" Welcome to the World of Elegos.

Your arrival here is a blessing to all life in this world.

May the winds of fortune smile upon you, and grant your life with peace and prosperity.

And may you, the one holding this life warm the Universe with your good deeds."

- Hadiyah, the Guide to Righteousness Peacekeeper.
The Glad Tidings of the Newborn

============================================
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
============================================
When the world was still young, angels and demons fought for control over it.
These spirit forces did battle on the plains of existence ravaging the land they coveted greatly.
The mortals of Elegos caught in between this great war, were powerless to defend themselves, much less the home given to them by the Universe.
Celestial years passed by with no end in sight for the abuse of the world and its inhabitants.
All life feared the planets imminent destruction.
Before an irreparable wrong could be accomplished to the planet, Elegos herself used her life-force and empowered 10 mortals,
individuals who were to represent all life on Elegos, to take part in this great war and end it once and for all time.
The 10 mortals, from then onward known as the Arbitrators of the Elements gathered together and united their powers completely wiping out all of the spirit forces that waged this terrible battle.
Soon thereafter Elegos appointed 2 individuals known as the Celestial Guardians and tasked them to watch over the 2 gates that connected the spirit realm to the physical planes.
Since then eons have passed.
The tale of the Great War and the legend of the Arbitrators are now passed on to children as bedtime stories.
Parents regale this story to them so that they may come to appreciate how precious life really is.
However it now seems legend will become reality.
It is the year 997 C.Y.A.D.,
and unbeknownst to most life on Elegos, the stories of the past are about to relive their glory with the blood of innocents.
Nearly 1000 years previous, unknown forces brought about the ruination of Eden and She'ol, the Celestial Guardians tasked with forever protecting the gates of the spirit realm.
The end would have come about much sooner, if not for the fact that the Guardians sealed the gate with their life-force.
However the seal was measured to only last 1000 years.
Because of these events, those of us with the knowledge of this ominous certain future,
delve into the research of finding a way to prevent another Great War to wreak havoc upon our world.
This information must be kept secret. In the wrong hands it could lead to disaster.
Before the lunch Bell sounded in Milestone Fort, the Wings of Inverness was already in the air. The vessel was already packed with all the equipment needed for the mission. The Airship crew were to drop off the expedition team comprising of Field Captain Albert, his superiors Turian and Donar as well as 6 other mercenaries swords somewhere along the northern end of the Kensington Coast. Two Papaopamus' and a journeyman caravan were packed into the cargo hold, but fortunately all the needed supplies were inside the caravan. It would take them approximately 4-5 hours to travel to the designated spot. The airship touched down  in a field clearing to unload all the equipment. They were told that this area would be their rendezvous point on Feusen 6th Dawn. The crew would await them until High noon before reporting back and awaiting further instructions on how to proceed. The airship crew were preparing to take off once everyone in the expedition team was ready. They would be debriefed about the mission details by Lieutenant Donar and Captain Albert would decide on how they would proceed from there.
As they finally made ground, Donar watched the Airship leave much to the dismay of the members of this team.
That was what he assumed anyway.
In the meantime, as the others got everything ready he gathered the Core members of this group together.
"Alright, lets being with introductions.. I am Lieutenant Donar of the Nohrad swords. I am a Knight, or rather a Bodyguard for a Noble family." he started with a introduction before explaining how it was requested that he joined the Nohrad swords by the Commander months ago.
"Now time for the mission." He took out the scroll with the mission details and gave the brief summary of it.
"The mission as follows: There have been reports of refugees from the War vanishing and turning up as slaves all over the place of late. And there is reason to suspect that there is a hideout along the edge of the Kingdom, More Specifically the Contested northern region of the Kensington Coastline."
He let that sink in for a moment, while it was nowhere near the Main battleground of the war, it was still noted that this was more risky than fighting Pirates off.
"If we find such a place, we are to destroy it immediately. But there is a possibility that there are innocents, and their dDeaths must be kept at a minimum to none at all." he closed the scroll saying gravely, "I don't need to tell you how delicate this mission is, if any of those Refugees turned slaves are killed, we would end up literally bringing the War to our doorstep."
