Fantasy The Whisper of Death

When Sapphric asked for access to the servers, murmurs suddenly, emerged from the council. Sirez and Fina were surprised, to say the least that the council were actually discussing it amongst themselves. Fina glared skeptically at Sapphric. This was extremely classified information that was contained in only the deepest of databases. If this person got a hold of it and became a whisperer, every bounty hunter in Zeial would be after his head. Suddenly, the murmurs died down. A few uneasy glances were exchanged before one council member finally replied. "...Very well." Sirez flinched and Fina opened her mouth to protest but the councilman held up a finger. "We acknowledge the risk in doing this. Do not worry. Sirez will be assigned to keep a special eye on him. If he tries anything, I'm sure the man can garantee a death faster than the hand of the grim reaper. Heed our warning Sapphric. We are giving you a hand... don't even think about grabbing the rest of the arm."

(Time lapse to before)

Once, Rose's father was one of the top ranks of bounty hunters, she wanted to go along with him and she wanted to carry his ideals, he went missing after a while. This place brought her great nostalgia that ate at her stomach, a reminder of what she knew as unheard of.

Rose knew exactly his intentions, she allowed herself to casually walk in as a shield, she was quick at perceiving things and when she took her seat, her round amphyst eyes took in every person in the room. There was the arrogant woman, whom is the type she has been used to dealing most of her life, it is thanks to people like her that she succeded in making it to the bounty hunters table. Back story later, now, who is that guy? Rose looked at the guy shade, feeling as if she had seen him earlier, 'that's the guy I saw earlier staring at saphirric!' she then saw saphirric's recognition of the guy and realized that they knew each other. 'heh, I knew it, so you where keeping something from me?' she sort of gloated in her head. Calmly she leaned her head in her hand. Paying attention to the squabble, however she felt something grab her hand, he is taking too much advantage of my open hands she thought amused, but when she glanced at saphirric she noticed... something was anxious, worrisome, something bothered him. She, without her power could tell that. Her facial expression softened from it's previous hardness, and she felt a bit bad.

She then paid attention to the meeting. while I don't like to admit it, that arrogant one is right on one thing, I don't have the strength to match anyone here, but I didn't just become a bounty hunter based off of my looks. There is more to it then pure muscle. She thought satisfied, although part of her did feel a certain strain and she began to wonder again why of all people me?. It was too long of this that she no longer let it bother her, in fact it strengthened her when people doubted her. She had this radiant smile that people their could see two ways, an unbearably obnoxiously annoying, or a warm and welcoming site, it depended on whoever it was. She was very airy in her attitude, She tilted her head as she listened to the main council guy speak. In fact she actually sat up.

someone outside is messing with the core

(more to now)

Rose then eyed each and every one of the council members, rose had a hunch. She shook it off realizing she can't just figure it out by staring at them, no she had to ask them one by one, and that would give it away. She knew now why someone like her was here, suddenly she was rejuvenated with confidence. the big question, is how did he know this? she thought raking her brain for answers, always she could know if someone left out facts. She had to do some research, and a bit of questioning. that's my name, merideth rose, the best investigator..

obviously, as he stated, they have a leader, but who is capable of this? Who would know anything about the Core, better then the council members? Someone else.

Rose continued in her deliberate thoughts twisting and turning in her wide expanded mind, but what she did not notice is her dream walker, as she was unaware that her dream walker was another power. The dreamwalker floated above her, arising from roses body, invisible to everyone and undetectable unless of course you had contact with the spiritual realm. She sat behind and above Rose, like a gypsy, or genie with her arms crossed, sometimes she held a separate conscience to Rose. This was one of those times, when rose herself felt a strongness or extreme frustration towards something, or strong instinct, it caught Zona's conscience, and she awakened no matter whether she was awake or asleep. Zona looked smugly at the group around Rose, hovering like a protective guardian angel. "Interesting, I do miss out on things in there," zona muttered, although no one was able to hear her. She was both rose, and her own self. It was complicated and too confusing to explain. In good time.

.......

Roses eyes sharply looked among everyone, the whole time she had remained silent, observing, she laid back in her seat her arms crossed. To her right, suddenly, the boy saphirric (she thinks of him as a boy because his face is very boyish) Rose glanced at him, as he took the stand. She felt like something had finally happened in the hobbled mess, like some sort of movement in events, no more stalemate. She was eager for this meeting to end, she already knew what she wanted to do. It called her to action, and although something felt off about her friend, once again she left it and ignored it. Whatever secrets he was hiding, it didn't matter. She calmly watched and waited for the others reaction, although she did have to say something before she lost the opportunity. The emotions she felt at this moment, was one of impendiment, she couldn't procrastinate, she leaned forward, her black gloves held together. She then cooly looked towards the head council guy, now what can I ask that will be most beneficial? ah, I forgot what it was! she did not let her composure give away her forgetful thoughts. Instead she stayed there looking solemn.

