Name: Cassandra Valentine
Alias: The Widow
Age: 38
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Polarian
Position: Captain of The Leona | Former Navy Commander
Role: Captain

Strengths:

  • Highly Intelligent & Experienced: Cassandra was once considered a 'bright star' within the naval academy during her younger years, earning the respect and admiration of both her peers and mentors due to her vast knowledge of navigation, sailing, and military strategy. She is currently the youngest student ever to graduate the prodigous academy and was captain of her own ship at the early age of 20. She was made commander of the royal naval fleet at age 25 and served in the golden war that ravaged the stars for nearly a decade before eventually going dark at its conclusion nearly five years ago.

  • Combat Ready: Cassandra is a talented duelist and meticulous strategist. Her favored weapon is a rapier and for long range she prefers a rifle. She is not incredibly good with firearms but she is often considered an excellent shot by those around her. When unarmed Cassandra is well versed in hand to hand combat although given her lack of raw strength she can sometimes come up short when it comes to larger, heavier, and thus stronger opponents.

  • Commanding: Cass still possesses a very commanding and fierce presence, years as a military commander has made the woman very strict and thus she puts up with very little. While understanding when she needs to be Fiora is not afraid to make those around her submit to her command by any means necessary which makes her difficult to resit when she takes the reigns.
Weaknesses:

  • Alcoholism: After the war ended five years ago Cass has practically gone dark, abandoning her position as Navy Commander and going into hiding. The only thing that she hung onto was her ship which is permanently docked at the Spaceport with no crew to man it. It is here she resides and for five years drunk herself to death in attempts to dull her senses and forget the pain of what she experienced during the war. No one really knows what all happened back then but what is known is that is ruined Fiora, turning the woman into a shadow of her former self. She is prone to emotional outburst and tends to be off her game when she hits her lowest points, sometimes unable to even walk straight.

  • Violent: Partially due to her drinking disorder Cassandra is quick to jump to violence, even more so than she used too before she began drinking. She is easy to anger and will not hesitate to severely injure someone for even the slightest provocation. She is known to be extremely wrathful and with how she is now no one is safe from her icy fury.

  • Trust Issues: She is extremely paranoid and thus has a very hard time trusting those around her. She is constantly looking over her shoulder and fearing the worst; she even distrust her own family which makes her dangerous because of her solitude which is slowly driving her mad.

Personality: Beautiful, ghoulish mistress; She wafts in the gossamer threads of wordless allure, whilst stitching each meticulous furrow of a masque which divinely enshrouds the tempestuous belly of the beast. Immaculate craftswoman; An artist of a floating world untouched by time and marred none by the ebbing flow of ceaseless change. Deeply ingrained are her coveted traditions, opulent rituals whose eerie paragon is forever steeled, and willingly clandestine to protect each aspect of her lore from prying eyes and eager lips. Stellar graces enchant with vision and vibe alone, whilst her infinite supply of coiling charisma forces ones mind to yearn in delving deeper. She is the Alpha at the center of the pack, whose unrelenting authority is surrounded by the slathering of ten thousand fangs; To reach her bounty is to brave the savagery embedded within her very plasma, cells and atoms enriched to the core with a celestial ambrosia that is as toxic as it is mesmeric.

And yet by the time one merely roves her tranquil surface, they need not fret; she is refined, fragrant, soft, and exquisite like the petals of the lotus. Feminine, dominant, a wholesomely willing counsel to those who would need it, but impenetrable as the rare golden jade. Lain are the bedding of demons in the portion of his soul that remains unhinged in the darkness of decaying yin, and both hungry, and cunning is their discipline.

What was once silken and sweet morphs into the withered flesh of vengeful death, but in rightful sapience she keeps these dark forces at bay, letting them rot beneath the exoticism that is her impeccable semblance. Sleep in the profundity of solitude be she your ever loyal ally – your savior when times are ever grim, or be haunted by her shadow of plotting your ultimate downfall. An angel of art and pleasure; An oily serpent beneath the veil of betrayal. The elusively fickle silver dart, whose piercing tip doth coated in the ebony ink of silent affliction.