He looked at the faces of these people once more, his seriousness evident of a Knight, "We are not here to play Heroes. So put whatever self-confidence and pride you have and put it on a self. These Slave traders are dangerous, and I can guarantee that we might encounter several of them who are even more stronger than that Pirate Brute I witnessed you fight and the MKS Hood." While he did not see the fight, he saw the results of it. "That is why, while out here you are to follow Field Captain Albert and work as a team" He stared at Kairi a little, "Even if you dont like him, I request your cooperation for now. After we get back you can hate him as much as you want."
He then looked over into the horizon as the Airship was long gone. "Any questions before I give command to the Field Captain?"
Timore Williams
Location: Near the Kensington Coastline
During the ride on the airship, Timore had been leaning on the railing of the top deck, quietly watching the landscape speed by below. He found it to be quite intriguing to see the world from this new angle; it looked almost exactly like the maps his tutor had made him spend so much time studying, if a little magnified. He passed the hours of the journey guessing at which town each group of buildings was and generally just enjoying the view. After a while, he began to notice the speed of the airship decreasing, so he guessed that they had almost reached their destination. The ground grew closer and closer, and eventually the ship touched down, stopping altogether. With a sigh, Timore left his place by the railing and made his way off of the ship. It was finally time to find out what their mission was.
Hovering nearby their field captain, Albert, until the other five recruits and two observing higher-ups had disembarked the ship, Timore began to worry again. He had kept himself occupied for the past few hours, but now doubt had crept back to the forefront of his mind. What if he wasn't capable of being a mercenary? What if he ruined the entire mission? Sighing again, he joined the group that one of the higher-ups was gathering. The man introduced himself as Lieutenant Donar, then proceeded to explain the mission. So, they were to solve a slave problem? That might be difficult... There'd be a lot of people that they'd need to protect. Maybe he would do best if he focused on that, instead of directly fighting the slavers. After all, he had discovered in the last battle that his healing Arte was quite helpful; maybe he'd put himself to use aiding the slaves?
Creating a specific goal for himself made Timore feel a bit more confident; as long as he stuck to it when he could, there'd be less room for him to be indecisive and mess up. That decided, he thought through the rest of the information provided by the lieutenant. This did indeed seem to be an incredibly delicate mission, a fact that he wasn't too happy about. The idea of enemies even stronger than the massive pirate they had battled on the MKS Hood wasn't particularly appealing, either, but hopefully they would be able to do it if they worked together. After all, he was with more people now, most of whom seemed very experienced. As the Lieutenant finished talking and asked if anyone had any questions, Timore shook his head "no."
As the airship took off, Kairi decided to take the opportunity for a nap. She found a spot on Deck and sat with her back leaned against one of the wooden mast. Her eyes closing as she fell asleep. Her eyes didn't open until she felt the ship come to a complete stop. She looked around with her eyes half open and let out a yawn before standing to her feet. She moved towards a crowd that had formed around one of the two overseers of this mission. Her facial expression showed that she still wasn't fully awake as she listened to him introduce himself. All was fine until he said 'I am a knight...' The moment that phrase passed his lips was the moment that the sleepy expression of hers faded into one that was more serious and more dangerous. Her eyes narrowed on Donar as if she was about to rip his throat out. 'Damn it Antarah! First you make me join alliance with a tin head and then with a knight!' She thought to herself. If it wasn't for her respect for Antarah, she would have attacked the lieutenant without even a thought. 'After this mission he is going to get an earful from me' her arms folded under her chest as she listened to the speech in silence. Unlike the brute from the ship, she couldn't be as reckless. An annoyed sigh passed her lips 'What a pain..'she thought. Could she do the mission without being reckless like she was on the pirate ship? Yes. That just means she would have more work on her part to protect people. Her eyes rolled towards Timore who seemed a little less worried then he was before the ship took off. She didn't respond to donars question to the group, hell she didn't even look at him she was so pissed and disgusted at that point. She couldn't decide who was worst, the tin head or the Lieutenant.
