ENGAGEMENT SCENARIO

    TIMESKIP IN EFFECT

Nighttime drew close, and the large pack of Wargs surrounded the broken down hamlet in a wide circle just outside the view of the people inside of it. Although even at this distance they would easily be spotted due to their largeness, the darkness of night and the heavy rain masked much of their physical appearance and the howling wind would hide away their speedy approach and the. A leader stood outside the circle grunting and huffing, giving signal to those in the pack to go inside and wreak havoc.

3 Wargs approached from the open road, slowly but not bothering to hide themselves. Most groups men were no match for a Warg, especially if there were more than one of them. This group just growled loudly to intimidate their prey.

(( OOC: All players should from this point on should engage an NPC Warg. Since this group is out in the open, players can attack first. Warg DEF for this group is 2 DEF DICE. The Wargs designations are Alpha Beta and Gamma. Please use these designations for targeting purposes. ))

4 Wargs made their way to a group near the base camp where they surrounded the men there. 2 of the Wargs, hungry as anything, rushed in recklessly. They missed their prey, but charge so fast and with such strength that they collapsed the structure. Meanwhile, another Warg jumped towards Archus.

(( OOC: Players in this vicitnity will have to deal with falling debris of the structure, worth 3 ATK dice. Archus will have to deal with that as well as the Warg Charge which is still unknown. Designations: Delta,Sigma,Theta and Omega))

A lone Warg proceeded to trail Grifyn from a parallel distance, before rushing at him at full speed.

((OOC: ATK unknown, Sneak attack, EVA DICE disabled for response this time.))

before they went out to a mission to hunt some pretty scary wargs she was given a medal to mean she would be a 2nd officer, someone who is just under a captain, who is a person who orders around a group or field team. she wasnt sure what to do. it was a bigger responsibility than what she has right now taking care of dozens of animals. but really she didnt really think it was much work or responsibility cause she loved animals and was super great with them. she wondered how much work and how hard it would be to be a leader of sorts. there was quite a few people older than her and more experience in such things so she was confused a bit by why she was chosen over them. it would be kinda awkward being boss to those people. one thing she did have that may have been the clincher in making her 2nd officer, her powers.....

when they were dropped off the weather took a turn for the worst. it was rainy and windy and leira felt like a wet dog which pissed her off quite a bit. for now she accepted her position but if it was lots of days like this and hunting animals, she may turn it down in the future. she let the others give out the orders. Leira went towards the streets to patrol, her sixth sense about animals would help her find them if they were hiding or sneaking around, it was really hard to tell in that nasty weather. then it happened.......

........... damn that killing instinct........

whenever animals were hunting to kill she felt this creepy emotion like a stalker, murderer all in one.

" ...they're here.....Here~! THEY ARE HERE~! " she had to repeat cause she didnt say it loud enough. the wargs were coming at straight at them. wargs were not some of her favorites, domesticated or whatever they were creepy to her. " dont let these things get close~!" pointing her finger at one she blasted it with a bolt of lightning.

"Don't exactly have the luxury to tell em to sod off ma'am!" he said as he drew his broadsword and backed off from the closest Warg (ALPHA) before being effectively blinded by a sudden streak of light. "Hells bells! Warn a fella before you decide to singe his eyeballs ya crazy lady!" he growled back. Through his squinting eyes he could only make out blurry shapes. Unable to tell if the beast had been wounded. Unable to tell whether it was a large male with shaggy brown fur or it's less sizable counterpart.

"Arrr! I'm overthinking it! It's there! I'm here and I have a blade in hand!" he psyched himself up, trying to push back the impulses that battles brought out in men. A symph- no ... a cacophony of thoughts that could lead a man to his death if not kept in check.

"Help me take this thing down first whoever you are! We can't let them corner us together! Hold till we have reinforcements!!" he shouted back and hoped the lady was still beside him. Even if he held it against her for the attack before she was all he had at the moment and they were each others grounding.

A lone man is no army and two folk-in-arms are no joke.

The old words of his guardian helping him find his center. He brought his blade between him and the resolving figure of the Warg. More distinct now. Enough to have a decent chance of landing a blow. Collecting himself he charges forward and swipes at it it's face, large and unguarded. Hoping to catch it unawares he swung again, seemingly missing but in fact preparing a much stronger attack.

