  Known as the Gods of Mountains, Dragons generally have a superiority complex. They believe that strength is absolute and those with nothing to give are useless. They vary in structure and abilities but their hierarchy is absolute. Through evolution, they are able to transform and look almost like humans with a few exceptions. They are known to hate Griffins but are pleasant around every other creatures. Believe it or not, Dragons are easy going and likes to fool around yet only serious when situation needs them to be. Although seeming unlikely, Dragons are one of the most patient and gullible mythical creatures around.

  Irish dullahan, also called Gan Ceann, meaning "without a head" in Irish, is a headless rider, usually on a black horse who carries his or her own head under one arm. The head's eyes are usually small, black, and constantly dart about like flies, while the mouth is constantly in a hideous grin that touches both sides of the head. The dullahan uses the spine of a human corpse for a whip, and their wagon is adorned with funereal objects or dried human skin. When the dullahan stops riding, that is where a person is due to die. The dullahan calls out their name, at which point they immediately perish. You can't stop the dullahan, nor block the road against a one – all locks and gates open to them when they approach. They do not appreciate being watched while on their errands, throwing a basin of blood on those who dare to do so (often a mark that they are among the next to die), or even lashing out the watchers' eyes with their whips. They are frightened of gold, and even a single gold pin can drive a dullahan away.

  Elves are cordial, friendly, and pleasant to be around. They're expert archers and are considered as the Conquerors of Forests. Elves are praised due to their eyes that could see from unimaginable distance and the accuracy of their arrows. They generally blend in very well if they hide their pointy ears but usually they live far away from humans as possible. Elves are graceful creatures and tends to dislike anything that they consider "ungraceful". However, they are long rivals with Fairies and have a strong distaste for Fairies as well.

  Fairies are friendly at heart though many range from being pranksters to being prim and proper. They live mainly in forests and possibly the reasons why Elves despise them so much. Fairies are probably the smallest of mystical beings yet the speediest due to their lightweight nature. Most hate the Elves for hating them but some are generally easy going and what not.

  Proud creatures of the Sky, Griffins are prideful and strong. They are family oriented and domineering as well. Griffins, much like Dragons, could transform to look human-like as they wish. They’re usually competitive yet at the same time, the "big brother" type. Their personality ranges depending on upbringing but most Griffins quite tough on others with high expectations. Griffins believe they are the strongest, contradicting what the Dragons believe thus the reason why they have a long term feud ever since...forever.

  The Angels of the Sky, Harpies are almost as fast as Fairies but not there yet. They are beautiful winged bird-like creatures that also may or may not hunt on innocent men. Harpies are known to be vicious, cruel, and manipulative. There are many female harpies and not much males thus this race is quite matriarchal. Harpies are quite possessive with their men. Once they find their consort, they never let them go. Harpies hate Sirens, maybe due to the envy that Sirens do attract more males. Nevertheless, the Ancient Feud still goes on even today.

  Known to men as immortal birds, Phoenixes could actually take on human forms. Phoenixes are known for their rapid healing powers and their immortality. However, they are not actually immortal but rather they can regenerate any part of their limbs that has been cut off. Their innate healing powers are the most of their specialties with a few special ones able to wield other fire abilities as well. A phoenix's biggest weakness is that they cannot regenerate their head. Their blood could also heal the injured but only once which is why many phoenixes are hunted and live in isolation in Volcanoes. Most are hot tempered and quick to anger but once in a blue moon, you might see an easy going phoenix. As fiery as their wings, they have a one sided hatred for harpies for unknown reasons.

  The beauties of the sea, Sirens are known for their beautiful voices that captures even the most willful men. As legend states, Sirens are mainly beautiful man eating mermaids that prey on innocent men. Vicious yet lovely, they're the reason why humans have been so careful in the seas. They are strong and willful, dubbed as the Royalties of the Water. They're fastest in water and it's rare to see one ever on land. They hate Harpies due to the Ancient Feud that turned the closest of friends turn into bitter enemies.

