About this Role-Play

This story is focused on the struggle for survival in a world where humanity and the Titans remain deadlocked in a game of "who belongs where?"

Several nations worldwide have announced their intentions regarding these beasts, and they are as follows:

Due to the tensions brought about by the existence of the Titans, relations between these nations are nearing a boiling point and on the brink of total collapse. Even among the like-minded, none are immune either to the toxicity of in-fighting. Old animosity dies hard as Russia, the US, and North Korea are all at each other's throats over how best to handle the destruction of the Titans and who has the right to make the first move.

To compound the issue several shadow organizations, each one supporting one of the three stances, have begun to make their presence known. These organizations include, but are almost certainly not limited to, the following:

These Shadow Organizations constantly interfere with both humanity and the Titans in various ways. But none seem so egregious or nefarious as the efforts of APEX. Though unconfirmed, reports of mechanized versions of various Titans are being constructed by this group with the intention being to harness the power of the power of the original to create a superior and fully controllable variant. And the implications of these rumors not only has the world powers on edge, but also the rest of the world as more and more leaks and "reports" about the dealings of Apex surface on the web.

With so much chaos and back and forth conflict taking place, humanity is on the verge of societal collapse if something isn't done soon to level the field and find a sense of peace.

But what can be done?

Is there anything anyone can do to find peace for all amongst so much animosity, chaos, and in-fighting within humanity and the powers that be in some of the world's most powerful and dangerous countries?

And what of the Titans?...

The History Of The Titans

The first of the Titans were discovered back in 322 BC by none other than Alexander the Great who, at the time, was in the final year or so of his life and his reign in Greece. He and his forces encountered the dormant and seemingly mummified remains of a giant creature half-buried in the sands of Egypt. Despite their attempts to destroy it, their weapons would not penetrate its hide. But its body was warm and it breathed still, though very slowly. A temple was erected over it in the hopes that it would prevent the creature's awakening.

This Titan, now known by modern standards and nomenclature as Titanus Sekhmet, is a feline-like Titan resembling the Sphinx depicted in numerous ancient Egyptian artworks, including the Great Sphinx statue, sans the human face. She is also rumored to have wings, and as such as sometimes now considered a potential source for the creation of Gryphons in various forms of mythology and art.

Titanus Sekhmet has since been contained in MONARCH's Outpost 65 which has barred the temple from public view or access with local military support.

In 1224, the mighty conqueror Genghis Kahn and his armies discovered an egg the size of a house pulsing with blue light and energy in what is now known as the Yunnan Rainforest in Southern China. As with Alexander the Great, he and his forces attempted to destroy the strange object to no avail. Instead, they chose to erect a temple around it to shield it from prying eyes that they may one day discover a method for destroying it. However, that day never came as Genghis Kahn's death in 1227 put an end to any such plans. The temple was abandoned, only to be rediscovered by MONARCH in the 1960's.

It was not until the year 1940's that modern scientists and global military powers began to discover the existence of Titans once again. With technology, such as sonar, having made such advances possible the Titans were discovered around the globe at an alarming rate.

However... None could compare to the discovery of 1945 following the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It began with a rumor. Tales of a giant serpent with jagged mountains on its back swimming near the Hawaiian Islands and around the Bikini Atoll first surfaced on August 16th, the very day following Japan's unconditional surrender to the United States. Of course, such rumors were dismissed as nonsense. Floating debris mistaken as a 'monster' by children or the elderly whose sight could not be trusted.

But then came the reports from a US Fishing Vessel just two days later on August 18th. A report of a massive shadow the size of a small island circling their boat with massive jagged fins breaking the surface in a similar fashion to that of a shark. But hundreds of times larger. A single photo was captured of the incident, but blurred almost to the point of total obscurity. However, a single maple-leaf shape was identified near the center as the largest object in view. The following week the United States sent the Navy out on a covert mission to discover the source of these reports under the guise of Naval training exercises. And on August 24th, 1945, it happened...

The Navy discovered the Alpha of all Titans. A colossus towering high into the sky even with half his body submerged in water. Dozens upon dozens of spikes ran down his back and flickered with an otherworldly blue light, as did his eyes. They flashed and flared, accompanied by several low frequency grunts and tiny lurches of his head. On his face he wore a near permanent snarl, and after capturing hundreds of photos the Naval vessels retreated from the beast who then disappeared below the waves.

The United States born shadow organization, MONARCH, was established immediately thereafter to locate this creature, study him, and communicate their findings to the US Government by the direct order of President Truman. At the time Eiji Serizawa, Lead Scientists of MONARCH, dubbed the creature Gojira in accordance with ancient myths in Japan dating back to as early as 580 BC before Japan was even truly recognized as a country. Due to pronunciation issues with the American military forces working beside him at the time, an Americanized name was created for the creature. And that name was...