Following up with the testing blow he circles his blade downward, channeling the strength of the Earth beneath him with grim determination before coming full circle and meeting with the beast head on with the blade in a downward manner.

"SIT!" his voice drained but tempered.

Henvo was one happy doggie. His pack had finally gotten off the ship. Henvo did not like the ship. He loved traveling (in his case, running about like a fanatic puppy) across the Norhad Plains, but when his pack had gotten onto a strange thing called a 'ship', the fun stopped. Henvo distasted the way it rocked back and forth, and spent most of his time sick over the edge of the strange wooden thing. Creatures with legs were meant to walk and run with them, not stand on moving, shifting, swirling platforms in the water.

But as mentioned before, the pack had disembarked from the ship and settled down at a place called an 'outpost' in the middle of a lovely little hamlet. They were supposed to be 'reinforcements'. The term meant next to nothing to Henvo, and he had almost been smacked over the back of the head by the Alpha (who called herself Bellaum) when he had asked what they were. If she had managed to hit him she would have felt his perked up, fuzzy ears, and he didn't think that would have been good.

But all was good, and as also mentioned previously, Henvo was one happy doggie. He'd wandered off a bit and found a couple of rabbits. Usually, the Alpha made him eat something strange and fluffy called 'bread'. Henvo had eaten it before, and he didnt mind the taste, but it got old after awhile. Some of the others felt this way as well, because when he'd brought them back to camp, one of the men offered to build a fire to cook them. Henvo didn't mind eating a raw one, but he obliged, and shared a meal with a few of the others. The rain had made it hard to cook, and the humans wilted in it, but Henvo didn't mind. If his tail wasn't tucked under his leather armor, it would be wagging back and forth.

Henvo was so preoccupied with eating his food that he failed to notice his own speech until the others could hear it as well. It was a low growl, many low growls. "We live here. This is our place." The growls said, accompanied by a musky scent of Warg in the air, "We shall rend the flesh from your bones and feast upon them for the next few moons." Henvo barely had time to stand before chaos erupted.

Two struck first, just as his old pack would, strong and fast. (theta, omega) But they were sloppy. Henvo rolled out of the way, and his comerades did the same. Theta and Omega crashed into the hastily constructed guard tower, sending broken boards and crudely sawn logs in all directions. Some landed around and on top of Henvo, but he remained unharmed. He pushed upwards, giving himself room to draw his handaxe, and smacked it into the woods weakest points, once, twice, and he was free.

Scrambling to his feet, he held his handaxe aloft, cocked in the ready position as he assessed his surroundings. Archus, the man with the metal skin, was currently fending off two wargs on his own. Henvo reasoned he could handle them well enough, but some of his companions were still struggling to free themselves from the rubble, not as deft as he was. Those who had were disorganized, and would be killed swiftly. Thinking on his feet, quite literally, Henvo sought high ground. He began to skirt to the right, flanking Omega so that it was between Theta and him, drew a knife from the bottom of his belt that hung across his chest, and whipped it at him. The tip shone like the sun peeking over the horizon, and it split into three.

The storm raged on without letup as the band of mercenaries did their best to defend themselves against the larger and more aggressive beasts. The three Wargs that approached from the open road were spotted by a group and in quick response Second Officer Laramy launched a lightning assault severely injuring the center warg ( ALPHA ) before Avar took it down, killing it. The other 2 then lunged at Avar, aiming separately at his head and feet looking to perhaps tear him in two.

(( OOC: Target: AVAR // 2 ATK from Wargs; Beta and Gamma ))

Elsewhere, a group of men had been buried underneath the rubble of a broken down granary when 2 Wargs struck the supporting beams and collapsed them to their foundation. Those buried underneath were in an unknown condition. A warg sniffed the ground and targeted Archus lounging in front of him. While two wargs were digging up the rubble to munch on easier prey, one of them took its massive paw to swipe Henvo.

In the midst of this investigation, something seemed off. And Grifyn, being the rather curious one, tried to figure what was it. After a few moment, he finally did.

The sound of the rain had been slightly altered, somewhere near his area. Instead of the sound of raindrops hitting the soft ground, it was slow and sneaky footsteps. Something was lurking, and that something is getting nearer every passing moment.

