Description: Marechal Seralacroix is fifty-nine years old, standing at a middling height of 5'10", with a commanding gravitas of presence. Her once flowing raven-black hair is now streaked with silver and pulled back into a severe bun, revealing sharp, penetrating eyes that hold both intelligence and the weight of experience. D'Aubigne's attire is a blend of military precision and noble refinement – tailored uniforms with carefully placed decorations and a touch of regal elegance. Years of military service have bestowed her with a strong, well-toned physique, which she carries with grace and purpose.

Her loyalty to Édencour is as firm as the rock-ridge granite of her home Alvergne, the city of her birth. Almost equal to this is her dedication to the Gear Alliance and the concept of the Balance Treaty; a champion of "peace in our time" she is firm in her conviction that continued external conflict can do nothing but ruin the prospects of her beloved city and the nation at large, by sparking the fires of internal struggle. A fire that grows on the fuel of the reactionary and radical tendencies. Staying above both sides has, ironically, created a side of its own -- titled the Front of National Salvation; a veterans organization where civilian supporters, bureaucratic subordinates, and political allies of the Marechal have gathered to help her in the job of governance.

Geography and Architecture​

The subterranean realm of Édencourt was situated beneath the sprawling woodlands and river valleys of three separate mountain ranges which became known as the Spines. Its inhabitants constructed an intricate network of tunnels and caverns; growing from a loose confederation of village catacombs to a multi-level industrial metropolis. The architecture of Édencourt seamlessly blended natural rock formations with finely chiseled stonework. Stalactites and stalagmites were incorporated into grand halls and thoroughfares, creating an otherworldly aesthetic that combined the organic with the man-made. In the most recent era, many of the original stonework buildings have become decorated in finely crafted metalwork, ranging from iron, silver, and even gold.

Society and Culture


The society of Édencourt developed a stratified class structure, predominantly dealing with how high above or deep below you lived in the city. The ruling elite, known as the Raels held positions of power akin to foreign monarchs. They governed from an opulent terranean palace adorned with precious gems and metals sourced from the depths of the Earth.

Beneath the monarchy were the Noblesse, a larger class of aristocrats that was responsible for managing the various administrative functions of the civilization. They oversaw everything from resource distribution to cultural events, striving to maintain harmony within Édencourt.


Thirdly came the Bourgeoisie, who were land-owning and business-operating, contributing to the industrial powerhouse that the underground state would become in the coming decades. Apart from both, occupying a niche between them, the Citoyen's existed. A class made up of both the nobles and the bourgeoisie, the Citoyens were trained specifically to commit themselves to the art of armed conflict.

The largest segment of the population consisted of the laboring class, Travailleurs, called those who toiled in the underground forges, farms, and mines that sustained the civilization. These individuals lived in communal dwellings carved into the cavern walls, reflecting the challenging yet tightly-knit nature of their lives.

The Monarchy era heavily influenced the cultural scene of Édencourt by seeking outside its own borders for experience. The subterranean society reveled in artistic expression, producing captivating works of literature, music, and visual arts directed from the top down. Elaborate theaters hosted performances that emulated the grandeur of foreign opera and drama, featuring stories that often mirrored the challenges and triumphs of life beneath the surface.

Portraiture and sculpture were highly valued, with renowned artists capturing the likenesses of influential figures and common citizens alike. The underground galleries and museums housed exquisite pieces that celebrated both the unique heritage of Édencourt and the broader artistic movements of the Monarchy centuries.

Economical and Magilogical Achievements ​

Thanks in part to the Republican era, Édencourt has begun boasting an array of advanced magicologies that set it apart from the surface world. Luminescent crystals were harnessed to provide illumination, while sophisticated fans, blowers, and ventilation systems ensured a steady flow of fresh air. Complex hydraulic machinery powered elevators and transportation within the tunnels, enabling efficient movement throughout the subterranean city.

A remarkable achievement of Édencourt's magilogical prowess was its intricate communication network. Crystal-powered communication devices resonate at certain heat levels, allowing citizens to send messages instantaneously across vast distances, contributing to efficient governance and social connectivity.

Military and Politics​

The Monarchal Era and the Armée-Raels
The Royal Army (Armée-Raels) was the principal land force of the Édencour Monarchy. It served the Alvergne dynasty from the reign of D'Gualle The First in the mid-millennia to that of Laval the Xth 40 years ago, with an interlude regency and temporary restoration 21 years ago. When the Monarchy was dethroned following the Spring Revolution, the Armée-Raels found itself relabeled the Republican Guard. During its many generations of service, the Royal Army became a model for the new battalion system that was to be imitated throughout The World from the Republic era onward. It was considered one of the smallest, but most professionally powerful armies in the world for much of its existence. When D'Gualle the XIV came to the Édencourt throne he inherited a large but loosely organized force of about 70,000 men. Like the other World armies of the period, it consisted of a mixture of mercenaries, guard units, local militias, and levies conscripted only for specific campaigns and then disbanded. Organization, cohesion, training, and equipment were not of the highest standard.

The Royal Army in Action
Under D'Gualle's two Secretaries of War Marrok Séraphin and his son the Marquis de Guérin, the Alvergne Royal Army was restructured into a highly disciplined and professional force made up of permanent regiments under central control. Weapons, promotions, drills, uniforms, and organization were improved or introduced and the army nearly doubled in size to 140,000. When D'Gualles' father, D'Gualle XIII, died, Aurélie of Côté, the queen, became regent. She and her chief minister, Legér Pan, ordered the arrest of legislative opponents, causing the enmity of many nobles and common citizens. With the bloody War in the Overland a constant focus since time immemorial (La Guerre Eternelle) in which Édencour had sided with two other elemental factions (The Gear Alliance) against other elementals, was paused for initial discussion on the Treaty, which the Monarchy rejected unilaterally -- the time in between was used in an ambitious but poorly executed surprise attack along the frontlines that renewed the war in earnest.


