Name: Tucker Pillman

Tucker stands a 6'2

Tucker.png

Age: 19

Skills: Thanks to growing up on a farm, Tucker is skilled mechanic and builder. He also possesses an above-average knowledge of farming and crops. Tucker is natural climber, and strong for a man his age. He's also very social, can make friends quickly. Everybody likes him.

Personality: Generally good-natured, but misguided at times. Tucker has the habit of falling for the "wrong crowd" of people. He's used to providing for his family and others, so being one of the youngest member of Faith embarrasses him. He compensates by putting down those around his age and associates with the older members. Tucker wants to be a leader, but he tends to end up a follower.

Bio: Tucker Pillman was the middle son of a farm family who lived in Ohio. Tucker was a big fish in a small pound, quarterback of the local football team, the "king of his school." He excelled physically, taking up hiking and climbing as hobbies. He was generally loved by those around him and often sought to live up near-impossible standards. Everything was going great and his future looked bright... until the outbreak happened.

Tucker's family was holding out on their farm for only a couple weeks before a horde of walkers passed through and destroyed everything. Tucker lost his entire family and was forced to flee. He eventually met up with a group from his high school and they started heading west in a Jeep. While some might have thought high school politics didn't extend past high school, the group fell into seeing Tucker as a leader. He had been the pride of their school, after all. Unfortunately for Tucker, he couldn't protect everyone. Their jeep was swarmed and in the chaos, Tucker was separated from everyone.

First his family, then his friends. Tucker had let everyone down.

While looking for his missing friends, Tucker made it to Faith. Grateful for the community, Tucker quickly wanted to prove himself. Tucker was helpful for both his knowledge and strength in assisting Dean building the walls. The older man ended up taking the boy under his wing. The two became close as mentor and mentee. Tucker did make other friends, but it was Dean he looked up to and always wanted to hang out with.

After Dean and Doctor Binna got together, Tucker was left in the lurch. Dean didn't want the kid around as much anymore. Tucker sulked for a while, not getting close to many others. Jemma wanted to be friends, but Tucker had no interest in the girl.

Tucker loves the idea of bringing new people into Faith. However, Dean has told him the this isn't a good idea, so his excitement has lowered.

Name: Maia Drake

Maia.png

Age: 19

Skills: Maia was a great student with high grades, despite her attention span being short. She knows how to dig in and work extra hard to make up for her deficiencies. She's got a pretty good memory as well. After being mugged once, she picked up some MMA skills. She also is a skilled painter.

Personality: Maia is an energetic young woman who enjoys gothic fashion and trends. She tends to buck social norms by wearing outlandish outfits. She's developed a hard exterior from a rough childhood of neglect and bullying. Despite this, she was once a bright and sociable girl. The outbreak and losing her best friend has made her meek. She wants to break out of her slump and make friends again.

Bio: Maia was born and raised in Portland, Oregon before moving to Chicago at 13. She had a rough upbringing with a neglectful only father, so she became troubled and often got into fights. She had very low self-esteem and dealt often with isolation. Her beacon of hope came in the form of AJ Garcia, who she met in high school after checking out a local music shop he worked at. The pair became fast friends and connected at school, Maia often helping AJ with his schoolwork.

As she grew up, she became more social and expressed herself through her art, but still struggled to maintain friendships. At age 16, someone attempted to mug Maia with a knife. She struggled with the man, ending up cut. She got away in the end, but the police never caught the guy. She started taking up MMA lessons as a result.

Maia and AJ were set to attend college in Washington together when the outbreak occurred. The pair left everything behind and decided to brave this new world together. They managed to stay alive for a couple of months, staying within the Illinois and Indiana area. Eventually, the worst caught up with them and AJ was bitten. Losing AJ was completely devastating for Maia, who wandered into Faith in a blur. She's been a member of the community for months but is only now beginning to come out of the shell she had put around herself after losing AJ.

Name: Katja

Katja.png

Age: Unknown (mid 40s)

Skills: Though her memories of where she acquired these skills is fuzzy at best, Katja seems to have advanced ranged and close combat training. She's pretty light on her feet and could be considered a master of stealth. She's also an avid knitter and crocheter.

Personality: Katja is very quiet and tends to keep to herself. Despite her reserved nature, she is seemingly quick to anger at times. Her mental health is in decline and she is treated with medication given to her by Doctor Hatch and Julianna. She is grateful toward them and only them.

Bio: Katja herself isn't clear who or what she was before the outbreak. She remembers coming to America from Eastern Europe. She remembers a husband and a three kids. Two girls and a boy. She remembers being a detective or something akin to one. She remembers her kids being eaten by grabbers. She remembers a woman killing her husband and making her watch. She remembers a man trying to catch her until she killed him.

That's when things went "red" for months.

Coming out of "the red" somewhat, she arrived at Faith a month before Binna's group. She was angry and dangerous, lost in half-forgotten memories. Carrying an uzi and a homemade spear, Katja was a sight to behold. It was clear she'd been through hell. Julianna and Doctor Hatch put her in a "private room" and have been working to provide her comfort.

For months, she stayed only in that room. They put a small TV with a DVD player for her where she just would watch DVDs and knit. The knit socks were then passed out to the people in need. She keeps to herself expect for Doctor Hatch, Sister Carmen, Julianna, Derek, Ray and Calliope, all who visit.

Faith's Head of Security
Name: Derek Cazares

Derek.png

Age: 37

Skills: Having spent about 15 years within the military, the majority of Derek's skills come from these experiences. He displays an impeccable level of self-sufficiency and an ability to keep calm under any pressure. He has a high degree of weapon and firearm proficiency, as well as astute observational skills. Having grown up in the area, he knows everything around Faith exceptionally well.

Personality: Derek's often described as an earnest man, if not a bit on the dim side. He's been humbled a lot by the world but every now and then he can be a bit boastful. He likes to be the provider who is relied upon, even if others may be better suited to such a role. Regardless, he's good at following orders when it really counts.

Bio: Growing up the youngest of three brothers, Derek always felt like he had something to prove. He got in trouble a lot as a kid due to his need to lie and boast about himself. He claimed to be a kid in the background of a few too many movies for his fellow peers not to make fun of him for it. He got bullied a lot, though refused help from anyone. His older brother of just a few years tried to intervene once, but Derek became unbelievably angry with him, fracturing the pair’s relationship.

Derek’s school performance was never very great. He wasn’t the brightest kid and it didn’t help that he had such a contentious relationship with most of the people around him. Not necessarily by choice or anything, he was ultimately a good kid who tried just a bit too hard.

He went into the military after high school for a number of reasons and ended up doing a tour in Iraq. He ended up coming home to a family that didn't appreciate him or his service. He resolved to continue doing what he was doing and continued to serve where he could.

During the outbreak, Derek was still stationed at a military outpost near Kansas City. They ended up taking in many survivors during the first few weeks, the largest majority being a group of local nuns and priests. Derek ended up taking a special interest in one of the nuns, a woman named Carmen de Leon. They became fast friends, though Derek undoubtedly felt an attraction to her. Not caring if it was appropriate or if she would reciprocate, Derek would often flirt with Carmen. She often flirted back, though made it clear she was just joking.

As weeks turned to months, the situation at the outpost worsened. Sickness took many of the survivors, though miraculously, none of the priests or nuns had been affected. Driven to the brink by despair, exhaustion, and starvation, those that survived started to attribute the apocalypse with the idea of divine retribution. Derek’s chain of command began to break down as some soldiers died and others fled. One of the priests, Father Albert Yodder, had surfaced as a man many others began to follow. He instilled in the group paranoia and further circulated the idea that only those who exhibited zealous faith in himself and God would survive this apocalypse.

Albert ended up in charge after another of Derek’s officers died, though Derek had reason to believe it was the priest who had killed him and not simply disease. Carmen was no fan of Albert’s and warned Derek that the man had consolidated too much power and that things would only get worse. Derek tried to convince her to flee at first, but Carmen had reservations about leaving her friends and fellow nuns behind. Unfortunately, as Carmen had said, Albert’s reign of power started to involve torturing those who didn’t follow him. There was even reason to believe he was sexually abusing many of the nuns who followed him.

Knowing things couldn’t go farther and seeing Carmen’s despair, Derek decided to confront Albert. A fight broke out and the priest’s followers restrained Derek. He was to be publicly executed a few days later. While Derek waited for the end, Carmen came to his cell and talked the guard into letting him go. He soon learned that Carmen had killed Father Yodder and the two had no choice but to flee.

On the road, Derek and Carmen’s relationship became official. Derek felt a deep love for the woman and only wanted to keep her safe. They found the community, Faith, in its early days and decided to start fresh there. However, much to Derek’s annoyance, Carmen wanted them to keep their relationship a secret. She kept promising that they would one day tell everybody, but that has yet to come. Derek doesn’t like it, but he is willing to keep their ongoing relationship a secret if that’s what Carmen wants.

Trying to force her hand, Derek asked Carmen to marry him. She said yes, though still has not decided to reveal their relationship to everyone. Derek waits for the day he doesn’t have to lie anymore, though he grows more anxious every day.

Faith's Runners

Vincent "Doctor V" Colmer

Name: Paul Green

Paul.png

Age: 46

Skills: Growing up as a boxer, Paul has a pretty good understanding of how to hold his own in a fight. He's got a hardy disposition physically and mentally as well. He used to work as a trainer so he knows how to identify others' strengths and help guide their physical abilities.

Personality: Paul is a really stand-up father who would do basically anything for his loved ones. He's a pretty easygoing guy who can go with the flow most of the time. He's generally an empathetic person and willing to be patient with those he does not understand. As a result, he can be seen as a bit of a fence-sitter.

Bio: Paul grew up in Chicago, the son of a former boxer and a nurse. He took up his father’s profession in his teens and early 20s, making a name for himself as a semi-professional in the local Chicago scene. He adored the sport and loved making his father proud. He knew it would not be something he could do forever but that was a concern he continued to put off for as long as possible.

He was staying in St. Louis for a fight when he met a woman by the name of Sara at his hotel. He was quite enamored with her and invited her for a drink at a nearby cafe. He was pretty surprised to learn she was the brother of the man he was about to have a bout with, but something about the encounter felt special to him. The two hit it off so well that Sara, a budding lawyer, was starting to take frequent trips to Chicago to see Paul’s fights.

As the relationship between Paul and Sara blossomed, his desire to keep boxing started to wane. He was thinking about his future now. Things came to a head when he realized his aging father was more interested in Paul’s future with Sara than his future in boxing. He married Sara at 26 and put his boxing on the back-burner. He retired completely when Sara became pregnant two years later.