Deciding to take caution, Grifyn kept his guard up. He planted his feet on the ground, granting himself some slight assurance that he won't be sent flying off should something charge onto him. His right arm was extended and arced to the right, acting as a deflecting shield and his left positioned in a way that he would be able to deliver a powerful counter attack.

Although being on the receiving end is not technically a strategical position, the weather made things rather complicated -
a simple mistake can easily cost one their life, with the visibility reduction and the slipperiness of the land. Grifyn made preparations that he wouldn't be the one to face such a circumstance.

And as if right on queue, a growl sounded right behind him, its noise louder than expected. A single Warg had decided to attack his unguarded point. In an attempt to foil this assault, Grifyn used the slippery ground to his advantage - he lifted one of his feet and intentionally made it slip, making him turn around to the direction of the Warg, who was still mid-pounce.

In mere seconds, he placed his guarding arm to block the attack, and launched a retaliating kick towards its head.

Archus was caught totally off guard by the attacking Wargs. He was awake for much too long to still be on guard duty, which caused his awareness to be decreased when the wargs began their assault. Before he knew it, the field headquarters was collapsing around him. Luckily he was already on the outside of the building and the debris merely bounced off his armor. When the granary tower came down, he was not so fortunate. Archus was forced to his knee as he raised his shield over his head to protect himself from the falling rocks. He felt no relief as dust erupted from the collapsed building. Just as he was about to recover from the rain of debris and stand to his feet, a Warg leaped at him through the dust, its maw only feet away from his face. In a last second effort to preserve his life, he called upon the Keepers to save him. While he knelt with his head down, a shield of light formed in front of him. The warg had fully committed to its surprise attack on Archus and slammed head first into the shield. This caused it to limp backwards in order to gain its senses again, allowing Archus to rise to his feet and reequip his spear.

"You'll need more than that to defeat me, foul beast!" Archus cried, alerting both allies and wargs to his presence in the thick cloud of dust.

Before Mission:

After the small brief and conversation with Sarah, Donar had proceeded to give out the medals/promotions out to the two she listed, Archus refused the promotion, and Leira hesitantly took the role of Second officer but she eventually warmed to it.

Donar had some understanding of why Archus wouldn't take it but he did not think on it anymore. The other thing that may have went unnoticed to most in the NS was that the KOA seemed to be slowly taking over the entire organization.

If that was so, he needed to do what he had to do before it got too far. It's a slow thing, so hopefully the Commander recovers fully before things get to far out of hand...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Present time:

Donar had preoccupied himself elsewhere from the structure everyone else was at. Situated in his own tent for a time before leaving it to do some more security walking, the weather more or less was less the be desired but not unwelcome.
he had opted his own tent for privacy, some of the men who went along never worked with him before and sometimes heard stories of his combat prowess.

Others heard of the mission of the morgogs when he called the retreat, something a lot of people called him a coward, not to his face, but enough that he eventually knew of it.

It was these thoughts that he heard roaring ans yelling, the structure that was not far collapsed and he heard the barking of whatever caused it. Oh wow, the wargs actually attacked here. Petty bastards... Donar moved through the others who were frantically trying to get near but were being confronted with quite a few wargs. This is too coordinated for them..

Donar got close to the wreckage that two of the wargs tried digging to get victims while two members, Archus and Henvo were trying to fight off two more.

Donar drew his weapon and rushed as quickly as he could towards the scene, the weather slowed him down some, but not enough he he got close enough before stopping and charged his sword with his Lightning Artes, "Enough of this!" Donar's spirit energy in the Lightning was crackling as he charged at the spot the two were fighting, "Lighting Blade!" He jumped into the air landing near all four wargs and slammed his sword into the ground, the Lightning created a shockwave which then Lightning bolts erupted attacking all four of the wargs.

The arte was devastating enough that soon after all four wargs died while being electrocuted. Baked dogs. Helping both the warriors and saving those buried in the rubble.

Donar stood looking at Archus and Henvo, "We need to get people to help un-bury the injured, i'll help hold the wargs back."

As soon as one of the wargs had been downed, the Alpha, the pack leader, sent in another 2 to help in regrouping. By that time, a group of wargs by the destroyed granary had been completely slaughtered in a single blow. Another 3 Wargs were sent to that location, these ones were not ordinary by any means, their size and ferocity were on a whole different level compared to the 'scouts' sent in before them. Anyone with the even the slightest sense of spirit energy would know these wargs were emitting a stronger energy than the others, almost as if their bodies radiated with spirit energy, making them weapons of greater destruction. By now most of the main force of the wargs were filtering slowly by the entrance to town.

