    the living tombstone

    overview.

    R
UN AWAY FROM YOUR FEAR & IT WILL CHASE YOU DOWN.

In the small sullen town of Hurricane, Utah people never expected the unexpected. It's better to remain ignorant than to learn of the nightmares that roam their woods. It wouldn't do civilians any good to know as it would disturb the perfect idea of a sleepy town they knew. To know that there is someoneโ€”somethingโ€”roaming freely amongst them and was strong enough to take their children without leaving a trace is good enough to make even the biggest sinner go mad.

OR YOU COULD HUNT YOUR FEARS DOWN, BEFORE THEY GET THE CHANCE.

The year is 1987. Carmen Beck just completed her senior year of high school, and has one last summer to herself before she'll be whisked off to a college out of town. She wasn't planning to work and save up money or anything like that, because to Carmen Beck, that would be extremely boring. No, Carmen intended to make it a summer to remember.

That's exactly what she got, but not how she wanted.

On June 1st, the first day of summer, Carmen's little brother went missing. It's a day she remembers very vividly. It was Cal's birthday, so they went to his favorite place in the whole wide world: Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. Carmen never really liked that place, the singing robots always sent chills down her spine, but Cal loved them, and that was all that mattered.

Five slices of pizza and two hours of listening to the worst taste in children's music ever, Cal was finally ready to call it a day. He was practically passed out in their father's arms as he was carried out of the pizzeria, and to the family's car. But, they had left some of Cal presents inside. Carmen was supposed to watch Cal while her dad ran in to grab it--she was supposed to watch him.

It was just a few minutes. For just a few minutes, Carmen left Cal in the car to talk to one of her friends that worked the prize counter. All it took was three minutes. When Carmen returned to the car, Cal was already gone. Her dad sent her inside to ask an employee to call the police while he fervently searched outside, but even with the help of the police, they found nothing. No footprints, no fingerprints, and no trace that Cal had been there.

It's safe to say this is the summer Carmen never wanted. It is nothing like the fun, carefree summer she had envisioned. Her dad swears he doesn't blame her for what happened, but she knows he does. And she doesn't blame him for blaming her. It was her fault. If she had just stayed by her brother, just waited for her dad to come back out before she went to talk to her friend, none of this would have happened.

Lately, Carmen has been having dreams. Weird dreams. Dreams of her brother, dreams of the pizzeria, dreams of those stupid animatronics... But what appears in her dreams the most is a yellow rabbit. She dreams of the yellow rabbit peaking out from behind the curtain, and beckoning her to follow him. Carmen isn't sure why, or how, but she knows these dreams are trying to tell her something about Cal, and his disappearance. She knows that pizzeria has the answers to all of their questions.

One warm Saturday night, Carmen returns to the pizzeria, desperate to find clues that will lead her to figuring out what happened to her brother. A few of Carmen's friends volunteer to go with her, which she's secretly thankful for, so she doesn't have to be in the same building as those horrid robots alone.

It turns out, though, that Carmen isn't the only one interested in what's going on at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria. There's other teens that have been having dreams of the yellow rabbit, other teens that have had a loved one go missing there. Together, Carmen and her friends, as well as the other teens explore the secrets of the pizzeria in an attempt to figure out what happened there.

The closer they get to figuring out what's going on at the pizza place, though, the more weird things that start to happen. Carmen starts to wonder if she made a mistake in chasing after the Yellow Rabbit.

WHATEVER YOU DO, JUST DON'T FORGET YOU ARE THE PREY.

You can add you interest here the head over to the C's thread and plop in a character. You can also hop into ooc thread to chat with the other people interested in the rp!