Collapse of the Monarchy and the Royal Army
The greatest victory of the surprise attack by Édencour was when Monarchy troops led the charge through the trench breach (known as a Forlorn Hope) at Redoubt #9 during a major siege, which moved the frontlines forward a mere 6 kilometers at a cost of 7,000 casualties. In a single generation, the political balance in Édencour had shifted. The aristocracy had become despised by many lower-and-middle-class citizens who faced famine in the past two winters, an increasing likelihood of being conscripted, and almost no political freedom. At an earlier stage in his reign, D'Gualle had succumbed to pressure from the Noblesse and banned promotion to officer status from the bourgeoisie-class serving in the Monarchy Army. This measure served to embitter long-serving non-commissioned officers who could no longer aspire to reach commissioned rank, although the demands of regimental discipline and training still fell heavily upon them. Some of the now almost entirely aristocratic officer corps were still dedicated professionals but many neglected their responsibilities, preferring to spend excessive periods of leave as courtiers at court or on their upper-tier estates.




Many soldiers sympathized with the masses from which they were drawn, and increasing numbers deserted in coming years. The bulk of the rank and file of the Citoyens: which made up most of the rank-in-file of the armed forces refused to obey their officers at a crucial point in the early stages of the Spring Revolution. Some Citoyens joined with roving mobs of Travailleurs in late Autumn and participated in the storming of the upper tiers of the city, into the heart of the Alvergne dynasty. Among those who held sympathies for both sides, was Duchess D'Aubigne Seralacroix, a Colonel and junior Adjutant in the Monarchial General Staff. She was of the city, and while a Noblesse she only used the military forces at her disposal to enforce the rule of law, fighting the chaos from mobs on both sides of the riot.

I really like
The only side note I have is all the factions (except tech) relies on their magic and not on technology
So weapons are usually just magic made things
Most factions are more dark age like
Tech is steampunk
Stone and fire are somewhere in between
So the lights and stuff are allowed just don’t get too advanced with it

To provide a peek, here is a TL ; DR on the images and history mentioned above. I will rely less of recognizable technology is posts, and do a kind of medieval alchemic equivalent for when its mentioned, to fit the theme you'd like portrayed. I have entries missing still, but have used type-setting to format the posts with the images I do have already available. Now, I just need to copy paste the lore into where the images and type-setting is and viola. I do intend to mention the spider like stone scuttlers in the post, just as soon as I find more time to edit. Let me know what you think.

The stone faction aka Edencour has been at conflict with the other factions at one time or another, never truly knowing peace. This was remedied by a very autocratic Monarchy that was effective for most of its history but became bloated bureaucratically and dipped deep into tyranny towards the end of its reign. There were protests, riots, and eventually a revolt led by the lower socio-economic classes with assistance from portions of the military.

A new government was cobbled together into a Republic with its suppoters among those who ousted the Monarchy. The army at this time was fractured into Monarchy Restorationists, Republican die-hards, and a large Neutral faction that had either remained in their garrisons during the overthrow or acted as a police force, assisting no particular group but preventing chaos. The current character headed that Neutral Faction, which was eventually absorbed into the Republic's military, which was severly reduced in power and effectiveness to make it subservient to the Republic's congress.

The Republic provided a more politically free society, but it lacked the social order and stability of the Monarchy. Every problem solved presented two new ones and nothing could be done to keep up with constant demands from all sides which grew fires of resentment. These fires became a blaze that engulfed Edencour: political assassination, terrorism and street battles became commonplace. Martial Law was declared. But was used by a group of General Staff officers to disarm and arrest both the Republican government and the Royalist Restorationists. A series of pitched battles were fought, and acted as the climax to this whole drama.

This was led by a certain General, who was elected by the General Staff, was declared a Marechal, and would lead this military junta to enforce order from the heights of Endecour's mountain peaks, to its deepest cavern depths. A new government was instituted. Elections were held, but the Marechal held veto power to dismiss any of the elected candidates who proved to be too Monarchist or too Republican. The army, the state, and the society was reorganized into a hybrid of the old regimes; a fusion of the Monarchy's conservatism and the Republic's progressivism. The Sublime State of Edencour and its Marchael now reveal themselves to the world in this Balance Treaty negotiation.

Other info: Aether was part of the air faction’s military since he was a teen. He has flown many missions against the nature, fire, and gear alliance. While he has a strong dislike of the fire and stone faction. He does respect the tech faction for their ingenuity and the nature factions use of the world around them. He is a part of the atsálina mátia family. He has a blue atsálina mátia named hurricane

Air Faction
Living up on the large plateaus that lay in between the forests of the nature faction and the volcanos of the Fire faction, this faction uses their abilities to control the wind to fly over their enemies or between plateaus. They have designed gliders that allow them to fly longer distances with less energy.

Government
The air faction is split up into multiple families, each family owning its own plateau. When a ruler dies each family sends a representative to compete in a number of challenges. The family whose representative preforms the best become the new rulers.
The capital where the ruling family lives and the competitions are held is known as the Flying Fortress. A flying castle that is held up by air mages. The air mages who hold up the city are the most respected people in the faction and hold a lot of power over the ruling family.

They aren’t actual dragons because they can’t breathe fire. All the dragons listed are domestic but have wild versions that are darker colored. Known of the dragons are rideable.
