The New Gods Lore

For ages Gods have existed among humans, but when they die, their powers fall back into the ethereal plain known as Mu. Mu is the void in which all powers and energy that Gods rely on, are drawn from. This is the plain where energy resides.

What makes a normal human and a God different is that Gods have a seal allowing them to innately draw from this plain, however, a human can also use the void known as Mu, though none have done so. With their powers, Gods also can use special spells and curses that are available to all Gods.

The Gods of mythos were also beings that drew from Mu, though their name was cemented in lore as legends.

Once a God dies and the energy and seal break, returning to the void, they remain until the turn of the century in which certain beings are gifted with these powers and have awakened them.
Due to an unknown force, there are periods in which many Gods are around and conflict is bound to happen. However, there has always been some form of a pantheon that exists to have stopped conflict, but the last was before the first world war

What makes someone a God rather than just some superhuman is the is really just in name only. Every Gods is granted superhuman conditioning, able to to take more damage, move faster, lift more and live longer in their prime than a normal human.

It is written by some old Gods that there exists a God or being above the others who created the Void Mu.

There exists a pantheon in the heavens where Gods have formerly sat, such as the one the Greek Gods used, which moves at the will of the Gods. Upon sitting in the throne a God is able to enhance their powers, but only while sitting. It was created to allow Gods to watch the world over time without being in many places at once.

For Gods, their true power can be unlocked through training and time as no God has full access to their untamed powers, but the seals can be used to draw energy from Mu to transform, which is normally a Godly state. In such a form not even bullets will harm a God.
