Before you begin to make characters, I will explain how one is chosen to be an Exorcist.


As bizarre as it may sound, only those who possess a great amount of Sin in their Soul, 'their inner selves' having been tainted may qualify. This may be from committing many atrocious acts, harboring many negative thoughts and emotions, having experienced a painful death, or even all of the above, are chosen to become an Exorcist.


From those few, they are narrowed down further to those who are deemed to have suffered an unjust life, and offered a 'second chance' to redeem themselves and live anew.


This specific requirement is due to the nature of an Exorcist needing to be capable of standing against a Demon, who are impervious to Mortal strikes due to their ethereal form. In order to achieve this, the tainted Soul is allowed to reach the final stages of 'Demonization'. Just before the Soul is able to fully transform into a Demon, the point where they begin to form a body capable of existing both in the Mortal Plane and Spiritual Divide, undergo a ritual of intense cleansing called 'Kindling', whereby instead of sprouting out as a warped creature, they are 'reborn' with a purified body that is composed completely from the essence of their Soul. This also removes all the madness and desire that had corrupted the individual before.


While they now share the same weaknesses as Demons, they also gain the benefits.


Without being constrained by a mortal body, the Kindled are able to utilize the true strength derived from the strength of their awoken Souls, unhindered by the strict laws of the Mortal Plane. This means that all Kindled Souls are much stronger, faster, and more durable than they ever were previously. Aging also comes to a complete halt, in fact, the older the Soul, the more strength they would probably possess. But this also means all damage is now linked to the Exorcist's very life force, and though they can rapidly heal their bodies so much as they have the available essence to do so, this is the same energy that fuels their spells and weapons. (When an Exorcist the runs lower and lower of their essence, they start to experience, 'Soul Fracture', tearing away excruciatingly until they are nothing more.)


Though their most notable trait, is that these individuals grow stronger through 'Harvesting' the essence of the demons they slay.


This accents both their greatest strength, but should they fail, the most merciless damnation.


While these sacred warriors have been trained to resist the poisons of the mind, the hellish sights that they encounter frequent and the wickedness they much carry forth, even they are not impervious to the maddening temptation. Much like the Demons their bodies had been molded from, Exorcists may develop a craving for Souls, many learn to resist the urge, but a few don't and gradually become the very monsters they sought out to destroy.


-- Exorcist Training --

After successful being kindled, these 'Squires' are brought to Cathedrals and Monasteries built upon hallowed grounds, operated by a respective 'God' and the spirits who serve them. Here, the Squires undergo rigorous training to become full-fledged Exorcists. They are taught physical combat techniques alongside attending lectures on 'Arcane' theory (forms of magic), which is then further honed into 'Disciplines', each designed for combat with the Demons and their fouled kin. These massive structures also serve as headquarters for all Exorcists serving the 'God' and are hidden from the demon-kin through use of powerful arcanus emplacements that only allow those permitted to enter.


Upon graduation, Exorcists are then assigned. Some remain in the Cathedrals, but others are sent out to forward bases known as 'Chapels'. They are expected to follow the orders of the head Exorcist that resides there, but a god's command comes foremost.


While they are bound by their duties, an Exorcist is allowed to live freely.


Most of these spiritual warriors don't remember their past, their memories having been lost in the extremely painful process of Kindling, but a few are fortunate enough to retain glimpses and flashes of their past memories.


An Exorcist is free to create new ones and enjoy their 'fresh start', as they are still very human despite not possessing a mortal body. They can fall in love and learn to hate, pursue personal interests and hobbies, some even acquiring strange habits and tastes. But no matter how human they may feel on the inside, an Exorcist must always remember that they walk upon a dangerous edge between life and death, and that the fate of this very world and all it's inhabitants rests upon their shoulders.





  • "Blessing" - Spells and enhancements that amplify the affect target's physical attributes or grant them special ones. Basic ones can only empower one trait, such a strength or speed, but not both. However, stronger ones are capable of affecting multiple targets as well as increasing the number of attributes. Some are even able to absorb damage for the target.


    "Quelling" - Purely offensive spells that when uttered or triggered, tear the fabric of Arcanus.The effects and nature of the spell varies on the type, resulting to many different effects. A few examples is an enchantment that causes wounds inflicted to being unable to be healed rapidly or a bolt of powerful sacred energy able to penetrate tough demonic armor and magic.


    "Sealing"
    - Spells that aim to weaken or physically impair the targeted being, such as unleashing ethereal chains that restrain a demon's limbs or casting an flash of essence that causes a pack of demons to be temporarily blinded and disorientated.