Paul managed to land a job as a trainer at a gym as he raised his new child. He could not have possibly been happier. He loved Sara dearly and wanted the absolute best for his daughter, Jemma. When Jemma came out as transgender, Paul didn’t bat an eye. He never thought he’d be that kind of person, but when it came to his daughter, he had nothing in his heart but love and support. Sara fell in with him too and they did all they could for Jemma as she grew older, even as their parents seemed to lack understanding.

A couple of years before the outbreak occurred, Sara fell ill. It turned out to be lung cancer. Unfortunately for Paul and his family, it had been caught late, and no amount of surgery or chemotherapy could prevent the inevitable. Sara passed away, leaving Paul and Jemma very little time to mourn before their world was turned upside down a second time over.

Paul took Jemma and traveled to Indianapolis to see his family. They were devastated to find only death and fire. The pair then traveled to Fort Wayne, coming across a budding community called Faith that took them in. Paul was thankful for the community and their support. He started doing runs for them, knowing that Jemma needed medical supplies that few others would likely know what to look for. He’s become an established member of the community since then.

Name: Sean Scott

Sean.png

Age: 25

Skills: Sean’s foremost skills include hunting and tracking game. It was the hobby that consumed most of his spare time growing up, right up until the outbreak. He’s knowledgeable in the use of basic firearms, including rifles. He has respectable survival skills, having been taught by his father and putting it into practice the first months of the outbreak.

Personality: For the most part, Sean is usually on the quiet side. He tends to speak only when necessary and is not one to give out personal details about himself. He makes somewhat of an effort to avoid interpersonal relationships but is inwardly respectful of his fellow Faith runners. When he does get talking, it’s usually in a sarcastic or witty manner. He tends to push people away rather than risk them getting too close to him.

Bio: Sean grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, alongside his identical twin brother, Chase. The pair of kids were pretty similar in personality as well, being known as pretty quiet and shy. Their teachers often expressed worry over their social skills as they generally kept to each other. Their father found this pretty patronizing and ended up coming down hard on the kids for even the most minor of infractions. It was his desire to “toughen them up,” which even extended to his frequent hunting trips with the pair.

It became a tradition for the boys to go out with their father to a nearby hunting preserve at least once a week, though these trips sometimes seemed an excuse for their father to get away from their mother. Sean’s father got into some trouble when he disregarded hunting regulations and lapsed in paying certain fees. It didn’t seem to do much though, for his father simply continued to hunt in new locations, managing to avoid consequences for his actions. He often told his sons that if one could bend the rules, they should. For life was simply what you made of it.

The relationship between Sean’s parents started breaking down in his teenage years. His brother and he started to develop their social skills, though neither of them were particularly popular. They had a small group of hangers-ons, a couple girlfriends here and there, that’s all they needed. Still, while both twins were developing a reputation of getting in trouble and talking back to their teachers, it was Sean who was starting to gain an appreciation for school.

The first rift between the twins happened when they were graduating from high-school. Chase wanted to keep working in his parents’ local good store while Sean wanted to go off to college. The store had been inherited by their grandfather, so Chase felt it was a betrayal of the family not to stay on. As it was around this time their mother left their father and thus left the store, Sean felt forced to help out at the store.
Having had the twins later in his life, their father was almost sixty as they were hitting their twenties. He had never been one to take care of his body so started getting sick more often. Chase insisted that he and Sean continue their weekly hunting trips even without their father. Having learned from his father, Chase often broke regulations. The twins were on the verge of an arrest when the outbreak occurred.

Sean’s father died soon after and the pair struck out on their own. They lived comfortably in this new world, moving out of the city to hunt as much as game as they desired. This started to wear Sean down, who was feeling dissatisfied with spending his every waking moment with only his twin. Chase never seemed to mind though, he was fiercely loyal to his brother and wanted them to never get close to anyone.

This rule was broken by Sean a couple months into the outbreak. He met a man in the woods once and took the man back to his camp, seeing a possible friend in him. Chase saw the man as a threat and killed him without hesitation. It was for Sean’s own good, Chase had told him. Things only got worse as the line between the dead and the living blurred for Chase. He started hunting people behind Sean’s back. It was all meat to him. Life was what you made of it, their father had said.

When Sean finally learned the truth, there was no going back. He confronted his brother, only to learn how twisted his thinking had become. Having no other choice, Sean attacked his twin brother, barely being the victor of the encounter. After burning his twin and recovering from his wounds, Sean decided to go south, eventually finding himself in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

To his surprise, the people of Faith took him in easily. They had asked briefly about his past but accepted his vague answers without much prodding. He’s continued to live there to this day, talking little about what transpired with his family and assisting the community with his hunting skills.

Name: Jasper Walsh

Jasper.png

Age: 28

Skills: Jasper has a bit of a silver tongue. As a former car salesmen, he's used to talking around people, telling them what they want to hear, and leading them in the direction he wants. This also gave him skills as a driver. He has fighting experience from a brief background in MMA. He was also a former eagle scout, giving him basic survival and interpersonal skills.

Personality: Jasper is a smarmy "good ol' boy" who always seems to know the right thing to say. He can be witty at times and a bit of a joker. He knows exactly how to blend into a crowd and when to stand out. However, despite his best efforts, a lot of people feel like he's always trying to sell them something when he talks to them.

Bio: Born in the Fort Wayne area, Jasper was raised primarily by his grandfather, a former veteran. His parents died when he was at a young age and his grandmother had always been a sickly woman. Aside from these troubles, his life was largely an easy one. He got along well with his peers and did particularly well in school. While not in dire straits, Jasper's family had always had a below-average level of income, so he ended up running a racket in school of selling test answers and notes to fellow students. When he got out of high school, he was still all about making money. He went to college only long enough to evolve his earlier deeds and start undercutting the college on textbook sales. He still continued to sell test answers as well, only to be eventually be caught and kicked out.

Undeterred, Jasper continued to be a salesman. He worked over the phone to sell magazines and jewelry no one really aught to want. He eventually became a car salesman-- a really good one. He outsold all of his co-workers within just a year of working there. He worked there for years, eventually thinking of getting into selling insurance, right up until the outbreak occurred.

After the outbreak, Jasper made out well. He had no friends or family to worry about. He lived in a nice high-rise building but had to abandon it quickly when it became overrun. He then spent some time living in his former workplace before coming across the original members of Faith. He ended up joining right after the community began. He was the original head of security before Derek showed up. Jasper didn't mind when Derek took over, he was better at it, and Jasper decided he wanted to lay low for the most part.

However, Jasper has become unsatisfied with the way things are over time. He likes having some level of control, which is why he started becoming a runner for the group. He finds now there's maybe too many people with too many resources being taken. He's not one to stand out, but he hopes things around Faith change soon.

Faith's Head of Supply Management
Name: Ben Morita

Ben.png

Age: 57

Skills: Ben’s a sort of jack-of-all trades man, having taken on a lot of jobs in his days. He’s a quick learner despite how methodical he can be. He tends to never jump to conclusions and is able to see both sides to a situation better than most. He’s good with his hands, personable, and willing to do the kinds of jobs no one else wants.

Personality: Ben is an incredibly sweet and patient man who has a lot of love in his heart. Though the new world devastated him, he is able to find beauty where others may not. He likes to take things slow and methodical, which makes him a valuable asset in supply management.

Bio: Ben had lived a humble life in Mississippi, born into a large mixed-race family. He had always been a chatty boy, though still polite and humble. He was beloved by his family, though never particularly excelled at anything. Those close to him found it strange he had never dated into his thirties, but it had just never been in the cards for Ben. He grew up in various jobs, including serving, driving, and warehouse services.

In his thirties, Ben began work at a nature reserve for birds, first as a cleaner and then as a caretaker. It was here that he met the woman who would eventually become his wife, Maria. They fell fast in love and married when Ben was 38. Ben worked at the nature reserve for the next twenty years until the outbreak happened. Maria and he kept to themselves for a while, assisted by their neighbors, though it was only a few weeks in when Maria passed away from stress and sickness.

Devastated, Ben left his home and returned to work, only to find that the birds at the reserve had no one to take care of them. Ben decided to free them, letting the hundreds of birds out into the wild.

Ben fell in with a community soon later, and months later another group arrived. This group included Elyse Hubbard, a woman that took Ben’s breath away, much like Maria had when they first met. They bonded over their lost loves and humble lives, becoming lovers and leaving together when the community was no longer sustainable. Elyse and Ben ended up at Faith soon after and they became beloved members of the community.

Faith's Head of Crops
Name: Elyse Hubbard

Elyse.png

Age: 67

Skills: Elyse has a knowledge of horticulture methods and materials, including landscaping and cultivation of various plants and crops. She possesses an endless amount of patience and has a level of faith in others that gives her a rather positive outlook.

Personality: All her life, Elyse has been a quiet and polite woman. Many times in her old age have people assumed she was simply mute, but Elyse just chooses her words very carefully. She’s always had a hardy character though her age and the outbreak has made her vulnerable. She tries to keep out of other’s business, focusing on her hobbies or her current lover, Ben.

Bio: Elyse lived her whole life in Louisiana before the outbreak. She grew up alongside four other sisters, being known as the quietest and smallest among them. She’d often assist her grandmother with her garden, gathering the closest relationship with her grandparents on her father’s side. She began to work at a call-in center in her twenties, soon meeting a man named Jeremy who was about ten years her elder.

Elyse and Jeremy fell in love and married, though life for them proceeded to be on the difficult side. Elyse had grown apart from her family in the years after her grandparent’s passing and though she desired a child, Jeremy and herself could never conceive. Talk of adoption came up but never was planned as the couple were not even sure they could support a child. Jeremy ended up passing away in his seventies, just a decade before the outbreak. Elyse never remarried nor dated since.

Following the outbreak, Elyse was living in her apartment alone. Those that had not fled the building locked it down and supported each other, though it was not long before this fell apart. Elyse and one of the building’s other tenants, a young woman named Tina, fled, ended up coming into contact with a few others. Of these, Elyse grew close with a young man named Adam, coming to see him as the son she could never have. The small group ended up occupying a small apartment above a bar in Baton Rouge, though they unfortunately ended up having to pay “taxes” to a larger group that had control of the area.

