" Welcome to the World of Elegos.

Your arrival here is a blessing to all life in this world.

May the winds of fortune smile upon you, and grant your life with peace and prosperity.

And may you, the one holding this life warm the Universe with your good deeds."

- Hadiyah, the Guide to Righteousness Peacekeeper.
The Glad Tidings of the Newborn

============================================
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
============================================
When the world was still young, angels and demons fought for control over it.
These spirit forces did battle on the plains of existence ravaging the land they coveted greatly.
The mortals of Elegos caught in between this great war, were powerless to defend themselves, much less the home given to them by the Universe.
Celestial years passed by with no end in sight for the abuse of the world and its inhabitants.
All life feared the planets imminent destruction.
Before an irreparable wrong could be accomplished to the planet, Elegos herself used her life-force and empowered 10 mortals,
individuals who were to represent all life on Elegos, to take part in this great war and end it once and for all time.
The 10 mortals, from then onward known as the Arbitrators of the Elements gathered together and united their powers completely wiping out all of the spirit forces that waged this terrible battle.
Soon thereafter Elegos appointed 2 individuals known as the Celestial Guardians and tasked them to watch over the 2 gates that connected the spirit realm to the physical planes.
Since then eons have passed.
The tale of the Great War and the legend of the Arbitrators are now passed on to children as bedtime stories.
Parents regale this story to them so that they may come to appreciate how precious life really is.
However it now seems legend will become reality.
It is the year 997 C.Y.A.D.,
and unbeknownst to most life on Elegos, the stories of the past are about to relive their glory with the blood of innocents.
Nearly 1000 years previous, unknown forces brought about the ruination of Eden and She'ol, the Celestial Guardians tasked with forever protecting the gates of the spirit realm.
The end would have come about much sooner, if not for the fact that the Guardians sealed the gate with their life-force.
However the seal was measured to only last 1000 years.
Because of these events, those of us with the knowledge of this ominous certain future,
delve into the research of finding a way to prevent another Great War to wreak havoc upon our world.
This information must be kept secret. In the wrong hands it could lead to disaster.
Title: Journey Forth!
Location: Halberton Bay near international waters / Onboard the Ferry MKS Hood
" The outset of ones journey is only memorable when one does not reach their destination."
- WayMaster Tie Sha
The Port of Maxwell had been busy since before the dawn. People hustled to and fro buying, trading selling. The summer months brought as much trade and goods as the harbor would be able to handle. Sea vessels were the primary means to get these needed goods in before the settling of winter, for then the ice sheets would float down from the Northern parts and much of the bay would be impassable by sea.  Airships could bring in  limited goods but was a very costly expense. However material goods were not the only things that were being moved around. Port Maxwell main harbor that had ferries travel Halberton Bay to get to Port City Victoria in the Kingdom of Welwyn. Many traders, diplomats and vacationers traveled down there as Port City Victoria was one of a few International Ports open for travel around the Elegos. An old navy ship turned Ferry; MKS Hood, left port for the southern hub. It was here that four travelers would meet an unexpected destiny.
A young man named Grifyn Varelle ( @Reinhardt ) a native of Maxwell Kingdom had become a drifter of sorts, adventuring where he could and working when he could. His next journey was to Welwyn Kingdom. A timid adolescent who goes by Timore Williams( @Creekstar) worked onboard as the ships accountant. Although young his family's company dealt in trade and he was well versed in his assignment. A traveling Sword, Kairi Kudo ( @Kairikudo ) rested on the top deck overlooking the ocean seeking new income and closure to her past. Finally a Blind traveling musician, Cecil Sanger ( @cokemonster) was present aboard, practicing on his instrument for all to hear. Not many dared to interrupt. Near midday, the ship had crossed the halfway point of its trip. They would arrive at Port City Victoria by the early evening.
The Norhad Swords. A Mercenary Brigade endorsed by the Kingdoms of Welwyn and Maxwell. They were charged with the defense of the Norhad Plains North Western area of the Continent. Today however, Vice Commander Turian Kuhaku ( @Helral ) was testing out a new acquisition in the form of a Scout Airship, The Wings of Inverness, for air and sea trials. He was accompanied by a small crew he chose. Albert Dae'dium ( @Bacon is fluffy ) was knowledgeable when it came to Airship, a refurbished military craft. Turian also thought it wise to have Alberta Becker ( @Orikanyo) accompany them. She had a fear of everything technology including Airships. While a trial run was less than ideal, it would let her become accustomed to the sensation. At least that is what was hoped for. Both had been with the Mercenary Brigade for nearly a month now. The last person was a new addition. Eiss Therck (@Kai Kontra ) For some reason he was desirous of having a means to gain money. His contribution to the guild goes without being said. Someone constantly in a suit of armor would feel at home in a mercenary guild of sorts.
