The only time it seems these rushed people are able to take a second is during the annual East Side Charity Ball. The ESCB is an event that has been thrown every year for the past 99 years by a mysterious person no one has met and this year marks 100. The IT people always show up, trying to out dress each other and outbid each other on different arts, jewelry, and even dates for the night. It'll be the most talked about event of the year. But this time, they won't be talking about it because of 'Who Wore It Best'. No, they'll be talking about this because this is where everyone's life changes. She is very possessive over what she cares about, and will peruse an objective to the detriment of everything else. Unfortunately, what she cares about rarely extends further than her own interests, except when she focuses her obsession on something. Even then, her obsessions are generally motivated by self interest over anything else.

Bio:
Born to two rich parents, Lileath and her sister were extremely well looked after, to the point that it bordered on being spoilt, although her parents tried hard to avoid this. Lileath was always craving attention however, and strongly resented her little sister for seemingly being perfect.

She was comfortable, getting along with her schooling outstandingly for her age, when tragedy struck. Playing at their summer house with her sister, the younger girl fell in the river, drowning before anyone could save her. Although it was put down to an accident, no one was entirely sure that was true.

After spending nearly six months in law school, having passed her exams with apparent ease, tragedy was to strike again, this time in the form of her parents. There was no doubt this time though: she'd been out of town at the time, and the house burned down before they could be saved. This did mean she inherited their entire fortune, being their only surviving child.

Now she has an eye on someone, a person who's attention she craves very much. But what will she do is another happens to latch onto them first?

In her past, she hasn't had any boyfriends, as her preoccupation with becoming a lawyer had consumed all of her attention. She is now looking for one however, but in her narcissistic arrogance, she finds it difficult to find someone she deems worthy.

I sat by my fathers side, thinking deeply although I didn't let that show as I watched with bored amusement as Bella continued to make her point. Regalus was dead, so that was no longer an issue (even if he hadn't told me how, he merely told me that he died a traitor) but what was to be done about his older brother and his friends? Well really, Lupin wasn't an issue and Peter was already working for us, James was too busy with his wife and newborn son, which left one prominent member. Sirius. We both mused on this, knowing he was far more useful alive than dead, and my father summoned his old school friend. A trembling, weedy man with watery eyes slunk into the room, bowng hastily.

"My-my lord...?"

He asked, in his fear trembling before the Dark Lord. My fathers eyes narrowed as he railed off about his grades (which were certainly high enough), his hobbies and his ex lovers. He seemed to trail off at this point, and looked even more uncomfortable.

"Please... my Lord... I don't mean to be disrespectful... but as Sirius has such a love for attractive young women... Lileath probably has the best chance of being able to gain information from him..."

He trailed off, unsure of whether it was his place to suggest such an idea. He turned to me, his eyebrows raised in a silent question. I thought on this for a short while, neither Bella or Peter daring to leave, before I asked him where he could be found.

Two nights later, I found myself lounging in a bar. Well lounging was probably the wrong word given how busy it was, but I was stood at the bar, waiting to be served. I'd dragged Peter out shopping, telling him to pick me out an outfit that Sirius would most likely be drawn to, and I'd dismissed at least four outfits for being too sexualised before I settled on one: a pair of tight black jeans and a black vest top, a shimmering (extremely thin, to the point where I'd initally questioned what the point of it was) jacket to go over the top, and a pair of studded leather boots. As when I usually went out, my eyes were brown, and I casually scanned the place, spotting him piling in with a bunch of new arrivals. He wasn't hard to spot, and I adjusted myself lightly so I'd be closer to where he was likely going to be at the bar.

Life was never intended to be easy for the Valentino family. Manuel Valentino, Kortia's grandfather, was born and raised in Havana, Cuba. As a child Manuel spent most of his days scraping food together for his family. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, his mother sent him on a raft to get to the United states when was only 12. There he would join one of his Aunts before eventually gaining permanent residency. He'd take up baseball in High School and earn a baseball scholarship to the University of Miami. He excelled at baseball but something compelled him to protect the country that helped him escape his poverty so he opted to join the Navy. While in the Navy, Manuel would work his way up to Read Admiral Lower Half (1 star Admiral) before retiring at age 48. During this time he married an Afro-Cuban woman and had two children. After his Military career he went to private defense consulting before building a multi billion dollar empire.