(( OOC: Expect Wargs to use Artes now. Also, I will write as little as possible about attacking and formations, I will let players decide how Wargs go about their attacks in their posts according to the OOC attack information or unless I specifically state what happens.. ))

(( OOC: Target: AVAR // 2 ATK from Wargs; Beta and Gamma continued from last update.))
(( OOC: Alpha 1 and Beta 1 are charging into the fray but have not attacked yet. ))

The warg had fully committed to its surprise attack on Archus and slammed head first into the shield. This caused it to limp backwards in order to gain its senses again, allowing Archus to rise to his feet and reequip his spear.

The sight of the falling beast was a dangerous reminder of how close he'd been to death. One false move could have sealed their fate. The power of the earth ebbed away from him and he could tell the connection to the energy itself was weak in this region. As if trying to look through a dusty window. However he had no time to guess why for next to him he could feel the intense bloodlust filled gaze of two wargs. His companion wasn't yet responding to him and he had to wonder whether the toll of the spell cast had been that great.

They circled around him and he held the blade in a raised position to his chest. A tactical dance commenced as he tried to go around one of them while the other faced his back. Sweat and heat making itself known on his chest. "Come onnn ... easy now... good mutts ... nice mutts." he said under his breath as he got prepared to evade any and all attacks that came his way.

"You best take a good hard bite. Because I'm going to carve out ten times what you take.
" He spat directly at the warg in front of him before gearing his mind for complete self-defense. More were coming and he needed to brace for that phase of the battle.

A small group of allies ran up from behind and helped surround Avar. Knowing he had some people to share the burden with was helpful and he made a note to share a drink with these men if they made it out.

Assuming he made it that far.

"Cover me! I'm going for the ugly one!" he said as he hurtled himself towards the closer warg. A flurry of metal. Though he wasn't used to the blade in his hand he had enough experience to connect with most of his blows. Sadly it's size made it hard to dodge retaliation strikes by himself.[BETA].

"then stand back eager beaver! " leira yelled at Avar for being too close. they did well in taking 1 down together but the other 2 were now going at Avar. in the background leira could feel even more bloodlust from newcomer warg entering the town. she couldnt tell how many were out there but it was quite a few, just enough to maybe be a little too much for just the 2 of them.

...................LEIRA! LET ME......................

"..... hey mr... dont get ahead of yourself now~!...." the action was getting intense and leiras heart was racing from using her magic and also what was going on. the only weapon she had on her was a short sword not even taken out but her arms and legs were braced with good solid armor. Avar was doing the melee thing and that kept the wargs attention away from her. but her inner self was fighting for control just like the battle with the vindur bear. she tried to keep it down since then, but now it seems it came back.

............LEIRA! LET ME KILL!................

just then, her 'aura' changed. she calmly walked closer to the action, and then knelt down. she grabbed some grass and dirt and threw it in the air with 2 hands. her magi shaped the materials into sharp leaves and blades of grass in midair before lauching at her target by pointing to it with her open arms.

Before Archus could make his advance on the unlucky Warg that chose him for a target, a flash of lighting fell out of the sky and blinded the Paladin. After a few moments he lowered his shield and saw that there were three fried Wargs in a triangle around him. In the center was Donar, a high ranking official in the Norhad Swords that Archus had never personally met before. The Paladin was awed by his lightning attack, the likes of which he had never seen from a swordsman. 'Damn, that was a powerful attack, no wonder he is valued by Antarah so highly.' Archus thought, before Donar started barking orders. He never had time to notice the men and women trapped in the remains of the granary. They needed saving soon, being trapped under rubble was a sure fire way to become warg food in the current environment.

As Archus started for the granary, he noticed three massive wargs approaching from the same road that the scouts came from. They were only hazy figures through the dust, but he could see a column of them running at full speed toward Donar. The sound of their massive paws slamming into the ground at once was a foreboding noise. The two wargs behind the one in the front spread out just before reaching Donar, and each of them made an attack. Archus feared that even Donar would not be able to handle a combined attack, so he lifted his hand and shouted a battle prayer, "KEEPERS, I AM YOUR HUMBLE SERVANT, PLEASE LEND ME THE STRENGTH I NEED TO PRESERVE MY ALLIES IN THIS TIME OF NEED!"