Mood: Fearful.
Current location: Hugging the mast.
"Blast this damned vessel to the pits, ships do not belong in the sky and I don't either.
Accursed thing will be the death of me,
barely survive that metal beast and now this."
It was needless to say Aly did not like being upon this ship, the thing is she really didn't have much of a choice in the matter. She looked like a housecat that was just dipped in water, clinging to safety with her nails sticking into the wood of the mast, as if she would come flying off the ship with any moment. It was needless to say she did NOT want to be here, in fact she wanted to be anywhere BUT there. She was ordered by the damned fools she works for to get on the damned vessel, hell they said it'd be "good for her to learn how to deal with technology." As if that would help her get over her issues with the damn thing!
Who needs it!
Not Alberta becker thats who!
She doesn't need to fly through the air!
She doesn't have wings!
She doesn't NEED wings!
Shes fine on the ground, where she can feel the dirt on her feet and not have to be 100 FEET IN THE GODDAMN AIR!!!
Now she was stuck here with three fools, fools who probably WANTED to see her break! Oh but she won't! No way, NO WAY would she be the first to fall in this battle of wits and stamina! She would succeed and conquer all trials that stand before her! Nothing shall be beyond her reach!!
THOSE IDIOTS WANT HER TO RIDE THIS BLASTED MACHINE! SHE WILL! SHE WILL NOT LOSE THIS DAY!
....
Of course... that's if she could pry herself away from the mast... "...Are... we moving yet?' the woman asked, unable to open her eyes to the world around her. She hated it, being this afraid of anything that was so simple to others... Blast them and their stupidity!
It was hours before Albert and his crew was scheduled to take flight, but he couldn't sleep soundly knowing he was about to board an airship. A newly acquired one at that, it felt like an honor to him to be the ship's first surveyor. Although Airships weren't particularly new to him, he had never been the first chosen to inspect such things, mainly because there were numerous members of the Nordhad swords who were more experienced than him. As he approached the right side of the ship, the starboard, he felt himself tense up just a bit as he reached out to touch the ship's hull. Without realizing it, his hand had become slightly unsteady and his breathing slightly out of rhythm. " Calm down, deep breaths!", he closed his eyes and intentionally took a deep breath, before exhaling. It's a long established habit he formed along side the naturists, a group of people who often taught their students how to meditate and calm their nerves. As his hand lost its tension, he placed his palm on the ship and took in the feeling for his craftsmanship. One could tell how well a ship was made just by surveying its haul for inconsistencies. An amateur ship builder would often leave grooves from the original planks by not spending the time to buff them out for uniformity. Albert found his group chose well when they picked the Inverness.
Date: Feusen 1st 997 C.Y.A.D. / 10 am
Although Albert was going to be traveling with a few acquaintances for the test run, he often found that a ship's overall maintenance before a flight was largely done by a crew of airship operators and engineers. A standard procedure for the mercenary group after a tragic crash landing when Albert was a child who had first joined them. As such he took the opportunity to partially fulfill his role as the ship's surveyor during the test. His ulterior motive was gaining experience and trust so that one day, he might be chosen to be an operator for missions as well. While on his tour of the ship, made sure to take notice of how fancy it was, with intricate designs which seemed more like cosmetic design more than anything. Each symbol inscribed on the ship had a hind of residual spiritual power from its previous flights, no doubt these symbols on its railing was to prevent too much wind from interfering with the crew during flight. However as a ship designed to flight in the air, he had no doubt everything was designed and crafted using alchemic properties he wasn't entirely familiar with.
Looking up he found the ship's sails, which seemed to be a canopy of sorts. Albert assumed the white fabric above him would actually inflate upwards like an airballoon, but instead of oil powering a flaming to elevate the ship, it would be spiritual power exuded from the levi stone. Albert shook his head and admonished himself for realizing this was all based on conjecture, for he had never studied this function in great detail. Still he admired the embroided sail and its interlocked stitches as the maintenance crew cleaned it off. Under the deck he found the Levi stone, held in place by a metallic sphere used to house and draw energy from the stone. Albert wasn't allowed to calibrate it,but the operators allowed him to watch as they fiddled with the array of symbols with made up its alchemic structure. The operator's hands hovered over a three dimensional sphere, explaining that alchemy wasn't perfect, a fact Albert understood all too well. Certain things get corrupted in a machine's line of code overtime and must be repaired and maintained if the user wants it to be reliable and efficient. As the operator reconstructed the code, he heard the slight vibrations coming from the tubules and pipes throughout the ship, reacting to the stone. Such a sound was music to Albert's ears, as it was the sound of a happy ship.