But alas there is agony within her soul; crying out for help as it drowns in a poison bottle of wine, killing herself slowly to atone for her sins.

Oh sweet little bird, how far have you fallen?

History:

  • Born into the Valentine noble family
  • Her Mother was a government official for the Royal Family
  • Her Father was in the military as a Navy Officer
  • From a young age Cass was obsessed with the stars and ships
  • Cassandra enrolled into the naval academy at the age of 16
  • Quickly outshining her peers Cassandra was the top of her class during her short time at the academy
  • She graduated the academy at age 20, making her the youngest recorded graduate
  • After graduation she was given a ship by her father, The Leona.
  • Cassandra became captain of The Leona and was often put on dangerous naval missions by the royal government
  • Cass got married to a noble boy and had a child with him whom she named Fiora.
  • After a few years of stellar service Cassandra was then given the rank of Admiral, giving her command over the largest fleet in the military.
  • Her husband divorced Cassandra because her life was consumed by her work in the military, taking Fiora and going to his home world to raise her.
  • Cassandra, prepared to give up her rank to reconnect with her daughter and husband was forced to stay after the Golden War began.
  • While fighting in the war the battle was eventually brought to the planet her daughter called home and Cassandra lost her husband and daughter.
  • After the war concluded Cassandra resigned her position and spiraled into depression. Her crew abandoned her, Cass cut off her friends, family, and fell into alcoholism.

Jaylene Scrivener
Alias:
Jay
Age:
19
Gender:
Female
Ethnicity:
Caucasian
Postion/Role:
Navigator
Strength:
Hardworking
Empathetic
Determined
Weakness:
Judgmental towards men
Too Selfless
Temper
Personality:
Before Jay's dad left her family, she was a gentle, encouraging, and helpful girl. After that, however, she became extremely judgmental towards men and became biased because she thought of them as dirty, unreliable and inconsiderate. Since the Scrivener family was in a debt, she had to go to drop out of school. When she was in school though she was very strict on herself and always had good grades. She also is athletic as well. Jay is a very hardworking young woman and is sometimes too selfless for her own good when it comes to the safety of others, regardless of gender because she can't stand "doing nothing" when somebody is in danger. She is very empathetic towards the girls, and seems to show a kinder side towards females at the then males. She doesn't like it when people discourage others who are genuinely working hard. She is fierce, determined and puts her whole heart into whatever she does, often making other people try to work hard just by watching her. Jay also can be very scary in school she earned the title demon girl because of her temper and over all harshness. But she does seem to have the qualities of leader. When it comes to romance, Jay is very dense and usually refuses to acknowledge it. She acts awkward and sometimes violent toward someone she might like.
History:
Jay was born in to a normal middle class family she lived with her Dad, mom and little sister. Things were good but then the money problems started and they became deep in dept. Her father then later disappeared and left them with out a word. She hated for him that and ever since kind of took a hatred to all men. As she grew up she worked hard to pay off all the money they owed but it proved to be quite difficult. Her mother was working day and night and Jay hated that so she dropped out of school to help her mom earn money. When they did get caught up it didn't do much for their living situation. They were still poor and had money issues but it was much better then it was before. She heard about this ship going to chase after some pirates and decided she join in and make some money out of it. Who knows is she met the right people and did a good job maybe this could lead to future opportunities.

Everything checks out here for what it is. I will however have too ask that you remove the 'second in command' role as something like that would need to come organically through the RP. Also, not really a complaint as much as a suggestion but i would change the FC if i were you. Instead of a 7 year old looking white hair anime girl i would suggest going with something at least semi-realistic that fits with the theme of the setting. That is all ^^

Ok I wasn't sure since nothing was ever said about it....so what do I put for postion and role?

Is she a navigator? Weapons specialist? Linguist? Sharpshooter? Engineer? Ect; what 'role' does she fill?
Oh I see second in command is the only role that has to be earned In the rp. Ok um guess I'll go with navigator then.