The crowd was silent at saphirric, in fact so was she. She eyed the council, as well as most others she would think, as they took a moment to deliberate among themselves. This gave some chills to her, she couldn't understand why at the moment. Zona above her also copied roses concerns. She looked from the council to Saphirric waiting for the answer.

"..." she couldn't think of anything to say, finally they answered, and Rose let out a breathe. well, he isn't planning something stupid right? she dreaded, imagining what would happen. She was fully aware, no one should mess with the council, or atleast get caught. She shook it off, remembering her prior purpose she then looked up to the council with her most professional expression. Finally she opened her mouth feeling the length that she had waited to speak her throat a bit dry but luckily not her voice.

"I will have to ask, before this meeting ends, I want to ask one question, who knows most about this core other then yourselves? I understand you have probably already looked into him, but for our perspective," she said clearly, and loud enough for the council members to hear. hmm I feel that might not of been the question I had wanted well better then nothing. she thought.

Zona in the meanwhile, continued to float above Roses head, glancing occasionally at the spirit man, with a sort of bratty look.

So something is wrong with the Zeialan core and it's up to the guardians to fix it. How unbecoming of the council.

Solomon. This is more trivial than watching them argue.

"Sir, I would like permission to gain access to the servers of Zeial." He said looking them in the eyes. Muttering became of the room. His hands start to shake and then he grabs the lip of the table in front of him to stop it. "This is my chance to get in." He thought to himself. "If i gain access to the servers of the city's computer database, I can see if they left an end trail. No matter how good the hacker is, they can't not leave a trail." He spoke with a firm voice. He looks at the rest of the people in the room and stops and looks at Fina and Siren for a moment then back at the council. "The question is, 'How good are they at covering it up?'. Please, People of the council of Zeial. This may be your only chance to find out where the people that gain access to to the computer's extracted the data are." Sapphric takes a deep breath and takes a seat down in his seat and keeps a steady eye on the council. "This way I can see more info on the core and on Shade's brother." He plotted in his head. Sapphric's heart is racing.
Are you certain you wouldn't want to give away your guilt a little more? You've forgotten what it's like dealing with superiors that aren't one riddle short of omniscient. They can get away with pretending they know nothing. You briefly consider volunteering to accompany him. You can likely replace entire sections of the core with earlier versions, both reducing the damage and making it easier for him to do whatever it is he needs to, but the entire core is too big, and doing it piece by piece would either take too long or might result in desynchronization with the system. You're not sure. You never dabbled in robotics.

Your assistance shouldn't be needed anyway. You return your gaze to the unruly Zeialan. Why she's so robotic in her movements you don't understand. Perhaps she really is just a robotic child designed older? Maybe she's just been spoiled all her life.

You sigh silently.

Ekko couldn’t help but let a chuckle slip past his lips. He was beginning to see exactly why it was his brother who’d received an invitation to this meeting and not himself. It was way beside anywhere his interests lie. He looked up at the false ceiling, projecting the images of mountains and clouds, breeze and freedom. Its falsehood brought to mind the mechanical city that awaited beyond this crank circle. He’d been patient enough and at the rate this meeting was going, the city would be leveled in several hours. Hopefully this group had the wherewithal to take action – at least evacuate... He shook his head, knowing it futile to counterfactualize. He’d made up his mind.

“Ladies,” he addressed the entirety of the room, backing away from the crowd towards the door. A snide smile spread across his face as he continued. “Gentlemen… I’d love to stay and spin the cranks, but I do believe there’s a city to see before you all fell it to gears. Xavier Korvine, offline.”

With a salute, he opened the door and slipped out in swift succession, following the exit plan he’d been optimizing since his arrival. Once he’d made it off the floor full of superfluous frill, he felt the urges he’d been suppressing quell up inside him. His feet merely moved swiftly as his hands worked to loosen the clothes he’d permanently borrowed, tossing several pieces of it aside. As his mobility increased, his legs and arms began to pump, carrying him forward, lightly at first but the motion was too good. He couldn’t wait to be out in the city, and then to leave it blazed in his wake once he’d had his fill.

On one of the lower floors, a Zeiain quietly tidied the glistening floors. A balcony door was ajar, presumably to aerate the place and bolts did it need it. Ekko couldn’t resist the thrill, and picked up pace, readying his Zero Drive in case things went sour. And without a pause of falter in his step, he pushed past the bot, launching himself off the balcony and into the world.