Date: Feusen 1st 997 C.Y.A.D. / 11 am
Just moments before flight, Albert sat upon the ship's deck to perform his daily meditation. Criss cross apple sauce, he thought upon being seated. The ship begun to hum as it began to power up for full flight. As said before, it would have been like music to his ears, safe for the fact that one of his crewmates were a little frightened. Her bad vibes really was a damper upon his mood, he could feel her fear even with his back turned to her. During his bebriefing he had remembered a slight detail about her fear of technology, but from the looks of things, his captain really likes to mess with us albert thought. Turning to face the women shaking in her boots he found not the stern battle hardened mistress he expected, but rather a nervous wreck. He approached her as he noticed her typhoon of emotions, ranging from a scared bird to an palpable blood lust. "...Are... we moving yet?', she asked. Her fingers were practically digging into the ship's mast and face scrunched up from her adamantly closing her eyes in fear. Albert placed a hand on her shoulder hoping to calm her and said, " We've already been in flight for a couple of minutes now. The ship was designed to force the turbulence away from it as it takes off. So you wouldn't notice it moving witho't taking a gander over at your surroundings".
@Orikanyo
A short boy, eyes widened slightly as he surveyed the diverse passengers littering the ship, emerged from the lower part of the ship where he had been working. The voyage was about half way over, so his work as the ship's accountant was more or less finished. In truth, it wouldn't have even taken him that long, but he had been trying to prolong it so that he could have an excuse to avoid talking to the other people working on the ship. Maybe he would just go find somewhere on the top deck to sit for a while; after all, spending so much time below deck had gotten a little claustrophobic. There were more people up there, though. Maybe they wouldn't care about someone his age as much? After all, he was short enough that he wasn't very noticeable at times. What if someone recognized him, though? He hadn't considered that possibility, but he probably should have; after all, he was returning to Port City Victoria after having been gone for only a few months. Had his planted evidence worked? Or did people think he was still alive and keep searching for him? What if there were posters all over town saying that he was missing, with his picture on them for all to see? That would be bad. What if law enforcement hadn't figured out the connection between the planted evidence and his stepfather, or hadn't arrested him? What if he ran into the man? What if...
He accidentally walked into another person while he was distracted by his incessant worrying. Great. Now he had something else entirely to worry about. He had made his way to the top deck anyways while thinking, and had bumped into a woman who had been gazing out over the ocean. "I-I'm s-so sorry! I, uh, wasn't looking where I was going, and- ah! I'm really, really sorry!" Timore's stammered apologies were only barely audible, especially with the ocean wind blowing past. His face had turned pink with embarrassment, and he backed up slightly. He felt like everyone was staring at him, though they probably weren't. He really should have just stayed below and revised the accountant's logs again. Or maybe he could have found a book to read? It was too late now.
((I'm just going to tag everyone in the area))
Up abroad the ship was the Raven haired female, her elbows were propped up on the edge of the ship as she looked out at the vast blue sea. A bored expression was plastered on her face. She was starting to miss the thrill of battle that she has gone a whole week without. The woman had bandages on her arm from the last battle she was in. A small sigh passed her lips as her finger tip tapped the wooden frame. She was lost in thought, thinking about the next job she will take. Her thoughts soon disturbed by the sound of music being played by Cecil Sanger @cokemonster she glanced over for a second only to feel someone bump into her from the other side. Her head turn as black eyes fell on Timore. Her look still held the same uncaring expression as she stated in a blunt manner "If you can't apologize without stammering then don't bother. Besides, you're so small I barely felt it." Ah and now she was being her kind self as usual
Slight, no more than coughs of cords were released and carried off in the wind. The strings under delicate, caring hands vibrated exquisitely. He allowed them to ring all their sound out naturally, causing elongated pauses of haunting notes to dissipate under the clamor of the sea. In these pauses, he curled the simple hardwood pegs ever so slowly. The notes changed as they hung there, and when they quickly quieted he strummed them again, repeating it all with content.
Cecil had done so since the sun's rising where he was propped up against a barrel of overlooked supplies on the upper deck. The great galleon's crew and passengers had yielded unpleasant company so far, many not inclined to the arts and none forthcoming of the tales of ships lost to ravaging storms, sea-monstrosities, or rampant mutiny that he had expected to cross. He understood it well. To have a niche, especially one akin to a funeral practitioner, dissuaded the general masses in favor of attracting the like minded. It was a trade off that had won him bread and board in his short years. Yet they also left him scraping for coin for the occasional stretch of weeks. He would just have to hope a welcoming tavern would contain some who were not so easily intimidated. Nautical terminology was interesting to hear from the passing sailor, but Cecil could only find ease dropping so entertaining before tiring of the same old exchanges. And so, he kept the cords as his only distracting company.
The hypnotic spell was broken by the bouncing of two passengers close by. More precisely, it was a woman's outburst which caused his fingers to grate on the Lute's neck. His plaster, frozen features winced for a second, before evening. He cocked his ear vaguely in their direction.