  Werewolves, like Vampires, could blend in with the humans quite well except on a full moon. They are generally very clan-like and hunt in a pack. Fast and ferocious, not many wants to mess with them due the fact that werewolves are never alone. Like many other mythical beings, werewolves are also admired for their self-regeneration. Their lands are marked though quite a few live peacefully among the humans. Werewolves and Vampires have a long history together as their hatred started way before the Ancient Feud.

The males are much larger than the females, their duty to protect the rest of the flock. In human form, the Owl Griffin retains his or her wings and is still capable of flight.
  
  
  HISTORY: A close relative of the traditional Eagle Griffin, the Owl Griffin shares many traits with their cousins, including their close familial bonds and shared hatred of Dragons. The feud dates back many millennia, the exact origin unknown by both parties. However, the Owl Griffin is much less aggressive toward the Dragons than the Eagle Griffin, preferring avoidance than full-on confrontation. The Owl Griffin is also one of the most intelligent species, known for their great wisdom. They are said to be good friends with the Sphinx clan in Egypt.

  DESCRIPTION: Tall and graceful, Aerith is a stereotypical example of her species. Her long hair is the exact same shade as the tawny feathers that sprout from her wings. Despite her weight, Aerith does not look as thin as the scale would suggest. This is due to her light bone mass that the Griffins evolved that allows them to fly in their human forms. Her irises are pitch black and it is impossible to ascertain where they end and her pupils begin. Some people tend to find this unnerving because it is much harder to read her emotions. Her pale skin is usually devoid of makeup, as Aerith finds it too much of a hassle. Instead, she likes to focus on fashion and dresses smartly, usually in a style where hipster meets Paris fashion week. Though most people don’t know it, Aerith has a small white ink tattoo of a triangle behind her right ear.

  DESCRIPTION: Full of happiness, Aerith’s personality is one of comfort and helpfulness. Her sincerity seems to inspire others to do the same, to follow their dreams. She is usually the first one to initiate conversation with another person, being very friendly and open in doing so. Even the most isolated strangers warm up in her presence, her infectious optimism and good heart breaking down their barriers. Aerith is more of a motherly figure to other people, genuinely concerned about their well being and overall health. If they have a problem, she will do whatever she can to ease their burden. Aerith is very sensitive to the troubles of other people and strives to help them find a better way. However, this can lead her to be a little nosy, even though it is just because she cares.
  
  
  When upset, Aerith becomes more quiet than usual, proof of her introspective thinking at that time. She has a tendency to blame herself, judging other failures as a result of her inability to help enough. Luckily, it doesn’t take much to snap her out of these funks. A kind word and a smile is enough to turn Aerith back into her sunny disposition. Perhaps her best trait and biggest weakness is Aerith’s loyalty.   BRIEF BIO: When she was born, Aerith was one of the most prized fledglings, being the first female in the last fifty years. She was raised by the whole flock, taken special care as she was the future of the species. As such, Aerith was very sheltered from the outside world and had only stepped outside the Pyrenees Mountains a handful of times. However, one thing that Aerith was aware of was the conflict between the Griffins and the Dragons. Though the Owl Griffin species had refrained from the more… violent disagreements, the feud still ran deep. If a dragon was seen around their territory, Aerith was forced to hide deep in the mountains while the males went out to defend the nest.
  
  
  It was in this way that Aerith’s father died. A rogue dragon had attacked their home when Aerith was twelve, killing him in the process. The flock mourned his death, but none more so than Aerith. When she received the letter from the school, Aerith knew that it was her duty to attend as one of the last female Owl Griffins. She needed to put the goodwill of her species above her resentment of the Dragons. As she bid her mother adieu, she was given one last piece of advice: “Be careful with your heart. It is your greatest strength and your most exploited weakness.”
  
  
  SKILL: Aerith has the power to control the north wind, affecting the colder air currents. She can whip up violent winds that drop the surrounding temperature 10 - 30 degrees. This is more of a close-range attack that allows her to wear down her target's defenses before she moves in.