    A basic tool, the holy talismans are a type of crippling spell, able to slow down and cause spark pain to a Demon as long as physical contact to the parchment is made. Some Marksmens are able to use special ammunition depending on what kind of demon they are fighting to increase damage and take advantage of weaknesses.


    "Aegis"
    - Such spells are purely defensive, turning the user's essence into protective barriers. They may project them around those around them or themselves.


    Larger ones are much more complex, meant to block off areas or dividing demonic hordes, requiring to mark a point that needs to be connected with another to have any use. Upon creating this 'Barrier', Demons are unable to pass through the two (or more) connected points. The more elaborate the Barrier spell, meaning the strength and number of points, determines the amount of taxing will occur when sustained.


    "Banishment" - These are types of Spells that when used, force the Demon back into the Spiritual Divide, or even if powerful enough, drag the creature straight into a pocket dimension created by the user. The demon will be weaker while the caster will be stronger, but this causes immense strain, to both pull one in and sustain.


    "Rejuvenation" - Albeit extremely straining on the user, these these spells rapidly mend severe injuries and poisons inflicted by a demon. Stronger ones may leave behind empowering affects that persist a short duration after they have been cast or allow for healing of multiple targets.


    "Invocation" - Instead of creating weapons out of their essence, Exorcists of this school are able to create various beings and constructs from their essence. Acting as an 'extension' of themselves, they may issue commands to these 'Familiars'. Taking it a step further, they are able to infuse their creations with sentience, allowing them to act upon their own will.


    *Note: Any Exorcist who is proficient in two or more disciplines may combine and mix them together at will, just be warned the doing so will cause much more strain than usual or cause the effects of each to be diminished.*


    While these are what the main techniques of Arcanus are called, feel free to come up with what kind of appearance or affect they have when performed by your characters. There are countless methods to kill, or deter a Demon, it all depends on your own creativity. I had purposefully made each one vague as to allow the players to make up their own.

Appearance:
Rook stands at 6"4 with short brown hair, parted cleanly to one side. His frame is slim, but toned, and his body is decorated with scars of bullet wounds from his past life. A tattoo of a cloud range stretches across his back to each shoulder. Rook dresses in simple garb and armor. He wears baggy tan pants and simple plated boots, a simple angular dark steel chestplate, and a pauldron on his left shoulder. He has a simple helmet, but only sometimes chooses to wear it. Sacred/Cursed Armament: Rook's cursed armament goes by the name of Psykronis. A large buster sword with a massive angular blade. The edge is decorated with a saw-like ridge pattern and a spiraling eye sits on the lower half of the blade, gazing into the souls of all who make contact with it. Rook found Psykronis only a few days after becoming kindled, when he saw a demon struck down in a clearing. The demon gave Rook Psykronis to preserve himself before he died, and as a result Psykronis has no choice but to fight for Rook, as without him the blade would be left lifeless in the dust. Psykronis has the ability to relay information to Rook through telepathy, and can also send off waves of power that follow the arc of its swing.


Soul Radiance: Rook's radiance takes the form of steam, angrily firing off of his form. On occasion the steam will have hues of turquoise and jade, but these are faint and hard to spot unless he's very intensely exerted.


Personality:
Rook is a very stable person as a whole. Little upsets him, or angers him, at least now. That wasn't exactly the case in the past, but it's how he acts now. He's a man of few words who pretends to be aloof about things he actually is pretty concerned with, and has lots of problems with people who are arrogant and selfish. He can turn cold in the heat of battle, but he'll crack a smile at a good joke just like anyone else.


History:
Rook's solemn memory from his past is a bloodied hand reaching out to grab his, but not quite close enough to grab him. The day he was Kindled, the grounds where the ritual took place was attacked. With little power and no training, Rook's only option was to flee. Then he was alone, in a foreign world with no memories and little knowledge of even what he himself was capable of. With time, he learned to hide himself by pretending to be a true demon in human form, and kept his distance both from other Kindled and demons alike, unsure if there was anyone in this new realm he even could trust. Years past, decades went by, and his wandering allowed him the time to hone his body and soul, and attune himself with his potential. It wasn't long before he had adjusted to the new world, but his skepticism still kept him away from the Kindled, as he wasn't certain of what their intentions were here. It wasn't until he saw a group fighting off the demons that he learned what their true goal was, and by that time, 800 years had past. He visited several groups of Kindled under the alias of a nomadic exorcist, learning their craft and methods while still remaining aloof and unattached. During that time he acquired his cursed artifact, and it wasn't until he was caught sleeping in a tree that he was confronted for not being an exorcist. Thankfully, the order was forgiving, and he was able to join their ranks without further delay, now accustomed both to the world of demons and Kindled.