At the end of his boisterous prayer, a wall of prismatic light exactly like the one he used earlier to protect himself formed between Donar and the Wargs. All Archus could do was wait and hope that it was enough to save him.

Henvo flattened his ears against the back of his head, hearing the noise of thunder from a comrade's attack. What kind of being had the ability to call the very storm to him? This was not a human, surely, and Henvo rused to his location... But he was mistaken. Yes, it was a human. By the earth, how could these strange, mostly hairless, two legged creatures do such things? Reguardless, the other wargs had something about them, something primal. Something nonsensical, something he'd sensed only in his brother Metal Noise before. These creatures used magic.

Rushing forwards, Henvo heard Archus shout something. It didn't matter, the wilderness inside of him called for blood. Drawing his scimitar in his other hand, he slashed once at the head warg (Theta1) once, spinning and swiping with his axe. Springing back behind the one who could call the storm, henvo let loose a knife, spinning end over end and sticking in the overgrown wolf's shoulder. His feet left skidmarks in the mud from where he'd run, and the rain made his hair slick and wet. He gripped his axe tightly, resisting the long, low growl that usually rose in his throat during battle. As his brother Battle Cry might have said, today was as good a day to fight and die as any.

Title: Living Immolation
Location: Milestone Fortress, Norhad Swords HeadQuarters
Date: Eclasen 18th 997 C.Y.A.D. 1pm

" It is written that the SwordMasters transformed the vast and verdant forest of Norhad into what it is today, the Norhad Plains. They did this by Burning the woodland to the ground with a Infernal Ocean."

- The King of Kingdoms, Western Imperial Archives.

TIMESHIFT IN EFFECT

The group assigned to clear out the ravaging Wargs returned from a successful mission. The new recruits did an admirable job in holding their ground against a powerful foe. The use of spirit energy was an essential part of their victory. While they were able to kill off the majority of the Wargs that entered into town, some had retreated and escaped. The group took another full day to track and put down the stragglers. According to the information provided by the Kingdom Affairs Office, it seemed that they were short a Warg in their hunt. Many thought that the Alpha was the one that had escaped and considering how much range these animals can cover in a single day, the chance to hunt it had now passed. The officers however viewed the mission completed as far as they were concerned and were ready to return back to the Fortress.

It was dark by the time the airship arrived at port. A messenger at the docks informed the team to reassemble in the main hall at 1.00 pm the following day to formally report the mission details to Acting-Commander Milliarium. Normally, a written report by all officers would have sufficed, however it would seem that more was involved than a mere mission report. When that time came, all were present before the Commander standing in a semi-circle around her.

During the time he spent at that ruined hamlet, fighting against those Wargs, he remembered something - his origin. He was once a simple lad from a lowly village, doing whatever he can do help his humble family in their everyday struggle for survival, much like everyone else did. And now, here he was, fighting against ferocious beasts and journeying throughout the lands as if it was the same as fetching water from the well, or trimming the grass from the farms.

How could he do such feats so easily? Only one thing could have held the answer.

Thus, when they were aboard the ship, heading back to their headquarters, Grifyn had slightly regained vision of his goal. Finding out the truth behind his father's mysterious last words. What could be his "true destiny"? The answer lie behind the secrets that his amulet would unveil, and the puzzles that the key within it would unlock.

Once they arrived back at the headquarters, Grifyn immediately ran off to his quarters, and gathered all sorts of information he had come upon so far.

He was finally back on track.

Sarah listened to the rather vague details around the Warg incident. Vice Commander Belluam was not one for thoroughness unless it was to decimate an enemy, Leira was still a greenhorn commissioned officer, Archus had quietly turned down the offer of being promoted. Lieutenant Donar was the only one who gave a proper report which was no surprise considering the military training he received. " I do not know whether you noticed it or not, but the fact that these Wargs returned to a place they already destroyed, may indicate something mysterious is going on. The village and others like it were near several military outposts in the region. Until today, there has been no precedence regarding a pack of Wargs attacking on this large a scale."