When large groups began fighting in Baton Rouge, Elyse fled with her small group, though they became forced to go their separate ways. Adam ended up being a reckless young man and got himself killed in a firefight a few months later, leaving Elyse devastated. However, she met a man named Ben Morita at the next community she found herself at. They grew close, becoming lovers, and soon found themselves as part of a truck convoy heading North in hope of getting away from their troubles. Elyse’s group became separated from the others, eventually stopping in Fort Wayne, where Faith was.

Still in its infancy, Faith took in the small group, where Elyse found her old passion of gardening with her grandmother a great boon to the community.

Faith's Priest
Name: Craig Hanlon

Craig.png

Age: 27

Skills: Craig has an inherent ability to keep cool, calm, and collected in most situations. He’s not quick to anger by any means. He can calm a room with his presence. He has a background in religious studies and social work, so he is able to read and assess others better than most.

Personality: Craig’s always available for a kind word or an impartial read on a situation. His religious faith is quite strong, though his unusual circumstances have softened his views, making a bit more on the liberal side of Catholicism. He does not have much of a backbone, even though he towers over most others. His religious teachings have made him a slightly better public speaker, he still has a hard time finding the right words to say and not tripping over himself.

Bio: Craig was always an awkward kid, towering over the others kids at a young age, fumbling his way through youth. He didn’t know how to talk to others and considering he was known for being emotional, other kids liked to take advantage of that. He had grown up Catholic, his parents instilling within him a strong faith in God, telling Craig that even as others might not be there for him, God would be.

As Craig grew older, he felt aimless in life. He had a hard time making friends and had an awful time around girls especially. He liked to sing and dance when he was about eleven and twelve, often enjoying being a part of the choir at mass. Of course, Craig realized he had two left feet and was pretty tone deaf, not to mention the fact that those were not what boys were normally into. He came into some confidence in high school, joining Catholic youth groups and finding some level of solidarity there. Not that it made Craig many friends, who seemed unable to find anywhere to firmly plant himself. He came out of high school with absolutely no idea who he was or who he wanted to be.

Craig thought he found his passion when deciding to go to school and become some kind of social worker. He was more popular now as he’d come into his looks, his height and features making him look mature for his age. Unfortunately for him, this still didn’t help him with relationships. He was still awkward with others and no girlfriend ever seemed happy with him. He didn’t know how to act.

On the verge of dropping out, Craig realized something. He harkened back to when his parents said that God would always be there for him. His religion and mass had always been solid rocks, where the rules and scriptures laid out exactly who Craig should be and how he should be. Leaving school, Craig decided to become a priest. Unfortunately for him, he had only been able to complete three years at a seminary before the outbreak began.

Since the outbreak, Craig has wavered on if the apocalypse has made his faith weaker or stronger. He saw many horrible things the first few months, including the death of many of his fellow priests-to-be. He lost contact with his family and had to flee Indinalaopis when it first began to burn. He found himself soon in Fort Wayne and within the community of Faith. He took such a community as a sign and was happy to stay there. Overjoyed to eventually start services at the church. Though he was not officially a priest as ordained by the Catholic church, everyone in Faith refers to him as one, which Craig has begrudgingly accepted.

Though still on the awkward side, Craig has flourished within Faith. He is rather well-liked, even by those who aren’t comfortable with his faith.

Faith's Head of Construction
Name: Dean Barlow

Dean.png

Age: 36

Skills: Dean is an incredibly tough man, both physically and mentally. Very little phases him and he is definitely the one guy you wanna go to if you need something heavy carried. He’s worked most of his life in construction and so he is often deferred to when something needs to be built in Faith.

Personality: Dean loves being relied upon and likes to remind people all that he’s done for them. He’s definitely egotistical. He has a tough time creating connections with people, whether he wants to or not. He ultimately wants what is best for those around him, though is pragmatic in his approach toward that and downright paranoid toward what others may be up to.

Bio: Dean’s father passed when he was just a teenager, so as the oldest of his siblings, he was put into this position of being a sort of provider. He embraced this role, relishing in it, and working long hours when he was still just in high school. He barely passed, soon working at a lumber mill and then going into construction soon after. Despite being the “provider” his relationship with his family was strained. He barely got to see them and rarely connected with them. By the time his siblings were fine and on their own, they had barely any cause to speak with him.

It didn’t help that Dean was always a sort of no-nonsense hard-ass who had trouble adapting to changes in his environment. He never lived anywhere but Fort Wayne and had never been able to keep a girlfriend for very long. He was once engaged but it ended before they could get married.

This trouble with relationships didn’t serve Dean well as the outbreak began. He had no one to rely on. Though he thought he didn’t need anyone, it became clear quickly that wasn’t sustainable. He made the effort to join a group, though he was often an outsider. He talked about wanting to build a larger community and keep them safe with walls, but most of the group was uninterested. They went North a couple of months in, but a couple named Brooke and Ray saw wisdom in Dean’s ideas and wanted to help him in creating this gated community.

Faith followed and Dean was pretty proud of the place. He respected Brooke and Ray but began to see things a bit differently than they did. He wasn’t too fond of letting more and more people in. He’s had to begrudgingly accept it for now, even finding himself in a relationship with someone who joined four months ago, Binna.

Members of Faith's Medical team

Name: Bella Root

Becca.png

Age: 24

Skills: Bella is a skilled cook, has medical training (taught by Binna), and excelled in writing in school. She boasts a strong sense of fortitude and organizational skills. She’s on the fit side as she is a former field hockey player.

Personality: Bella is a quiet but strong young woman. She is definitely what one might call a romantic who gains obsessions somewhat easily. She can be snarky at times, but only if you catch her in a bad mood. While loyal, if someone is out of line, she's one of the first to tell you "you're wrong.” Bella is an all-around honest and earnest and will do what she has to do.

Bio: Born the youngest of three, Bella made waves in her family by coming out as bisexual at age fifteen and introducing her highschool girlfriend to her parents. They were slow to accept this at first, though came around by the time Bella was eighteen.

Her and her girlfriend broke up when Bella went to LSU. It was there that she met a boy a year younger than her named Kevin, who she started dating by the end of her second year. Kevin was a big guy who commanded most rooms and who was the center for the LSU Tigers. They continued dating the year after Bella graduated, with Kevin finishing up his studies while Bella worked as an administrative agent for a writing agency.

After the outbreak, Kevin and her went West, ending up at an apartment complex that was being used by a small community. It was during the first few weeks there that Kevin changed. He became paranoid and violent. He ended up leaving with Binna’s smaller group in order to be closer with Bella, but the stress made Kevin boil over. One day, Kevin snapped, attacked Greg and Danny, then Bella when she tried to calm him down. There was a talk about what to do with him, but Bella defended him, even though she knew this wasn’t the Kevin she knew.

A second incident occurred where Kevin started choking Elliot. Elliot would have died if Bella did not intervene. Kevin was relentless, so Bella had no choice but to kill him. It destroyed her, but a part of her dealt with it by thinking that he had become something else, something not unlike the undead.

Bella has since gained her resolve and started learning medicine from Binna, becoming a sort of nurse for her and assisting the people of Faith.

Name: Gus Hatch

Gus.png

Age: 66

Skills: Gus was a retired Orthopedic Surgeon before the outbreak. So, he has a full medical background. As someone who is an admitted coward, Gus is an opportunist, always looking for an angle or a way to control the situation. Gus was, and is, a gambler. He's very skilled at telling what the odds are in any situation.

Personality: Gus is a very bitter man, even before the outbreak. Always feeling like the world was out to get him, he tends to view most others as threats. He doesn’t take too kindly to people who annoy him, though has enough sense to keep his loathing under wraps to serve himself. He is an incredibly fake person.

Bio: Twice divorced, Dr. Gus Hatch was always known as a selfish man. All he wanted was money and respect in the world, and at the end of his days, he blew both. The outbreak happened and his skills were thankfully in need. Using his medical background to get what he wanted, when he wanted, Gus had a skillset Faith needed. And for months, he took advantage of it. He'd help people, but it was all about "what do I get.” It started annoying some of the higher-ups. Then Binna and Bella showed up. Those two girls ruined his world. Binna, within days, became head doctor at Faith while he was shoved aside. He hates his two co-workers, but he follows Binna's orders… for now.

New Arrivals to Faith

Name: Alastair Walker

Alastair.png

Age: 35

Skills: Naturally well-spoken and quick on his feet, Alastair is not one to fall behind in any situation.

Personality: Alastair used to be pretty talkative, charming, and a positive presence in any room, though the outbreak and the loss of his family has hardened him around the edges. He grows despondent and quiet at times, though craves the presence of others. He can come off a bit boyish and giddy, even at his worst. He’s become heavily obsessed with his own personal radio.

Bio: Alastair’s father moved from Scotland to America at 24 before meeting Alastair’s mother, making Alastair a second-generation kid. He grew up in Dayton, Ohio with two sisters, one older than him and the other younger. He was always a bubbly and boisterous kid who had a knack for public speaking. He was studying engineering before his uncle on his mother’s side pulled him into the world of radio. His uncle worked as a technician and got Alastair some work, though by chance Alastair was in the right position to get a job on the air.

He was working for a few years as one of the hosts for a local radio show based in Lima, Ohio when he met a girl named Elayne. The two dated for a couple of years, though Alastair’s sisters never got along with her. Elayne was a pretty intense woman and eventually talked Alastair out of his career in radio to focus on something that she felt was more suitable for a man who just turned 30. Alastair did it for her but grew into a funk that only ended up tanking their relationship. The pair broke up and Alastair was disheartened for sometime following that.

Within the year, Alastair’s older sister, Fin, moved to Lima with her nine-year-old daughter, Maxine. She had been living as a single mom for a few years and wanted Alastair and herself to support each other.

It wasn’t long then before the outbreak began. Alastair and his sister lost contact with their parents and younger sister, Elsie, leaving only the three to support each other. They traveled around Ohio, finding new places to stay here and there, though Fin lost her life about six months into the outbreak. Alastair supported his niece for almost a whole year after this, though another unfortunate accident resulted in Maxine’s death as well.

Lost and alone, Alastair wandered. He managed to find a radio and became quite attached to it. He held on to it every day, hoping to find a broadcast that would lead him to people. The radio turned up nothing, but he eventually ran into a man named Wally, who was lost just like je was. Seeking companionship, Alastair asked that the man come with him. A month later, a woman named Sarah found them both on the side of the road. She was driving a bus, filling it with people as she searched for a community. Alastair was quick to get Wally and himself to join her.

