The Hanyo and the Miko

[Saiyan Princess]

As Kagome bathed, she felt like she was being watched, but, just by looking around, no one was near her. "That must have been Minori's mother. The hair color and nose were exactly the same. She has webbed feet and hands too." Kagome looked around again. "Inuyasha? Is that you?" Kagome dipped lower into the water. "Koga? Miroku?" Any male in this era that knew her, she called their names. "Inuyasha! I told you not to look!"

 

[Dreadpool]

Wrapped within his thoughts, Inuyasha of course didn't quite realize that he was getting a bit to close to where Kagome was bathing. Walking down by this lake helped him think. Unfortunately--


He was snapped from his thoughts upon hearing Kagome's voice. He forgot, Kagome must have gone down here take bathe! Quickly, he ducked behind something, so that he could not be seen. With any luck he'd make it out without a row of sits.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kagome finished bathing and stood up, then realized that she didn't have anything to change into. "Why me? I go home at least once a week and never pack any clothes?" She was forced to put her old clothes back on. "Okay, Inuyasha. You can look now." She teased, not actually believing that he was there. "I saw Minori. Like you said. I'm not sure she knows what she's talking about." She squeezed her hair until it was somewhat dry. "Preistess!" A gravelly voice called to her, making Kagome turn around and start running to get her weapon.

 

[Dreadpool]

"She knows I'm here? HOW?" The hanyo thought, suddenly. He was utterly oblivious to the fact that she actually had no idea he was there, and thus was lowered into a false sense of security. At the mention of Minori, he immediately came from behind the boulder, saying, "You saw Minori? What the heck was she doing he--" As a voice called out to the miko, however, Inuyasha went to follow her.

Kagome ran back out, bow in hand, as the snake demon appeared before them. "Ah, so the mutt is here as well? That figures. So, it's true? Dakuemoshon is dead? Well, you should know that he was the least of your problems." Venom dropped from the fangs protruding from his lips as he threw the humanoid part of his body forward, claws at the ready, watching Tessaiga intensely. "The fang is mine!" He wrapped his tail around Inuyasha's body. "You will not live to see the light of another day, half demon!"

 

[Dreadpool]

"Shut the heck up and just die!" Inuyasha growled, attempting to send his Tessaiga slashing through the tail of this demon's body. If the demon wanted the sword, he would have to kill Inuyasha... and as many people had found out before, that was an extremely difficult task.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Raba squeezed tighter, preparing to suffocate Inuyasha. As he squeezed, Raba hugged Inuyasha, but only to dig his fangs into Inuyasha's skin. Kagome shot Raba with one arrow, thus freezing the demon in place, though he was still able to hold Inuyasha in place. "Inuyasha! Kill him now!" Kagome ordered.

 

[Dreadpool]

Inuyasha grimaced as the demon's hold upon him became tighter, constricting the passage of air throughout the hanyo's body. However, with Kagome's arrow, Inuyasha took the opportunity to strike the demon directly in the face with a burst of yokai energy, the wind scar. He had aimed it just well enough so that Kagome wouldn't be struck by the energy.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Raba was forced to let go of Inuyasha, writhing in agony like any normal snake would as soon as he was cut open. "YOU'LL PAY FOR THAT, MIKO!" Unfortunately, he wasn't able to follow through with the threat before coughing up blood. How could this happen? He wasn't a weak demon like Dakuemoshon! Minori watched from the shadows as Kagome grabbed Inuyasha and pulled him to safety. "They're ruthless." She saw Raba disintegrate.

 

[Dreadpool]

Inuyasha cursed, sheathing his Tessaiga as the demon disintegrated before their very eyes. Another stupid demon trying to get the Tessaiga.. "Are you alright?" He asked, glancing at Kagome worriedly.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kagome didn't answer at first, remembering that Inuyasha was bitten by the snake. "Move your hair!" She didn't give him time. She yanked it over Inuyasha's shoulder and looked at the bite. "We're going to have to clean it. I'm sure Kaede has stuff for you." She didn't know if Inuyasha could walk at this point. "Are you okay?" She started dragging him back to the village, remembering a special kind of berries that grew from a flower on the mountainside. "Kaede should have some." She kept telling herself, not wanting to believe the love of her life was hurt.

The hanyo's body began to slowly feel more and more numb as time passed. He hadn't even noticed the venom seeping into his system! As he tried to respond, his breathing began to lessen. The poison was taking affect swiftly. And the wound was already turning an odd color. Barely keeping his balance, there was little he could do but wait for Kagome to procure the berries.