This passed on to his eldest son, Captain Roberto "Bobby" Juan Valentino, who would join the Navy like his father eventually becoming a Navy SEAL. After several successful missions, included planned joint operations, Roberto would work his way to Captain leaving the active field and instead commanding special operations fleets. During this time he would marry a black woman that he had met in High School. Despite his father's insistence that he marry someone in his class, he married the woman anyway. She was a biochemist and a very successful one at that, even if her 250k salary wasn't up to the billion dollar standards of Manuel, They would also have their own children, before he eventually took his father's place and ran the company.

One of those Children was Kortia. Kortia was born along side her elder brother, Jayceon but was raised completely different than he was (she had another elder brother but he was the family screw up.) While he was groomed to run the business and become a SEAL, following the tradition of the patriarchs, Kortia was sheltered and raised 'girly' to become a wife. Part of that was to follow the archaic ideology of marrying her off to build a business relationship, the other was to learn how to deal with businesses like a woman. Her eldest brother would eventually go the University of Miami like his father before him before heading off to the Navy when Kortia was merely 15 years old. It would only be two years later when herbrother would be MIA.

Though his body was never found, they didn't tell the family much and they did their best to move on to groom their next eldest to take over the business. The military for him was a lost cause. Unbeknownst to them, Kortia had begun training in her free time preparing herself to become a Navy SEAL like her brother before her. When her elder brother began battling drugs, they began to groom Kortia to take over the business. Excited to finally send her off to the University of Miami as was the tradition in the family, they said their good byes. What they didn't know was though the young woman earned a full academic scholarship for her merit, she also jointed the Navy ROTC. They didn't learn this, or perhaps they didn't' care to learn this, until she left for Officer Candidate School. Eventually she'd become a SEAL Sniper and take on many successful missions like her brother before her, all while learning the ins and outs of the business from her father in the meanwhile. She just returned to home in the Upper East Side on an extended leave. She had been on so many missions back to back, that command had given her a very long leave. ​

"My family means everything to me. They're the reason I even joined the SEALs. I wanted to keep our family's name clean and in good standing. I wanted to show that the Valentinos are not to be messed with. I wanted to show my late brother he will be missed...that he was my hero."

Goofy, might be the best way to describe Tia. She always tends to go out her way to make sure that everyone in the room is smiling. It was her nature, as evident in the several programs she started for underprivileged students and others in the area. She even started an after school program for kids that focused on games and laughter to help them learn. She has a bad habit of sacrificing herself and well-being for family, tending to lose sight of her own goals to ensure that her family is taken care of. That loyalty is as big as an asset as it is hindrance for the hard worker who would love nothing more to sip Starbucks and help kids the rest of her life.
She's very into her appearance, opting to spend most of her money on clothes and makeup as she was raised to do so by her mother. When it comes to her friends she seems to be loyal to a flaw, and a tad bit gullible with and often gets betrayed because of it. She has a heart of gold and likes to volunteer at animal shelters and gets really sad being away from her dogs and guinea pig. Despite all of this cuteness and kindness, once you are on her bad side she had a terrible habit of holding a grudge until her deathbed. She won't stab you in the back but she won't do anything help you in the process. ​

Apologizing is hard for her.

Kenna is also a pretty proud person; she hates asking for help. She'd rather do things on her own, despite all the help she had from her parents through her younger years. Impulsive and impatient, she can quickly rub people the wrong way. If they take the chance to get to know her, they'd see that she's passionate and bright, and loves to laugh.

McKenna Natasha Kelley was born to a wealthy set of parents, Clyde and Heather. Clyde was a top shot lawyer who produced music on the side; he was never home. On the rare occasion he was, however, it quickly became evident that he was not the pants wearer in his relationship. Heather was a born and bred socialite who'd never had to work for a thing in her life. She'd chosen to be a model, which brought her in good money over the years.

Kenna took voice and dance lessons as a child, along with countless other things that she'd try for a few weeks and grow bored of. Dancing and singing were the two things that stuck. She was used to a world where everyone knew who she was, and knew who her parents were, and didn't bother trying to get in her way.

And then they lost it all.