Binna stands at about 5'5" and weighs approximately 120 pounds

Binna.png

Age: 39

Skills: Before the outbreak, Binna was a world-class surgeon. Owing to her previous occupation, Binna has nimble hands, making her skilled at cutting, sowing, and patching up a body without too much trouble, depending the situation. She used to deal with complicated situations on the daily. Heartbreaking scenes were an everyday occurrence, so she's a lot harder than one would expect upon meeting her. Binna also is a strong, natural leader, being cool-headed and empathetic, while also having a willingness to make the hard choices.

Binna had a few big hobbies before the outbreak, one of which was gardening. She knows how to identify many different kinds of plants and how they relate to herbalism. Another hobby of hers, albeit a strange one, was that Binna had an interest in slingshots. Malcom, one of her brothers, taught her how to use his slingshot when she was just seven and it was a passion ever since. When she had a rough day at work, she would always go to her backyard, turn some music on, and fire her slingshot. She had been great shot for years and has only improved since the outbreak.

She is also fluent in American Sign Language, learned from her adoptive mother, a deaf woman. Binna is also decent with Spanish.

Personality: Through she seen a lot of horrible scenes since the outbreak, Binna is for the most part unchanged. Still quiet, still kind and caring towards people. Binna always had a slightly dark sense of humor, not that she shared that part of her much. Binna is a "recovering" perfectionist. Always feeling like she had to be the best put a lot of pressure on her. It did make her stronger in the long run. However, there is a darker side to Binna. As much as she loved her adoptive parents, she always felt wounded by her biological parents giving her away. This was why she tried so hard to be perfect and live up to everyone's high standards. She did some research before the outbreak, and the doctor thinks she might have a twin, but she choice to not bother the woman. Of course, some things have changed. Sometimes she can seem cold or uncaring when he makes the hard choices. She is more cutthroat than she was in the past. She won't back down if she thinks something is wrong.

Bio: Binna Roberts was adopted by Seth and Libby Roberts before the age of one. Raised in Washington state, Binna and her four siblings (Abel, Malcom, Donald, and Wally) had an amazing life. Seth was a restaurateur and a chef, while her mother helped run the business while working at the local library. Libby being deaf never slowed her down and really inspired Binna.

Binna was the middle child. Her relationship with her brothers varied. Abel, the oldest, was close with Binna. 6 years apart, she always looked up to him. Binna was the first one in the family that Abel told he was gay. He knew she could be trusted and he needed to tell someone. Years later, when Abel became a lawyer, the two drifted apart since they lived on opposite sides of the country. They talked once or twice a month and she loved visiting him and his partner, Sean.

Malcom was second oldest. Malcom was her rock. He was only 4 years older, so during their teen years, Binna would help Malcom study or work on his car. When her first boyfriend cheated on her, Malcom was the one to have a "talking to" with him. When Donald would go hard on her, Malcom was the one who stand up to him. When the outbreak was just starting, Malcom called his sister, asking what he should do about some guy who bit him and his wife. It was a heartbreaking conversation.

Donald, who was 3 years older, was a piece of shit. He bullied his sister, mocking her for being adopted. If it wasn't for Malcom and Wally, it would have been hell dealing with him. Binna knew he didn't see her as blood and that bugged her so much. During Christmas the year Binna was hosting, the two finally went verbally blow to blow. It got so ugly that Wally got arrested for hitting Donald and it shattered the siblings. He excommunicated himself from the family, only maintaining a relationship with Abel, which strained Abel's closeness with Binna. She tried to call Donald during the start of the outbreak, but his wife told her to "go to hell."

Then we have Walcott. Wally was the youngest, 6 years younger than Binna. Until recently, they were best friends. Wally flocked to Binna. She'd look out for her baby brother all the time and she was always one to help him with his homework. Wally was also, for lack of a better word, a screw up. In high school, he hung out with the wrong people and got into trouble.

When Binna finally got her own place in Miami, Wally moved in with her. Living rent free, no real job skills or opportunities. When she'd work, he'd invite friends over. Throwing parties and getting high. He started to get addicted to pain killers after a knee injury. This went on for years. Binna had always been a pushover when it came to Wally, but after a giant fight, he did go to rehab. He stayed clean for only a few years.

He got a job as a janitor, met a cute nurse. Started slowing down. Until her hurt his knee again. He totally relapsed. Stealing prescription pads, he got himself fired. Binna was beyond angry. She kicked him out, cut contact. He left for Chicago and that was the last she heard from him. That was a few months before the outbreak

One day, at the start of the outbreak, that's when Binna saw it. All her co-workers were already on edge, the outbreak was just starting. Short staffed, she was helping a gunshot victim. The team worked for a while, trying to keep the lady alive. However, they failed, calling a time of death.

While the team was cleaning up, the woman eye's suddenly turned, and she bit the lead doctor in the side. Binna froze. How was this possible? The woman's chest had been cut open and her heart visible. It was not beating. Grabbing a scalpel, Binna had no choice but to defend herself. Slashing at the rampaging woman, Binna realized she only went down after a stab to the back of her head.

It wasn't too soon after things started to fall apart. For the first few months, Binna's goal was just to help people. Traveling here, traveling there, she just trying her best. Things started getting worse and worse over time.

Binna made it by herself for a while. One day she made it to an apartment building, two people living there. Cindy, a woman dying of cancer, and her son, Greg. Binna took care of Cindy, treating her and making her feel comfortable in her dying days, while her and Greg fell in love. Greg was big guy, a construction worker, but he was sweet, funny, and so supportive. Binna never really had a super serious relationship, so Greg meant everything to her.

A few months later, a few others showed up, including two friends named Elliot and Danny. Elliot and Binna clicked right away. He was deaf, so the fact that she knew ASL created a bond between them. He reminded the doctor of her brothers. Danny on the other hand? Binna liked him, but she was sure he wasn't a fan of hers. He was just so... broken, and it was hard for him to trust her. He got along better with Greg than he did with Binna. More people came. A girl named Bella, and her boyfriend named Kevin. It was becoming a community.

Soon after Cindy died, Binna became the leader. Everything was good for a time, however, the wrong people showed up. Binna could tell they would rather burn the group down than make peace. A dispute happened and the threat was taken care of. A few people died, including Kevin. The area was still safe, but it wasn't worth protecting due to the damage, in Binna's eyes. While some of the group stayed, Binna, Greg, Elliot, Danny, Bella, and a few others left.

The group stayed strong for the most part. They did lose a few members on the way, but it could have been worse. One day, Elliot and Binna were sick, so Danny and Greg went out for a supply run. When the two came back, Danny couldn't even look Binna in the eye. There was a sad smile on Greg's face. She realized he had been bitten. Binna always kept her emotions in, but she unleashed a primal, guttural scream. In retrospect, it probably could have put them in danger. Running to him, she wept. The wound was not deep, but it was enough.

The two spent the rest of the day together, alone. Greg was positive as he tried to console her. All of Binna's pain and trauma during her life started flooding out at that moment. Before he would get too bad, Greg wanted to be put down. Binna couldn't do it. Danny came over and put his hand on her shoulder. He'd do it.

That night, Binna sobbed loudly and Danny spent the whole night with her. Holding her.

The next morning, Binna knew she had to put herself back together. She was in pain, but her people needed her. Binna pushed forward. Soon, they found a new group and a new place to call home.

Since joining the community, Binna has become the lead doctor. While there were another doctor, along with a nurse, Binna quickly took over. Much to some people's annoyance. Binna also met a man named Ralph, a young member of the community. They've been dating for a few months, and while she likes Dean she's not in love with him. It's sadly more one-sided

Wally.png

Name: Walcott "Wally" Roberts

Age: 33

Skills: Wally is a jack of all trades. He never could keep one job for long, so has a background in doing a lot. He can fix pipes and cars, he can do carpentry, he was a bouncer for a club, he worked in a fishing boat. Wally has worn a lot of hats. Along with that, he knows the basics on how to hunt, fish, track, and trap. Growing in the farm area of Washington, it's something his dad and his brother would do. Wally also know ASL, from his mother being a deaf woman. His ASL is rusty, however. Wally is, also, just a tough guy. He's been in his fair share of fights, before and after the outbreak. He's been through hell and back, even before the outbreak. He's still alive. He's a survivor.

Wally also can solve a Rubik's cube faster than his sister.

Personality: Wally's a very damaged person. He is very hotheaded, impulsive, and brash. It get so bad sometimes, he might just snap randomly. He's seen some horrible things, and unlike his sister, it has affected him. When he's calm, he's a rather sarcastic, good natured, and goofy guy. He tries to bring joy, even in the current hell they're all in. He's the kind of guy who will go on a scouting run to find that certain brand of shampoo you like, just to make your day better. He's loyal guy, to a fault. He comes off as a "dummy" but he's smarter than what people (and himself) give credit for.

Wally is a former pill addict, oxy was his go to. He is also a binge drinker. He's had strings of years of being sober in the past. For the first year of the outbreak, he was sober, then "something bad" happened, and he was led back to the booze. Currently he's been sober for forty-three days and plans to stay that way.

Bio: The youngest Roberts child, Wally was the black sheep. Much younger than his bothers, he grew up living with his mom, dad, and his sister, Binna. He was never the strongest student, but he did try. Binna, being six years older, would help him study and take care of him while their parents worked, and that would forge a close bond. Soon, Binna left for college, and that's when things well apart.

Wally started getting into fights and drinking at a young age. A lot of kids do that stuff, but Wally went full force on it. He did graduate high school, but he wasn't planning on going to college. He then took on odd jobs. His brother, Donald, was starting a fishing company, so he worked there for a few months before he realized he fucking hated his brother. He then took a job in construction. That was going good until one night, he was partying with his friends, and there was a car accident that killed all the people in the car except him. It did a number to his knee however and he soon moved to Florida to live with his sister, Binna.

The pill habit started when he got there. He was able to hide from his sister for a good bit of time. She was also so busy that she never noticed the pills. Every day was the same for a bit. Clean the house, fix things that were broken, party, and repeat. One day Binna had enough. She finally figured it out. He went to rehab.

Wally got clean and realized how much guilt he felt about being the only survivor of the car accident. He got his life together. Moved back in with Binna after a year being sober in a halfway house. He got a job as a Janitor at the hospital. He was surprisingly happy at his job.

He made a lot of new friends at the hospital. He also met a girl. A nurse named Athena. The two seemed so different, but they clicked. She was a little nervous dating a former junkie, especially being a single mom, but Wally gained her trust.

