On one fateful fall night near the coast of Maine, four friends were gathered to watch Halloween movies and feast on candy. One of them notices that the candy was getting low and they go to the cellar to refill the bowl. They stumble across a book hidden behind a shelf, they pick it up and he reads one of the poems inside. A beam of light emits from the book and it engulfs the house. The next thing they knew, they were all at home in their beds with new changes to their bodies. The friends experiment and realize that they were transformed into movie monsters. It is now up to them to cope with their new obstacles until they can reach someone in Los Angeles that can help them.