Thanks to a few bad investments, their money was gone. Heather was pissed; she would never truly forgive Clyde for messing up that bad. But Heather wasn't a total idiot-- she'd saved some, away from her shared accounts with her husband, and she took Kenna and left Clyde. In a new place, no one knew who Kenna was, and though she was talented, so were others.

Still, she wouldn't give up. She succeeded in being the soloist every year throughout high school, and then went to a hard to get into arts college. Things were tough there, but she ended up being discovered her second year, whisked away into a life of fame.

Kristina glanced over her shoulder as she and her older brother walked towards their house, narrowing her eyes at anyone who stared back. "Show's over, already!" She yelled at a few of them, her steps never faltering. Upon reaching their front porch, she looked down at Lucky, confusion etched on her gaze. "Don't 'huh' me, you heard what I said."

Crossing her arms over her chest, she inspected one set of nails. The manicure she'd given herself was starting to chip; she'd have to sit down tonight and repaint. "I'm thinking blue... or red. What do you think?" She held out her nails for her brother to look at, noticing immediately that something wasn't right. "Luck?" She tilted her head to the side, but he was already pushing himself up and bolting into the house. "Luck?!" She called after him, but he didn't stop.

She stood there for a few minutes, wondering what he'd realized that she'd missed out on. She didn't have to wait long before he reappeared, face flushed and eyes bloodshot and shining with angry tears.

"He robbed us, big this time. He took what I had saved for school and winter. We're fucked."

"What?" Kris blinked a few times, staring at Lucky, willing the words her brother uttered to mean something other than what she thought. "You're fucking kidding me." Her own cheeks flushed with anger, and she looked around, as if their deadbeat father were still around, watching them. But no... he was probably long gone, already flushing that money down the drain with drugs, alcohol, and sex. "That fucker! How did he...?" She began putting the pieces together, and her face grew darker.

"Charlie. I'm going to kill him."

Background
Born in Baton Rouge, Lousiana Odilon wasn't expected to be the next Bill Gates. Expectations always seemed low for those making there way from the smaller town, not because they weren't capable but because a lot of the people were complacent. It was no difference for Odi whose mother seemed satisfied with banking on his athleticism to get him out. As selfish as it seemed, she meant well though curbing her son's curiosity into sciences was probably not the best way to go.

Even at a young age Odilon seemed to take interest in mixing different things in the house (even causing a mini explosion at one point) but his natural affinity for sports helped him excel at basketball, baseball and football. He'd continue to grow up deep into sports, while exploring his curiosity for chemistry at school or when his mother wasn't in the house.

Besides his dad not being around a lot (he wasn't an absent dad he just moved to take an oil rig job to support his family) there was nothing too out of the ordinary in his life. As he got older his mother started to press him more into sports and he got to spend less time with his passion. It wasn't until a sit down with his elder brother that he then started to fall in love with football, becoming a 4 star prospect in the meanwhile before taking a scholarship offer from the school in the same city, Louisiana State University. There he'd find his way back to this passion in Chemical Engineering and having a very successful career at LSU before becoming a first round pick for the New York Giants after his Junior season, though he went back and finished his degree in the off seasons.

He spent a couple of years in the NFL and is having a very successful career.


Persona
Emotional fireball who tends to overreact to things. He seems to be extremely sensitive, letting things get to him that probably shouldn't. Though his sensitivity serves him well as he tends to be an empath, and knows how to treat someone well or help them feel better. The caveat is between his anger outbursts and narcissism, there's a lot of times as he uses his empathetic nature to manipulate the people who are around him. Other than that he is usually very sweet and goofy, who likes to read and perform experiments using his Chemical Engineering degree in the offseason taking on jobs in his career path. He's been called a pretty boy, though that might be accurate.


Appearance
Blessed with the body of Adonis, Odi seemed to have won the genetic lottery. A thick healthy bear sits on his face and healthy long hair on his head (though it is dyed and styled.) His eyes are a dark oak brown that flirts with being the color white, and his skin is a chestnut color that was a bit darker when he lived in his Louisiana but since being in New York has lightened up a bit. He isn't the tallest, there is some debate between his height as his doctors have measured him at 5'11 but NFL physicians have him at 6'0. He is extremely well sculpted, as if a chiseled statue of Adonis himself. His body is covered in tattoos, and is ears are pierced. He is very fashion forward and tends to experiment a bit with his fashion choices.
