Insane War Toaster
In the year 3001, space travel was at its peak, many integrating to “Safe Worlds” sponsored and ran by various megacorporations. A few alien races, such as the Phantom like Mists, Advanced Arcturans, and The Fearsome and Violent Dolan. Humanity fought minor battles with some races, mostly with the Dolan.
Humanity fought the Dolan for a century, eventually pushing them to the edge of the galaxy, glassing the surface of the planet and killing the remaining population, but Alpha Teams sent to ensure the hostile race was successfully exterminated found something. A strange artifact on Neptune, a mysterious Obelisk. The Dolan desperately fought for it, being one of the few space faring races, but also the most malevolent. Directly after humanity recovered the artifact, they experimented on it, somehow triggering time, reality, and space warps all over the cosmos, particularly on human controlled humans.
Many planets or systems where isolated, some trapped for hundreds of years while others where frozen in time, others changed drastically, their climates and environments becoming polar opposites. Eventually, the “Cosmos Storms” stopped, leaving humanity fractured, with some planets that had been isolated for thousands of years either changing drastically or declaring war on former allies.
A massive war has begun, with a Coalition of Old World Powers trying to keep up with the planets that had hundreds, if not thousands of years to advance, but recently, an outer world has gone dark. Eden-12 was a frozen planet, habitable but brutal, seemingly unaffected by the Cosmic Storms, only useful for mining and communication.
Many powerful corporations, factions, and governments agreed that the threat of Dolans having taken control of the relay planet in order to stealthily send a fleet of ships from the unknown galaxy they came from, hiring mercenaries and assigning a team of agents to investigate the planet, along with a few other assignments.
This is The Forgotten Frontier, essentially, the threat of shape shifting aliens has led a few rival groups to (temporarily) band together to investigate the planet Eden-12. Players will be mercenaries, scientists, spacecrews, etc. Just ask and I can tell you if it should work. The planet in question has halted all communication for a month, and it will take a week (even than faster than light travel) to reach the planet, with a few (hopefully) quick stops needed to be made before arriving on the planet in order to maintain order on the planet, though some may have other motives.