  The wind was strong today. Aerith could feel the strain on her large wings, but she pushed forward. Mother said that she was needed at the nest, that it was urgent. It was rare that Aerith's mother request her immediate presence. Something must be seriously wrong. All of a sudden, a loud roar came from the distance. A dragon? she thought. It had been years since the last attack. Fear rushed through Aerith's veins, knowing her fate should the fire beast catch her. At long last, the nest was in sight with Aerith's mother waiting at the opening of the cave. She was quickly rushed to their hiding place at the heart of the Pyrenees Mountains.
  
  
  For hours, Aerith could hear the battle raging outside between the one dragon and five of the Owl Griffins' best fighters, including her own father. Eventually, a cry signaled safety for the flock, followed by a mourning croon. A member of the flock had fallen protecting them. One of the males stepped forward with a pitch black feather. Aerith's father was the only Owl Griffin with feathers like those. The young fledgling fell to her knees, letting out a high, keening call that echoed over and over by the mountains. She would never forgive the Dragons for her loss. Aerith swore that, one day, she would avenge her father and prove the Griffin's dominance over the sky.

Appearance:


Like most Phoenixes, Aurelia has natural medium length wavy reddish-orange hair. She stands quite tall at 5’8 and is quite proud of her height. She has a light skin tone matching her peach-colored lips. Aurelia was graced with dark eyelashes causing her dark hazel eyes to stand out even more than others. Blessed with a toned body, Aurelia has all the muscles in the right places. Due to her extreme exercise and excessive intake of food, her body weight never really change.


She likes to wear lighter cream color clothes on normal days and always lets her hair play with the wind. One rarely sees her transform fully into a phoenix but in that form, she takes on large fiery wings and tails that engulfs everything it touches to ashes. Whenever she’s with her other friends, she takes on a more hybrid form that includes her wings and herself on fire. It’s only when she’s in her human form that she doesn’t burn anything. The most attractive feature many says Aurelia possesses would be her smile. Her eyes smiles along with her lips thus her grins tend to be contagious as well.

Personality:


Blunt, rough, and arrogant, Aurelia is rather high maintenance and selfish most of the times. Being the youngest and one of the most talented phoenixes, she’s always ready to battle or fight to her death. Her warrior mentality causes much problems and without her family to hold her back, Aurelia could be a tough person to defeat. Easily angered, she is also just as easily distracted which dissipates her anger in minutes. Her mind rarely filters out words and if she can't say what she wants to say, she sulks and remembers until the time is right once more. Aurelia has a habit of blushing furiously whenever she's near the opposite gender and will compliment people as she views them. Her belief ranges from might maketh right and strength is above all.


However, her personality around others isn’t so bad unless you’re a unicorn. Sociable and truly believes that she is a gifted listener, Aurelia really goes out of her way for those she considered a friend. Her opinions might be rude but she really means well. She's generally fun to be around and a natural daredevil. Adventure-loving and rarely thinking things out, Aurelia is also a magnet for disasters and trouble. She hates being bossed around by those she doesn't know and refuses to listen to anyone who she deems weaker than her.


Although easily angered, Aurelia never acts upon her anger unless she’s challenged to a fight. When angry, she remains quiet and holds a long grudge, tossing out rude comments and snarky remarks. At the same time, she rarely apologizes for any mishaps and views it as a sign of weakness or defeat. She hates admitting she's wrong thus she could be seen as self-righteous and egoistic most of the time.


Skill: Most Phoenixes are born with the ability to regenerate. While their body may burst into flame, they are able to resist fire but they aren't able to control fire. Only a very few born every millennia is able to wield fire. Aurelia is one of the few that could control fire to a degree. She, however, cannot extinguish fire once laid upon someone.

History:


Rather than studying at academies like others, Aurelia was homeschooled her whole life. Phoenixes are a tight-knitted family that never really wander much outside of their designated areas. She grew up happily yet always fighting with her friends and family members. Due to all their hot-headed nature, conflicts comes and goes almost every hour. Because of this, it caused her to be outspoken and honest, a person who will always say what’s on her mind. Aurelia rarely associates with the opposite gender since those are rare so whenever she does get approached by one, she gets quite flustered and distraught. Aurelia strongly believes that Unicorns has done their race wrong and she should never associate with them though she never asked the reason why.