After the meeting ended, he noticed a stare of great anger, and bloodlust. The bloodlust ended but the anger directed at him was still there. From experience of people trying to kill him, he had a good idea who it was. What could he have said to piss her off? and what does she have against him?
He for one never knew Kairi, plus he had been in the contested regions fighting in the war.
"With that I give the floor to Field Captain Albert. @Bacon is fluffy."
After that, he made his way towards the Angry Girl @Kairikudo, her face clearly showing it well.
For now, he decided to not explain that he was never knighted, but just issue,a warning. "I do not know why you hate me, or want to kill me. But I hope, that you don't plan to let your anger cloud your judgment. It would only serve as a danger to the group as a whole. It makes one reckless, and that will lead you to making a mistake." Perhaps, there was a personal reason she hated him and what he is saying now would just make her more angry, but it will endanger the group if she let whatever petty emotions get the batter of her.
This is good training for her to work with people she hates.
"I also am against working with you mercenaries. But, if this is what it takes to save people, then I'll even go against the pompous Knights themselves." he finished before walking away.
He can only pray that She will understand.
Date: Feusen 3st 997 C.Y.A.D. / 3 pm
Al did not move, nor did he speak the entire trip. His mind focused on the possibilities of the mission and what they could entail. Surely they would not send them off somewhere too dangerous with the crew he was with. Although he had the two officers with them, they were by no means a force big enough nor strong enough to really take on a real threat. Mulling over the current outfit, there was Estella. She was much like the other new recruits but stuck to navigation and exploration a lot more than combat. Next was another youngster who went by the name of Samuel. He along the woman margaret were our trackers. Sam being more accustomed to surviving in foreign cities large and small. Margaret was their wilderness survival expert. Lastly was gregory, one of the guild's premiere ship mechanics. He is known for his daring hijacking mission a few years back and as such, most rely on him for a quick and reliable getaway. Al didn't know what the mission's purpose was, but he felt confident that whatever they were doing wouldn't too much for them to handle. Or so he thought as he rose from his sleeping quarters to meet the rest of the crew for a debriefing. He appeared on deck with a somewhat energetic stride as the ship was entering its landing phase.
There the Lieutenant was already giving his speech about the mission, when he caught wind of the nature of it. So there'll be stronger monsters, slaves and a potential for war? Upon taking his place beside Donar( @Jack Rakan) he took note of the two new comers from the MKS incident. The boy was still rather stiff, his tone rattled. But he somehow felt calmer than he had been back at the base,but still one could tell he was rather reluctant about being here. Beside him was the unlady like girl who even found a reason to be frustrated in this situation. Al was curious as to how someone who was being treated with more than enough consideration, could still find a way to produce more bad blood between more of their members. With the cue from the lieutenant to give his own little introduction he felt himself cut off once more by the conduct of him and Kairi.
Al's eyes opened widely, his eyes a dark abyss; a shrill shrieking swept across the ship's deck. It was emanating from a disturbed Albert, whose gaze was affixed upon the squabbling couple. " Listen up, we'r in a foreign lan'd and unsu'r of what our real objecti've is. Worst comes to worst, we will not even engage the enemy if they are this much stronger than us". Turning his attention to Estella, he gestured her to grab Timmoire. " You two'll be unload'n the popaomis. Once they're settled, find the nearest town Estella". The girl hurried off to the side, beckoning Timmoire ( @Creekstar) to follow suit. " Gregory, you check the wagin and make shi'r the ship is raring to go. Sam you assist him with any of the engine maintenance if need be". The two saluted and went off to their own mechanisms at the drop of a dime, while Al was not too far from shaking in his boots. " Lastly margie, I'll have you check the woods out with Kairi( @Kairikudo) depending on what estella says about the next town". Margie looked toward kairi with a look of uncertainty, but she held her hand out as a sign of friendship. As for Al he approached Donar with an aggressive stride, " I don't know wha't you n the other offic'rs are tryin to achieve with this little exerci'se, but what be our true objecti've? T'way you put it, it's as if I be sending my men to a lion's den.
