Mystics. Blessed individuals, born with an affinity that allows them to manipulate the Surge- currents of magic that weave through the fabric of time and space. However, there was a time in which such an ability was unheard of. Magic, The Surge, could only be accessed by those deemed as Heirs. These chosen individuals ruled their lands with the power bestowed onto them by the great Mother. They, alone, held the great gift. Peace reigned- until the great flood, sending a wave of power rushed across the land. Suddenly, ordinary people began wielding the Surge. As word spread, a cloud of despair and betrayal fell upon the great Kings. Fear bloomed, and it consumed and corrupted the Four Heirs.

Distrust bled between the crevices that formed in the alliance. The Heirs turned on one another and the peace was torn asunder as was the land they had once ruled as one. Four kingdoms rose from the ruins. However, that was not the only fruit the tree of war bore. As darkness fell, the surge gave birth to monsters and demons. Creatures that fed upon both fear and flesh. Mystics were declared agents of the Great mother- protectors of the people… and servants to the Heirs. Many mystics fell prey to the complete control of those who ruled their kingdoms. However, there are many others to be found… outside the borders of the kingdoms. Further inland, those who escaped established terfs, free of the chains that chased their existence.

Recently, the Heirs have entered a contest- a race to collect the most Mystics. They’ve sent Agents inland- their sole task being to seek out and capture the remaining blessed at all costs.

The Anatomy of a Mystic and The Four Kingdoms
Mystics
Most mystics, while formidable, possess many weaknesses. They are not all-powerful. Even the Heirs have their achilles heel. For instance, if a Pyromystic and a Hydromystic were to battle, the flames of the Pyromystic would be at a significant disadvantage. If two reality warpers were to go toe-to-toe, the more experienced or powerful of the two may win. Which also depends upon their secondary and third natures. The order goes as follows:

First Nature- The most powerful ability and the power on which they are classed.
Second Nature- The second most powerful ability. It is often not as broad as the first class like Illusion or Healing.
Third Nature- The third nature is the least powerful ability, such as invisibility or flight.

Mystics also have personal weaknesses, though, those are harder to distinguish and vary from person to person.

In addition, Mystics also go through physical changes of sorts. Some more extreme than others. For example, on may merely have their eye color changed- or, they could grows scales. It depends upon the nature of their ability.

Divitour
As previously stated, Divitour has been split amongst the four Heirs:

Lord Vex of Asarek
Lord Rehan of Yaulia
Lord Alcaeus of Edech
Lord Callahan of Kedigon

Before the split, much of Divitour had yet to be conquered, so, what was left was taken over by monsters and the free Mythics. What remains is called the Wylds. However, there are quite a few towns out there, started by Mythics whom had gathered a following.