"I understand the consequences of doing this. I wont abuse any information. All of this will be used for the safety of the people." He looks at the member of the council answered him. "Thank you for trusting me in these times of need." Sapphric moves his chair back away from him to start to walk over to Sirez but Rose speaks up. "Whoa," He thought to himself. "I didn't think she had it in her to really speak up like that, let alone in front of a group of people." He listens to what she has to say. "She's clever but Im sure there was to be maintenance done to it every once and awhile." He pauses in his thought for a moment and answers to her, "It's a "living" machine. It probably maintains itself. So the only people that should really know about it are probably the original builders. That'd be my guess." Sapphric answers, looking toward the council waiting for an answer in curiosity.

After hearing Roses' question, they nodded at Sapphric's answer. "Indeed, the machine knows most about itself. The original mechanic that built the core died centuries ago. As far as we're concerned, we know enough to make repairs, but not enough know why it is acting the way it," the council member said. Finally, the member from the school of Order became a bit more impatient. "Which is why we need to fix this immediately. If there are no further questions, please proceed out the door. You will directed to your stay at a luxurious local hotel. I'm sure all of you have had a long trip to get here."

After hearing what the council member had said, He walks over to Sirez and Fina. Sapphric, alittle uneasy from getting a few death glares from them. "I know you don't trust me, or anyone really." Sapphric said to the two bounty hunters. "But I was a Bounty Hunter as well, so the whole "Keeping the world in Justice" thing is kinda imbued into me. I'm here to protect. That is my job." "Man, this guy will never let his guard down on me." Sapphric thought to him self while trading glances with him.

"I'm honored the be working with you guys". He looked at Fina, "So Boss, what time are we all meeting up? I have to go and run house errands before we do go so I'm gunna rush it. Haha." Sapphric says, trying not to make it awkward, which he know's is nearly impossible.

Izaya found himself being escorted through the vibrant city of Zeial."Hey all I did was grope a chest or two is that such a terrible crime" he said with a face so genuine that most people would have thought him cute, adorable even.As he observed the faces of pedestrians as they watched the parade of soldiers lead him through the city.He noticed a particular beautiful girl in the crowd and winked at her.The girl screamed as if he was physically assaulting her."Hey I'm not that ugly"he said with a look of feigned depression on his face.As he was led through the the rest of the city he noticed that a little girl in dirty rags was staring at him with a look of intense hunger.Remembering he had what remained of a piece of toast in his pockets. He smoothly shook his hips and the piece of toast flew out of his pockets and into the girls hands.Quickly the girl devoured the food.As her eyes focused back upon him he saw in her eyes a look if pure admiration. As he neared what he assumed was his destination he saw that it was not a correctional facility but the Zeial council building. As he was led inside he noticed for the first timed that cuffs that glowed bright electric purple were binding his hands together.

He guessed they were power-canceling because as soon as he noticed his restraints he tried to break them by using his tactile telekinesis to break them.As he continued through the building he was brought before a large door then as it opened found himself being pushed it.As he caught himself from falling he heard it close and lock behind him.Taking in his surroundings he noticed that the room was filled with various people. One girl who had a dream-like expression caught his attention.Moving quickly towards her he said"
Umm excuse me would you tell me your cup size" he said with a intense look of concentration on his face.

Sound moves faster under water. It is also more unstable, which makes for the perfect kind of training to fine tune one's ears. Having lived in Marai most of his life, Kyle's ears were a bit stronger more than the average person. Payments. Insults. Authority to access Confidential Info. The Core. All of what was being discussed flooded into Kyle's ears despite his body being asleep. He could practically see the whole scene as if it was a dream.

None of it appealed to Kyle. He honestly could care less about what he got for "payment" or if people thought lowly of him. He wasn't he even sure he cared enough to help on this mission. What did it truly matter? Save the Core and save Zaiel. Why? And what did it matter to him? Why not just let the city crash into the ground and lose everything involved with it? What purpose is there to save the Core?

"Whatever." Kyle whispered in his mind. He has been assigned a mission, he was now required to get it done. No question. At least for now. Maybe something might happen this time that might help him find what he has been looking for. Kyle sighed, "Maybe, just maybe."

Kyle sat up and stretched. He knew he wasn't out for long since he could still hear everything being said. He leaned back in the chair and eyed some of the people around him. "Quite the interesting bunch." He thought wondering which he would end up working with. "Whatever."