Donar watched Albert @Bacon is fluffy aggressively approach him. Possibly about the mission. Why was everyone mad at him today? He signed before responding, "The mission is to destroy a Slave trading hideout. That is all. Slave traders won't have as many people with them as the Pirates do. Their grunts are weak compared to you. The stronger ones are the ones you just need to leave alone." he placed his hand on the tin man's shoulder, "You'll do fine. Even Kairi Kudo, despite her anger for you and I, will still do what she needs to do." he walked away from Albert. "As for their Boss, Leave him to Me." He turned to face Albert, it seemed as though the air froze as his eyes held the coldness of a ruthless killer, eyes that have seen the true horror of war.
"I am more than enough to kill him."
The feeling then vanished just as fast when Donar smiled and turned to check the supplies.
As the debriefing commenced, the Airship lifted off for another destination. The success of the mission depended on the destruction of the Slave Hideout. First order was to search them out and see if their force was enough to take out the hideout. Given their location, each direction, except for south, presented a possible area where the Hideout may be. Some were more likely than others. A few Kilometers or so East was the Kensington Coast, an elevated coastline that spanned several hundreds of kilometers long. The average height from the ocean level was anywhere from a few dozen meters to a hundred or so. Further North traveling the Plains of Norh they would chance upon a small village of 2 or 3 hundred persons. To the West,  a few kilometers would be a rather undisturbed forest. The decision as to where to travel rested upon the Field Captain. By the time they would arrive to any of those places, dinner would almost be upon them.
Kairi seemed even more pissed by that disgrace of a knights speech to her. Who the hell does he think he is? Insulting her like this was the first time she has been on a job? Saying that she be better make sure to not let her anger get the better of her. "I don't need some damn knight telling me to keep my emotions in check like this is the first job I've ever been on." She stated bluntly her eyes narrowed when he said that he was against working with mercenaries. What the hell was wrong with other mercenaries? Well besides the anger enduced she devil herself. "I'd rather work with other mercenaries then some dishonorable knights" she said. She really did have a bad experience with knights. Ever since the night of that raid that got her only friend killed, and why? Because they were betrayed by the very knights they trusted. That is something she swore to never forget.
Her head turned towards Albert who seemed hesitant to even speak to her. Her brow arched when he finally got the words out. Unlike him and Donar. She had no problem with the rest of the crew. She didn't like Donar because he claimed to be a knight, and she didn't like Albert because his armor reminded her of a knight. Her head turned towards Margie who had her hand held out as a sign of friendship. Kairi gripped the girls hand lightly before speaking in a less stern tone then she had with Donar. "Let's get moving. If the enemy is in the forest we will have to be quick and silent not to draw attention to ourselves." She explained in her naturally uncaring tone. She said walking towards the forest to the east. Unlike the ship, this was a job to her, and she takes her jobs seriously. @Bacon is fluffy @Creekstar @Jack Rakan @Helral
'Ow man', Turian thought as he listened to what Albert was saying, 'We won't get anything done before the mission time is over like this....'. Considering all the locations it would most likely take one to two hours to reach any of them, if it is the forest then finding clues of anyone being there would depend on how well they can hide their tracks. If it would be the city then it could even be the villagers themselves, they will not expose their nature to us when we visit. And among the coastline there should be many caves among which they could hide themselves. Considering the amount of people we have with us, splitting up would probably turn out as a death warrant for the ones who end up finding their target.
Turning to Albert, 'Well Captain, what will be our first stop?'. Turian was curious as to where they would head out to first, He noticed that Kairi and Margie were about to move out to the east. This would be the time for the captain to intercede or otherwise Turian would feel obligated to head along with them if only to make certain that they'll survive. Turian would be capable of keeping himself safe from most dangers although there would no doubt be a few men among the slavers that would prove dangerous even to him.