The discussion continued until a courier ran through the open gates and was fast approaching them. He saluted Sarah and began explaining of two urgent issues. The first one was a possible kidnapping, but stated as a missing persons case. He listed a bunch of name, Dr. Fassbender, Dr. Branche, Sir Whilheim, Official Marques etc. They were all the names of prominent A.S.A.R.M. scientists, Government Officials and others. This list was a compilation of missing persons reports collected over the past year. The functions of these individuals would indicate there was more at stake here than just power and money extortion or ransom.

The second emergency was rapidly growing fire on the outskirts of the Welwyn territory, near the contested border. A military scout-ship was patrolling the area and noticed a forest fire yesterday evening. They flew to the outposts to send a warning and possible aid. Apparently 3 towns with populations under 1000 each were skirting the forest that was currently under fire. All those people were in danger of dying.

" Sarah... deploy the fleet." said a voice in the distance. " The peoples safety comes first." Master Genzah slowly made his way to the group, using his sword to lean on. While the group had been away dealing with the Warg problem, the Master Commander recovered quite well the last few days. " I will leave the details to you. "

" Yes, Sir." she signal at a guard nearby. " Sound the Horn, Emergency Assembly of all Personnel."

Reinhardt Reinhardt OOC: In the list of names that are given, you can use it to have Grifyn notice that his fathers name was in there.

Avar was busy gorging himself in the mess hall when a sound akin to a stampede made itself known. Soon the men all started to rush to the door, leaving their meals unattended and dust in their wake. Spoon still in mouth, he began to feel an all too familiar headache.

"Never a moments rest I tellsya..." he grumbled while chewing on his wooden soup spoon. Eyeing the steamy contents off the bowl he quickly downed what he could and ran to the door while fanning his cooking tongue.

"Hawt! Hawt!" he spat out as his tongue swelled as if to lecture him about his actions.

Minutes later he was among the gathered throng with no clue what was happening and a burnt tongue to show for it.

ENGAGEMENT SCENARIO

  • Date: Eclasen 19th 997 C.Y.A.D. 6 am.
    Location: Norhad Plains Northern Border
    TIMESKIP IN EFFECT

By the Command of Antarah under the watchful supervision of Sarah, The Defiant and all three Scout ships were to be filled to the brim with personnel, supplies, caravans and beasts of burden. Lieutenant Milliarium called a general assembly to inform everyone of the plan. The Kingdom Affairs Office has dispatched a large contingent of militia from the Norhad Border Patrol to evacuate the first village. The Norhad Swords were to send their mercenary guild members and local militia to aid in the evacuation of the other 2 villages.

The plan was twofold. After dividing the Norhad forces between the villages, they would divide once again fro the plan. First off was to fend off the fire from reaching the villages. At top speed, it would take over 12 hours to reach the location. By then it was estimated the fire would reach 1/2 a KM from the edge of the forest and a few hundred from the village itself. This group was tasked to do anything and everything possible to slow the fires advance. The second group would use the scout ships and Caravans to move peoples away from the village as fast as possible.

OOC: There are three ways to help fight the fire.
    1. Use of specific types and elements of artes to target the fire itself.
    2. Controlling the fire by chopping down the bushes and trees
    3. Tunneling a deep and wide trench just before the village.
Try and team up if you can with other players by pre-planning ahead.

After unintentionally hearing the list of the missing people, which included an unexpected name - Marvin Deunalf, a close friend of his father who frequently visited them.

That person would usually engage with Ligern, Grifyn's father, in a very complex conversation that lasts for hours. Grifyn did not know what they talked about, but his father sure did enjoy talking with that man. He even came to the funeral, and gave Grifyn the support he needed during trying times.

But Grifyn was confused. Barely a year ago, before even joining this mercenary group, Grifyn met with him. And yet, now he is missing? This greatly piqued Grifryn's intrigue. Why would such a person go missing? If there is one thing that Grifyn knows, it is that either Sarah or Antarah would hold the answers behind this mystery.

That, however, will have to wait. For right now, Grifyn has to do his job.

And that would be to help out in preventing a flaming catastrophe.

Grifyn, along with several other mercenaries and volunteers, headed off to the woods and started to cut down trees, in order to prevent the fires from spreading further.