Name: Has yet to decide on something he really likes. Goes by any number of nicknames that people associate with him, though simple things like "Guy", "Page" and "Kid" are beginning to stick.


Rank/Role:
Page, but just barely. Would be considered still in his tutoring and trial period, but still capable of taking on tasks. Because of this the young Kindled has no real defined role yet, preferring to think of himself as a "Journeyman".

Sacred/Cursed Armament: At the current time, the newly-dubbed Page lacks a lot of the training required to really access one's Sacred Armament. Luckily, he's also had no contact with a demon that would try to grant him a Cursed Armament. He has the vague idea of how to wield his weapon, but it comes out as a puffy mass of energy at the current times. He can wield it like a blade or spear, but it sort of just fills whatever need that the young Kindled has at that moment. It doesn't do any one task well and possesses no special abilities, but it does show the potential to be something great.


Soul Radiance: The essence of the new trainee is what drew the Exorcists to him as a candidate in the first place; his soul is brimming with potential, a mass of raw light and ambition waiting to be carved into a warrior. Like the boy's weapon, the Soul Radiance appears to be an unstable mass of prismatic light; taking on no characteristics that would hint at a future potential. Until his talent is refined, the young man's Soul Radiance reflects only the parts of himself that he has yet to sharpen into a warrior.


Personality:
A new soul in the world of spirits, the still-nameless young man is simply a life waiting to be lived. He hasn't even the vaguest connection to his past life or his deeds, knowing only what he has experienced since waking up. Because of this, he often seems thoughtless or disconnected from a situation that others have strong emotions towards. All that he really shows are his eagerness to experience new things and a curiosity that matches. From what people can tell the new Page is somewhat intelligent and resolute, though he rarely speaks his mind unless invited to by someone who has the grasp of a situation. He hasn't learned to fear or hate yet. He is a being as clean as snow, full of what could be and still waiting for a mentor to truly shape the kind of Exorcist he becomes.


History:
The trainee, a being who has yet to commit to a single name or course of study, is a pretty regular case of a young Kindled with no memories. His potential has fast-tracked his position in the Exorcists, with higher-ups wanting him to grow through experience and active mentorship to take advantage of his freshness. He was discovered at the bring of becoming a beastly demon of hunger, isolation, and confusion before he was guided by the group of people who knew best how to handle volatile young souls. He has expressed his desires to continue work with the Exorcists, though as of yet no real goal has been found to channel his incredible talent into.

Race: Spirit, specifically a Bird Spirit, even more specifically The Spirit of a Magpie!! Cool, right?


Age: Appears to be about 19, actually has no idea how old he is.


Appearance:
Magpie is about 5"7 with very dark hair that covers one of his eyes. Atop his head are magpie's wings, that flutter and flap and react to his mood. His eyes are solid black with jade green pupils, and he's a rather slender, birdlike figure as a whole. He wears a somewhat overly large dark navy hooded tunic that has the odd sheen of feathers. He also wears black trousers that are long enough to wrap over his heels and no shoes, because he never quite learned how to tie laces.


Sacred/Cursed Armament: His Sacred armament is called Juris. It is a sword possessed by the winds of the Arcanus, capable of acting on its own, separate of its wielder. Juris can also summon strong gales, and allows Magpie to perform a variety of intense acrobatics and low-level flight maneuvers. It is a sword that takes the shape of a grand edge, extending past the hilt onward, with a ring on the hilt itself to allow the wielder to spin the weapon at deadly speeds. The blade is a light steel with a strange saw-like pattern against the edge. (The image included is only a reference to the blade and does not have anything to do with what Magpie looks like. Refer to the one on the man's side, not the one on his shoulder.)

Soul Radiance: Magpie's radiance takes the form of wind, surprising I know. This wind is often glazed with a strange white light, pulsating in harmony with Magpie's own rhythm. Magpie's radiance is almost always exposed as a light white ribbon of a breeze floating around his head, and it's more rare to see him keeping it hidden than seeing it out and in the open.