"If there are no further questions, please proceed out the door. You will directed to your stay at a luxurious local hotel. I'm sure all of you have had a long trip to get here." said the leader.

Kyle didn't hesitate to get to his feet and push his chair in. "About time." he thought. He did not want to stay around longer than necessary. If he had to be a part of this mission, there were things he had to get done before hand. Having nothing else to "add", he began to make his way toward the door.

You could stay and ask the council a great many things, but in the end they'll probably just portray you as incompetent. The trust of these people is your entire reason for being here is it not? You want to ask about Vices, but it's technically not what you're here for and you can always ask later. For the time being...

What are you doing for the time being?

You nod to no one in particular and walk out the door silently. The hotel will probably set you on edge, but your presence there is almost certainly for their benefit rather than yours, so you'll deal with it. You can only hope you can get respite in some way once you're there and sneak on board the hell train. Dua will be worried sick. You get the feeling you'll need to enlist Penvo at some point in order to break away from the council's scrutiny. Bothersome. Maybe you should have just rolled with that assassination job for the others on the hell train.

Not that you'll be needed... You sigh wistfully when no one's looking.

...Wait, didn't you do that just moments ago? ...You hate it when Vaagur plays fortune teller.

Rose turned to saphirric at his response, and then to the council, anticipating an answer. of course, the best one would be the first to build it. There is so much to go off on that though, simply think. What happened to him? And why have they been unable to contact this man. He would obviously know the reason the core is acting this way, perhaps the core is dying? her thoughts went a million places, she leaned back in her chair in thought as people left around her. She glanced to her right, it happened quickly. Suddenly there was some sort of prisoner, who gave rose an odd feeling. Suddenly her fell in the middle of the room and eyed her.

"what cup size are you?"

Rose suddenly had a large migrane. She had never been afronted this way, in fact it was almost odd how unoften this happened. how do i deal with this? Rose rubbed her head.

"I have a crush on rose!" one boy said to his friends, holding a rose in his hands. "I shall tell her tomorrow!" the boy skipped around. However there was one unseeable threat lurking in the shadows. 'if you, fat pig dare to get near my reality walker...' the dream walker turned red in fury, she clutched her untouchable hands on the corner. 'tonight, i will pay him a visit. A very haunting visit.'

Meanwhile..
Zona, who had been carelessly floating about Roses head, in reaction to roses emotions suddenly turned her clothing from blue to deep red. Her hair floated in a scary fashion as she then raised her weapon and pointed it at the strangers neck. "No... one... can ask my reality walker that kind of question." Zona's voice was deadly as she measured him up, she swung her weapon, and then remembered she could not kill anyone, nor touch, nor be seen nor be heard. And fell down in a sudden discontent. "hmph, if only i could, little person, be fortunate today," she bit her lip, evily floating around the perpetrater. "Unless!" she then looked back at Rose, having an idea.

Earlier she had mimicked rose, but what if rose mimicked her! The dream walker zona flew too rose in a hurry, as she was about to reach back into rose's mind, zona halted, roses mouth opened.

a light bulb appeared in roses head, "Well, that is a difficult question, first one must put many things into perspective, like for instance, why a cup? Are cups very round and in width? There are multiple counts and instances that are unpredictable in reality it would be in a constant of around .0123984981.... no possible correct answer can be told in today's world. Or perhaps you would like me to take this one elsewhere?" Rose lifted her cup for water slyly. "I am not sure, but i would say this is also of the measure of somewhere between 10 centimeters and 7 inches, and an impossible pie formula, if i am correct that would make this a medium sized cup. Or if you want to look at other places, for instance, some places say that that is not a real thing and in fact a dislilussion ment to mendle with the minds of young people such as yourself.." Rose continued in this speaking, her words where too fast to comprehend there meaning, and in fact she knew this would be confusing to anyone listening to her. At one moment no one would understand a word she said, at that note she continued saying nonsense and stood up.

"Now while you try to figure that out, i must go and make myself useful, if you will excuse me." she pushed in her chair and walked towards the door without another word.

"And if only somehow I would find some sort of hint towards the way of the library" she said to no one in particular, grinning, it was intended indirectly at the council, she knew that they somehow could send her hints on the otherside without them realizing her true intention. A maid? Or whatnot, she simply took a step outside into the portal.

Zona followed behind, her hands down. Zona felt disappointed that she was unable to complete her experiment, and halfheartedly went through the portal behind her reality walker.

The two bounty hunters stayed quiet. Sapphric brought his hand back down. "They don't trust me at all." He thought to himself. " There's no way they suspect me... do they?" Sapphric turned to hear Rose say soemthing about the library. He thought she meant him so he walked out the door, looking at Sirez and Fina as he left. He creates the portal, out of view of everyone, for Rose. He follows her out. the portal.