"Mind yourselves now! Don't let the fire get past you! Focus on those dry woods!" he shouted at the disorganized group of soldiers and recruits. The fire licked at the air, dry and irritating as it was, causing people to be unable to continue staring at their adversary for extended periods. "Shift gods damnit! SHIFT! Don't just stand there!" pushing his way past some men who were shielding their eyes and attacking at the trees with a dropped woodcutters axe rather than his own blade.

"Cut as much of the Forrest around it as you can! We're gonna starve this fucker! So heave you useless sods!!!" he challenged the pride of the men present there and got some response from the sterner men of substance. Surrounding the problematic woods they did their best to assist the others. The sounds of felling woods brought about both cheers and jeers when the woods fell in the wrong direction.

"We've got your back, Carrot top!" he said to another group not too far from their location with one distinct member.

Just like old times, Grifyn heard loud yelling not far from his location. That was probably either Donar, or Belluam. The latter seems like the better choice as she has been known, throughout Grifyn's time in the Norhad Swords, as a terrifying monster of a commander.

Much to his surprise, it was a new face, and a very large and muscular one at that. This big man seemed to be rather loud and fired up, for his energetic presence affected his own group. They were catching up to his pace, whacking at the trees with their blades and chopping those wood towers down.

Grifyn's group, on the other hand, focused on doing their own thing - some used their spirit energy to assist them in cutting down the trees, others relied on sheer physical power and their various weaponry. Grifyn, as expected, did not follow this norm.

Instead, he chose to hatch an intricate plan that would bring down several trees at once. He struck various sections of several trees, slightly trimming them down and tampering with the balance of their weight. He, then with a quick and powerful charging blow, brought down one tree, which in turn, fell towards another, and so the chain went on.

In such a short amount of time, and very little effort, he had brought down more trees than the rest of his group combined.

........ one crisis after another...... these towns are like easy targets for almost anything~!
leiras thoughts were mostly of the poor people and animals that were probably really scared right now from the smoke and fire over their horizon. she wondered the whole trip there what her roll would be once they landed. it didnt take long for her to realize she would need to help with the caravan setups and hooking up the papaopamus to tow families away. the beasts sensed the danger and were struggling to even get out of the ships. leira had to calm them down, the feeling of such fear was almost too much for her. the animals had a real fear of forest fires, their instinct is to run away from them after all. once her job was complete a small group was assigned to her field captain to help out with the trench.

before the ships took off to bring the towns people to safety leira had taken an axe and shovel just in case. " all right everyone the captains orders are to make a hole as wide and tall as your shovel." she started to dig the earth too when the command went out. it was much safer to dig holes then it was to fight the inferno she felt. " remember to throw your dirt away from the fire captain wants a dirt wall behind his trench."

ally 4 atk dice = 3,6,5,4 = 18 hp

"Those other guys are showing you all up! Are you just going to stand their on your legs and flail your arms about?! OR ARE YOU GOING TO CUT SOME WOOD?!" raising his axe and bringing it down on another tree as he avoided the falling branches that had caught fire.
"Show this sorry excuse for kindling who's boss! Two men to a tree. Quick. Hard and fast. The fire is choking us of the very air we breath! That village down there is not gonna be able to handle our weary bodies and empty stomachs if it's gone you gits! AND I WANT MY MEAL!" he roused them, not by goading their honor but rather on an untapped resource, their burning appetite.

"Keep up with those other men! The one of you who gets the most trees down get's a meal on me! " he laughed as he felt another tree collapse beneath his swings. But now his arms grew more weary. The sweat on his brow was boiling instead of cooling him. They needed to move faster.

Through a clearing in the smoke he could also see another group making trenches in preparation for the spreading fire. Anything to slow this monster down.