Timeshift: So for the sake of mission time and safety, a clueless Al who had little sense of direction was advised to not split the group up because the distance between each location was too great. So without a second thought Al chose the safest route he could think of, that being the town. If there were any slavers, it would be the best place to pick up intel int he best case scenario. Worst case scenario they were slaver run themselves. Nonetheless he felt that the town was the best solution now that he knew it existed and had everyone go there.
Everyone gets there a half an hour later than the intended time due to arguing.
Despite the long journey, it was still a while before sunset, therefore, still time before they had to eat.
Donar noted that the town seemed to have a few hundred people from reports, it seems that Albert @Bacon is fluffy was still somewhat under pressure from the role. But, he could only advise for now.
"This seem to be the best time to try finding a decent place for a meal or so. But, I only warn that we dont stray too far from each other. or at the very least make sure our base is secured. This place would be perfect to gather information. We just need to keep tabs on another."
After reaching the town Donar did look around by himself for a small amount of time. Mostly to see the area. Which was calm with how many people lived here. it was Normal. "We can meet back here, or at the local Inn after seeing what information we can get."
He then took the time to explain to Albert that it's possible that Slavers might be in the area, he also shared this with the rest of the Group as well. The Mission, is to get information about any slavers in the area. He also pointed out to exercise caution of who they ask, and to always travel in groups of no less than two if anyone goes out.
As for the Village, was quiet in the sense of not much turmoil, it was fairly large and the people seemed nice enough. As expected of one so far out here.The scenery surrounding it was mostly plains.
"Whatever you decide, it should be fine." he finally said.
Location: Small Village
It was a long journey to the small village, across plains and through a smaller forest than what they would probably have found in the east. Actually, it was more of a collection of trees than even a forest. Regardless, the landscape they passed through remained mostly the same, and the terrain was very flat. The entire journey was also accompanied by the whistling of wind, as they were close to the Kensington Coastline, where it was almost always windy.
When they reached the village, Timore immediately took notice of its quietness. Of course, it was completely normal for a village this small to be pretty calm, but it was unusual for him all the same, as he was used to the bustle of busier cities. The tallest buildings were maybe two stories high, and few of them seemed to be ornately decorated or particularly fancy. This was a town very much dominated by the working class. Considering that, Timore began to make the decision about where he would begin the search for information. There was no way he'd be able to go up to someone and ask; he rarely initiated conversations. In addition to that, it would put him in a bad position if he accidentally questioned one of the slavers and gave their presence in the village away. Looking around, he spotted a slightly run down tavern. This may very well have been the place they had planned on going for a meal; Timore wasn't sure. Regardless, this would be a good place to find information if he listened to the right conversations. Most people in a town like this would likely find themselves in a tavern at the end of a work day, so anyone looking to blend in, like the slavers, would probably end up in one, too. On top of that, alcohol tended to make people's tongue's looser. His mind made up, Timore began to walk towards the tavern.
Kairi had her arms folded under her chest as she followed the group towards the small village. She was so close to getting away from all the testosterone, even if it was until sunset, but then lieutenant kill joy suggested that they not split up in case a group was to run into the Slavers. Now she was stuck in a page group with them. Her eyes scanned around the village. Well the report was right, the village was small sabot only housed about three hundred people. Her eyes fell on the tavern looking at it for a moment before going in with the group. She sat at the round table between Timore and Margie. Her elbows resting on the table with her chin resting in the palm of her hand as he sent everyone off, leaving it only her, Albert and Timore. Her brow arched from his reluctant tone as he told them that he was going to the monastery.
"You go on ahead. I'll stay here and listen in on the conversations to see what I can find out." She said closing her eyes.
As a few from the group ( @Creekstar / @Kairikudo ) entered the tavern, they proceeded to take a place and try to eavesdrop on some conversations perhaps in an attempt to ascertain anything regarding their mission. A few men took notice to them, or more specifically, the women in the group. They advanced towards them, obviously with the notion they could pry the younger man with them from the women. They were obviously drunk and smelled of sea water, perhaps fishermen of the Kensington Coastlline. Their attempts of flirtation were quite vulgar and direct.