They dated for three years, and he was sober the whole time. One day, he fell down the stairs and messed his knee up again. At first, he didn't take any pills. Just whisky at night to soothe himself. But eventually, he stole a prescription pad at work.

One night, Athena found it and confronted him. She broke up with him on the spot, called Binna and hospital. He wasn't charged with anything, thanks to his sister, but things just got worse.

Realizing how much he fucked up, Wally became manic. Waiting outside Athena's place to talk to her, getting aggressive with Binna. He start drinking when he took his pills, something he never did before . He had a death wish it seemed. It did eventually hit a breaking point. Binna kicked him out. He had an old friend in Chicago, so he left there for a fresh start.

Staying with his buddy, Nate, and Nate's girlfriend, Molly, Wally hit rock bottom. Staring at the walls, he wondered how he got this way. He then made a choice. He quit the pills cold turkey. It wasn't the wisest choice. Nate and Molly had to take care of him for weeks when the withdrawals happened, but his body got stronger.

Than the outbreak happened.

The three quickly got out of Chicago, staying at a military outpost before it fell. Molly got bit, and Nate got himself killed trying to stop the military from killing her. Wally bolted.

He joined another group, led by a guy named Tito. He was a family man, good dude. Him, his wife Gloria, and the son Hector treated Wally like he was part of the family. The four migrated group to group for about a year.

One night, as the group rested, another group attacked. Slaughtered Hector and Tito as they slept. Grabbing Gloria, Wally tried to save her, but she couldn't leave her boys. As Wally ran, he heard the screams. He just ran and ran and ran.

He kept away from people after that. Finding small places to hide and drink. That is what he'd do. Drink, kill "shufflers" that got close to him, and repeat.

He had enough one day. Pulling out his gun, he was going to kill himself. As he put the gun to his head, and pulled the trigger, it jammed. Breaking down crying, he pounded on the ground, shouting, hope the shufflers would come. Instead, he saw a red-haired man gazing at him, asking if he was okay. The man told Wally he saw everything and said, "maybe that gun jammed for a reason."

The man offered Wally to come with him. Vowing not to drink, Wally left with him.

Brooke İnan

Age
32

Brooke has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, though such a knowledge set has provided mild use in the post-apocalypse. She is an adept pianist but doesn’t much enjoy playing. She’s a quick thinker who enjoys puzzles and logically thinking things through. She quickly learned how to use a handgun in the early days of the outbreak.

She was doted on most by her parents and excelled academically and was adored by friends and family. As a child, she was put through rigorous musical studies but Brooke began to distaste music as a result. She had a blow up with her parents in her teens and absolved free herself of their influence as soon as possible.

When she graduated high school, Brooke pursued a degree in civil engineering, having developed a fascination for it through a high school boyfriend. She took her time, becoming a teaching assistant and graduating in her 20s.

During a night out with friends at a bar, Brooke met Ray and the pair started a relationship soon after. They were together for three years before they got engaged, but the outbreak occurred before they could get married. They have been inseparable during the outbreak, establishing a community called Faith that was small at first, but grew into something they hold very dear to their hearts. Ray Williams

Age
35

Skills
Ray taught both high school and college students and developed a strong level of patience. He is endlessly empathetic and caring of others. Ray will always advocate talking things through before all others. He enjoys learning from others and spends hours assisting others in their hobbies.

Bio
Ray grew up in Fort Wayne, a single child to a hairstylist mother and a salesman father. He was always a pretty cute kid, so his parents loved to show him off. When he was very young, his father would do in-person sales outside of the office, he often brought Ray along. It turned out a lot of clients liked cute kids, as did all the moms that came into his mother’s business. Ray loved the attention at first, but as he grew older, he developed a detachment from it. When he was no longer a kid, Ray loved to be alone.

When Ray was a teen, a group of kids from his high school beat up and nearly killed one of his teachers. When the man came back to school after the incident, Ray was so inspired by the man that he grew to admire those in the teaching profession. He wanted to become a professor himself and started working toward that goal. His parents supported him wholeheartedly.

Ray taught high school for a few years before going back to school himself in order to get the credentials required to become a college professor. He met Brooke one night at a bar around this time and the pair hit it off pretty well. They had been together for three years before getting engaged, but the outbreak began before they could get married.

Ray founded Faith alongside Brooke early into the post-apocalypse. Ray has watched it grow, though has always grieved for the old world. He is Faith’s leader alongside Brooke, maintaining a philosophy against violence.

Name
Daniel "Danny" Heidecker

Gender
Male

Age
29

Skills
Danny has a lack of academic skills and never attended any post-secondary education. He has some hand-to-hand fighting skills thanks to some time spent in MMA. He’s good with his hands and can be steady and precise. He spent most of his days fixing up computers and playing video games, but these hobbies have not proven useful since the fall of society.

Since the outbreak, Danny has gained a basic knowledge of firearms but is far from an expert. He’s adeptly learned American Sign Language thanks to his friend, Elliot.

Bio
Of his family, Danny really only developed a bond with his younger sister, Joscelyn. He was never quite on the same level as his mother and father, who always seemed to want Danny to be something he wasn't. He was just never as smart or as accomplished as they wanted him to be it seemed. In an attempt to impress his parents, Danny started getting into sports when he got into high school, taking a particular interest in basketball and MMA. Through this, Danny found it easy to get friends. Still, in his senior year, Danny started to find himself closing off from most of the people he knew. The only person who was exempt from this sudden behavior was Danny's best friend, Shannon.

The pair had met in grade school and developed their friendship over time. It eventually got the point that Danny would spend more time at Shannon's than his own house. He enjoyed being around her parents far more than his own. It had been often whispered and joked about that Danny and Shannon were a couple, though truthfully their friendship had always been purely platonic.

For reasons known only to Danny, he had started acting out at home. He was never quite on good terms with his parents, but never to the degree of actively yelling at them. For a while, Danny's home life was a mess. When he realized this was negatively impacting his relationship with his sister as well, he started making plans to move out and live with Shannon's family. After a major falling out with his parents, Danny was quick to finalize the move. He lived with Shannon and her family for about a year, keeping in contact with only his sister. At 18, Shannon and Danny moved to a different state to live with Shannon's pen-pal, Monica.

While Shannon went to school, Danny ended up doing mostly dead-end jobs. Fast food worker, cashier, assistant manager at Wal-Mart. He never quite developed any particular skills through his various jobs.

When the apocalypse started, Danny and Shannon were forced to separate from Monica. The pair fell in and out of separate groups, where Danny ended up meeting a deaf boy named Elliot and the pair became pretty close in the early days of the apocalypse. It’s around this time that Danny developed some level of handiness with rifles, but he was never a big fan of them and has never been able to become anything like an expert. After many hardships, losing new communities, new friends, and Shannon, Danny and Elliot ended up at an apartment complex alongside Binna Roberts. It wasn't long before that too fell under and they ended up at Faith after traveling North for a couple of months.

Having been a member of Faith a bit over four months, Danny has somewhat integrated into the community, though he's had a hard time finding comfort in anywhere being "forever."

Name
Elliot Morris

Age
25

Skills
Elliot’s always had an interest in film and went to college for film production. He has an eye for detail and is particularly methodical in his approach on most subjects. He is adept at reading lips but it is rather difficult and never perfect, so Elliot prefers to communicate via American Sign Language.

Bio
Elliot was born deaf and grew up in a pretty normal, loving home for the first eight years of his life. However, such a normal, nuclear family life didn’t last forever. His father lost his job and left the family rather unceremoniously. Elliot’s older brother, Richard was eight years older than him and had to step up to help provide for the family. Richard was like a father figure to Elliot and took care of him a great deal, even after the apocalypse began.

Richard never left Elliot’s side, helping others they met communicate with him and teaching new friends ASL. A community the pair joined seemed to become their permanent new home, but Elliot realized it was easy for others to write him off as useless due to his inability to hear. He ended up becoming close friends with Danny through this community and the two stuck together even as they had to move on.

Elliot lost Richard and was only able to get through it thanks to Danny. He had lost his friend as well and the two eventually had only each other to rely on. They eventually found their way to the community of Faith and have been there ever since. It's been about four months now and Elliot is rather well-liked within the community. Many community members have taken to learning ASL and it's been adopted into use for whenever members of Faith leave the walls for supplies.

Name
Sarah Ziegler

Age
24

Skills
Sarah’s practical skills are few and far between. She is a self-styled mechanic, having learned a bit from her dads but learning more after the world fell. She has some skills as a musician, having enjoyed many nights playing guitar for her friends. She never learned to fight but has gained a knack for hiding and sneaking around the undead. She’s spent a lot of time alone, so has learned to tolerate loneliness.

Bio
Sarah grew up in Tennessee and had a pretty normal childhood. Sarah was always a bit of a wild girl who loved to party growing up. She had two dads who were pretty easy-going in their parenting style and Sarah found she did a lot of growing up in her teenage years. She knew her limits and her interests earlier than most. Still, she had a hard time settling down and found that school was never a good fit for her.

Sarah went to a community college for General Arts and Science when she was 18, moving out of the house to live communally with a bunch of her friends, at least two of which were on-and-off boyfriends for her. It was not long before Sarah dropped out and lived mostly off her friends and roommates for a couple years. She had a few odd jobs here and there, but her most stable career came when she started working at a fabrics store.

After everything started to go bad, Sarah and her friends honestly believed nothing would happen if they all stuck together. They isolated themselves and partied, not realizing the world just got worse and worse without them.

A couple of months in, a bunch of Sarah’s friends were killed on a supply run. None of them had the experience needed to face the new world. What remained tried to move on, but one of Sarah’s friends died from suicide, reanimating in the night to kill all of her friends. Sarah managed to escape, but she was only one.

Sarah ended up finding shelter at an old car dump. The office provided good shelter for her and she learned how to hide very well. Sarah spent her days alone, eventually practicing her mechanics skills on some of the broken vehicles. She eventually found an old school bus that was pretty intact. She fantasized about driving off and finding people again. It grew to the point where Sarah could not handle it any longer and she just started driving North.

All Sarah has wanted since then is to find a community to call home.

Skills: Fighting, running, parkour, knife tricks, origami (He’d never admit that last one)

Personality: Andrew is somewhat introverted, not out of shyness, but out of a mild distain for people. He’s perfectly willing to strike up a conversation, or pitch in if needed, but he’d rather be on his own when it comes down to it. When provoked, he looses a fearsome temper and venomous tongue, and occasionally is driven to demonstrate how he survived on his own in a world of undead monsters. He’s never without his butterfly knife, which he meticulously (some say neurotically) polishes to a mirrored finish. Andrew is a neat freak, and hates it when he can’t shower and brush his teeth. He’s also a bookworm, and would spend his life in a library if he could.