Motionless as a statue, Eiss stood on the airship's deck with arms firmly crossed against his chest. It was his first time working for the Norhad Swords, his interest in them solely resting in the promising reward they offered for the job. He had to admit the crew was smaller than expected, only four members with himself included. He had made no effort to converse with any of them before boarding the airship, and he certainly made no effort while it was in flight. The only thing he knew about them were their names. Instead of pointless small talk, he preferred to  observe his fellow crewmembers to learn about them. His focus had settled on the woman, the most entertaining of the bunch. Her clinging on the mast and her occasional outburst were all too comical in the eyes of Eiss. His expression was concealed thanks to the helmet he permanently wore, but beneath that armor was a mile wide smirk. Unfortunately, his entertainment looked as if it might come to an untimely end, for another crewmember had come to the woman's aid with reassurance. And here Eiss was hoping she would eventually snap the mast in two with her death grip.
( @Orikanyo @Bacon is fluffy )
Timore flinched back as the woman's black gaze turned towards him. Oh no. Her uncaring expression, to him, seemed like one of annoyance; he wanted to just disappear so badly. Her words didn't help. He didn't really care about being called small, but being told off for apologizing? How was he supposed to deal with that? "I-I'm really sorry, I didn't... Er, I mean, um, I..." He had messed up and stammered out another apology. Why did he have to come up to this deck? Feeling a little claustrophobic was way better than this. Why had he taken this stupid job anyways?
Timore decided that he would beat a hasty retreat. That was usually best. Unless the person chased after him. He stopped once he had reached one of the masts in the middle of the ship and there were one or two people between the woman he had stupidly collided with and him. He wondered if he should just return to the area below deck where he had been working, or... Huh. The musical chords he had vaguely heard being plucked out in the background before had stopped. Great. That probably meant that the musician who had been playing was staring at him now, too, thinking he was a complete idiot. Surveying the area to try and spot the performer, he noticed him propped up against a barrel off to the side a little. The man was holding a lute, which had probably been the source of the music, and, more interestingly, his eyes were covered. Did that mean he couldn't see? In that case, maybe he had stopped playing for some other reason, and wasn't interested by the calamity that had just occurred. Satisfied by that possibility, Timore glanced back to the woman he had run into. Was she following, or just ignoring him?
"YOU FOOLISH HALFWIT! You think I'll believe your words for a second!?! I'd fly right off the moment I let go, don't you dare think you can trick me you devil! brutish devil!"
Indeed she let loose upon the man a furious tirade of insults and vocal lashings. This woman was not known for her stability, or for her... eloquence. or for much in the was of being lady-like in the very slightest. Her nails snuck deep into the wooden mast once more, as if expecting the man to try and tear her off. "Come any closer and I will...." she thought about ti for a moment... She couldn't beat him... She'd have to let go for that.
She COULD kick him back to the hell he crawled out from, but she'd possibly lose her grip...
...
Then again she didn't feel the wind, perhaps what he said had warrant. maybe... just maybe... she could let go and not die horribly. Maybe, but first she had to open her eyes.
Yes, just open them. Just one first, then the other. Just gotta get it done Aly! Don't lose heart now! Don't let this machine beat you!
Shivering like a frightened dog in a thunderstorm she slowly opened one eye to peer around, seeing Albert first. Okay, everything was good so far... there was the armored guy to, guess everything was fine.
Wait... were those clouds?
...
How high were they up in the air?
HOW HIGH WERE THEY UP IN THE AIR!
It was at that realization is when the blanked out, falling face first into the ship floor from utter fright. It seems her getting used to the airship was going to take abit.
@Kai Kontra @Bacon is fluffy
Kairi's brow arched as she looked down at the flinching male. Despite her rude remarks and insults, in her own way she was saying its OK? Maybe. Then again with her who knows. "Did you not get the hint from before? Stop apologizing." Her tone and expression hadn't changed as she said that. Way to go Kairi, your comforting techniques worked so well that the poor timore ran off. Kairi just stared for a moment as he ran away. Her shoulders shrugged as she turned her attention back towards the musician who had stopped playing his instrument.
"Why'd you stop playing? I was starting to enjoy the melody." She said looking at the male propped against the barrel. She proceeded to lean against the ships side. The arm Timore had bumped into had begun to bleed through the bandage, meaning he opened up her wound again, not that she bothered to. Check.
Albert was taken aback by her harsh words, slightly rearing his hand back as her fear turned to rage. "YOU FOOLISH HALFWIT! You think I'll believe your words for a second!?! I'd fly right off the moment I let go, don't you dare think you can trick me you devil! brutish devil!". She roared at him while still upholding that same defenseless stance of hers. Albert couldn't feel anything but sorry for her as it seemed much more like a puppy yapping at a stranger than a fierce warrior. He nodded his head, almost drowning the tirade out for a moment, " Ya yea lady, lemme know when yer ready to calm down". Albert scratched his head and looked on as she fell into deep thought, her eyes slightly twitching back at him as she forced them to gaze out at her surroundings. First at Albert and then her other companion Eiss, before suddenly losing all tension in her body.