... Godzilla

With Godzilla now established as the first 'modern' Titan, news of his existence was kept with the utmost secrecy. Any rumors or reports that were made about him were quickly silenced and buried as quickly as possible to avoid public panic and discourse. And other world powers were alerted by President Truman of their findings, including images of the might beast which had been captured that day. And by mid-September of 1945 the 'threat' of Godzilla was very, very real. And it wasn't so long after the discovery of this Titan that other Titans were also being uncovered by archaeological excavation teams, jungle explorers, cave divers, mountain climbers, fishing vessels, and more all across the world.

The United States government began privately funding MONARCH to conceal and contain these creatures so as not to allow them to even awaken from their primordial slumber. Just one of them breaking loose to join Godzilla as a potential global threat was deemed too dangerous to allow. And so military personnel were directed to protect each site, dubbed Outposts, to ensure the Titans never saw the light of day. And as the decades rolled by the task of keeping them secret became harder and harder to manage. With the spread of the internet, and the power of cellphone cameras, glimpses of the Titans and the Outposts hiding them made their way online for all to see. And no matter how quickly the world governments and online giants like Google worked to conceal and suppress the spread of these images, they found ways to live on.

The mockery the world governments were subjected to as a result of the failed suppression efforts was deafening all across the globe. Entire forums even websites were dedicated to showing how incompetent they were to not even be able to stop the spread of these weird art pieces which were being passed off as "real" by the more gullible side of the internet. Eventually the decision was made to simply accept the criticism and stop the suppression efforts in the hopes that the skepticism would overrule the idea that the images could ever be real. And instead, slowly and discretely, they reversed their position and began making public announcements that the "suppression" efforts were not being made by the government, but instead were attempts by the original "artists" who owned the pictures to stop copyright infringement and the spread of their work without their consent. Pseudonyms and fake identities were created to support this narrative. And while not everyone bought it, things did calm down after a few years.

On May 31st 2019, a new organization was established in the United States known as the PPDP, or Psychic Persons Development Program. This program aimed to bring extraordinary individuals with psychic abilities, such as telepathy, telekinesis, preternatural perception, and more together to study their abilities and assist them in harnessing and controlling their power. It was the hope of the US government that these individuals could potentially aid MONARCH in its quest to study the Titans, and perhaps even one day control them. However, those plans came to a grinding halt with the advent of what is now known as humanity's darkest day...

The Awakening

On May 16th, 2014, Godzilla surfaced off the coast of Oahu and made landfall shortly thereafter. Upon reaching the center of the island his spines and eyes began flashing with blue light, and he released a burst stream from his mouth, now known as the Thermonuclear (or Atomic, for short) Breath directly into the sky above accompanied by a roar which shook the entire island and sent a low-frequency shockwave all around the globe.

Almost immediately the Titans worldwide began to awaken from their slumber, and all of the containment protocols and machinery was unable to stop them from breaking free and roaming the world at will.

It didn't even take one year for the death toll to exceed 1 billion, and over 8,000 cities had been levelled.

A decision had to be made.

But the decision couldn't be made as the opinions and beliefs of all parties concerned across the globe remained in conflict. Many believe the Titans to be the incarnation of Satan's spawn and need to be destroyed while others believe they're just animals looking for their place in the world. Others remain more neutral and believe that humanity needs to focus on itself and let the Titans be. And with this much discourse it didn't take long for the world to be split into factions. One wishes the Titans destroyed, one wishes to remain neutral, and one wishes for coexistence and cohabitation. Three factions in conflict, and not a single resolution or genuine agreement has been made since The Awakening event in 2014.

Today, the numerous organizations now work on their own and are independently funded, including MONARCH.

And with everyone out for themselves and just trying to survive in this world as more and more chaos and strife engulfs it and everyone around them, is there hope for a future with Titans? Or does one side have to give in to extinction?

This RP's Rules and Guidelines

1) No God-Modding, Metagaming, or Power Playing - Both participants of this 1x1 RP will adhere strictly to this rule, and should any control of the other player's character be done it will always have been done with the express permission of the character's owner.

2) Realism is paramount - Despite the SciFi nature of this RP, realism will be taken into consideration at all times (for as much as we can get away with it). Science (and pseudo-science), as well as basic physics will be in effect and used at times to explain how numerous elements of Titan existence and abilities are possible. Nothing will happen without explanation or the exploration of an explanation. If it goes without an explanation, it will be due to the limitation of realistic human understanding and comprehension of whatever happened.

3) Titan Control - GojiBean will be controlling the vast majority of Titans in this RP as NPC's and provide actions for them in keeping with their basic creature type, anatomy, and given abilities. In some cases abilities will be created for the Titans when other information online about them doesn't exist, and utilized for creative purposes to deepen the lore and provide some depth to the Titans themselves as living beings beyond human understanding.