Later that night, Sapphric had stayed at his apartment seems how it was in the same city, it'd be silly to sleep in a hotel room. He sits down at his laptop and opens the lid. "This is the moment of truth. What did i grab?" He thinks to himself nervously. He pulls up a tab for his music and opens another window for the camera placed up above him that shows the rest of his room. He glances down at the small video at the bottom of his screen every now and then to keep an eye out for something wasn't right and someone was there when they shouldn't be.

He takes his flash drive out and plugs into the port in the computer. He brings up the file on the computer. "This file is encrypted." He opens up another window and types in alot of code for a couple seconds then hits the enter key. File after file, notes and battle plans for an attack on Salicia. Sapphric's heart drops. "They couldn't actually think that the core's data being swiped is all Salcia? Could what i be doing, taken under the name of Salicia?" He questioned. "I'm gunna have to find out who when i get my hands on that core's data. But no one's a better hacker than me."

Sapphric picks up a radio and turns it on. HE grabs the mic set and squeezes the trigger. It sounds of static then stops. He speaks into it. "Shade," He pauses. "We may have a problem."

TIME SKIP- MORNING OF THE MISSION

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"NO! MOM! DAD!" A little boy screams. Fire's burning on the wall and rubble is falling off the ceiling., creating ashe and sparks fly up in the sir with every piece. "It's okay boy." A gritty voice speaks from behind him as he's getting carried away by an unknown force. "You'll be okay when im done fixing you." The little boy tries to fight himself away with no luck. Ahead of him he sees two bodies getting further and further out of his vision. The boy continues to fight and fight to break free but the only thing he can do is just cry. "Once you grow big and strong, you won't feel sad anymore." He man says as he conitnues to drag the boy through his kicking and flailing." One day, you'll be big and strong and you won't need little old parents anymore. They only tell you what to do and keep you from being free. Im going to help you LIVE." The boy tosses and turns even more. Scared for his life trying to run but he just can't. "Get back here!" The man yells as he lifts the boy up alittle more to slam him on to the ground. The boy leans up, barely, from the impact and has the wind knocked out of him. The boy's vision is blurry from crying that he can't quite what the man looks like. The boy sees the figure of the man lean away and lean back. He brushes his hand through the boy's hair as the boy lays on the ground. "shhhh, shhhh. It's okay, this will only hurt alittle." He says kindly as his voice could possibly sound. The man picks his arm up that's holding something long and black. The man swings it down and hits the boy in the face. The boy's vision gets more blurry from the hit, going alittle black from his eyes shutting alittle. The man Swings back down causing the boy's vision to go completely black.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sapphric opens his eyes to the sun shining through the window. He rolls over so it's no longer in his eyes. "Well, Today is the day." Sapphric says to himself. He rolls out of bed and walls over to the fridge and gets a water bottle then walks over to his computer. He scrolls through the news and another day where there hasn't been a war waged against Salcia yet. "Were those just plots or were they fake? What did I grab?" He pushes his Chair back in and then walks over and gets dressed. He puts on the same Beanie and Jacket he wears everyday. He turns his head and looks out the window that's by the foot of his bed. He walks over to it and leans his head against it while looking at the city. He looks down at the streets below him. He has to be about 7 stories up. He looks out and sees the scenery in front of him. "These dreams... Why do they keep happening?"

Sirez and Fina waited for them at the lobby of the hotel, a large room with extravagant decorations. It almost seemed like a palace. It was certainly one of the most expensive hotels in all of Zeial to stay at. But the two bounty hunter stood waiting at the door, Sirez busied himself with checking all his equipment and Fina held her arms crossed and she tapped her feet. "How skilled do you think the lot is?" Sirez asked. "Skilled no doubt, but I still don't understand why the city's bounty hunters couldn't get the job done themselves," she responded. It was clear she was irritable this morning and a bit impatient as they waited for the others. If you walked outside there was one street that made a massive ring around the area. If you looked off the edge, you'd see the rest of Zeial bustling below you. Above there were just a few office buildings covered in glass and other buildings for different purposes. A club, government structures, railway stations etc. Fina checked the time. "They should be here soon."

Before Time Skip

Shade walked out of the room questioning what his next move would be after he received the information, he stretched while he was walking out of the building and through the alley ways, he wasn't going to stay in some fancy hotel Shade wasn't for that. He would rather have that money better spent for the poor children on the streets.