Personality:
Magpie is a very curious bir-man. He loves asking questions, even when those questions don't have very reasonable answers, or even if the question is entirely socially uncalled for. He's a bit lost when it comes to human culture, and that much is very obvious in his behavior. He's a very carefree spirit, who hates being indoors and loves the trees more than the trees love sunshine. Very happy, very inquisitive, and always happy to put a smile on someone's face, even if it is at another's expense.


History:
Before becoming an Exorcist Magpie lived peacefully in the woods, minding his own business until some demons came along and cut down his favorite tree. Magpie is not the kind of person who takes kindly to tree-cutting. So, without even a second thought, he came to the Exorcists in search of a way to fight against the demons, if not for his tree, then for the rest of the trees. For his bird friends, the other spirits, and yes...even the humans....though he would never admit such a thing. Finding himself a quick learner he noticed that his sleeves were capable of summoning a variety of things, from his new weapon to a man he named Mikael. Well, not a man. A golem. Big, made of rock, no face. Kind of a bad conversationalist, but overall pretty swell. That's pretty much his whole gig.

Megumi is about 5 foot 7 and weighs around 115 pounds. She has a sleek figure and long black hair. She has red eyes and a nice smile.


Sacred Armament:


Megumi's Sacred armament is a Kodachi she calls Shinzo no Kodo, or Kodo for short. Infused with electrical and spiritual energy, this sword allows the Megumi to launch bolts of electricity out, which can also be channeled into healing magic. This can prove useful in countless situations, especially when it is too dangerous to heal someone up close. Along with this, it seems to fill her with energy and stamina allowing her to keep her strength up.

Soul Radiance:


Megumi's soul radiance takes the form of storms. (That rhymes.) It's appearance is a dark, cloud like substances that flashes with small patches of light, representing her energetic behavior.


Personality: Megumi can be defined as lighthearted. She is a very selfless person, putting others before herself. She always wants to do the right thing and thinks highly of life. Along with this she is quite the jokester. Megumi tries toe aide spirits when moral is low, and will always crack a joke if the opportunity is given, even in a serious time.


History: Megumi has no recollection of what happened before her training, and would give anything to know. She feels as if it would reunite her with her previous self.


My favorite part of role playing is progressing a story with the interactions of characters. Along with that, I love talking with the people I roleplay with out of character.

Sacred/Cursed Armament:


Her Sacred Armament is called Incantesima. Incantesima is a silver chained necklace consisting of different types of crystals that allow her to cast her healing spells, such as 'Rejuvenation' and 'Blessing'. The necklace also can create defensive force field barriers on Gaby and can be projected to other exorcists in her Sect. Each crystal contains a different 'spell' of sorts, where every crystal is used differently for a variety of healing methods. Every crystal can be detached and held to cast those spells. When casting a spell, her white/silver hair glows a ultraviolet blue and her Soul Radiance and hands also take up the same color.

Her Cursed Armament, however, has not been constructed as she has not encountered and defeated a demon on her own, purposefully.


Soul Radiance:


Gaby's Soul Radiance is that of Water. Water is a healing element. As her raw appearance, it comes in the form of her blood where instead of red blood, water takes it's place. She can also use her Soul Radiance to enhance her spells for defensive purposes. When her spells are cast she cuts her skin with her crystals and wisps to form barriers through Aegis and other specialized spells.

What is your favorite part about RPing?: Just getting into the characters, creating another world and being able to immerse myself into a world in which I've created. :)

    Cursed: "Collapse and Bind, Solomon's Fifth Gate"


    Mundo's Cursed Armament is named Solomon, but since there were so many of its kind, the Solomon's distinguished themselves with numbers, Gate's being their last name. Mundo holds the Fifth of the Solomon's. Mundo stumbled upon the Fifth during a game. After her first six months of becoming a Kindled she stumbled upon a demon who was playing a game of cups and balls. Hiding the ball with cup, Mundo played with the demon. When the demon thought he had her in his web, he placed a wager. If he were to win, She would become his. If he were to lose, he would be hers. The game lasted ten hours before the demon fell to Mundo.



    Solomon's Fifth Gate is a long gray scythe with black tins around the edge and top curve of the blade. On its side are rune like letters that light a bright orange when commanded to do something. When Mundo tells it to collapse, the Scythe breaks apart in tow, becoming a dual scythe weapon for close combat. When asked to scream, Mundo slams the tip of the blade into the ground, and strum the shaft of the blade like its a guitar. The weapon lets out a powerful screech, shattering the ears , as if a grenade sounded off right next to.