He may be indifferent to most people, but Andrew has a soft spot for kids and the elderly. The only time he doesn’t swear is around them, and he often finds himself stepping in to offer help when he notices trouble.

Bio: Andrew was always a... problem child. He spent his youth tossed between foster homes or on the run, and seldom bothered keeping track of where he was or what risks he might be taking. Andrew never really fit in with others, and when the apocalypse hit he found himself alone in a world overrun by hostile enemies. He didn’t mind the change much though, and he almost preferred the blind, honest hunger of the undead to the depravities humans were capable of.

He’s spent almost all of the time of the outbreak alone, and never allowed himself to really bother with trying to seek help. Andrew could keep himself fed and warm and watered, and he felt no need to join up with others... until he snapped his left arm fleeing from Walkers, and was rescued in the nick of time. Now, he’s on the bus to Faith, nursing his injury and plotting his eventual escape. He currently has no desire to remain longer than it takes for him to recover, but of course that might end up changing...

73C14253-D473-4D6A-8B72-DDCC006B0554.jpeg

Name: Eric Moore

Age: 23

Skills: After the years of his childhood were up, Eric found himself working in construction for lack of a better opportunity. He stayed in this field essentially from his 17th birthday until the outbreak, giving him 6 years of experience in skills associated with construction. Also, he picked up sewing as a hobby about a year before the outbreak.

Side Note: Due to Eric’s very large and burly build, he is also very proficient at destroying things through brute force, though he doesn’t quantify that as a skill.

Personality: Because of his fathers extended abuse of alcohol, Eric has formed a general distaste for anything that induces intoxication. This led to him never touching any alcohol or drugs, instead vouching for a cigarette when time permitted. Also because of his fathers abuse, Eric becomes angered at the sight of people belittling, bullying, or hurting other people. This is especially true for people he cares about. Aside from these points Eric is a very empathetic and emotional man, though he does have trouble conveying those emotions sometimes.

Bio: The beginning years of Eric’s life were about the same as any other child. A goo-goo here, a gah-gah there, nothing too interesting. Once he gained sentience and started to piece together who he was and who he wanted to be, however, he started to build quite the man. His father was an avid drinker, and an angry one at that. Even after Eric had long outgrown his fathers beatings, he still feared him until he started targeting his mother instead. One trip to the hospital later and his father suddenly wasn’t at the house much anymore, and not too long after left entirely.

This wasn’t a huge issue, though. By the time he’d finally stood up to him he was already 16, so he could quickly start work and help his mother pay the bills. He started working in construction, his large stature making the manual labor aspect of the job easy for him. By the time he was in his 20s he’d been in the construction business for a while and finally worked his way up to a Contractor position. However, it required that he move to a bigger town. So, he told his mother he was taking it, and moved out of the house towards new horizons. Who knew these new horizons would be an apocalypse of crazed cannibalistic monsters.

He's about 6'5 and 380 pounds. He wears an old wrestling mask with a lion motif that leaves his mouth open.

Name: Sam 'Lionheart' Owens

Age: 64

Skills: At one point he was known as one of the best technical mat wrestlers in the business, and while those days are long behind him, he can still put up a fight if need to. Never one to pick up another vocation, Sam has some skill in showmanship and getting peoples attention.

Bio: If you were a wrestling aficionado back in the 1980s, you'd heard about a young up comer by the name of Sam Owens, nicknamed the Lionheart for the ferocious looking mask he wore to the ring. The dirtsheets called him a technical marvel who could wrestler with the best of them and anywhere in the world. It didn't take long for him to get signed to one of the biggest promotions in the US. The 80s rolled into the 90s and while older he could still deliver in the ring.

But then the injuries started to pile up. Drugs, booze, anything to take the edge off doing everything to stay relevant in a world that was doing its best to pass him by. By the start of the apocalypse he was as washed up as they came, heading towards a tiny venue with a promise of an easy pay day.

Carmen.png

Name: Sister Carmen de Leon

Age: 35

Skills: Carmen is a calculating, shrewd woman with razor sharp wit and cunning. A survivor of a rough childhood, along with being a missionary in war-torn area has prepared her for the new world. The way people see her currently is an act. She speaks soft words, seems meek, but it's all a survival strategy. Her number one goal is to keep herself and those close to her alive. She can justify any action if she gives herself enough time to think on it. She is also a woman of faith, drawing on it in times of need. One of Carmen's strongest skills is her planning and managing ability. She had been one of the keystones on the restoration and revitalization of the Theater and the YMCA within Faith.

Sister De Leon is also a stealthy woman, both when trying to survive the dead or blending into the background. She's also an impressive shot and can handle herself in a fight with the dead or other people. Besides this, Carmen can speak Spanish, Italian, Latin, French, and she recently picked up some ASL through the other residents of Faith.

Bio: Growing up on the foster system in New York, Carmen de Leon had to be tough. She never met her real mother, as she was told the woman was just a junkie. Through most of her childhood, the girl saw the good and the bad. Some families she was placed in were kind, loving. Others were abusive on different levels. She dreaded every group home she was sent to.

When she was ten, she was found by her biological father, Louis de Leon, and his wife, Linda. It was a rough transition, but Carmen came around to being raised by them alongside her half-sibling. Both Linda and Louis were Catholics, and Carmen soon joined them. When she found Catholicism, it was like a part of her was found. A purpose. A reason why she suffered and struggled was to find "the Lord." Almost right away, she knew what she wanted to be. A Sister for the church. She wanted to "light the way for people." She wanted to help them avoid the pain she had dealt with. Joining the Sisters of Mercy when she was 20, Carmen's journey started.

At 25, she went to war-torn Somalia. It was one of the toughest experiences in her life. She saw both the worst and best of man for four years. Her work was varied. Some days she'd teach, others she was a nurse or a gardener. However, the local warlord's presence was always felt. Her group was attacked numerous times, though luckily the security they had always kept them safe. That was until one day when things changed.

Eleven men with machine guns and machetes stormed the village, killing her students, a fellow nun, and one priest who was her mentor, Father Holt. Security fought back, but they were getting slaughtered. As one of the dead guards fell near her, she grabbed his gun, firing back, surprising the bandits. She killed two of them. The tide was turning as security guards rallied and all the bandits fell but one.

Something inside Carmen told her to find him, and she did, following him to his boat. He was bleeding, his leg was busted. The night was quiet as she took a deep breath and shot him as he begged for mercy. As she stood there, she realized why she did it. At first, she thought it was revenge, but no. There was a chance he'd bring back reinforcements. God understood, she knew. It was a war, after all.

After this incident, she was sent to Kansas City, where she ran a Catholic-based non-profit. She ran a food bank and supported local families in need. It was good to be back. In those years, she always thought about Africa. Carmen felt guilty that she didn't feel guilty about killing those three men. She had to do it, she thought. Who else would have? Who would take that weight? She never confessed, because she never saw it as a sin. Then the outbreak happened.

Joining a group of mostly priests and nuns at first, this group offered help to a local military. There, she met a soldier named Derek Cook. He would always flirt with her and she'd joke around and flirt back without really reciprocating. He was handsome, strong, and good at his job, if not a little bit of dumb when it came to social interactions. Ultimately, he was kind and so sweet but the two were only friends-- she had taken a vow after all.

One of the priests, Father Albert Yodder, was very charismatic and forceful presence. She worked with him in the past and he was not her cup of tea. He quickly rose to power, consolidating some of the army men and some of the civilians. A small cold war brewed for months. Sister De Leon worried, her gut was telling her to "cut out the cancer." But her fellow sisters? The mostly followed him blindly. She didn't want to hurt them.

One day, Cook confronted Father Yodder about how he was treating non-followers and rumors about Yodder's association with some of the sisters. The two fought and Derek was going to be killed, publicly executed. So, Carmen didn't have much time. Going to Father Yodder's private room, Carmen told the father this was a "bad course." That this would cause a rebellion. He didn't listen. In one day the execution was going to happen. He forced her hand. Turning away, Carmen pulled out a gun, killing Father Yodder. One of his followers and a good friend of Carmen, Sister Marcie, came out of the bathroom of the Father's room, revealed to have been hiding. Before Marcie could say anything, Carmen shot her.

Going towards where Cook was being held, Carmen tricked the guard to hand Derek over to her, that "Father" would like to see him. In reality, the two took off.

The next few months, it was just Derek and her. For a while, they drove a jeep. The "Hollows" started making herds, leading the two to go on foot. It was in this time that the two became a couple. Derek was Carmen's first kiss, her first boyfriend, first in a lot things. However, there was guilt. A lot of guilt. She broke her vow of chastity and as much as she loved Derek, her vows were important.

The two found the community, Faith, and they had a long talk after getting settled. She wanted to keep their relationship secret. It would be easier for her and for them to fit if they didn't share what happened in the past, or didn't know how capable Carmen was. Derek was annoyed, but she had saved him, and he
loved her. She promised Derek that in a few weeks, they'd tell the group "the truth."

But the weeks turned into months, and the months turned into almost a year, and the two still just sneak around. Since Derek had become head of security, he could sneak around late at night and nobody cared. Carmen has a room to herself, in the basement of the Church. Nobody liked going down there and she wanted her "own little area."

Recently, Derek had asked Carmen to marry him, and while she said "yes," she's not sure if she can fully let go of her vows.

—persona
personality:
withdrawn, a mere shadow that stands within the corner of the room, his presence often looked over by those around. most of the time, he’s overlooked and thought about only briefly. amir would not have it any other way. he does not wish to be perceived. having to deal with people is a task that he deems unbearable and it tends to show. his tone is often droll, uninterested in the way that he talks to people. there have been many times where his callous nature has gotten him into trouble with others. they quickly deem him cold or an asshole. it drives people away and he couldn’t be happier with the image he’s been stuck with.

his image is only worsened by the fact that he seems to have no filter. it’s as if he’s incapable of taking into account how he says things. hurt feelings and wounded pride are the last things that come to his mind, especially when he knows that he’s telling the truth. amir is the type of individual that corrects people in what can be seen as a condescending and matter of fact tone. he’s not afraid to tell someone when they’re annoying him, when he’s ready for them to leave. his mouth is truly reckless. though, at least it’s safe to say that he’s an honest man who can be trusted to tell the truth. though with his current situation he has learned to keep his mouth shut, to make sure that his thoughts are only known by himself. while blunt he is not as forthcoming with how he truly feels, now how he once was.

amir is so closed off because of his difficulty with reading people. he can never trust someone to be honest with their true intentions, so he tries to avoid interacting all together. from his place in the shadows, shea likes to observe and listen. his watchful gaze and attention to detail are admirable. he’s able to recall minor things that others may not. he’s been told that he has a bit of a staring problem sometimes.