Albert sprung out and caught her just as her limp self was careening to the hard wood floor. He exhaled deeply, shaking his head at the woman in his arms. " Don go decorating the ship with yer blood on my watch, idiot". Albert caught her right beneath her neck, doing his best to not touch sensitive areas and at the gut to cradle her in his arms momentarily. He was slightly uneasy catching a girl, especially since she was so unlady like. He gently set her down and propped himself up against the mast she was hanging on to for dear life not a moment before. Catching his breath he opened his eyes to see another man in their presence, another mercenary by the name of Eiss. Albert was dumbfounded by the person he saw before him, one who barely gave him an impression to begin with. There was no vibe he could possibly ascertain from a man fully clad in armor, one which was slightly unsettling shade of jet black and mythic symbols. It was almost as if the man wasn't alive until Albert gazed upon him. Eiss gave him this tickle feeling; an unexplained but instinctual feeling of distrust. No it wasn't the strange armor which made him leery, but rather it was what leaked through the veil which pissed Albert off.
He inhaled deeply with his eyes closed, and exhaled deeply in turn to wash the tension from his body. " Yer lucky I couldn't tell if you were smiling, Eiss".
Grifyn's next destination was somewhere in the kingdom of Welwyn. He did not know where, but he knew it was somewhere there. If there was one thing he trusts, it's his gut feeling. And right now, it is telling him to go to Welwyn. He might find some answers regarding his father's secrets there.
That pretty much sums up how he got aboard the Ferry MKS Hood. That, and that he was pushed in by the seemingly enormous crowd into the ship.
Anyways...
He had been roaming around the ship's deck, doing nothing but enjoying his idle time through sightseeing. The seas granted a great view, of course. However, one incident got his attention away from this calming activity. Some person had bumped onto a girl, and it seems that they had some sort of commotion that pretty much intrigued or surprised most of the crew, that even the bard stopped playing the tunes. Although this could simply be a misunderstanding between the two parties, Grifyn decided not to but in, and just watch the scenes unfold before him.
Well, he would have until the guy went over to a mast where he was resting his back on. There, the little guy was scouting for something, or someone most  likely. Grifyn observed how this guy observed the others. Until he suddenly stopped at a certain direction - where the girl he had bumped onto recently was, talking to a younger...girl? Apparently it was the bard. Grifyn was somewhat confused, and yet at the same time, intrigued. He was sure the bard was male. That's what he heard from the sailors rambling around earlier.
"You lovestruck, kid?", Grifyn whispered to the little guy in a teasing tone.
Timore jumped in surprise as he heard a voice whisper from next to him, much too close to his ear. Turning quickly, his startled green eyes focused on a tall man who was staring at him with an amused expression on his face. He hadn't noticed him before. How long had he been there? Thinking about it, he had probably been watching from next to the mast the whole time. After all, he seemed to be leaning on the mast pretty comfortably. Timore had simply been too distracted to notice for the second time that day. This day was definitely not one of his best. Suddenly registering the man's comment, Timore immediately became flustered. His face flushed again, bright pink in color.
"Wh- what? N- no! Of course not! I- I was just, um..." What was he supposed to say? It would probably sound suspicious if he told the man that he had been making sure that no one was staring at him. Then he'd think Timore was a criminal or something. Looking down at the worn wooden boards of the deck and shuffling his feet, Timore mumbled something about just being curious about the various different people on the ship. Would that be a good answer? He glanced back up at the man nervously, not meeting his eyes.
@Reinhardt, @Kairikudo, @cokemonster
After a few moments Kairi had begun to feel something wet runs down her arm and too her hand. She glanced at her arm that was now dripping blood. She muttered 'Damn it' under her breath before lifting her head to scan the surrounding of where the timid boy ran off. She spotted him by the taller male. She pushed herself up straight before walking up behind timore. The hand that currently has blood dripping from it latched on his shoulder so he couldn't run away as she spoke from behind him "How good are you with a needle and a thread?" Yes. She was going to make him stitch up her wound that he had reopened.
Seeing the lad getting flustered amused Grifyn, that he wanted to tease the poor young man some more. He chuckled softly.
"You gotta speak louder, kid. Else, those ladies you've been staring at won't notice you.", he said in a rather cheerful tone. He then, glanced once more to what the lad had been looking at - the bard and the bandaged girl.
"So...", he leaned in, whispering to the young man's ears with a smirk. "Who's the one you like, huh? Is is the one with the lute? The girl you bumped onto earlier? Or maybe..."