    Mudno "Want to test out my trials of love. Its a small game, fun and exciting. It'll leave you breathless. Penality? Well lets see. At the end of the trials, you get to see what I really am. If you don't show an ugly expression you win, if you do then like I said, it leaves you breathless. To me , love is just like death. Eventually it happens.

    • Mundo takes on the light of black and pink, in forms of falling rose petals. Her radiance also gives off a sweet yet foul of scent of blooming flowers and rotting flesh. The stronger she gets the more petals fall, and the smell becomes stronger. Mundo's soul Radiance makes her seem gracefully, yet dark to the bone.

Race: Borderline Daemonic, Former Human.


Age: Appears as the age she died, 14, is actually 229 years old.

Retaining her size from her human life up until she died, Lanni stands a a near laughable 4'3" tall, and only weighs in at about 70 odd pounds. Despite this, her slim and petite frame hides a wiry musculature and tonage that give her a litheness that would make a big cat jealous. With lavender eyes, a dash of freckles across her cheeks, soft, snow like hair and a deceptively friendly smile, it's often difficult for people to wrap their heads around the fact that she is actually an adult.


She wears a gifted Celtic knot style pendant that was given to her by the Cathedral, though she doesn't know the pendant is actually a modified set of arcane shackles. it monitors her Radiance levels and allows the church to watch to see if she becomes a threat again.


Sacred/Cursed Armament: A seemingly simple spear, it actually holds the cursed form a a rather disgusting demon that Lanni was more than willing to cut down and re-purposed, finding a morbidly ironic dark humour to what she now hunts with a spear whose secondary soul force used to be it's prey.

Soul Radiance: Lanni's souls manifests itself from the deepest, darkest pains she's suffered. Rather than give off light, it seems to absorb it like a black hole, whilst the rattling of blood-rusted chains fills the air as those very same chains writhe from it's centre like the hunger driven arms of a starve squid searching for prey.


Personality:
Complicated, yet simple.


Lanni does her best to play the part of the aloof loner. The one that's doesn't want, or need, to be around anybody, who would sooner take comfort in solitude than somebodies presence. She can carry an angry, even childishly so, attitude with people she doesn't know, and despite being qualified for a promotion or two, it is often these traits that keep her from actually succeeding in proving that she is worth the time to promote. Also, it's been learned that she doesn't like being touched. Ever.


In truth this doesn't help with anything other than masking who she really is.


Lonely, but too afraid to let anyone close, Lanni desperately hides her 'weaknesses' for fear that someone would attempt to take advantage over them... or over her. The actual Lanni longs for the comfort of people she can trust and is far more fragile and frail than she lets on, and she takes both criticism and harsh words heavily upon her shoulders, even if she doesn't how it. Lanni shows great care for young children, and great disgust for confinement or binding someone against their will, Furthermore, Lanni is in a constant struggle to control herself, because despite the soft side to her true self, she hides a near daemoness always keeping an eye open for adults who would let there gazes linger on those best left alone.

Body tainted, forever haunted.


None of Lanni's memories of her life before were ever nice ones, and this pain quickly led to her birth as a daemon after her death. For a number of years she thrived as a daemoness, but a particularly picky one. She was a daemoness of vengeance, hunting down those who viewed children in too hungry a fashion, and consuming their souls for her own personal vendetta.


But this meant that somehow, somewhere, there was a spark in Lanni, a spark able to be kindled.


After an incident where she consumed the soul of an innocent man in her vengeance fuelled quest, Lanni relented from her ways and, in a strange turn of events, managed to change herself in such a way that she became reforged as one of the Kindled. Still, Lanni hurt in ways only time could heal, and though she eventually made her way to a Cathedral, she hasn't made her change to a fighter of 'God' easy, and still struggles with her darker desires from time to time.


What is your favorite part about RPing?:
Watching everything grow. The best part of any good roleplay I've been in is watching everything mould itself together. From character interactions, to how the characters change for the story, and even how the story can change for the characters, it's always a beautiful sight to watch as the story truly becomes that of the player characters own.

Sacred/Cursed Armament:


Hammer of Hephaestus


Mare's Sacred Armament is his Hammer. Infused with his own Essence he uses it to build his magical defenses and to take down his enemies. Since it is so bulky he does not carry it around with him everywhere, rather he is able to form it from his Essence when it is required.


Soul Radiance:


Earth


Mare's Soul Radiance is a dirt brown due to his connection with the earth. Mare does not care for his Radiance and tries to subdue it whenever possible so that it is not seen unless he is casting a spell or summoning his Hammer. When he is damaged his Radiance tumbles out like crumbs of dirt.