Name: Thayer Mahan
Alias: Matt, Dork, Dweeb, Foureyes
Age: 27 Years
Gender: Male
Ethnicity: Terran
Position: Recent Graduate of Naval Academy, Specialization in History and Tactics
Role: Midshipman, lowest ranked officer

Strengths:
Well-Read
A prodigious scholar and voracious reader, Matthias is the man to go to when you need someone who "happens to be an expert on that subject." No detail in his chosen field of military history escapes his memory. Often he will have insight on matters great and small, insignificant and monumental, backed by at least one notable scholar's works. His ability to apply this knowledge in response to any situation made him a dangerous player in mock battles back at the academy. It remains to be seen how this will hold up in actual combat.

Analytical
A mind as sharp as a new pin. Matthias looks at the world as a giant puzzle, with pieces just waiting to be put into the proper place. Everything from documents to the heat of battle is subject to being picked apart for the smallest relevant detail. Useful in settings both active and academic.

Academy Graduate
Not everyone can claim to have graduated from the most prestigious spacefaring institution. This comes with many perks, including a network of other midshipmen and officers. At times though, the academic background does paint a target on his back though, especially for those with something to prove.

Weaknesses:
Poor Constitution
Despite training at the academy, he's still no match for other humans in a straight fight, let alone beefier aliens. He prefers to survive on quick wits and determination, but when locking blades with a pirate, that will only get him so far.

Target of Ridicule
Some people are born lucky in life, some people were born charismatic, others were born with a "kick me" sign posted on their back. Unfortunately, Matthias is one such person, given the unfortunate lot in life of a favorite victim for bullies, jerks, and general assholes. While it's given him a tough skin and a resilience to some teasing, it doesn't mean that the hits will stop coming any time soon.

Socially Awkward
Not the suavest character to sail aboard the Leona. He will often have issues expressing his feelings, especially to those he finds particularly impressive. Easily flustered, particularly by women, he has a bad habit of stammering and stuttering when met with confrontation.

Personality:
A shy, soft-spoken young man of middling wealth and lineage, with no particular talent or passion beyond his quick wit and the history of all space. He nonetheless attempts to be sociable and is seemingly undaunted by his obvious failures and shortcomings. He is in most things an optimist, who delights in the challenge of a problem or puzzle unsolved. He is neither the picture of ideal masculinity nor the caricature of an academic but lies somewhere confusingly in between. His time in the academy served him well but did nothing to improve his inclination towards others. He is nonetheless driven by a sense of duty and undying curiosity, he goes forth as both an observer and agent of history in the making.

History:
>Born to a middling family on Terra Carpathia, a rocky moon which serves as an outpost and fueling station for those leaving densely populated space.
>Read voraciously, consuming every piece of writing that he could get his hands on.
>Desired a life of adventure and discovery beyond his small home.
>Grew up with two options off the small rock, the Navy or Piracy.
>Failed physical standards for Naval Academy.
>Continued to study independently, with a focus on the history of the Royal Navy.
>Publishes thesis on spacefaring naval power as a chief form of diplomacy to critical acclaim.
>Reapplies to the academy, still short of physical standards.

>Place in the selection process was buoyed by superior academic talent.
>Faced relentless ridicule from other cadets, for his low class, physical weakness, and favored status.
>Trains relentlessly at the academy to achieve his dream of adventure, making both friends and enemies.
>Graduating from the academy, he is placed upon a special ship for his trial run as a midshipman.