"You like both of them?", he tapped the lad's head gently. "You cheeky little guy." He laughed as he toyed the young lad's hair as if they were close friends.
Grifyn would have teased the young lad some more, if it weren't for some bloody hand popping up his shoulder. A bit surprised, it made Grifyn took a step back and remove his hand from the lad's head.
"Woah, there.", he said, gazing to where it came from.
Apparently, it was the girl earlier. There was blood dripping from her hand to the boy's clothes, as she grasped his shoulder, as if prevent him from escaping. Maybe the kid was in danger.
Then the girl spoke about skill with a thread and needle. The kid is, most likely, not really in danger. The girl might simply be asking for help on whatever was happening with her. Maybe that was not even blood at all, but spilled wine, and she needs this lad's help in sealing it off. Yeah, that's more like it. That's probably it.
So, Grifyn continued to tease the unfortunate lad who had encountered him.
"Well, well. Quite the ladies' man aren't you, kid?", he said smiling. "You just bumped her, and now she's into you. You gotta teach me your ways with the ladies, kid."
Grifyns comment seemed to annoy her a bit as with in a moment after he said that the tip of her katana was right under poor Grifyns neck. "keep speaking and my katana will be really be into you" the Katina was coming from the other side of Timores shoulder where her hand wasn't grasping him. She was twitching for a fight, no matter where she could get it.
Turian Kuhaku face.jpg
Turian Kuhaku
Date: Feusen 1st 997 C.Y.A.D.
Break of dawn
Location: On the airship
Spirit energy reserves: 20
Today it was time for the testrun of the airship, we would be flying over Alberton bay. When discussing how to form the group that would join me for the test-run we decided to bring Albert. As his knowledge would most likely be useful. Next was Eiss, a somewhat soldier-like-looking fella, should be useful in case something of the soldier-type-required-stuff happens. Last and least was Alberta, damn she should really get over her fear of mechanical stuff. At the least she should learn to travel with the airship, what use are adventurers who cannot be transported to where they're needed. So in other words the collecting of the group went as follows, 'We need volunteers for a testdrive with the airship. You, You, and You'. Nothing military about it.
As Turian approaches the airship there are still some mechanics working on finetuning her. Sadly those mechanics won't be joining us up in the air, so if something would happen then they would be in the hands of Albert's knowledge about airships. The airship testrun should go smoothly. As long as nobody goes playing with the settings on the flying stone. As his habit goes Turian is walking silently across the deck of the airship down to where the flight stone is located. There he noticed that Alberta was looking with one of the technicians who would soon be leaving the ship, probably learning more about it. Not disturbing them Turian went up above and to the steering wheel. From here he would navigate the airship during the testrun. As the mechanics left the airship, so did Albert follow them to the deck and sat down to meditate, or at least it looked like that to Turian. It was also remarkable that Albert didn't react when the big clump of metal known as Eiss walked onto the ship.
With everyone, including Alberta who was finally aboard even though she wouldn't let go of the main mast, it was time to take off. Not long after initiating the flight stone, as Turian thinks of it, the airship cleared the ground and slowly rose up. Turning the airship in the direction of Alberton bay, the testrun had begun. Looking onto the deck from the steering location, Turian could not help but notice the conversation going on between Albert and the near-namesake Alberta. Apparently Alberta was trying to figure out whether or not we were flying yet. Turian assumed that she had her eyes closed so as to not notice what is going on and keep being oblivious about it. The question though would seem kinda weird, not really knowing what to think about it he decided to observe how this would unfold.
Not long after Alberta feinted, Albert being close enough to catch her and lower her slowly to the ground. Turian took a moment to think what to do about this. There was no immediate need to wake Alberta up, although having her fainting every single time they would take an airship would be annoying. 'Albert, Eiss', Turian called out to them, 'See what you can do about waking her up. Like this she'll never get used to the airship.' It would be interesting to see what they would do. If it were up to Turian, he would throw cold water into her face. But then again, it might not be the correct action to take now. Meanwhile Turian made some minor correction to the flight path.
" Here are the rest of your Diamars in full, good sir. You have my gratitude." Antarah said handing the well dressed individual a small sack of Platinum Diamars. With a smile and a slight bow he gave his farewells. " May fortune grant you many blessing in the future." A standard farewell expression used by Wayists. Antarah had just concluded the final transaction for the purchase of the Scout Ship Baron of Welwyn, now renamed The Wings of Inverness. The whom he gave the money was an attendant of the Baron of Welwyn South. He had paid half the amount to allow his men to inspect the airship before a test flight. When the test flight could be arranged the other half would have been handed over. In the meantime, while his vice-commander was testing the ship with a select crew, Antarah invited the attendant to brunch at a local Inn known as the Travelers Crossroads.