Monastery
The largest edifice in the town was a monastery looking like building. It had a plaque that read; Library. Some time ago, whatever the buildings original purpose was converted to house books of knowledge. Outside half a dozen slightly injured individuals lay or sat on the shortened steps to the entrance. Some villagers and 3 much older men, perhaps the keepers of the monastery, were opening the doors and helping the injured. ( @Bacon is fluffy / @Jack Rakan )
Donar had accompanied Albert as the other half went to Tavern. The monastery was long converted to a Library it seems, and he saw the people sitting outside of it. "I wonder if the Church still has any presence here if at all.."
Donar had taken a couple minuets to ask about any missing people. One responded that there was two or three who vanished many weeks ago, but those people wer homeless. He asked another about refugees, and he also respoded that there was a group, but they left with who looked much like Mercenaries who must have been protecting them. He asked one more person about any slave traders, but this guy seemed to squirm a little, so did his friend that was with him But his friend responded anyway, "there was talk of such people over the last few months, some claimed to have seen some, but it was just rumors. There was a servant of some Noble here a while back, but he had mercenaries with him. So, we dont know." Donar thanked him for the information, but the man added ominously, "Be careful when asking about the slave traders, ask the wrong people, and you might find yourself in the caravan of such people"
Donar thanked him again, but could have sworn that someone was watching him again. He went inside to building where Albert @Bacon is fluffy currently was. Donar went to tell him what he learned. "So in hindsight, it doesn't seem like they are ever here. But there still seems to be some sort of tension in this town." He said to the armored clad man. "Doesn't it seem like despite what we think about this town, don't you feel a sort of repressed fear and anger here?"
Timore sat in the crowded tavern, accompanied by Kairi and another woman from their team. He had yet to find out what her name was, but he didn't really feel like asking, either. Slightly uncomfortable next to the imposing Kairi, he tried his best to sit still and listen to the surrounding conversations. He caught many various tidbits, some of which were quite amusing out of context, but nothing seemed to be anything beyond the usual tavern talk. However, something seemed almost subdued about the tavern. The cacophony was disproportionate to the large number of people, as many were speaking with lowered voices, almost as if they were fearful of standing out, of drawing any sort of attention. Of course, the drunks were as loud as ever, but others seemed to be quite mindful of their surroundings. Something was off.
Before Timore could dwell on it any longer, however, he noticed the approach of four middle-aged men. The lurch to their strides clearly gave away their intoxication, as did their raucous voices. As they drew nearer, an unpleasant mixture of the scents of alcohol and the sea reached the shy boy's nostrils. To his dismay, the drunks were clearly interested in his group. They began to hit on Kairi and their other teammate, making vulgar comments and drawing uncomfortably near. Timore instinctively slid his chair away, not wanting to cause any trouble. Kairi was scary enough; surely she could deal with this alone? He hoped that she wouldn't start a fight, though, as he'd probably have to join in because they were teammates now, but he doubted they'd be that lucky. Sighing, he waited to see what would happen.
A sigh of relief passed Kairis lips as they were finally away from the tin head and dishonorable knight, well at least that's what she called them anyways. She glanced over at the timid healer who she could tell didn't seem comfortable around her at all. This was understandable due to her rough nature, she was used to people by now not wanting to be around her. The tavern maid set a mug of ale out for Kairi who hadn't said a word as she took a drink as she listened to the almost hushed conversations around the bar, in her mind separating the quiet conversations that may have held some importance to the current mission and the loud abnoxious sounds of obvious drunken fools.
Her nose scrunched up in disgust once the mixed scent of dead fish and booze hit her nose. Her head turning towards the slurred and vulgar comments that the four middle aged men were making. On a normal day she would have cut them open without a thought, but since this was a new country, and she was on a job, she had to watch her actions mote carefully.
"I'm not interested and neither is the girl, now why don't you go home already pester someone there." She said in a calm tone of voice, taking another drink from her mug of ale. She glanced over at Timore from the corner of her eyes. Thinking of a backup strategy already as she figured the drunks wouldn't leave just because she told them too.