Personality:



Mare seems like the strong, silent type, and he can be when he is upset or brooding. But for the most part he is the type of guy you find at a pub downing a pint of beer or mead. He tries to be kind to others although he is rather quick tempered. He spends his time meditating to make up for his temper and his meditation is part of why he is so attuned to the earth. He is seen as a rock, strong, dense, and slow.


Cardio is not his strong suit, but his muscles make up for it, along with his ability to forge barriers that can entrap Demons and also protect his fellow Exorcists.


History:
The only memory that Mare has is a memory of a little girl laughing looking up at him. Mare tries to ignore this memory as the girl must be long dead by now.


What is your favorite part about RPing?:
My favorite part of RPing is the characters and their development. I could do scenes of just the characters talking for days. But I won't!

Grimm's actual appearance is entirely unknown to his peers. If anyone has seen his true appearance, it is likely one of the superiors who began his training as an exorcist. The one time another exorcist approached Grimm to ask what he looked like under that "weird swirly black thing" his only response was to project a nauseating sense of dread accented by a dash of existential horror. As such, Grimm's appearance is characterized by a cloak of shifting darkness which is the physical form of his Cursed Armament, Wraith.

Sacred/Cursed Armament: Grimm's Cursed Armament is actually a Sloth demon known as Wraith. Grimm managed to track Wraith's involvement in a series of unsolved murders that were suspected by his superiors to have a supernatural cause. Wraith had been attaching himself to humans and feeding off of their essences until they dropped dead. Upon Grimm's discovering the demon's host at the time and threatening to destroy him, Wraith exclaimed that he couldn't be bothered to do battle with him, as it would be tiresome, and made a proposal. He promised to act as Grimm's armament if he were allotted a portion of Grimm's daily essence, as Exorcists have far more energy than normal humans. Grimm judged this to be a useful partnership and agreed on the condition that the armament look as foreboding and fearsome as possible (fitting his predilection for pomp). Thus, a strange symbiotic relationship was born.


Grimm is an empath, meaning that he can both transmit and sense emotion at a distance by establishing a mental link. For basic purposes, such as sending a vague emotion this unproblematic. However, when he commits enough effort to the link, Grimm can perform a rather potent mental assault on the target. Establishing such a link creates a profound vulnerability though. The link works both ways. As such, if Grimm does not exhibit great mental fortitude and control, the target can reverse the flow of the link and damage Grimm's mind in return. Empaths are a rare and understudied breed. Thus, it is unclear exactly what the lasting effects of such interactions are on those who frequently mingle with the consciousness of others. At best, these interactions will not leave Grimm totally sane and at worst they will leave him an empty husk.


Soul Radiance: Upon binding with Wraith, Grimm's Soul Radiance took on the appearance of a wispy dark mist. As such, the more injured he is the more unnecessary the billowing and cascading of his shadowy armament becomes. He is able to solidify his radiance into dark shards that act as conduits for his empathic ability. When a shard makes contact with the body of a target, it amplifies Grimm's connection with the target. With a friend, he might use this to send vague messages across a distance or track their current mental state. With a foe, it could magnify the effectiveness of a mental assault.


Personality: Grimm has an incurable flare for the dramatic. He speaks in a gravelly whisper and attempts to project an image of power and broodiness which he reinforces with absurd and overblown waves of emotive energy in order to seem impressive. Those close to him know that he is considerate and trustworthy despite his obsession with putting on airs, but it is doubtless that many find him difficult to deal with. One will often hear him muttering strange and dark things into the wind in an attempt to seem mysterious and poetic, it is unclear whether or not this, or any of his other attention grabbing behaviors, have their desired effect.


On the battlefield he prefers to stand at a distance working through his constructs, reinforced by Wraith's essence, and offer defensive support. In combat he likens himself to being " the conductor of a great visceral symphony seeking to guide its ebbs and flows." Unfortunately for Grimm, he is often not nearly so impressive to his compatriots as he is to himself.


History: When Grimm tries to recall life before his kindling the only concepts that float into his consciousness are 'the theatre' and 'cannibalistic serial murders.'Provided context, it's likely that many of his stranger attributes would make sense, but until such a time, we are left with only these vague and disturbing fragments.


What is your favorite part about RPing?:
I love characterization, trying out new and more grandiose ideas, and interacting with other people's awesome creations.

