Cassandra Summers
When Alexander addressed her, Cassandra gave him a warm smile. "Oh, I don't hide," she assured him. "Though I do keep my distance, especially from royal arguments. You're a better person than me. I wouldn't be able to stand amongst that and still leave the room so calmly," she commended him. She was concerned for the children, but hearing the king so angry and being receptive enough to know how Christopher was likely acting, she knew better than to put herself in the middle of it on this occasion. As refreshing as the boy was, she worried Arthur would get himself into serious trouble if he continued to disrespect his elders. Seeing the princesses all leave the dining room was also concerning, but she was so thankful they had each other to turn to at times like these.
When Aalie approached her to request she had some servants take five plates food to the princesses, she warmly smiled and nodded. "Of course, Your Highness," she kindly agreed. Cassandra temporarily excused herself from Alexander and entered the dining room so she could find one of the servants assigned to helping with dinner. As she began to ask the girl to have some food taken to the princesses, she was interrupted by Christopher who told her otherwise. "Your Highness, the princesses need to eat. They're shaken by the shouting so wish to eat elsewhere, just for this evening. I see no reason to have this escalate further."
"My decision is final, Cassandra. If the princesses needed to eat so desperately they would still be sat at this table where food is traditionally served." Christopher looked her in the eyes and shook his head. "Remember your place, Lady Summers. It would be a shame for me to lose tolerance for you as you're very competent in your duties. Now leave," he ordered her, pointing to the door.
Cassandra had to hold back every response that came to mind, seeing he'd already been pushed far enough for one evening. As she stepped back out onto the corridor, she looked down to see her hands shaking and tightly folded her arms to hide it as she returned to Alexander. She could feel her own anger building inside but knew she couldn't let it out. "That man is infuriating," she quietly told the Master of Security, her voice faltering a little. "He's refusing to have his sisters fed."

The king stopped and turned to the young servant girl. He listened as she told his the French prince had arrived and nodded his head. "Wonderful. Thank you for informing me. Do ensure they enjoy their meal and have someone find me once they have finished their dinner," he told her. He was looking forward to speaking with the Prince of France. Azalea marrying him would help ease tensions with France and also help to control his eldest daughter's personality, he hoped.Jess Buck