"Besides, can't you see we both are already with someone? He's far more interesting than a group of men who spend their days playing with fish carcasses all day" she said in a sweet tone that had a hint of danger to it. Her fingers gripping tighter around the glass handle of the mug, the more she was around the stench of those damn drunks, the more it started to piss her off.
Kairi remained unfazed by the approach of the drunkards, if not a bit annoyed. They started to laugh and jeer at the group at what Kairi had said. After trading a few jests between themselves, they quickly became disinterested in whole affair and started cursing and throwing their drinks away. Such behavior was not uncommon in places like a tavern. But it would be strange that the patrons chose to ignore their situation, not even looking in the direction of the newcomers. Even the staff whose job is the service and well being of their customers dared not do anything to these drunk men it seemed. Perhaps they were accorded some sort of special treatment. Whatever the reason, they were now leaving, shouting profanities at the customers for no reason and aimed particularly towards the group.
One of the men tripped and fell Ripping part of his outer garment. He laughed dizzily and shrugged it off. He took off the garment, for it was hot anyway, and one could notice on his long sleeve shirt, an emblem stitched onto it. The emblem would be of no consequence to anyone, certainly not in a rundown minor village such as Durward. But for those familiar of the high society ( @Creekstar ), it would be obvious to whom this emblem represented. It was the Emblem of the House of Sirius. The House of Sirius  served directly under One of the Three Honor Families. They had a vast wealth and power economically, politically and militarily.
Al actually felt a weight being lifted from his shoulders when the noobies chose to stay behind. A part of al felt a little disgusted with his glee since he had initially wanted to get along with anyone who joined the mercenary group, but he knew not everything would be smooth sailing. The experience taught him that there was no good which could come from expecting anything from anyone except himself. Nor would any good come from answering the call to arms from another person, no matter how much he respected them. Master Antarah must have had his reasons for selecting to test him,but it wasn't going the way he expected. Al is a low class scrapper when you boil things down to the bare essentials. He's low born with a variety of skills which even he knew he lacked, one which was direction. How could he lead another when he himself is drifting from place to place looking to fill the void? He stared up at the clouds aimlessly without taking notice of the people around him.
Generally folks steered clear of him, so he never really needed to pay them any mind. It was not long before he heard the someone rushing to his side. The tin man braced himself only to find it was Donar who was accompanying him. With a tilted head Al nodded at his commanding officer and headed for the monastery at the center of the town. There he noticed a handful of distraught men lying in the front of the entrance. He strode past them without paying them much mind as they gave him all the information he needed to know regarding the situation. He felt a tickle feeling run up and down his spine, leaving goosebumps in thier wake. Something he developed as a naturist but didn't nurture all to well. It was more his intuition,but he felt as if something was amiss with the situation. Proceeding inside he noticed younger men helping out some elderly men, their movements calm and precise. It was as if this were not an uncommon occurrence.
As the pathway cleared he placed his hand on the front door and gave it a slight push. The door creaked, letting dust and debris from an ominous wind come flying in alongside Al. he gripped the hilt of his blade tighter and braced himself when he was addressed by Donar ( @Jack Rakan). Al nodded his head and continued further into the building. Its floorboards creaked and the books inside were rather worn out. Most covers were not even legible, others had water damage. Their wear was obvious, most of the books which had writing on the cover which was still discernible were in a language he didn't recognize. " Lieutenant sir, those young men helping the injured seemed all too knowledg'able in this situ'tion. I wonder what goin' on here".
Timore sighed with relief when neither party picked a fight. It was a better situation than he could have hoped for, especially given the drunkeness of the men and the general hostility of Kairi. Unfortunately, a lot of noise had been made by the men regardless, so the attention of everyone in the tavern would surely be on their small group. Much to Timore's surprise, however, upon looking around the crowded room carefully, he found that not even a single person had glanced in their direction. Not the customers who should have been gossiping about this event for at least a little while, nor even the owner and staff. What in the world was going on in this tavern? Something was very obviously off. Uncomfortable now, the small boy shifted in his seat uneasily as he watched their harassers make their exit. The men were almost out of the door when one, in his drunkeness, fell. As he stood up again, Timore began to look away, but, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something on the man's shirt that immediately drew his attention.