    Personality:

    Rain is quiet and reserved, usually speaking when necessary. It simply her nature yet she doesn't mean to seem off-put. Easily noticeable is her piercing gaze which indicates that she is gifted with the observant trait. Nothing slips past her easily and she tends to tune in to the underlying message rather quickly. Being blunt of character as well, she tends to blunder over jokes and silly acts but sarcasm she gets. Another noticeable trait is her ability to soothe, meaning she must not be all bad under the somewhat cold exterior.




    History:


    Rain woke up one day kindled, reborn anew. She didn't remember anything and that seemed like a relief knowing that if she weren't an angel, well sometimes the truth isn't all that pretty. Of course, even with all the avoidance and dancing around the memories that occasionally try to rise, she did catch a few glimpses. What clear is that it was lonely, bloody, and a hypocritical world filled with the image of an orphanage.​

Age: Appears around 30. Actually around 60.


Appearance: Not overweight, but of a heavier build, Henry stands just shy of six feet tall, though slightly bad posture often makes him seem shorter. His head is well covered by thick brown hair down to the tops of his ears. His nose is large, his smile clean and inviting, and one of his faintly green eyes occasionally loses focus and drifts away from whatever thing the other eye is fixed upon. His walk is confident, and when he looks around an area, he tends to spend a few seconds examining each individual item or individual, no matter how many times he sees a room.


Sacred Armament: A really rather underwhelming dagger, roughly an inch shorter than Henry's forearm. A second, smaller blade, splits from the main blade at the hilt and runs parallel to the first blade for half the length of the knife. Henry found himself clutching the object, within it's sheath, after being kindled, and though he is still unsure of its significance, has carried it since, for luck he says.


Soul Radiance: A mixture of dark reds, browns and oranges, like old autumn leaves, Henry's radiance is mostly left alone by him, as with most things he doesn't fully understand, meaning it tends to show itself not only in magic, but occasionally as a glow around him when he becomes particularly impassioned.


Personality: At a glance, Henry tends to be the warm and welcoming type, even if he occasionally forgets his own volume, and has to bring himself down from what is practically a friendly shout. He has difficulty learning, requiring a patient teacher, but can generally recall information very effectively. He can remain calm in times of clear danger, but becomes easily worried over more subtle things, such as his loss of memory. He's human (or was) so is naturally inclined to protect those he cares for. He needs to be around others to feel sure of himself.


History: He lost most of his memory after being kindled, but retains occasional moments of inexplicable nostalgia over a few objects seen since his kindling, and possesses a dear connection to the name 'Henry'.


Favourite part of RPing: Most certainly the stories that other people or the group create. I love to hear other peoples imagination, and greatly enjoy the feeling of adventuring freely through a completely different world to my own (because even great books and video games must be linear in some way or another).

Sacred/Cursed Armament :Haru's Sacred Armament is a pair of steel boxing gloves with a cross on the back of both of them. Haru found through muscle memory he knew how to box and for some reason after finding this out a pair of boxing gloves formed around his hands they felt natural like a second pair of skin. The gloves not only packing some lliteral punch but also being able to boost his blessings by a small bit.

Soul Radiance:Haru's Soul Radiance takes the form of a red roaring flame with each hit the flames seem to get bigger alot lf times they seem to be what is hurting Haru instead of the attack it's self. When using a Blessing the flames explode around him then condense around the are he blessed.


Personality:Haru is what most call hard headed or stubborn in other words his an idiot more along the lines he's just never willing to admit his way is wrong. His motto "violence is always the answer if it's not working then your not using enough of it!" He can be kind but there are rare moments and he prefers others not to see being nice. He normally keeps a tough look about him trying to not show much emotion or keep to close to people afraid to be betrayed again. He also for some reason he can't figure out has a slight fear of women that he suspects has something to do with the girl he remebers sometimes.


History:Haru doesn't remember alot before he died he can only remember seeing a girl about his age and feeling two emotions betrayal and rage. He can also remember being in alot of fights juding from the scars still viable on his body and the scars on his knuckles he punched things alot.


What is your favorite part about RPing?: Getting into character and the intresting interactions of characters.