Being the few with special abilities other than the innate ones, Aurelia is viewed highly in the clan and is rather spoiled. She is treated like royalty thus she greatly dislikes those who speaks in a disrespectful manner. Her family is relatively functional and as the only daughter, she gets showered with love by both of her parents.


When received the invitation to harness her powers, her whole clan was wary but Aurelia was proud. She was the few chosen ones for reasons she did not really understand but Aurelia knew whatever her task was, she would complete it without fail. Failure is not an option nor is it in her dictionary.

The First Day at Laegora

Look beautiful. Keep your mouth shut. And go get them gorgeous!’ Aurelia repeated the last words her best friend said to her before they both screamed in excitement and hugged each other to keep from engulfing themselves in fire. She already arrived at the castle which seems quite desolated but brimming with green lively plants and bushes all around. She walked on the pathway with the other students who already seem to made friends of their own. Aurelia was determined to make friends and being homeschooled only made the girl more active and outgoing than normal. Usually phoenixes only associate with other phoenixes, it’s a clique kind of thing, but she was willing extend her friendship to other mythical creatures. She was fine with anyone really but those unicorns. They were rather unflattering if she had to say so herself. It wasn’t rare to see the girl talking to herself out loud as Aurelia extended her hands for an invisible hand shake.


“Hi, I’m Aurelia, please to meet you. I have greeting cards just in case you forget my name. Oh, look on the back there’s my face! Isn’t it neat?” She nodded to herself. It was the perfect introduction and she was quite pleased with it. Phoenixes are known for their hot-tempered and being easily distracted thus whenever names come up, they tend to forget it as well. Thus handing out cards was a good way for them to remember another’s name. She only had a few left since she handed most of them out to strangers she met earlier. She assumed their odd looks was a way to scrutinize how awesome she was which prompted her to tell them that she was in fact, pretty awesome. Too bad they walked away from her without telling their names. As she headed inside the castle, Aurelia looked around in awe. The inside was gorgeous, nothing like the volcanoes, it was actually quite human-like.


She took a good look and talked to the lady whom she assumed was the check in lady. “Hi, I’m ready to check in. Aurelia Scarlett Rose,” she said handing the lady her card which the lady then threw behind her. Feeling insulted, Aurelia was about to tell her off but she got distracted as she received pamphlets and the lady started to warn her about being prudent. “So in there is all the important information about the dorms, premises, and rules. Read them, learn them, live them. Here’s your key and don’t lose it. And this is a lanyard you can use to hang your key. You’ll have one roommate and her name is also on that pamphlet. Any questions? No. Good, next in line please!”


Aurelia was quickly ushered aside as the next person stepped up for the lady to repeat the same robotic lines. Wow seriously? Can't you at least try to sound more excited?

  DESCRIPTION: Unicorns are almost always white in colour, but some can come in greys, blacks and sand colours. White is the most common of the colours. The stand with a strong built and can faster then the average horse. While each breed has different traits from having hair on there hooves to have long tails with only hair on the tips most look just like normal horses but with a horn atop there head.
  
  
  HISTORY: Unicorns used to be all around the world but mostly are found in the dense forests in England, Scotland and Ireland. The feud with the Phoenix’s goes back to a time that not many remember. While the Unicorns all know the reasoning behind the hatred many just have a dislike of them. Phoenix used to set forests on fire which caused the Unicorns to lose there homes and flee from the fires when they were hunting for food. This caused a rift and a small stand of violence would take place if either of them saw one another. Though Unicorns do not like to kill at this point in time they felt like they had too at times.
  
  
  ENEMY: Pheniox; but enemy is a bit of a harsh term considering the fight is more one sided. Unicorns are trying hard to focus on more peaceful ways considering there is a war to be had with the humans.

  DESCRIPTION: An innocent and pure, Nerys stand with good posture but seems to always have her head tilted to the side questioning every word that comes from someone’s mouth. When in her human form she has long snow white hair that is an untameable mess that falls past her buttocks. Her hair can be found mostly unbrushed but coming to the academy she has learned to braid the mass that is her hair placing flowers of the pastel colours. The unicorn horn is the only trait, that help show her race to others. While her horn can be hidden when this is done they slowly will lose all magical ability. No unicorn will ever do this.
  