Bump his age up to 25+ as Naval training takes up to five years after commissioning. So he'd likely be 25-29 realistically speaking.

kKyWDfu.png
Name: Bryony Pollard
Alias:
Age:
30
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Felinid
Position: Lieutenant / Captain of Marines
Role: Lieutenant

Strengths:
  • Born Sailor: Bryony took to sailing like a fish takes to water. She has a surprisingly well-rounded education in most things nautical, having served as a Girl at the age of eight, ending up an Able Seaman by the time she was eighteen. She served two more years as a Midshipman before being sent to the Royal Naval College on Montressor, where she specialized in naval warfare, marine command and personal combat. Graduating at the age of 25, Bryony was made a Captain of Marines for two years before getting a formal promotion to Lieutenant.
  • Skilled Marine: Formally trained as a Royal Marine, Bryony is trained and experienced in the use of pistol, rifle, sword and knife for personal combat, as well as having the expertise to both operate and command the gunnery of a ship of the line.
  • Remarkable Physicality: As is the case with many Felinids, Bryony possesses considerable speed, agility and grace. She's naturally athletic, can scale a mast in seconds, and perform gymnastics without forethought or effort.
Weaknesses:
  • Disgraced: Despite being a member of the noble Pollard family, the recent spectacle she made of herself left her discharged from the Royal Naval, with little to no recourse for reenlistment. She became something of a gossip item for several months, and it will be another year or two before enough time and new scandals renders her safer from being recognized.
  • Something to Prove: Bryony firmly believes she is in the right and is determined to redeem her career at nearly any cost. This makes her inclined to not quit when she should, and makes her sensitive to critique. It also makes her somewhat obsessive.
  • Fragile: In remarkably good shape for a Felinid, Bryony is nonetheless a bit delicate by human standards. Her lighter frame aids her agility but provides little protection against hard impacts and it takes less force to hurt or break her than it does a human.
Personality: Bold, brash, charming when things are going her way and fierce when they aren't. Bryony was brought up in the noble Pollard family, giving her airs and graces that have served her well in moving up the ranks. Despite her natural impatience, she's rather good at displaying a cultivated professionalism and the kind of aloof disdain of a Royal Naval Officer towards boorish, undisciplined commoners. Given how much of her life she's spent aboard a ship, Bryony's done a very good job at blending in with the nobility she descends from.

And yet, on board a ship, she can be surprisingly friendly especially when unbound by the dictates of rank or command. Trusting your crew is as necessary as breathing when you're on a ship. Bryony tends to regard any ship she's on, and the people on it, as hers to protect and she can be surprisingly dedicated in their defense. After hours in particular, she can be as rowdy and full of life as any young life-loving Felinid. Yet the instant her duties arise, the cool mask of a Lieutenant with a lifetime of training descends.

History:
  • Born into the Pollard noble family.
  • Her Mother is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, based out of Montressor.
  • Her Father is a Vice Admiral in the Royal Navy.
  • She has a surprisingly well-rounded education in most things nautical, having served as a Girl at the age of 8, ending up an Able Seaman by the time she was 14. She served two more years as a Midshipman before being sent to the Royal Naval College on Montressor at the age of 16.
  • Her Royal Naval College training focused on naval warfare, marine command and personal combat and she graduated at the age of 21.
  • Her career as an officer began by serving as the Lieutenant of Marines aboard a ship of the line until the age of 23. She spent 3 years serving as the Captain of Marines aboard the RLS Endeavor, before being assigned to the RLS Conquest as a full Lieutenant at the age of 27.
  • Bryony served ably as a Lieutenant of the RLS Conquest until a year ago, when the ship joined a task force sent to crush the fixed defenses of a recently located Pirate Planet. When the Captain of the Conquest was wounded, Bryony assumed command minutes before a damaged pirate ship lost control and began to descend towards a colony on the planet's surface. Recognizing a sizable civilian population, Bryony disobeyed the direct orders of the Commodore in charge of the task force and ordered her ship to collide with the sinking pirate vessel. The colony was saved but the Conquest was damaged and the pirates escaped the entrapment the task force had placed them in.
  • She was formally court-marshalled eight months ago, dishonorably discharged and saved from prison only due to her father's rank and the admittedly honorable outcome of saving the colony from destruction.
  • After a few months of idleness, Bryony has spent the past half year trying to put together a ship and a crew to accomplish the impossible; find the truth of what happened to Captain Nathaniel Flint, how he savaged so many worlds and where all that treasure went. Such acclaim could be exactly what she needs to buy her way back into naval service.