It was unmistakably the emblem of a noble family, portraying a dragon clinging to a shield. Such an emblem must belong to one of the more important families, considering its use of a powerful, majestic beast, not a simple bird or domestic creature. Quickly thinking through the various emblems he had been taught to recognize by his tutor, as it was a necessary skill for a wealthy merchant, Timore realized that it was the emblem of the House of Sirius. If his memory served correctly, they were directly under the command of the highest families, sometimes referred to by peasants as the Noble's Dogs. It was a fitting moniker, given their subservience and the name of their house. Regardless, it was immediately strange to Timore that one would bare such an emblem here. Whether they were an actual noble or simple servant of House Sirius he wasn't sure, but either one would be significant, especially in an out of the way, distinctly lower class village such as this. Watching them go out, Timore tried to decide what to do. It was unlikely that his teammates would immediately recognize such a thing, and it was suspicious. He'd have to say something.
Taking a deep breath, the shy boy turned to the intimidating woman next to him, and, after tapping her on the shoulder, began to speak. "Um..." He began uncertainly, worried that she would lash out at him about his mumbling like she had on the MKS Hood. "Those men who just left... One of them had the emblem of the House of Sirius on their shirt. They're, um, an important noble family directly below one of the Honor Families. I'm not entirely sure, but, well, I think it's a little strange that nobles of such distinction, or even their servants, would be in a village such as this. Do you think that we should follow them?" He looked up at Kairi as he said this and did his best not to mumble so that both she and the other woman could hear what he said.
To Kairis own surprise, the men left. Her grip loosened around the handle of the mug taking another drink and placed the empty mug on the table. Her eyes scanned around to see that no one had even glanced in their direction. Even the taverns where people knew how crazed she was would have taken a glance or whispered amongst themselves if a scene like that had just happened. What the hell was going on? She grew curious to the reason but placed it in the back of her mind. She didn't notice the drunken fool that had the Emblem. Her head turned towards the shy healer as he tapped her shoulder, a brow arching as she waited for him to finally get the words out. She listened to him carefully, a surprise look on her face once he said 'House of Sirius'. She knew about the noble houses from her training as a knight. She was never found of nobles, or well living creatures in general, but nobles were too arrogant for her taste.
"I already know about what the House of Sirius is. If you're sure that you saw the emblem then that would explain why no one even looked over at the scene they caused. I want you two to stay here and wait for the tin head and that knight. I will follow them, report what you saw to them." She said standing up and turning to leave the tavern, quick and silently. If this was true then this would be really dangerous, and she had no faith in that boys stealth abilities, besides if it came down to it, she would rather go at it alone, if she got caught and couldn't fight her way out of it then oh well, he didn't need to be drug into that. She pulled the hood up of her black cloak following silently behind from a safe distance. Her eyes focused on the drunks. Where were they going?
Engagement Scenario:
The drunks moved clumsily across the small town. It did not take them long to get to edge, where the entrance was. Although Kairi ( @Kairikudo ) was on their tail, one of them took notice that they were being followed by someone. This one separated from the others probably making some excuse of going to buy something or the need to urinate in some corner, but he vanished quite quickly. The others made it to the entrance and paced around trying to find where they left their transport. Although Kairi was far back from these, the one that left the group came towards her rear, and he was not alone either. Followed by 4 other men they called her out. The others by the entrance also noticed and walked towards her. They expressed how nice it was she wanted to follow them and made certain overtures about some after hours exotic type of entertainment that certainly would be degrading to any self respecting woman. They continued to jeer and holler like wolfen fangs in heat and the young woman. Finally one of them had an idea to ruff her up a bit for embarrassing them in the bar. The others wholeheartedly agreed, and with weapons in hand they close in on her.