4) Personal Titans - yutohase is in possession of a personal Titan called Hinotegenzon, or Genzi for short, who will be fully controlled by yutohase as a character, not an NPC. If for any reason GojiBean utilizes this character it will have been done with yutohase 's direct permission. For all intents and purposes, Godzilla will serve as GojiBean 's "personal character" in the world of Titans as Godzilla will have a pivotal role to play in the story which will require very specific actions and character moments to be portrayed.

5 Cooperation and Collabortaion - During sections of the RP where more involved scenes are being put together both participants will be regularly communicating and working together to provide joint collaborative posts where both had input and made additions before one of them puts it up for the world to see. In such cases, though only one of them is posting it officially, all content within will have been fully agreed to during the collaboration process and will not violate any of the above rules.

After the initial onslaught of the mysterious Titan having come from the depths of the Pacific Ocean just outside Seattle, many citizens were left to flee for their lives. The Titan hadn't even made it on shore yet, but the residents had just enough time to get out before it would eventually make it into the city. But despite these wary preparations to evacuate, many of the citizens did not notice throughout the panic and trouble certain tremors rising from below them and around them.

As the rumblings got louder, and louder, however, they soon became harder to ignore.

And then, a deafening boom.

And a roar, just as fierce as the one they had heard off of the coast, this time, emerging from nearly the opposite direction.

A great pillar of smoke and ash had arisen in the sky, and soon it could not be denied.

Mount Rainier had blown its top, and from it had arisen a beast, a truly massive Titan, which could be easily seen from many locations in Seattle. A tiger was how it could best be described, a large tiger, notably formed from pure lava and volcanic rock.



The Titan roared once again, much louder and more ferocious than before, upon spotting the rival one. Descending the volcano, a torrent of lava followed in its every step. Each growl and snarl the Titan made brought with it more flames and wrath from Mount Rainier, as ash began to fall across the city, along with the occasional lava bomb. Soon enough, the Titan had reached Tacoma, roaring again so the other Titan could find and recognize it. What it wanted was unclear to many, but those knowledgeable in Titans knew that they could be protective of their territory, and as such would stand off with other Titans once they would venture into that territory.

"Coming to you again from Seattle, with some more breaking news," the news feed abruptly came back on. "We've just gotten reports that the Titan identified as Hinotegenzon has emerged from Mt. Rainier and is on a path of destruction, possibly to confront this other Titan, we're not sure..."

Hinotegenzon's core began to glow brightly as it dug its massive claws into the ground, giving an intimidating stance as magma poured out from his claw marks in the earth. It seemed in not much more time, the flaming Titan would head north to face the mysterious Titan head-on.

The light through the windows of the plane darkened, and a shockwave struck causing unbearable turbulence as the plane violently shook and even began a momentary rapid descent before its course was corrected. Kasumi Okabe, Lead Behavioral Consultant for the Godzilla Research Team, Japan, looked out the window and saw the eruption of Mt. Reiner on the horizon.

"Are you all right, hun?!" Came a female voice.

"I'm fine, darling. You?" Came a male response.

Hiro and Amane Fuoka, founders of the Godzilla Research Team's Japanese branch, checked each other for any signs of injury following that harrowing moment before looking to the rest of the rest of the team.

"Is everyone all right?!" They shouted in unison.

Kasumi raised her hand and gave a thumbs up while the rest of the passengers aboard gave mixed responses.

"Everyone help any wounded next to you!" Hiro shouted.

Amane approached Kasumi and put her hands on her shoulders.

"Daijoubu ka." (Are you all right)

"Daijoubu." (I'm all right.)

Amane nodded, turning back to the other passengers to speak English.

"Did anything fall from the overhead compartments?" She asked.

"Not that we can see." A random male passenger responded.

She nodded, noting that all the team's equipment in the back seemed to be okay.

"Amane-san!" Kasumi called.

Amane was instantly at her side with both their faces pressed to the window as the form of Godzilla appeared below.

"Hun! He's below us and heading for the volcano!" Amane called.

"Has to be another Titan! Which ones do we know in the area?" Hiro replied.

"I'd need to check out files."

Hiro cursed under his breath as their files were stored only on their computers which were currently packed in the belly of the plane.

For now, they could only watch and hope that everything would be all right. With Titans in the area the airports would have been immediately shut down preventing a landing.


Godzilla's eyes locked on the volcano and the sight of Hinotegenzon standing near its base. The tiger-like Titan roared in warning to Godzilla, warranting a return warning roar from Godzilla which shattered the glass of every building within a five block radius of his position.

"Ooooooh no." Amane muttered.

She wasn't even looking out the window anymore. But from listening to Kasumi's recordings and reports, she knew exactly what this particular roar meant.

"Kiwotsukete, Gojira." (Be careful, Godzilla) Kasumi whispered.

Godzilla remained stationary as he stared Hinotegenzon. Rising up to stand at full height, and straighter than he normally would when in stride, he took in deep breaths to puff up his chest making himself appear larger as steam rose from the corners of his mouth a blue light flickered in his eyes.