As Shade made it back to his house he quickly began his weapons maintenance and got to work going through maps that he'd stolen getting as good of a general idea of the underground as he could, he went through paper's of information on the security. Thinking to himself, "This security is a very good set up, the camera's will be easy to get past with the jammer's... But the security on the doors was horrible especially if it came down to people like Sapphiric or himself over half of the doors were bars and could be seen through. I wonder what could be causing all of this to be happening."

Shade then walked across the room to his maintenance table and picked up his ear piece and his glasses he put the ear piece in and folded the glasses to hang them on the front of his shirt. As he walked along the table picking up his gear and putting it where it went, he then picked up his watch and put on last as he then began walking for his window he looked down at the watch, "1:20 AM... 70 minutes until they bring the security down, Time to get over to Sapphiric's." As Shade jumped out his window it was starting to bug him with how he kept feeling as him someone was watching him, and it was irritating. As he walked through the alleyways he kept feeling it, Shade then glanced at a nearby alley and then bolted down it in an attempt to get rid of the haunting gaze that wouldn't go away.

Shade got a block away from Sapphiric's home when he heard in his earpiece, "Shade... We may have a Problem." Shade leaned against the wall catching his breath bringing his hand to the earpiece, "What is it, what's going on?.." Panting from having ran 4 miles as fast as he could.

Time Skip - Morning of the mission

Shade woke up panting and in a cold sweat from his nightmare, from the most dreaded day of his life, the day he lost his entire family. He got up and stepped into his bathroom and looked in his mirror his body was beginning to look like it was fading in and out though void. Shade began to try and take deep breaths while splashing cold water on his face.

He then walked through his living room to his Balcony to take in the morning air,
"Alright, it's time for me to get ready..." Shade jumped in the shower and put all of his gear back on and then sprinted through his living room and jumped from his balcony over the street and onto the house across from his and made his way to the hotel jumping over the roofs.

He got to the center of the city and then jumped down the safest route he could down to the opening in front of the hotel, where Shade sat and waited for everyone to gather on the inside before he walked up.

MERIDETH

when Rose was in her hotel room, she had gotten out the files she had swiped on her way back to her room. It was files on the original builder, and his potential line of apprentices, as well as books on history and mechanics, she layed them down on the desk and got out her material to work on it. She had many theorys as to why the core was damaged, and by whom, although she strongly suspected it to be done by 'an insider', she had to follow the only lead she had to one of her multiple theorys that where stuck in her head. She sat down and turned on a lamp light, fixing her glasses. got some work cut out here. eyeing the large stockpile.

This lead she believed that the originals kept something from the council, but the question was why? The only people who the builders would trust would be their apprentices. Unfortunately it was impossible to locate the last living descendant in the time frame she was given, but the best bet would be to know everything she could.

----

The girls head buzzed, the last one.. it was like a bee that continued to pester her. beep

beep

Her hair frizzy, and her head hurt unbelievably, she opened her eyes to find herself laying her head on a desk, papers where astrewn everywhere throughout the hotel room, she raised her heavy head from her arms, the light only making her eyes hurt more. She stretched her arms, yawning, only to recall what she had been doing.

All night last night she had done research, For her the reading was a breeze, she could read a novel in 10 minutes, however it was the note taking, connecting the dots that took the time. Even the most high level scholar would have to put effort in this kind of work. Everywhere where the papers where they where astrewn on pins to the wall from the ceiling all over the bed, in some sort of messy organized manner. Notes connected to dots, and circles of random pages on books.

The sun had not risen yet, she was already in hours of research. Her eyes where red and she felt drowsy. Shifting into sleep, she finally felt it was safe to take a break. She laid her head down on the desk.

It was at 6:00am that Rose finally collapsed midwork. The alarm went off once more, Rose ignored it for about 5, minutes.
mission...they will do... what is she doing here?

Finally, a chance to be useful.

get up.*

GET UP*

Rose awoke suddenly, awaken by the voice that sounded all too familiar, it was the girl from before.

“...?” she looked around, "what? how long have i been out?"Rose wondered dazedly. happy that she had been wearing winter clothes.

In a sudden angst her chair fell back before she could catch herself. She landed on her arm, her heart beated quickly and the fall awakened her senses. “That was a wake up call," she muttered, gripping her hand together to recover, she jumped up off the floor, catching a glance at the alarm.

"I'm late!"

she then ran to the bathroom to prepare herself.

In the mirror reflected a girl with frizzy hair, red eyes, and a giant red mark on her forehead. "..." Rose cringed, then she got out a comb to quickly die down the frizz. "I'm dead," she said to herself once more, running from the bathroom to the closet.