He also carries: pop pop snappers & smoke bombs (for distracting zombies).

—history
bio:
18 months amir had what he thought was a normal life, maybe even boring in some cases. his story was not one of tragedy or loss. he was raised by both of his parents, janet, a daycare owner, and phil, a construction worker. their family was nothing out of the ordinary, nothing worth taking a second glance at.

his school life was even more unremarkable. amir discovered his love for baseball at a young age, games of catch with his father inspired him to join his local little league team. amir would spend his time with other boys his age, learning the ends and outs of the sport. amir made a few friends there and continued on to join his school’s team. in class he typically kept to himself, only ever interacting with two of his close friends throughout the days. his grades were average, he was passing and that was enough for him.

his interest in track came when the coach happened to see him at one of his baseball games. his speed as an centerfielder impressed him and so he urged amir to join. it was then that amir discovered his passion for running. he impressed those around him and became known as one of their star runners. his parents would attend as many games as they could, encouraging their son to follow his dreams and do his best. through working out and watching videos on youtube led him to discover parkour. and though it gave his mother a near heart attack to see him do such stunts, she didn’t try to hinder him.

life changed for him drastically during his second year in college. amir had been in his room when the outbreak started. he could hear his roommate through the thin wall that divided their living space, groaning and bumping into things before it went silent. amir had went to check on him, he hadn’t even gotten the chance to open the door before his roommate burst through, attacking him viciously. his teeth snapping and hands grabbing to try and grab amir. he fought him off, pushing him back into the room and closing the door, locking it with the key that had fell from his roommate’s pocket.

to his horror outside wasn't any better and chaos reigned as people were attacked. amir knew that something wasn’t right. he watched as one man was bitten, his throat ripped out before standing right before amir’s eyes. he was careful as he made his way to one of his friends’ dorms. the two of them had ushered amir in as they tried to figure out what was going on. calls to their parents were made and they watched the tv in hopes of figuring out what was going on. they could only listen as they were told to stay where they were. with a shaky voice he assured his mother that he was okay.

amir doesn’t remember how long they stayed on campus, waiting for help or any sign of what was going on. before long the power went out and as hunger set in their were forced to find food. amir had been careful, so very careful in order to not attract the monster. he never went out into the open and was always aware of his surroundings as the got what they needed. but it had only taken a tiny mistake, the sound of a phone going off to alert the creatures. amir watched as his friend went to hastily turn off his device, only to be snatched before he could utter a world. for the first time in his life amir knew loss.

he was even more careful then, along with his remaining friend. the two of them developed a plan, a set of techniques to get what they needed safely. months passed and they were rescued and sent to a ”safe” zone nearby. amir was tearfully reunited with his parents. and life was okay for a little while. he was never able to forget what went on on campus, so stop the mannerisms he had developed over time.

amir can remember waking up during the early morning to noise in the home they'd been given. he didn’t waste any time in going downstairs and watching as his father was overwhelmed by the monster, they made eye contact and amir grabbed his mother. he locked the two of them into his room. amir hugged his mother as they cried, huddled against the door as the undead beat against it. and as to his horror he watched as his mother revealed her upper arm to him, a large bite mark on her otherwise clear skin.

amir had no choice. his mother had urged him to grab everything that he could before fleeing, to save himself. she refused to let him stay with her, she wouldn’t hear a word of it. he could only listen as she left the room, leading the undead out and closing the door behind her. for the longest time amir stayed there, still save for the sobs that shook his body. he had cried until his head had hurt and he could cry no more. slowly, finally he got up and collected his things. he left the house, using the skills he’d learned on campus to get around the area.

he’d come across his friend once again, the two had kept up with each other as they were relocated to the safe zone. but his friend was not as he remembered him. as amir watched him on the ground, surrounded by blood as he was eaten alive, he could only turn and run. amir left the area, picking up things along the way in order to survive. when alone he practiced his shooting from a gun he’d gotten from the body of a dead police man. At night he slept in places high up, where no one could reach him. amir spent his time scavenging, simply surviving with no real destination on his mind.

Name:  Julianna Stonebridge

Age: 27

Skills: Drawing, Painting, Appraisal, Artifact Handling, Dancing, Knife and Tomahawk Throwing?, Nursing Certification, Medical Training

Bio: Julianna was local born and bred, living her entire life in the midwestern United States, supposedly in what was basically the same land her ancestors had lived in. While her father had grown up on a reservation and strived to keep their culture alive, Julianna herself was trying to just live in the modern day surrounded by people that loved to poke fun at anyone who was even a little different. With cultural erasure being a problem for her family, she grew up being reserved but proud of her heritage, actively seeking out ways to acknowledge her people while still maintaining an awareness and comfort with the here and now.

In her youth, she loved her father's stories, and enjoyed listening to them as often as possible. A trait that she carried on into her adulthood, so much so that when she had her own daughter the tradition of telling stories was strongly encouraged. Julianna grew up working in her the indigenous people's museum that her father opened, so her culture was always so close to her. When she reached adulthood and began pursuing her career in nursing, she realized just how hard her father had been working to immortalize who they were. What was in their blood.

During her early twenties, she began running programs through the museum to encourage the public to engage in their culture and traditions, to spread awareness that these aspects of their lives that went back so many generations were at risk of disappearing. It went well, for the most part, and she ran and organized many events, usually with great turnouts. She was always certain to include her daughter, Calliope, in such events to instill in the next generation the importance that her father had barely managed to instill into her.

Unfortunately, things began to sour, and when it rains, it pours. First, the museum began to go under thanks to her father's failing help. Then, her then ex boyfriend and the father of her child was suddenly causing problems. The drama and difficulties began to affect her job and personal relationships. Then the icing on the cake of ruin, the dead suddenly started coming back to life and eating everybody.

On the other hand, Julianna was fortunate enough to find sanctuary in a small community just south of where she had spent most of her life. Since arriving a short time ago, the obvious goal was simply to survive. It wasn't just her culture dying now. It was everyone's.

Calliope Stonebridge

Age:
7 (1/2)

Skills:
Drawing, Singing, Dancing, Story Officuanado, Sling and Blowdart Proficiency, Mouth Harp Skills, Ukulele Savant, Hide and Seek Pro, Pretty Good with Plants, Expert in all things Knock-Knock Joke

Personality: Calliope is a sweet and caring young girl that approaches the world with wide eyes and open arms. Her extroverted nature lends toward an outgoing and generally carefree attitude that does not well match the more serious and concerned disposition of her mother. She is smart, and due in no small part to the ending of civilization, she is growing up very quickly.

Bio: Calliope was born in a small town in Indiana, a historical town that her mother and grandfather had tried to blossom into a hub for native american cultures. Her outlook from infancy was one of understanding and a desire to hold onto the past. Even in her young age, Calliope understands the importance of remembering who we are as people, and engaged in as many of the social and historical activities as she could. This was somewhat hindered by the regular visitations with her father, who had a tendency to live so much in the now that he moved around frequently.

Calliope was a happy and adventurous child that excelled in her schooling and made friends easily with the other children. She was approaching the future head on with plans of being something important, only for the future to become uncertain and shrouded in painful mystery. When the monsters first came, she thought she was having a nightmare. Her grandfather's stories were sometimes scary, but they always held a lesson. But no matter how hard she searched, she couldn't find the lesson here. When she accompanied her mother to this new place, she was hopeful that some semblance of normalcy would return. Instead, it only grows more confusing.

Now in Faith, Calliope does her best to be of help when she can, and out of the way when she needs to be. The people seem friendly enough, and she strives to be a member of the community. She sees her mother worry about everything so much, she hopes that in time, maybe that hope will come back to her. Maybe this place is just the thing to do that.

Bio: She was your average high school junior, keeping grades at all A’s and taking college classes early. She wanted to be a famous director when she graduated. However, when the outbreak happened, she was forced to pick a different path. Her father, before he was bitten, taught her to fight and protect herself if anything were to happen to him. Her mother had died when she was 12 years old. Now she is living without anyone to care for her. She doesn’t really need anyone. But she needs a friend, for her own emotional state.

Soon he achieved this dream of rescuing others when he officially became a fire fighter and, the top of his class in matter of fact. He was stationed to a major city in Indiana called Fort Wayne, very different from his small hometown.

Though his day flipped upside down like many others in September 20th, 2014, when he was called in to put down a nearby building that was caught up in flame, turns out the whole department and firefighters of the city were called in to put down fires scattered across the city, though they were unaware of the undead that awaited them….

Soon about a year later he found himself welcomed into a safe haven, a church called faith. The rest is history.

He has been an offices member of faith since then and gladly loved by the community for his big heart for everyone and always getting work done when needed too.

Name: Cassidy Vaughn Mcduff

Age:
25

Skills:
Stealth, Scavenging, First Aid, Negotiation, Hand to Hand Combat, Marksmanship, Navigation.

Bio: Cassidy never expected she'd amount to much in life. She was born in a slum in Germany, a childhood of bastardization and broken dreams, stealing to eat and living to steal. Her mother always pushed for her to rise above her preset boundaries, telling her to go above and beyond than anyone ever expected of her. So she focused all of her energy into her studies, rising to the top of her class, and getting accepted into a University in America. She was hesitant at first when she got accepted, not wanting to leave her mother behind. Her mother wasn't going to let her pass up on this opportunity, it was non negotiable, she was going and that was final.

When she arrived in the states, she was expecting to find the land of opportunity, the land of the free was what she was promised. But, of course, this was at the start of the outbreak. She was at the airport when everything happened. Cars crashing, crowds screaming, and scores of the undead acting as agents of chaos.

Today, she drifts from community to community, never really belonging anywhere.

Aerolyn is 5’6, with emerald green eyes.

Name: Aerolyn Barnett

Age: 24

Skills: While she wouldn’t call herself a extreme markswoman by any stretch of the imagination, she was proficient with firearms. Hunting and shooting were a way of life, and defense, in the mountains in Montana. She knew her way around any gun.

