Jonathan was grateful for that.

His adopted mother taught him to be chivalrous and kind to other people, especially women, if he wanted to have a family of his own someday. His adopted father taught him the art of sailing, as well as the most complicated of knots. He would take Jonathan on little trips around the harbor, showing him tips and tricks on sailing. When Jonathan was old enough to sail on his own, his adopted father just sat there and watched as he let loose sails, tightened or loosened knots, and turn the boat around multiple times. To say he was proud of Jonathan was a big understatement.

Since his adopted parents were retired workers, Jonathan used his sailing skills as a way to earn money for them. His father recommended him to an old friend, who was also a fisherman. They went on a fishing trip, and the old fisherman caught a couple more fish than usual, as well as return for dinner with his family. The fisherman recommended Jonathan to his other friends, who also worked at sea, and when they took Jonathan out for a trip, they saw with their own eyes how talented the young man was. "The old geezer must be proud o' yah." one even told him. And soon, he was out for regular sailing trips for whalers and fishermen alike.

When Jonathan's parents passed away when he was 19, he was devastated. The only people who had cared and loved him, gone. He drowned his sorrows with alcohol for days, until a fisherman, his father's old friend, told him that, "Yer parents raised ye better than that, lad. I reckon they're rolling in their graves at the sight o' you drinking yourself to death." That woke him up. He still realized that the old fisherman was right. Although he couldn't quit drinking (getting a couple of drinks now and then), he spent most of his time offshore. His father was a righteous sailor, and he wouldn't want his legacy to die a drunkard.

Then one day, while he was fetching supplies from a store, he quite literally bumped into a woman. It may sound cheesy, but it was love at first sight. At 22 years old, he got married to the love of his life, Elizabeth Dudley [Smith]. He still remembered his mother's lessons about chivalry. He bought her flowers on their anniversary, kissed her before he went to work, and did his best to come home for dinner.

Jonathan was 25 years old when he asked to join a man's crew. He had a beauty of a ship, and bigger than the ones Jonathan usually sailed. He nearly cried when he was accepted into the crew. "This is for you, mother and father." he said to himself that day.

Personality: Pree is a strange one. Not because she's different, but because of the personality flip. Ironically, despite how the others act, Pree is weird and thinks that everyone is... Well, I have no idea what she thinks, but she seems to believe that faking being nice will earn her more fish. Around them she is not a bit nervous or angry. However when she is put on the path of prey she changes. It doesn't seem to matter what is happening, she'll go for the kill. Around food she gets way too competitive and gets very upset when the others don't reward her kindness with their kill. It's a weird path, but she likes to think that by 'liking' the others they will basically bow down to her and pay her. She might not be a great white, but she can be mean. Feel bad for humans who fall into her grip. She isn't very nice to them, because she sees them more as subjects and prey at the same time. If she gets a human she likes to play with it for a while... It gets weird as she treats it like a trophy. Kind of like people do with their catches.

-Terrible at resisting urges
-Not too good in open water

She had been out with her friends for a swim when she went a lot too far. It had been a good sunny day, and the cold ocean felt nice. It was nice until her friends couldn't find her. Pukai never came back, and was declared dead after three day of failed searching. The area was thought to be cursed due to two more search men also going missing.

Pree was fine happy with her new life. The humans deserved to be toyed with... It would be a good day.

Being a social siren will result in ridicule, most of the time.) Around them she is not a bit nervous or angry. However when she is put on the path of prey she changes. It doesn't seem to matter what is happening, she'll go for the kill. She'd be very hard to deter from killing. Caught a whale? Pree is going to try and get you. Had a nosebleed (From watching too much anime?) Pree's gonna bite you. She might not be a great white, but she can be very mean to her prey. If she gets a human she likes to play with it for a while... It gets weird as she treats it like a trophy.

(Overall, this character has a lot of conflicting personality traits and strengths and weaknesses. She can't be good at everything, so there needs to be something she can't do so well that other sirens might be okay with. You need to make some major changes to her traits to match that of a siren and less of a human murderer.

Sorry! ^^' I really don't see too much harm with her trying to be social. I can change some of the skills and that other things, but I really don't understand why she needs to be not social

Unless she is a siren shifter, being social isn't natural for sirens. They are supposed to compete for prey, not conglomerate with each other. You can make your character a siren shifter who retains a human personality and prefers to be siren and then she can be social, but I'm not going to make exceptions since your character is a full siren. Sorry.

EDIT: Sirens can talk to one another, but chances are they won't become close friends with each other just for the sake of being friends. They're naturally selfish and vain creatures, so altruism and complex friendships aren't supposed to be in their range of ability.

You can make your character a siren shifter who retains a human personality and prefers to be siren and then she can be social, but I'm not going to make exceptions since your character is a full siren. Sorry.

EDIT: Sirens can talk to one another, but chances are they won't become close friends with each other just for the sake of being friends. They're naturally selfish and vain creatures, so altruism and complex friendships aren't supposed to be in their range of ability.

I really think I'm going to keep her as a full siren... I don't want to change what she is. She's going to be just a bit weird to them. Yes, she is pretty bloodthirsty though, so she has that

Personality: Elora is fairly social compared to the rest of her family ("Joey decided he only likes death and darkness and needs to summon his demon spirit... He's also eleven. Joey doesn't like to leave his room and hisses at anyone who tries to turn on the light. He was grounded once and was forced to go outsi- Too much?") She enjoys talking during the light moments and might just talk your ear off. However, if you catch her at a bad time she might just ignore you or yell at you. So don't try to interrupt her important duties and break her concentration. Other than that she's fairly calm. Until she gets drunk... Then she's not angry, more discombobulated and franticly lost and confused. Don't give her more than a glass.

Backstory: Elora was born and raised in Urchin Harbor. She had two brothers, one five years older, and the other seven years younger. Joey was a little rascal, but Carl was her idol for all her life. When Elora was fifteen, her older brother was killed. They'd been out on a fishing trip for her father with her mother at home with Elora and little Joey. Her father came back, but Carl was gone. Carl had been dragged down by one of those cursed deep dwellers, and the family was broken. Even little Joey seemed to be down.

Elora was distraught for quite some time, but she decided that the time was done about two years later. Yes, she'd been whaling during that time with a local crew, but she hadn't actually been doing much and they hadn't caught anything. She got on that next boat with her father three months later. It was her first time seeing a siren. From several meters away, there was one sitting on a large rock. It didn't attack, instead diving into the depths. The trip continued, but later that day someone on another ship was lost. They'd been lucky.

From then, she got more on the whaling to support her aging parents. She was fairly good at it too, seeing as she made routine workouts. There was only that one siren that she'd ever seen. It made her want to destroy them for the sake of everyone. Part of her felt bad, but she shoved it aside for her brother. They would kill humans, so she'd kill sirens every chance she got. Now it's time to go get Joey out of his room.

That was much more satisfying than the whale they caught as well, even if it quickly rotted away. (Yeah, no, bullshit. Killing a siren is superhuman. I said no op characters and this is a clear examole as one. Sirens are DANGEROUS. You cant murder them for fun, especially if youre a little girl all alone. She would be dead in a realistic combat situation with a siren. They are more powerful than humans, and on top of that humans don't have the mental strength to resist a siren's allure on their own.) They had to take a few pictures and dispose of the body.

I do not think you know that part time means working on working days, just for less time. It's unlikely someone sails on whaling voyages for months at a time and then returns to manage a shop. It's too much for a human to realistically handle.
What I meant was that when she's home she'll try and help her dad, sorry bout that