She was about to grab the usual winter set, then on a second thought put it back. "I'll need something light weight for this," she thought, then searched through her clothes. Literally all she owned was the same thing. She bit her lip, wondering why anyone would do such a thing. She then fell back in her chair, foot kicking a box. "Hmmm," she grabbed the box from under the desk, unsure where it came from. Despite having a fairly good memory, she did not recall seeing this before, when she opened it there was a note inside. "For good use, love a loved one," she didn't think too much of it, tearing open the box.

Inside was proper clothing, some leather jeans and a t-shirt. Something normal bounty hunters, would be expected to wear. She put it on and looked at herself in the mirror, "not bad," she grinned in satisfaction. glancing at the time she realized she was out of time. Grabbing her things and her scarf, before heading to the door.

((it's a bit roughly strewn together, sort of had two drafts that merged into one,))

Sapphric, looking out the window, puts his hand against his reflection. "I'll prove it to you Mom and Dad. I'll make you proud. I'll be a hero, not just for you... I'll be worth something." He thought to himself while staring into his eye's reflection. He turned around and looked at the clock on his wall. "A quarter after?!" Sapphric freaked out. "Im late!!!"

Sapphric quickly got dressed in his normal attire and threw a portal against the wall. "I swear i abuse this power way to much." He laughs at himself. He bolts through the portal and runs out the other side in the same alley him and Rose when to when they went to the Capitol building before. He runs towards the entrance of the alley when a a vegetable cart gets rolled in front of it. Sapphric suddenly jumps up, pushing off the building to his left with one leg, placing one foot on the top of the cart. He pushes off the cart spinning slowly as he slowly starts to dive towards the concrete. As Sapphric has his back facing the ground, he gets a good look at the top of the side building to his left. He spins and faces the ground and creates a portal on the ground where he dives down to. He moves through the portal soon to be flying out the other side that was on the side of the building that he examined. He flies all the way to the right side of the hotel that they had all the people from the meeting stay at. "Yeah i totally abuse this power." He Laughs.

Sapphric walks into the front doors of the Hotel into the lobby. He see's Sirez and Fina standing there awaiting everyone's arrival. He takes a deep breath. "Look's like Im not the only one that's running late it looks like." He jokes as he approaches the two bounty hunters, scratching his head.

Fina checks the time and shakes her head dissaprovingly. "Never punctual," she said. Sirez was looking at a few files. Fina turned to him. "Did you find anything on her?" She asked him. Sirez shook his head. He put the files, purposely concealing the information from the others.

Rose looked about the hallway, she saw no one else was out. She then hurried to the elevator, part of her wished she had saphirrics ability to run through walls and appear in certain places. The elevator arrived and she walked in, It gave her a sort of bad feeling at this point, but she breathed in, as she went down the elevator. She felt she had not done enough, in fact she could of done some exploring before hand had she woken up sooner.

Rose calmed down, she felt a bit more confident at this point, she crossed her arms as the elevator opened, she walked out with an unsmiling face, she heard voices and her gut told her to not run out, she looked around the corner and saw the two from earlier hiding something, she watched their mouths move. It seemed they didn't want anyone to see whatever they where hiding, she kept her back to the wall. It felt like a bad moment to walk out, she then glanced again after a minute, her body wouldn't move something was holding her back.

watch again, see over there rose looked around the lobby, it was casual, there was saphirric, and a few people in suites talking in the lobby. She noticed something she had missed before, it was a familiar hat, and a familiar suite. She stopped looking around the corner, and took a breather. walk casually out, and go to the group meeting place. She nodded at the voice, and this time she walked around as if nothing had happened and she had just arrived. She smiled, waved at her friend. She took a place by the counter without further word, she avoided looking at the man in the lobby, she didn't want anyone to think she was an ease dropper or gather attention to herself. "Morning," she said to the group in the lobby.

She intentionally turned around to look at the door as if she where waiting for more people to come, not wanting boiler hat to see her

Trim

You're standing in a tilted building. No doubt the structural compromise will lead to the whole fucking thing falling over, but you can't leave. Not when you're face to face with yourself. You're both running at each other. Words need not be spoken, though why, you can't fathom. Soon you're cutting each other, stab after stab, but blood does not flow. You should have figured it out sooner, but when you start seeing and hearing Dua call out for you is when you realize it's just a dream.

"Arsin, get up."

You spring awake, panic settling in. "Shit." If Dua is waking you up, you can only be late, which is a major compromise to your reputation already. God damn it. You rush to get dressed in your uniform. You couldn't sleep in that hotel, so you hopped out the balcony to get some sleep in the hell train. Your failed attempts at trying seemed to have kept you up late.