  
  Her ears are much like a fauns, and can be very expressive when she is either sad; mad or happy. Watch her ears they give her away just as much as her eyes do.
  
  
  Nerys face is soft and rounded with skin that is pale without a blemish to be found. That is what is to be seen—you see Nerys has a wound on the back that will forever haunt her till she dies. This wound seems to grow with every passing year; but she stands strong and proud. No one will ever see her pain.
  
  
  That is the way of the unicorn.
  
  
  Nerys doesn’t wear much for clothing, considering when she is in her true form she wears nothing. Modesty isn’t something she understands and when she first starts at the school you may find her wandering the dorm room with nothing. Not on purpose of course.
  
  
  When she does wear clothing she wears soft colours like blue, purple, white—anything in a pastel colour. She dislikes dark colours believing them to be evil.

(Think of the way Luna Lovegood talks from Harry Potter) She likes to grow plants though and has a good knowledge of healing herbs. She finds peace when she is gardening or reading.

  DESCRIPTION: Innocent. That is the best word to probably describe Nerys whole personality. Growing up deep in the forest she has not had contact with many other people other then her family even then she can be found alone more so then with them. She always strives for more knowledge and will go into other peoples business trying to figure out what they are doing and way; asking one to many questions till the other party gets angered by her presence. When this happens she doesn’t understand people anger but will move away without feeling to hurt.
  
  
  Emotions aren’t as easy for Nerys to process or show. She lives in fear of the humans but this is the only other feeling she can truly captivate.
  
  
  While she longs for more knowledge Nerys is very polite and bows to almost every person she first meets.

  BRIEF BIO: Nerys grew up in a small herd of five. Her mother and father, grand mother and an older brother. She is the youngest of the herd but also the most trouble having wandered away from the herd in search of answers for her questions. Manly those that are associated with the humans and Pheniox’s. Though she longs to met other races as well—and hopes that one day she can come out of hiding in the forests of Scotland.
  
  
  As a child she was nearly killed by a Rogue Pheonix that wandered into there land burning a dark spot on her back. Unable to heal the wound fully it continues to get worse and worse as the years go by. Though many say this is the worst that could have happened, with her ability to create a force field her grand mother believes that her body is fighting the burn that is spreading from her back.
  
  
  She finds this mark ugly and always hides it from the others.
  
  
  When she received her letter to the Academy she was thrilled. The idea of going somewhere and meeting real people—how does one even come to terms with that? She is also terrified.   ]SKILL: Like all Unicorns Nerys can preform healing abilities. While they must be only just happened or not to fatal she can heal them with a wave of her hand. While she has mastered a few other spells they aren’t as strong as she wished. Her true magical ability is her ability to create a force field protecting anyone found within its radius from bullets, to fire. It takes a great deal of strength and when casting the spell for great distances she is not able to protect herself.

  “What makes us better then the Pheniox?” Nerys asked puzzled by the idea of being better then anyone. Hearing the words all her life no one seemed to ever clarify the real reason for the intense disdain of the people.
  
  
  “You remember when you got that mark on your back?” Her father spoke looking over to his daughter with an exasperated look upon his face. “They are the ones who gave you this mark. Even after the treaty which allows us to survive in relative peace.” He spoke dreading the words to fall from his daughters mouth.

  He flinched taking a deep breath and brought her into an embrace. “My daughter you are always filled with so many questions. I hope that at the Academy you will find all the answers you seek.” He spoke kissing her horn as a sign of love towards her.
  
  
  “Make us proud.” Soma, Nerys brother appeared from the dark bush of trees coming up to her with a grin. “If anyone gives you a hard time don’t hesitate to call for my help. We may be peaceful but I won’t let my sister hurt. Not again.” he spoke earning a quizzical look from Nerys.
  
  
  “I thank you brother but I have a feeling that it won’t be necessary. I can hold my own.” She spoke before taking a award breath. “Please keep me in your prayers.” She closing her eyes and slowly morphing back into her horse appearance. With one last nod to her mother and father she turned and started her journey towards the Academy.