COLLAB POST: BELLAUM AND HENVO
Bellaum was at the archery range, looking over Henevo's shoulder and lifting up is elbow and arm. "Remember to keep a finger put to help guide your arrow true. And always keep both eyes open." Henvo snorted, but did as Bellaum instructed. He was uneasy that he was so close to a human being, but he had since put on other clothes. They were itchy and rough against his fur, But tolerable. Letting out a deep breath, he let the arrow fly, and hit just four inches above the center of the target. "Good, you're learning. Didn't I tell ya archery was easy!?" Belluam laughed, and slapped him on the back as a friendly gesture. The ferus shook his head with a grunt, still not seeing the point of the exercise. "Alpha, I have seven knives." He said, taking a few steps back, "And an axe." In the blink of an eye, he'd pulled three out, two in his right hand, one in his left. The first two thudded into the targets center as close as they could go, the second went just below. He spun, drawing and throwing his handaxe in one quick motion, fitting perfectly into the pattern he'd created. "Why must soldiers learn to load and shoot bow if knives are faster? Why do they not use axes instead?" Belluam sighed, and grimaced. She had been dealing with Henevo's unfortunate ignorance for the majority of the day. Although she enjoyed drilling and teaching recruits, Henevo's peculiar way of thinking could be of an annoyance sometimes. "Henvo, Henvo, Henvo, my poor ignorant dog. I want you to a that again, but stand well further away. Try to penetrate as deep as you can into the target, then you'll see. " Belluam commanded as she pointed to stand alot further away. The ferrus in disguise shrugged. "Enemies will not stand that far away unless they use the bow," the distaste for the word 'bow' was not indistinguishable in his voice, hidden under layers of respect, but it was still there. "If they use bow, They will be clumsy. What will the enemy do when I snarl in his face, hit me with it? The stick will break." He picked up the bow and pulled at the string, the wood flexed, prooving his point. "Then I will bite him, and laugh."

Belluam again laughed a little harder, almost coming to tears. "You still have a lot to learn about war Henevo. In war it won't be a duel, and that one bow man might kill you before you reach him. That's why we wear armour and use shields." Belluam put a hand on his shoulder. "Just remember, a bow is the everyman weapon. Have respect for it because not everyone can be as strong growth as you or I." Henvo shrugged again. "We are not wooden targets to be set out and shot at. Enemies must see us to shoot. And we move like the wind." he stated. The humans war was much more different than his own peoples. They had not the sharp teeth and claws he and his brothers did, nor their thick hide. They made so much noise when they moved, and trampled good earth and hunting grounds. "Why do humans south of the mountains fight?" Henvo asked, "They have farms they mark. They make great buildings out of stone. Why do others take what is not theirs?" Such was not the way of his people, who howled warnings to eachother when territory came too close. There was respect between the wolves that men did not have for eachother.

Belluam sighed as she recollected memories of her past. Her entire aura dampens and her usual fiery spirit was put out for a moment. Belluam looked away, out beyond the walls of the Fortress and couldn't help but think; 'what am I doing with my life?'

"Might makes right Henevo. The sooner you learn that the better. The strong survive and the weak perish. You show no remorse and no mercy... Might makes right."
Belluam said in a monotone as if reciting a pledge. In a sense, it was one. It was hers.

Henvo was more confused than before he'd asked the question. "But alpha, the humans come to other lands and take what is not theirs, have they no understanding? The weak die on their own, do th-" CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! Something was making an extremely loud sound. Henvo promptly clapped his hands over his sensitive ears, warding off the harsh noise. "AND WHY DO HUMANS SOUTH OF MOUNTAINS HAVE METAL THAT HOWLS FOR THEM?" He attempted to shout over the din. No sooner did he see men crowding towards the soind did he realize it was an alarm. Tossing the bow aside with clear disgust, he ran to follow the others.

IMG_3661.jpg
Henvo smelled the fire long before he saw it. He was not a fan of out of controll fires. And this one had to be the biggest he'd ever seen. The shock was apparent on his face more than anything else. After taking a few steps back, he steeled his nerves and drew his axe, finding the loudest voice he could. Which at the moment, was not the alpha, instead it happened to be his friend and recruitee buddy, Avar.

Henvo did not have much experience chopping down trees. His people rarely had the need to use wood. Nonetheless, it was a pretty straightforwards thing to do. One just had to hit the tree hard enough. After satisfying himself, he stopped and looked around. Of all of the flames that had erupted from the spirits know where, and after all the smoke that had gone into the air, wouldn't someone have gotten hurt by now?

Dashing over to Avar in that strange, two-legged canine like way he had of running on the balls of his feet, he attemted to shout over the rest of the commotion: "Are there wounded?" Henvo hoped there weren't, but he knew that there was more than likely to be at least a few. At least the upside would be he'd have an excuse to leave. Anything to get away from this smoke-choked air, and ANYTHING to get away from that fire. It was far too hot where he was now, and it set his more animalistic parts on edge.