When Kagome informed Kaede about this, Kaede wasn't surprised. "I haven't been up in the mountains in years, Kagome. Ye should go. Take your friend's demon cat." Kagome was willing to try anything. Within the hour, Kagome was on Kirara, holding Inuyasha in front of her. "Hang on, Inuyasha. I think these are the mountains Kaede was talking about. Kirara, take us higher!" She was severely stressed out right now. The cat did as she was told and flew higher. Kagome could see the berries. "Hang on!"

 

[Dreadpool]

Inuyasha took a deep breath, the area of the bite stinging. His demonic blood was doing as best as it could to fight off the poison, but only that would delay it from fully taking effect. He said nothing as Kirara swooped around to get to the berries. Wasn't much he could do, of course.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kagome managed to pick them just in time. She grabbed the berries and had Kirara land nearby. "It's gonna be okay, Inuyasha." She poked them into her lover's mouth. "Just chew these and it should counter the poison. You're gonna be okay." Kirara licked Inuyasha's face.

Slowly but surely, Inuyasha chewed upon the particularly special berries, wincing slightly as he did so. The effect wasn't immediate, but the pain had definitely begun to ease, as though being siphoned away. His breathing became softer, and finally, he wheezed, "T-thank you... Kagome...." With inner strength that the hanyo had displayed time and time again, he attempted to force himself from the ground, which more then likely wasn't the best thing to try and do at the moment.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

"Stop it." Kagome told him in a tone similar to how Izayoi would have said it. "You can't even stand up like this. Just stay down or let me help." The raven haired beauty helped Inuyasha get situated on the cat demon. "You're looking a lot better, but that snake's poison was quick moving. We can't be careless like that." When Kagome kissed Inuyasha after her scolding, she could still taste the berries.

"Don't forget, I'm still Half-Demon, my body will help fight it.... off...." Inuyasha groaned with effort as he attempted to force himself up. However, due to the pain of it, he inevitably allowed his ebony haired lover to help him onto Kirara. In most cases, the hanyo would have tried to argue back, to get up and fight through the pain. However, he appeared to relax as Kagome's lips impacted with his own. His hand briefly enclosed around hers, before he pulled away. Kagome always had that way of putting him at ease.

"I know you're half demon. That's what makes me nervous when you fight sometimes." Kagome admitted. "I get so nervous just by watching you. You'll get stabbed and or burned or something and then it takes me forever to help you." She wasn't really nervous about that, but Inuyasha's attitude was a different story. He thinks that, because he's half demon, nothing can beat him, he's invincible, untouchable, and that wasn't the case. "You just need to be more careful. When that snake demon bit you, I was watching you get drained of all energy and it just...I couldn't handle it."

As the village came into focus, Inuyasha's arms found their way around the ebony haired beauty, in a comforting gesture. "No snake demon is going to take me out, Kagome... I'm not that easy to get rid of, remember?" He said, his voice barely more then a whisper. His eyes filled with concern, he continued. "I'll be careful, but above all, I have to protect you. A bit of snake venom ain't gonna stop me..." He was still tired, but he had enough energy to pull himself up. The hanyo said nothing further.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kagome bit her lip, thinking about what she should say to him. "Yeah, but, even someone like you has weaknesses, Inuyasha." She grabbed his ear and pulled him along after her. "Don't ever scare me like that again. Do you understand me?" She was glaring daggers at him. He just didn't understand. He put himself in danger all the time and never asked for help. That's what made Kagome frustrated.

 

[Dreadpool]

"Hey, let go of me! I told ya, I can take care of myself." He returned the glare with equal passion. What's her deal, scolding him like this? They got to the berries in time, and he was finally beginning to regain energy. What was going on? "Look, I'll be more careful, alright? Get off my back..." He said, gruffly.

 

[Saiyan Princess]

Kagome wanted to beat the crap out of him for his attitude. "SIT!" She commanded, clenching her fists and storming off. "You scared me to death and you don't even care!"

 

[Dreadpool]

The familiar THUD followed by a moan of pain from the hanyo echoed across the area for just a brief moment. That certainly wasn't going to help him get any better. "OW... that hurt.... Kagome, hold on, wait!" He yelled, managing to scramble to his feet albeit feeling sore all over. "I DO care, hold on Kagome!"