Hunting, fishing, and bushcraft were essential to the place she grew up in. Many times, they would rely on harvested meat from animals her family hunted to make it through a bad winter. As such, she became skilled at these various activities, and the knowledge saved her life many times in those mountains, and after the Walkers rose.

Tool use, building, and general mechanical knowledge were hallmarks of an off the grid agriculture lifestyle. While she doesn’t pretend to know everything, her general knowledge from her upbringing was important to live the life they did.

Agriculture was the main way that her family made money, and survived, off the grid. The focus of their ranch was mostly domesticated livestock, but they did also grow, harvest, and sell crops, to a minor degree. She learned a lot about agriculture from her upbringing. While, as with everything else, not an expert, she had enough knowledge to make things work.

Bio:
Before the apocalypse, Aerolyn and her family lived in outside a small town on a her father’s ranch in Western Montana on the edge of the Bitterroot Mountains. Growing up on a ranch, Aerolyn grew up accustomed the skill of raising and maintaining livestock of various animals, as well as becoming skilled with horses. The culture and life out in Western Montana on the foothills of a wild and rugged mountain range meant that growing up, she had to learn how to survive off the land. And she fell in love with that sort of lifestyle. While food stores and many modern conveniences may have been near her ranch, the winter’s were long and rough. In order to survive, bushcraft and hunting were essential. Often times her family had to rely on the meat they harvested hunting to survive points in the cold winter, when snow was so deep that travel outside of their home all but became impossible without the use of snowmobiles.

Due to this lifestyle, it was paramount that Aerolyn learned the ways of bushcraft, backpacking, hunting, and how to survive in the kind of country that was untamed and wild, where predators could lurk around the corner and kill sometimes before anyone would know they were getting attacked. And learn this kind of life Aerolyn did from a young age. Ever since she could head into the mountains with her father and shoot a rifle straight, Aerolyn was hunting, learning how to survive in the bush, and spending time in the nature she grew to love and feel at home and at peace with.

This kind of culture and upbringing made Aerolyn incredibly close with her family. They operated as one unit, happy and loving. She had the picture perfect family. But these good fortunes would not last.

Aerolyn lived with her mother, father, and younger brother. Early on in her life, her younger brother had contracted a rare case of brain eating amoeba when he was 11, and eventually died, with her in the room as he took his last breath. Aerolyn hit a rough road in her life immediately following it. She was only 13 at the time of her brother’s death. Her and her brother were incredibly close. They were almost like the best of friends. In her life, family was the most important thing. And with one of them taken away, she didn’t know how to cope with such a tremendous loss. After his death, Aerolyn’s father started to drink heavily, and what remained of the family was shattered. No one knew how to handle the loss. But her father went off the deep end.

This time in her life is shrouded in mystery. Aerolyn never dare speak of it. The memories are painful, and the scars, both figurative and physically, never fully faded. What she would talk about during this time is that they had to sell their property and move out to Indiana. Though, she isn’t too keen on details about this either other than her dislike of the state and her longing to be back in the Bitterroot Mountains on her ranch.

At some point after this time, the family became one once again. The demons were driven out. The peace and happiness only lasted so long. When Aerolyn was 18, she contracted an echovirus, which caused Myocarditis. The only option was for her to get a heart transplant. After this, Aerolyn struggled with rehab. Despite her struggles, her heart wasn't rejected by her body, and she continued to live. But for the rest of her life, she would need to take immunosuppressants, or else her own body would attack her heart, and kill it. And what’s more, she'll need more donor hearts after every so often to ensure she can live, as the donor hearts only last so long.

In the years leading up until The End, Aerolyn had been able to get right back to where she was before her heart transplant. Life was going well, and things were looking positive. That was, however, until it happened.

When the Walkers rose, there was mass panic in the entire country. But as society fell, Aerolyn’s family was able to hold off, for awhile. With the lifestyle they lived, it was easy enough for them to hold out for awhile. They were resourceful, and their property was large, and much of it already fenced off for agricultural purposes. Of course, they made modifications to the fencing to help with the new threat. While crude, it was effective. It worked out for about a year or so. But, it wasn’t much longer until things would go horribly, horribly wrong. Secretive as she was about some past problems in her family, this would be a point of contention with Aerolyn as well. Aerolyn refuses to talk about what happened to her family and how she survived. What she did say is she moved around a lot, trying to find the medication she needed to survive. She forced her to drift from place to place. As soon as she picked one area clean of the medication she needs, she would move to the next. But there is more to the story here then she would admit to anyone. Secrets became her one of her means of survival, as distrust ran high with her after what happened to her family.

Additional Note
Aerolyn, when wearing camouflage, uses anything with the
03AC3C33-7922-42DF-8014-C18EBDB77A62.jpeg
as that is what she had in Montana prior to moving to Indiana.

As far as weapons go, Aerolyn has four; a Beretta M9 commercial, a

a SCAR-17S with a 1-10x LPVO, and a Remington 870 Fieldmaster. The AR-15 has a suppressor.

Conrad's generally a straightforward individual with his words, not one to beat around the bush. Not being one to hesitate when someone needs help even if it means putting himself at risk. Despite his generally kind or stern features he can be easily irritable which can get him in trouble. Still, he can be easily approachable or so he tries to be. Conrad's the type of person that could live a happy life as a recluse in a cabin on some mountain somewhere in the middle of nowhere. He can be man of few words but he makes them count. Conrad's stubborn, and will do what he thinks is right despite what anyone else thinks. He doesn't hide his emotions well, it can typically be clear how he's feeling. And while most of the time he's as happy as one can be in the apocalypse, and trying to do what he can for those of the Faith community. Conrad's sitting on a pile of guilt, and every now and again it gets to him.

h

istory.

Conrad grew up in Fountain City, Indiana. A middle child of three, having both an older sister and a younger brother. They were a relatively typical rural middle class family. His mother was a postal worker, father an engineer. When Conrad was ten his father was sent to prison with a life sentence after killing another man in a bar fight. Their family would never really be the same again, but they hunkered down and survived. Conrad's father wouldn't take to prison life well, and ended his own life six years later. It was around this time that Conrad really started thinking about what he wanted to do with his life, and help support his family. This led him down the path to becoming a Park Ranger, he enjoyed the outdoors and had taken to rock climbing and hiking on a regular basis throughout high school. He practically spent more time at Hoosier Hill than at home. It really did help that he liked animals and being outside, but he wouldn't say he was passionate about his job necessarily. Still he was happy with it. And by the age of twenty five he was fully certified, taking a job as close to home in Indiana as he could.

Though plans change, and their family drifted further apart once the kids got older and moved out. Conrad's older sister Grace, got married and moved to Florida. The youngest of the three, Travis, stayed in Indiana but moved to the northern side of the state. Travis didn't do a good job of staying in touch. So Conrad was the closest, and visited his mother when he could. She did remarry eventually, so if nothing else she wasn't alone. But Conrad knew she missed her kids. Travis was a no-show and Grace only visited once a year with her own family in tow.

When the world went to crap, like, really went to crap. Conrad had been on a search and rescue mission, attempting to recover a family who'd gone camping and gotten themselves lost. Thus needing a small group to come out and guide them back to their vehicle. The team had lost contact with the local office and had thought nothing about it until they returned that night to find the carnage. Things got hectic quick, survival became the immediate objective whilst trying to contact his family. The phones and power didn't last long however, and the amount of dead were only climbing. For weeks Conrad was stuck with a few of his co-workers and some strangers, until finally he set out on his own to head home.

Sadly he arrived too late, his mother was lying in her bed long gone. Her husband still shambled in the bathroom nearby. A note was left on the nightstand addressed to the three siblings, explaining what had happened. Her husband had also been bitten, turned, and did the same to her before she managed to escape him, leaving the walking corpse locked in the bathroom. Knowing what her future held she took her own life so that she wouldn't come back. The note was split into several pages, and the one addressed to Conrad she asked that Conrad go look for Travis, while also informing the man that she'd lost contact with Grace when the phone lines went down, but that his sister and her family had been taking shelter with the military at the Raymond James Stadium at the time.

After her death Conrad wasn't sure what to do, but after days of deliberating the man worked himself up to start heading North to look for Travis. It wasn't until he got to Fort Wayne that things took a turn. The man was searching through a home for food when someone had gotten the drop on him, Conrad never saw them, didn't know why they'd done it. Only the sound of the gun going off, the pain in his shoulder, and his head hitting the counter as he fell. By the time he woke up he was in a comfy bed, bandaged and fixed up. The story goes that a few members of the Faith community who were out on a run, heard the gunshot and investigated. Finding Conrad bleeding and unconscious, everything he'd had was gone including his own gun. So they brought him back to see if he could be saved.

Since then Conrad feels a debt to the community that saved him and works hard to keep it safe. Still, a part of him yearns to leave and seek out Travis, feeling a sense of guilt for not doing so.

Most of Conrad's skills come from the training or schooling to be a Park Ranger. He has a bachelor's degree in Conservation Science, and he's certified for CPR and First Aid. Conrad's also had firearm training. He specialized in Search and Rescue due to the fact that he'd Rock Climb in his downtime, skills which were occasionally useful. Conrad also attended defensive driving and fishing and wildlife coursework.

  • 5’9 ft tall, 166 lbs
  • Plain black workout clothing & earplugs to muffle background noise

Name: Jet Garcia

Age: 24
Gender: Male (he/him)
Sexuality: Fluid

Skills: First Aid Training, Stealth, Formal training as a boxer through high school and into adulthood (primarily a hand-to-hand combatant), Can operate a gun (varied success), Seamster, fights with a firefighter's axe

Bio: (What the character did before the apocalypse and a little bit about what’s happened to them after. Feel free to keep it brief if you’d like.)
Jet’s parents were successful film executives, co chairs of their personal production company. This led to a rather estranged relationship between them and Jet throughout his youth (later adulthood). Being an only child he was given every opportunity to succeed as a method of absolving his parent’s guilt of their absence. When Jet began to show prowess in his youth as a fighter he was afforded every luxury to hone the skill, carrying him through to college on a sport’s scholarship. Taking the first chance afforded to him Jet left home and moved cross country to Fort Wayne, cutting all ties with his family and starting anew. Prior to the apocalypse he suffered a traumatic injury during a fight which left Jet suffering from hyperacusis as well as bedridden. Living alone off campus he was isolated during the first stages of the epidemic and quickly adapted to surviving. Due to his sensitivity to noise Jet has avoided larger encampments of survivors and remains alone, setting up camp in abandoned hotels/apartments throughout town.