Tall and lean, Varrin’s looks are as severe as his teaching methods. Varrin sports a long hawkish nose that is the centerpiece for a sharp, thin face. His eyes are typically narrowed in apparent condescension hiding the dark fringe of lashes that surround his pale eyes. His age at his time of death shows in subtle crow’s feet at his eyes and frown lines worn deep around his mouth. His skin is predictably pale, a tan would seem foreign to his sour countenance, and wears his dark hair long and loose about his shoulders save for when going into combat when he ties it up or plaits it down his back. His mouth is his most prominent feature and is certainly his most expressive one. His snarl is a thing of legend among the newer exorcists and is his favored expression. His snarl is only dwarfed in fierceness by his wicked smile that is said to make the blood run cold. But that’s probably on the dramatic side of things, of course.



Sacred/Cursed Armament:


Smile of the Morning: Varrin’s first CursedArmament is crimson bow carved of the bones of felled demon. It’s deep red and the bow’s shape suggests a smile hence its name. Its primary use is to extend the range of any spells Varrin might choose to cast. It also allows him to form essence into concentrated “arrows” or projectiles. These have varying effects depending on his purposes from poison to obscuring gases to carrying sealing spells or with great effort opening banishment rifts long distance the can be used to suck demons into the divide with great force during horde attacks or in sniper tactics.


Justice’s Tongue: His secondary weapon, rarely used but formed of his own essence is a long whip studded with jagged thorn like spikes. These slow the whip slightly but make it nearly impossible to escape from once it has made contact. The whip can channel spells and essence short range and packs a serious offensive punch. It’s more limited in its uses and is considered a last resort weapon as he makes a point to eliminate opponents before they get close enough to use it.


Soul Radiance: Varrin’s Radiance is felt and seen. A deep violet and dark maroon miasma surround his form and billow around him. It rolls from him like a great cloud, spreading and showing his power and perhaps even potential for more. It is menacing not for what it appears to be but for what it could hide. His radiance obviously grows more and more depending on exertion and injury also becoming more and more toxic as his situation grows more dire. It does seem to negatively affect Varrin himself to some degree as he is often found coughing or short of breath following making use of it. It can be spread and thinned to reach further or concentrated in smaller areas for more potency. With its self-destructive tendencies and potential for dirty fighting perhaps it reveals more about its owner than many would care to consider.


Personality: Varrin is considered to be a harsh teacher to the pages and squires under his tutelage. He has no taste for nonsense or laziness and even less tolerance for idiocy. He takes his job and his students’ lessons very seriously because like the Bishops he knows the dangers of their lifestyles. He can come off as very cruel and very cold but that hides a deeper care for every one of his students. He would do anything for anyone he considers himself responsible for and has risked life and limb for lesser exorcists in the past. He is always available for their use and goes out of his way to help those who show that they care to work hard. He appears a very disciplined man though his temper can flare at times rather dangerously. Even cleansed of his mortal sins some his nature remains.


History: Throughout his years memories have come back to Varrin and more often than not he has regretted learning anything about a past that nearly made him a demon. His memories have revealed a disturbed past of loss and denial of many human affections that may have lead to a pleasant reincarnation. No, the man who was Varrin Hawke died as he lived, spewing words of hatred and shedding blood. In his childhood he had only one happy memory, when his mother threw him out of their dilapidated home and told him not to come back. From there he scraped by on the streets: stealing, mugging, and sometimes killing to survive. That all came to a head one night when his actions caught up to him and died bloody, but died well, and has thus since belonged to the exorcists.

Sacred/Cursed Armament:

Akito's cursed armament is called the spears man of the abyss. Akito acquired this armament by how dark his emotions were back then that manifested gaining a mind of its own, he has been training with it every single day since then with it and is on the level of a master with a spear right now . The spear is summoned along with the armor which is as strong as iron but is light, the set is summoned by a black fog wrapping around Akito's body than spreading into the air before condensing.


The spear and armor pack quite a punch because the spear can help cast spells and enchantments way faster, but can cut through anything but other armaments in one slash, and Akito can let go of the spear and control it with its thoughts keeping the enemy's occupied as he can cast spells or go in for close combat.


Soul Radiance:

Akito's soul radiance is a pitch black clod with purple lightning moving around in it, showing the darkness in him that he is hiding but also the light that is still moving in him or it could mean the quickness of how he kills and how deadly his speed could be. The lightning in the cloud could be used for quick and powerful attacks but has some kickbacks on Akito showing mostly in blood loss from the mouth or internal injuries.




Personality:


Akito is often seen as a quite person that likes to be alone and work alone caring about no one but himself, but unbeknownst to everyone else he will help when needed he just doesn't spend his time when he is not really needed and hates wasting things on stupid stuff. But Akito can be caring and sweet if someone can get close to him.




History:

My favorite part is that you get to become your character in the story.