Although this purchase arrangement could have been handled by either Vice Commander Turian or Lieutenant Donar, he was in Port to oversee other affairs. Lieutenant Donar and a few men were with him in town. He wondered whether or not the test was going well. Fortunately he would be able to contact them. Antarah had a someone install a Waystone near the ships steering wheel to communicate with the crew. He reached into his coat and pulled out a necklace version of a waystone. He lead his men to a quieter area on the outskirts of the town and began speaking into the stone. " Turian." he called out. " If anyone can hear me. The transaction has been completed. Make a few more tests as needed then please report to back to Port City Victoria. "
It was now noon. And the ship crew of the Hood were calling all who wanted some lunch to join others in the mess hall below deck. The wealthy however were invited to the Captains quarters for a private lunch. Dozens of crew worked frantically to get things prepared. The ships speed decreased a little to avoid the bigger waves crash and rock the ship too much while everyone ate, even with the spirit enforced hull. The first officer was left in charge of the transit while the captain dined in his quarters. Suddenly the Lookout called out the helmsman and the first officer. Pointing to the western horizon, they were able to see a cloud formation. Unlikely to be a storm at this time, but they were not going to chance it. The first officer relayed to the helmsman to keep the cloud formation astern for now as he and the navigator would plot a course correction to avoid it and get to port on time.
As the crew worked on those orders, the lookout continued to watch the horizon. Something was off as he signaled the Helm again this time ringing his lookout bell. The First officer left his position to see what it was. His scope was pulled out and point at the cloud. It seemed to be closer now. The formation was low to the sea level and gaining on the ship. Thinking his eyes were being deceived he looked at it without the lens. A storm formation would be much bigger if it were to be moving that fast. He knew what it was! He ran to the Large bell besides the helm. With much vigor he rang the deepening sound of the bell 4 times, this was the call for General Quarters. Another 4 times it was rung . He looked back at the cloud hoping to be wrong. But he was not. " PIRATES!" he yelled. Out of the cloud 2 scout ships raced towards the MKS Hood, behind them was a naval ship. They were all flying colors known to many seagoers. The flags of Jolinar Creed, Elegos' Greatest Pirate.
Timore's discomfort was steadily rising. His face was getting redder and redder, too. The man seemed to be getting the complete wrong idea, and even if he was just teasing, other people might hear, and stare, and... It wouldn't be good. On top of that, the man was so close now. And he was touching Timore. A small noise of discomfort escaped him as he shifted his weight from one foot to the other nervously, still not looking the man in the eyes. "No, it's not like that, I swear. I just, um... was observing the aftermath of, um, what just happened?" That was a bit closer to the truth. Would the man take that as an acceptable answer, or...
"Eep!" A hand suddenly grasped his shoulder. He would have jumped again, but its grip was so strong that he couldn't. This was way beyond too much invasion of his personal space. In addition to that, the hand was... bloody? Oh god. The warm red liquid was getting all over his shirt and his father's jacket. He was just starting to wonder who would come up behind him, bleeding, when he heard her voice. Oh no. It was that woman he had run into earlier. She was mad and now wanted to punish him with this, wasn't she? A... needle and thread? What did she want him to do with... Oh. Oh no. Nope. He absolutely refused to stitch someone's arm up, healer or not. How could he tell her that without invoking her wrath, though? While he was thinking, he almost missed the blade of a katana appearing out of the corner of his eye. Was he about to be caught in the middle of a fight? Why did the man have to keep teasing everyone? Maybe he could try to placate the woman by saying he would fix her arm?
"I- I'll try to fix your arm. Please don't kill each other," Timore told them quietly, though still audibly. Hopefully that would stop them.
Her black eyes narrowed on Grifyn. The blade still on his neck with a steady hand. Hearing what the timid Tomorrow had to say made her glance at him from the corner of her eye. "oh you will, will you?" The sword slowly with drew as they would hear a click from the katana getting place back into its sheath. She released Timore's shoulder as she looked back at Grifyn. "This is not over"
She looked at Timore "Well then come with me, or would you prefer me to drag you alo--" she stopped hearing the bell and the announcement that there was pirates coming towards the ship. Great, now pirates are attacking while she has an opened wound. "actually, let's take a rain check on fixing my arm, there's work to be done." And with that she left the two men behind while pulling out her katanas. In a way she she should be upset she can't get healed, but that didn't stop the smirk that was forming on her lips as she grew excited for the battle to come. This is just what she needs. A nice battle with pirates to help get her blood flowing, hopefully she doesn't bleed to death during battle.
The corners of Cecil's mouth tilted upward at the loud woman's compliments, which could either be genuine or patronizing. It was gone by the time he caught the scent of blood from their direction. He'd never heard of someone bumping into another so hard as to draw blood, so he simply had to wonder at what the cause had been. Where had it come from? Who possessed it and who had dealt it? This line of thinking came naturally, and had to be forced away lest he draw that swordswoman's ire. The whisper of steel was unmistakable. So too were the teasings of a new contributor who made the common assumption that followed Cecil wherever he went.