"Still oversleeping as always. Striving to be a perfect attendant really doesn't fit you, you know?"

"Dua, please."

"I keep telling you, my name is Elis. If you wanna go by Trim now, that's fine, but personally, I don't like being named after a number."

You toss on your absolutely perfect scarf and rush towards the door. "You should take pride in your ranking." She's about to say something else, but you cut her off. "Whatever, I gotta go now." She looks as if she's going to say something, but doesn't. She's almost a bit... forlorn? You push the thought aside and rush out. A glance through the window tells you you're still parked outside of your hotel room, so you waste no time opening your car's hatch and jumping out. You land a little roughly, but you waste no time dwelling on it as you run through your pristine hotel room and out your hotel door. You hope the rooms aren't monitored. They almost definitely are. You hope the balconies aren't monitored.

In moments you're flying down the stairwell atop your blade, a dizzying spiral downward interrupted only by the sudden stop at the end. Your stomach rumbles, perhaps stirred by the commotion. Breakfast be damned. You walk out of the stairwell and into the main lobby where you spot the two bounty hunters from earlier and a couple of the guardians. Only a couple. Good. You haven't held anyone up. As long as you aren't holding anyone else up, you figure you're fine for now. You really want to grab breakfast, but if you did you'd be forsaking your responsibilities to these people. You lean against one of the elegant pillars. Let them notice you. Approaching them would be an admission of your tardiness. They're bounty hunters aren't they? As long as you don't do anything wrong worth mentioning to their superiors to these people, it should be fine to act however you like.

Great.

"Well that was a waste of time." Kyle sighed as the light hit his face. He dug his hands into his pocket and fiddled with the knife inside. He shifted the air under his feet and started to move as if he was walking upstairs. Kyle continued to climb thinking about the journey that would lay ahead of him tomorrow. But that would soon reveal itself.

But what about now? Should he go the hotel? The heaviness of his heart told him that maybe it was a good idea to go and get some sleep. He really didn't care though. He took a deep sigh and wished he still smoked. A good hit of a pipe sounded really good right about now.

Kyle stopped moving, "I guess I should." he whispered and jumped off of the air made step. Manipulating the air around his torso, Kyle flew off toward the hotel.

"You'll never amount to anything!"

"At this rate, you won't get anywhere!"

"Work harder!"

"You must stay focused!"

"Study! Train! Fight!"

"You'll be one of the best!"

Kyle shot up with his head pounding against his skull, his face dripped of cold sweat, and his breathing heavy. He dug his face into his hands and rubbed the blurriness out of his eyes. "Another nightmare." he whispered. He swung his feet to the ground and wiped the sweat from his face. "Reoccurring..." His eyes flashed over to the knife on his desk. It did seem tempting.

Kyle sighed and pushed the thought away, "I need to get ready for the mission."

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The lobby opened up before Kyle. Nothing really stood out to him except the group of people near the front. He assumed this was his group that he would be working with, mostly because he saw a majority of them yesterday. Kyle took a deep breath and slid his hands into his pants pocket. "Well better get to work." he whispered and made his way over the group of bounty hunters without saying a word.

Fina looked at everyone and Sirez readjusted his weight. "I hope everyone had breakfast because it might be a while before we eat again. Now if you follow me we'll step on the platform that will lead us straight to the Spine. It's in the horizontal middle of the city and runs up and down. It's the only way we can get to the core," she explained as she turned and walked out of the hotel and stepped onto a small glass cube attached to rail. Sirez followed suit under the pretense that everyone else would do the same

You follow wordlessly. Fucking breakfast. Fucking hotels and their fucking alien mattresses. They're probably stuffed with the dried organs of goats or something. Horrible.

You step onto the cube that looks suspiciously like Hepto's weapon and sail off towards the core after Sirez and Fina. The task itself is ambiguous as it is uninteresting. Unless your group proves... particularly misfortunate... you don't really see an opportunity to shine here.

How bothersome.

Sapphric reached up and rubbed his eyes. As he moves them away, he see's Rose walk up to the group and wave at him. He brings his left arm up, scratches the back of his head, smiles and waves back. "Huh, I wonder where Shade is?" Sapphric asked himself. He looks around and see's Trim standing off to the side and Kyle walking up to the group. "He looks so sad." He thought to himself. He starts follows the two bounty hunters out the door and looks to Kyle.

"Hey, You're that sleepy dude from the meeting. Glad you could make it." Sapphric says, trying to cheer the kid up. "I don't think we've actually met and i'm always looking forward to making new friends. I'm Sapphric." He holds out his hand.