Instead of asking bluntly of the wound's origin as he'd prefer, he decided to oblige in the woman's request as she beckoned the nervous boy. He strummed a few more notes as he'd done. Even though he'd only been tuning, he did recognize a melody somewhere in there. He continued it with different cords, evolving the new tune a bit. Perhaps she was onto something.
Cecil stopped once more, and called out as to be heard above the wind. His voice was clearly boyish. "My thanks, ma'dam, but I was only tuning. If your ears' appetite has truly been whetted, perhaps you may sit a while and enjoy a real-"
Bells tolled. Men shouted. The air became sizzled with energy and a sudden anxiousness. "PIRATES!"
Cecil sucked in some breath, forgetting all about the woman and boy and teasing man. He stopped playing once more. Pirates.
"Perhaps I should be careful what I wish for."
Eyes fluttering slightly the young woman groans unhappily. Not fully certain of what just happened she slowly leaned herself up from her laying position to slowly gaze around herself...
...
She fainted didn't she...
...
Some battle mistress she is, afraid of some dumb machine. Pfft, stupid thing, nothing but a flying bucket of wood really, whats to be afraid of. Aside from the chance of falling to one's death... but then again... she had artes to help against that, hell she perfected the one that helped her in that regard so now worries! She only needed to land on her feet, easier said than done of course. Atleast her eyes were open now, seeing that everything wasn't as bad as she imagined, piled on the fact she was flying off into the sky was also a key part of her calming down. Perhaps shed finally relax and keep steady for the next while, so long as they don't pull any moves they really shouldn't when they steer this thing.
Giving a sigh she pulled herself up to her feet, her golden locks floating gently in what breeze didn't get directed away from the ship. "The test is underway then... Is everything.. working? The sooner the test is done, the sooner I get off this damned thing. So hurry!" she barked at Albert, she wasn't quite certain if he was the one doing the tests but if he would argue against her orders she'd be more then happy to reteach him the pecking order. Of course her stern growling was replaced with surprise at the sound of their leader's voice coming from the steering wheel, like a dog her ears perked up and eyes darted around, looking for the man everywhere.
"Antarah?"s he asked as her worries seemed replaced by the sound of her leader's voice. Following the words she made her way towards the steering wheel, fear replaced with curiosity of her leader's orders. Also, it meant she could display her displeasure at being stuck on the airship.
The words seemed to be coming from a... shiney rock on the wheel, guess thats the thing he was talking through?
"Antarah? Antarah! Can you hear me? Say so lest my scorning go unheard you oafish buffoon!" HE was the cause of her unhappy predicament, it didn't matter if she was being paid for this, didn't matter if the stupid machine was worth alot of money, she didn't want on it!!
Eiss was starting to wonder whether or not he made a mistake in joining this mercenary guild. It was partly his own fault for setting his expectations so high, something he'd be sure to never do again. Wealth and riches were great and all, but at what cost? Eiss liked to think he had a decent reputation, one that took several months of hard work to build up. It would certainly be tarnished if someone realized his latest job was more or less overlooking a wild woman with an irrational fear of technology. Speaking of whom, the woman had started yet another uproar. Eiss actually laughed, his snicker mostly muffled under the woman's loud ruckus. The unlucky fellow who tried to comfort her was assaulted with a variety of insults that only fueled Eiss' amusement.
When she fainted Eiss couldn't help but laugh again. This time he tried to play it off as a minor cough, yet he couldn't completely mask the glee he felt. With the drama seemingly done, he turned to look at the dull view of sky and clouds only to turn back upon realizing he was being spoken to. It was none other than 'Mr. I Got Tongue Lashed' himself. Eiss was honestly surprised someone would address him, much less subtly threaten him. "Uh huh. And if I was smilin'?" he said, not bothering to hide the smugness in his voice.
He intended to say more. Perhaps he'd let Albert off easy and give him an even worse tongue lashing than the woman did. "Listen here ya-"
Whatever he was going to say was abruptly cut off by the sound of his name being called alongside Albert's. The Vice Commander had addressed them both, giving them the task of waking up the woman. "Do we really have to?" He gestured to the mast where her nails had dug into the wood itself. "I reckon we're safer with her out o' commission." His objections were all for naught however, as she regained consciousness moments later.
Soon enough yet another voice filled the air, one that Eiss didn't immediately recognize. It was his employer whose voice seemed to resonate from the wheel itself. Eiss could only make out bits and pieces of whatever he was saying, probably because of Alberta's constant babbling. "Can you hush, woman!? I can't hear em over your racket!"
